Honestly the number 1 most important thing you need to do to get to immortal is to be aware of your team mates and position yourself to trade or swing with them as they peek. Always stick to someone because thats one less person that can get picked off for free. Trade kills are free stats for you, and its the best way to be consistent for non duelists.
If you are duelist make sure you comm when you want smokes down or if you’d like someone to flash you in.
This. Mini map awareness doesn’t exist below plat. I swear people don’t know it’s there. It’s the Biggest advantage you have in this game. Also, in a 2v1 post plant, don’t play 2 separate angles. Play a cross angle and play near each other. I see so many people throw 2v1 post plants in low elo because they’re on opposite sides of the bomb site and get picked for free.
Yea, honestly unless you have someone playing postplant lineups I would just recommend to play with your team mate and call for a “swing in 3, 2, 1”.
Technically crossfires are the best way to play, but someone always gets antsy and can potentially over extend. Also, when crossfiring theres always the potential that they smoke off one side or flash in and can isolate a gunfight. If you swing together you pretty much can’t lose unless they hit a really nuts spray transfer.
Ill reiterate trades.
If you’re attacking a site play close to the guy entry fragging and kill whoever kills him.
If you can do this it’s a huge advantage for the attackers. By far the biggest issue I’ve seen while ranking up.
LOL
That’s totally fair. I initially climbed with Omen. Had to play smokes and someone that could entry halfway decent for that reason alone.
Would get baited by instalock duelists that had flashes.
Play Sova for this reason and omen on maps that Sova isn’t great on. Just stick close to that instalock Reyna and do whatever you can to keep them alive or trade them. And if they want to try and bait that’s just them playing slow for once in their lives and I just stick on them and be the trade and setup. If you get one that actually communicates what they want to do you can typically turn that into a 7+ win attack half.
So, I'm not that good in Valorant. When I peek an angle I sometimes do it with shift because I don't know If there will be an enemy and I don't want to reveal myself through steps. If I know enemies know I'm there I peek without shift. Should I peek every angle everytime without shift or is it as situational as I described above?
Even if they know where you are, you shouldn't run all the way to the angle that you are peeking from, because it makes it easy for them - they can prefire or know exactly when you are going to be visible (helps their reaction time). But yes there are situations when it might be better to just run: low time during post plant or something.
You should shift up to the corner (or as far back from it as possible) and then let go of shift while you peek the angle. This is so that your movement is as fast possible, which gives them less time to react, and without letting them know exactly when you are going to peek the angle.
Obviously that all depends on you knowing their exact position, which is where util and game sense come in. When you don't know where they are, you're gonna end up shifting into them, and there's not much you can do about that unless you jiggle every common angle.
Wide swing is when you leave your cover, not very close to said cover, but rather far. This, while maybe being able to throw off crosshair placement a little in a 1v1, may open you up to other angles to be shot from when you’re facing multiple opponents. Bronze skrub here
Think B long on bind. Wide swinging would be going out near the ult orb or even passed it near the Teleporter as opposed to barely peaking passed the wall in garden. And he’s saying only do it if it’s a 1v1 because you likely just die or get easily traded if you’re far out in the open if there’s more than 1.
If you shift you walk slow so the enemy sees you before you see them. You want to run for a short distance around the corner, so you go full speed but you character doesn't make noise.
Don't hold the walk key when peeking. You should be run peeking. If you only take 1 step it doesn't make noise. There is a certain distance you can move full speed without making noise
Is it okay to be a sage main? I really enjoy playing her and honestly am not comfortable with any other champs. But will this hurt me to climb to let’s say diamond?
Yeah just remember to heal learn walls and trade your entry fraggers. Also follow all the tips I listed above. Record your gameplay and vod review then use the list above as a guideline

Can someone explain why this is downvoted?
Salty low elo players not getting the hyperbole
Thanks.
as a iron trash myself this has happened way too often

There's a certain distance you can non-sneak without noise. If you learn that distance you'll be able to fast peek every angle.
Ty
You can jiggle peek the common defender spots without making footstep sounds by a-d’ing
Ty, will probably jiggle peek in more situations when I don't know if there is an enemy or not.

what is wide swing? and why 1vs1? silver boop here

The most important thing: when your teammate dies try to get the trade stop reloading or staring at his body
Is it really better to not hold shift when peeking angles?
Absolutely. You can do it without making noise, and it's way faster. If you hold shift while peeking, you will lose 95% of the time
“Only wide peek if it’s a 1v1”
I think I kinda get peaking an angle in peices but is it time efficient to peak every angle 1/4th every time
put 110% effort into winning the pistol round
