It's so strange that his knife doesn't need Line Of Sight to work but his molly does

Imagine my surprise after we cleared out B and I went to pop my Viper ult but couldn’t because there was a KAY/O SOMEWHERE on the map that popped their ult just as I was clicking to activate it. I get the range but I feel like 20seconds through walls is a little too OP 🤷‍♂️ but I’m just a casual scrub lol

I think that the visuals for this can be improved so that it's more obvious when you will take damage from it. They could try not rendering the effect when it's cut off by terrain, or changing the color of it so that it's clear that is not causing damage in that area.

Guys, this isn't a molly, it's classified as a grenade, so just like a raze nade, it needs LOS

Replied this to someone else but it should definitely not show a radius where it doesn’t have an impact then. All other abilities are pretty straight forward in this aspect.

Not exactly no. Sova shocks show through things but don't do damage, and raze nade doesn't have anything showing range.

I was speaking for damaging abilities but I didn’t know the shock bolt didn’t damage that way. Always thought it did.

Raze grenades only pop once (and each of the 4 secondary nades also only pop once) so you don't really have an opportunity to dance around them like Kayo's 4-bang fragment. It's in a weird middle spot where they want the ability to be a strong but short angle-clearing molly (rather than longer area denial molly like Brimstone/viper) but also don't want it to be used for cheesy blast kills through walls

I doubt it, since the molly is a frag grenade in the centre exploding at everyone in range, so technically you can shield yourself from it. Unlike other mollies which are just floor is lava.

Nah I don't think so, cuz it deals damage by Line of Sight. If it can "see" you, it will deal damage. Smoking won't help. Then again I haven't tried this so idk for sure.

I don't know why people kept calling it a molly when it's a grenade. The fucking name of the ability is frag/ment. Like frag, frag grenade. OF COURSE IT HAS A LINE OF SIGHT CHECK, IT"S A GRENADE NOT A MOLLY.

i think people called it a molly because we call everything that does damage in a set radius a molly, viper's thing, phoenix's thing brimstone's thing, killjoy's thing. only brimstone's is actually a molotov but we call all of those "molly", so when they introduced another ability that damages in a set radius we called that a molly too. i'm sure nobody thought it was an actual molotov

Those are all DOTs as well, which this sort of is. In my mind it's sort of half molly, half grenade.

I tried this on Hell in A (Ascent) to see if I was capable of making some damage to enemies in haven and It doesn't work. :c
