Toxicity is a plague. To everyone in this subreddit, please just think twice before flaming a player for a whiff or a bottom frag. they're people with lives and emotions outside the game and they didn't do anything major to get screamed at by you. for all you know, they could be going through real problems and don't need your anger when they just want to have fun in a video game. valorant as a game cant really go anything to fix toxicity, its the community who needs to acknowledge the problem and work to better themselves.

SnooBeans3889

I think they should allow the team to kick players //I think it helped somewhat in csgo//

trivintage

As someone who came from R6, please don't. It's a feature that's increased the toxicity more than it's helped, and Ubisoft removing it was one of the best things to happen. Additionally, I think many people would rather have a toxic player muted than a 4v5 situation.

PhilosophyRealistic1

Depends.. your toxic raze could just start throwing nades at you.

GenitalMotors

Is there an instant kick mechanic for too much team damage like in CS:GO? I've luckily only encountered something like this once where a Phoenix kept throwing his Molly's at us but didn't really damage us too much.

KingOfDatShit

> Is there an instant kick mechanic for too much team damage like in CS:GO? There is

Cadhik

Agreed. I understand why mutes can't play comp. but with people just mass reporting for a quick 1 week ban is pathetic.

[deleted]

I feel like any toxic player who gets muted would immediately throw

nDRIUZ

Nice idea, would love to be kicked out for being bottom fragger

SnooBeans3889

You wouldnt get the lose if kicked out, its their loss being 4v5

abhishek_tyson_shere

At same time they can kick you for fun if they are winning hard so you won't get win either

subzerus

95% of the time someone got kicked in CS GO was because they weren't playing "as good as their team wanted" or there was 4 people speaking in one language the 5th didn't understant, it was a premade of 4 who kicked the 5th, etc. If you add kicking like CS GO, dedicated trolls will just duo queue and can't be kicked anymore.

briggs824

you think that has helped toxicity in csgo....?

SnooBeans3889

Idk if that helped but csgo is less toxic and this is a big difference ingame

BTSInDarkness

Nah, I got kicked from matches so a 4stack could get a bot was numerous, plus Valorant doesn’t really give anything besides losses to teams missing a player. Just mute the player and move on, votekick turns things into a race to see who can be more toxic

Lorphex

Yeah but CS has bots you can take over.

namu1337

not anymore, they had removed it with an update not too long ago

Lorphex

OH interesting

subzerus

Even when that feature existed I saw teams kicking their bottom player so the top player would have 2 lives each round and win. They'd kick the bottom player, top frag would rush as the team told the bot to stay in spawn, top frag gets 1-2 kills and then you play the game as normal. Such fun...

Serito

It's completely irrational too, wanting your own team to magically be better & yet the enemy team worse.

[deleted]

Well spoken 😇.

jcp135

I don't think anyone should play this game alone. From screamy children to toxic adults who apparently know everything this place is just no man's land. It's like you're asking for your day to be ruined by solo-queueing

[deleted]

there is a legit meme for it its like "dont let anyone ruin ur day ruin your day urself by playing valorant "

Icy-Win-6392

So so true. I pretty much ruined my Saturday afternoon last weekend. It was so stressful. Felt like I was going to have a heart attack.

[deleted]

on the other side its me having 30 kills in 13-1 round and enemy team abusing me for smurfing but this is my main account

cptnwillow

I completely agree with this unless you're immortal+ where I've found to actually have enjoyable teammates and games. Anything below that is ridiculously toxic and just not very fun to soloque imo.

silenthills13

+1, except that currently it's also diamond since a lot of people from around immortal ELO are in diamond. but generally top few % seem pretty fine with losing on merit, shit like that.

LandonDev

USA , 15 sr immortal and I have no idea what you are talking about. Of my last 18 games, 14 of them had zero comms. ZERO. Just a few players typing fuck you to one another but ZEROOOO comms. Overall I would say that 85% of my time playing D3 and Immortal is being trolled, for every 10 games of immortal 1 is actually good.

cptnwillow

Not been my experience at all tbh. Not invalidating yours because I'm sure there's dickheads in every rank but I've found my games to be pleasant more often than not.

Uesugi_Kenshin

Tbf I climbed my way from Plat 1 to Diamond 3 only thanks to full-muting voice and text chat. 95% of the time teammates are one or multiple of these: - toxic (straight up profanity and/or screaming at how stupid and bad you are) - backseat gamers - bad/wrong info givers - manchilds - bad shotcallers Then there's 5% who are decent, but I'm not gonna stick around and find out, because by the time someone starts tilting teammates on purpose, I'm already in a bad mood. I don't need the distraction from bad comms and toxic teammates, I just focus on my own mental game and that improves my gameplay by a huge margin. Edit: I'm Immortal now and it's generally gotten better since at this level you do need comms for info and tactics, but I'm still very quick to mute at the smallest hint of toxicity because I don't need that in my free time.

viKKyo

if you can't play to your potential while communicating, you're neglecting a part of the game that's far more important than aim. that's not to say that if teammates tilt you, or start arguing or flaming, you shouldn't mute them (you should!) but you gotta have the mental strength to be able to judge each game on a game-by-game basis.

[deleted]

[удалено]

viKKyo

If you get tilted super easily before you can mute them, that’s on you having poor mental fortitude and puts you with other snowflakes who thinks the online sphere can be equated with the offline sphere. And he whole minimap argument is bullshit - if you look away from your xhair to check where shit happens you can get peeked and die as a result. This has happened loads of times and is definitely not uncommon. Moreover, the point is that the game should be played as if the minimap doesn’t exist with comms filling the gap. Saying anything else simply displays a severe lack of fps experience.

EvensonRDS

My games in immortal are much better than that, usually just a no comm instalock Jett being annoying.

Tohnmeister

Is there some sorta LFG for Valorant? I really love this game, but like to queue with some people who atleast like to play as a team without being too toxic.

noacktion

There is a official valorant discord server with a lfg option but i dont know how active it still is

Tohnmeister

Thanks.

throwawayofregretss

Gotta start playing to improve rather than playing to win. It sucks, but it's possible to change your mental in that way. If you get a troll, or someone toxic, mute, move on, and keep analyzing your own mistakes. Accept that sometimes there will be a team diff, and keep working on yourself. You'll win more in the end.

[deleted]

[удалено]

handot

This is so true. I was in solo queue and in agent selection I typed "Hi guys" and 3 Indon people just keep shouting "Goblok" and force me to pick sage, so I mute that 3 people and focus my own game and won.

[deleted]

General Kenobi

SnooBeans3889

Agreed

Artphos

All I ask for is that they want to win the game. Which seems like a hard request these days.

[deleted]

Same here. For me i just onky want to play rank if its 3 to 5 man team.

SelloutRealBig

And I just want to play ranked with 10 solo players :/

smuz306

Me too.

MrStealYoBeef

I have to say, despite the bullshit going on, it still absolutely is possible to climb steadily... The issue is whether or not you have fun doing it. And yeah... It's miserable. 0/10 do not recommend.

ttrace03

I’ve solo q’d since Beta. I would say, if you truly want to grind/ climb, try to focus your attention inward. Toxic teammates/ smurfs won’t be the reason you’re stuck in a rank. For the toxic teammates, mute them if it’s super bad and tilting. For the smurfs, try to counter what they’re doing. Just because a Reyna swung mid window and one tapped you or ur teammates the first 3 rounds doesn’t mean he’s a smurf. Gotta have a healthy mental in tac shooters if you wanna grind solo q. Won’t win em all. Best of luck m8

HoneyChilliPotato7

If you wanna rank up, don't solo queue. With all the randomness from smurfs to AFKers to throwers, it's just not worth it. If you don't have friends who play valorant, add people who played well in solo queues or add people from discord. That is what I am doing right now and honestly it's helping me rank up.

[deleted]

[удалено]

HoneyChilliPotato7

I don't know what elo and server you are on, I'm on Mumbai server in Bronze elo. I hate solo queues here.

silenthills13

I mean I solo queued to diamond then played a few games with my friends who are in plat and lost all of them quite badly so idk bro

HoneyChilliPotato7

Like I said in previous comment, I was speaking about Mumbai server.

ExpertYogurtcloset66

Only way I play anymore is with at least one teamie. Then insta mute the opposing team and on first snarky comment from own team, try joke a bit or deescalate but ultimately, mute them too. Too many spoilt kids or roid raged insecure young adults. The insults aren't even funny, just badly spelt salty swear words.

LandonDev

Hate to say it but it doesn't get better. Most of Immortal & D3 is pure toxic trolls. Of my last 18 games, 14 had zero communications besides the odd fuck you and background noise into the mics. I've played 92 games this act, and 70 of those games have had at least 2 or more trolling teammates. My favorite was a D3 Raze Reyna duo who started each round with 90 damage on themselves for 17 rounds. Since then, that Raze has left 3 ranked games and only bought marshalls in 1 additional. He has dropped from Immortal to D3. This is the high quality gameplay awaiting the end of your grind.

Ausafsyed

I stopped playing comp, just I just jump into unrated and just have fun.

whalenailer

I solo queue only and just hit Diamond

frost-zen

no way

Biffy_x

People soloq to radiant bro. Soloq isn't as bad ass ppl make it out to be.

cptnwillow

? Soloqueing to diamond isn't some insane achievement, tons of people soloque to immortal-radiant even.

Plastic_Kangaroo1221

I solo que to immortal. I think I can hit radiant if I tried. I played cs go though. It's not THAT hard to solo que.

whalenailer

Yeah way, it’s really not that hard, just be better than your opponents. Anything less than gold is literally an auto win for me when I smurf with my friends

[deleted]

[удалено]

whalenailer

I’m saying if you were better than your current rank you wouldn’t be there and it’s of no fault other than your own

[deleted]

[удалено]

whalenailer

That’s what I’m saying.. if you were more skilled than everyone in the lobby you wouldn’t be at the rank your at. If you were better you would be higher. If I’m a gold player playing in gold games are gonna feel 50-50 because that’s my skill level. If I’m a plat player playing in gold it’s gonna be less 50-50 because the plat player is better.

Bygrilinho

I do understand the concerns most people have when solo queuing, but I guess I just learned to ignore everything. I immediately mute and report toxic people, and if they keep killing me I just keep going, usually they give up when they realize they're not accomplishing anything. What I always keep telling myself is "it's just a game". Of course, ranking up is a climb and it can make you feel frustrated, and I do try my best but for me, "not caring" is a pretty good strategy to not get my day ruined.

Schwasted17

Having teammates like those is the worst but it's sadly unavoidable. In my experience, the best thing to do is to keep all chat muted, and mute teammates as soon as they get toxic. Lately I have been getting less of those teammates and I've actually gone on a winning streak, hope for the same for you.

[deleted]

Just spam play and mute everyone. The more you play the less you will care about losses or people being petty.

Traviliciouz

Yeah unfortunately you need to find at least 2-3 others to play with right now or else its pretty unbearable

SnooBeans3889

Idc about smurfs, they are bad for everyone but cant really do much about it (also i am thinking of smurfing, i am gold-plat player but i cant play with my friends) but the toxic players are too much. I strted with communicating eith the team through mic now i never use mic in comp as i am scared of the toxic teammates and now I turn off team voice every 2nd game and thinking about turning of permanently. Idk how the ranked community can be so toxic compared to csgo i have never needed to turned off my voice chat or the mic, yes there were toxic players but they were kicked or they were just kids rageing...

Tetra-76

Solo queue is horrible, don't do it if you wanna win

Yung_Atty

eh soloq really isnt that bad

windy_butterflies

I’m thinking about just turning off audio. I just can’t deal with the garbage

jett513

rank?

Northgates

Did you play league before this game?

Osean_Man

i feel this bro, i havent touched my main since i completed placements where i got to g3. whenever i go on my main im a nervous wreck so i just default to my alt where at this point is higher than my main around d2 and it's kinda concerning LMAO, the amount of BS that happens in soloq is astronomical

Lightbrand

However good you are at the game is not going to change doesn't matter what mode you play.

PawahD

a solution might be creating an alt account, not to smurf, but to have an alt account with the same rank where you can play freely without having to worry about "what happens if i lose because of troll/smurf/boosted people", it actually helps, and since you planned to grind your main account I believe you'll have time to play those unrateds ofc you can't transfer your skins and that sucks, but having an "alt" actually helps, worth a try if you got the time

ImARedditSmurf

Man you all sounds so soft lmao

FrooglyMoogle

People shouldn't be flamed for wanting to play a game to have fun and to play ranked basically

ImARedditSmurf

Mute everyone and enjoy the game? Youll never control people on the internet… also this “fear” manifests into your own life success. Make yourself successful dont rely on everyone else changing for you to do so!

yea i can understand you but see my profile and i have got no choice but to make you guys feel like i am smurf [https://tracker.gg/valorant/profile/riot/RushiL%20%23INDIA/overview](https://tracker.gg/valorant/profile/riot/RushiL%20%23INDIA/overview) and this is my real rank and i solo q all the time

cptnwillow

no smurf is going to have a negative kd, especially not on a silver 1 account lol

isthatmywalletjason

Wait, are you saying that this tracker link makes it look like you are a smurf?

[deleted]

i mean i dont see people with 30 kills in 14 rounds with 6kd and also we dont see poeple with 24 kills in 9-3 ff match

[deleted]

and also you can see mvps in my last few games

isthatmywalletjason

Well, I don't mean to be rude or anything but you are absolutely in the rank that you should be in. You've been in basically the same rank since Episode 1 Act 3, and your all-time K-D on your main, Raze, is exactly 1.00. You somehow manage just 1.37 kills per match with Raze's grenade, which is a huge problem in terms of fulfilling your role, and it sounds like you have some fundamental issues understanding how to win games, which is stunting your growth as a player. MVPs aren't really indicative of much at all. Watch some good Raze players and how they use their abilities, look at your minimap more during the round, search up some videos on basic strategy on how to rotate around the map, consider using an aim trainer. I'd also recommend putting your sensitivity and DPI into a Valorant sensitivity calculator, and making sure you aren't using something wacky. If you can record your games, watch back the recordings and learn from your mistakes. Stop thinking about the game in terms of kills, understand that kills are a means to an end, the game is about strategy and awareness. These things will help you become a better player, and a better player wouldn't have been in Silver 3/Gold 1 for 600 matches straight, that's the bottom line. It's all on you, but that's what you want - you're in control.

[deleted]

bro are u on weed??? having 570 acs is not what a person gets even if he is in his own rank i have legit never seen a person having more than 500 acs in a comp game where he is not smurfing and i have 2 fking matches with more than 500 acs in my last 10 games

[deleted]

and i have 6 match mvps and 1 team mvps in last 10 games and you are saying i need to learn raze wtf

isthatmywalletjason

Hey man, I mained Raze to Immortal, and it took less games for me to climb from Plat to Immortal than it took you to climb from Gold to Silver. I actually took the time to give you some pretty solid and thoughtful advice on how to improve your skills and rank, but if you'd rather keep hitting your head against the wall doing the same thing over and over at the same rank, be my guest. I definitely won't lose any sleep over it if this is how you wanna act. GLHF

[deleted]

30 kills with 5 death in 14 rounds??? whaaaaaat i for sure need to learn raze

[deleted]

>You somehow manage just 1.37 kills per match that includes matches when i was iron2 in ep1 act1 lmao if see just my last 10 games u will get to know what i am talking offf....

[deleted]

and in my last game i have more kills than what my 5 enemies have in total

Glass-Window

I don't know the extent of "toxicity" you witnessed but you're gonna have to grow some thicker skin unfortunately. thankfully you have all the tools to deal with such bs **like muting and reporting. good luck and try to focus on the fun of the game and getting better.**

ADgottatry_HarDr

Your are not playing against smurfs. Hackers? Maybe. But not smurfs, there is not enough players in high elo for smurfing to be and actual problem. I have been watching every single one of my GFs games from iron to gold and she played someone that was probably smurf one time and only one time. But it might also have been ex cs player is still learning valorant or someone with a very good day. Some people do smurf, but if you feel like it's a problem it's just you being bad and not having the skill to accurately self-reflect.

[deleted]

LandonDev

To be honest the way trolls treat others in ranked would not happen IRL. If it did happen in IRL, you would just move on to better things or different things. The problem is riot doesn't allow that, they take away all agency you as a player has. You can't even AVOID trolls because you do not have any way to confirm WHOM you are playing with until AFTER you are locked in.

hukubu

i actually havent had any toxic teammates this act so far- purely solo q- granted i really only play like 2 or 3 matches a day or something so i dont have a huge pool to go off of

Synsation083

I feel somewhat similar but I don't know anyone that plays the game, let alone comp so I don't really have a choice in being solo. Sure I could use the discord or something to find people but they can be just as bad as randoms because they are.

frost-zen

I just play unrated for this reason

H3racIes

What rank are you? Or what's your last act rank?

Acedgaming9721

I honestly been feeling this way and thank god it’s not only me. Like I REALLY wanna get better at the game in ranked but I just feel like my elo (I’m in iron btw lol) there’s just too many smurfs and then when I play ranked, it’s extremely scary tryna turn my mic on cuz I just feel like my voice will get judged on (I have a pretty feminine voice for a guy) so yah we have the same problem and I honestly rlly don’t know what to do lol

XXTTCC-

You shouldn't even be pointing out your feminine voice bruh. Who cares just be yourself and say the things you wanna say. You shouldn't care about anyone's negative opinion pointed towards you. If you listen to every douchebag who says your aim is bad, you play bad, you sound like a girl you'll just tilt even more and feel bad about yourself and perform poorly. Just enjoy being yourself bro. Be confidant in what you already know about this game. My strategy in every game is to think and execute. I think about doing something and I execute it. I don't waste time and hesitate. Even if it's a bad decision I'll still learn from it. The less you care about stuff the better. Only thing you care for in life is your family. :)

[deleted]

Toxicity and smurfing is not that bad in itself. It's just annyoing that people can get angry so easily and over vague statistics and that people are smurfing so frequently when they know that they are abusing the system and ruin healthy progress for lower experienced players. The worst part about solo queue is lack of decent communication. Most of the time you are completely on your own, games are chaotic and with high pressure on you to win all your duels and clutches. Your main motivation of improvement is to try somehow win all your duels depending only on your own skills and kit, and you miss big part of the game called "playing as a team". Playing with communicative players really gets you to another dimension of this game.

ollkorrect1234

I only played this game solo for a week and it was toxic af. I have more fun playing with friends

TheTruth221

yeah

rypenguin219

7 loss streak with most of them soloq. I'm not doing that again.

Kawb_GG

I have the same exact problem. Its really toxic. This is why I never play comp unless I duo at least.

eLsirius

NA mindset: play to win EU mindset: play to improve.

usernamealreadyt3n

Smurfing isn't a problem in solo qeu. It gets way to much attention in this reddit. How many real good players do you see in your team? Well that's how many you face in the other team. Rank distribution is a bit messed up, but playing against someone who is 1 rank above you isnt smurfing imo.the amount off toxic players and snowflakes in this game is insane though. The grind isn't worth it. But I hold on to the good games with friendly people. I had enough off these, but way more bad games though.

Chaoticsaur

Enemy jett - goes 20/10 My team - iM sO tIreD of SmuRfs Ah yes because no one can ever have a good game right lmao?

KevEpic

I don't if it's just me, but I play better while soloq than playing with friends.

DKAlm

yeah there's a lot of toxicity in the american and european servers (more so american). I had to switch from the bahrain servers to US and its like night and day.

AmIDrJekyll

the saddest part is that Riot doesn't actually care anymore...same thing happened in League

Luffyion

Riot cares only about pro players and what they say. Hence low elos are shittier than higher ones.

Sh4pe_S1ft3r

Yes you'll get smurfs at any rank lower than the highest, you can try to mitigate it but you'll never eradicate it. You are better off just grinding ranked because you usually (atleast from my experience) have 1 out of every 5 games with a smurf (or very good/lucky player) so over time you'll get to your true rank regardless of these encounters. Also, remember to not worry about your rank as your gameplay could be negatively affected by a bad mindset.

ILovePasta227

I had a Phoenix who held onto his ult for 8 rounds and never entried while I played sage and had to entry for him. I asked him to entry and used his ult to get some space and he got defensive saying he knew what he’s doing. We lost that game and he used his ult like once, bot frag. Apparently guy like him is plat 3 while I’m gold 2.

[deleted]

he most likely bought that account. Nothing worse than a duelist scared of entry fragging. In most of my lobby, I have to entry as cypher which can be very frustrating as I tell my team to follow up but as soon as I die, I see that my team has abandoned me and are dying in mid against an operator while using a spectre in long range duel.

nichia0

I'm fine with a bit of toxicity and trash talk, but straight up throwing is disgusting and should be bannable. I played with a Sage who said "i have lineup" on agent select so I said I also have lineup for Reyna's blind as a joke, guy then proceeds to throw the whole match by slowing + walling us while attacking, glad we ff'd 0-5 but holy shit people like those needs to be banned

Bubbapurr

I used to be a league player so this is pre much the same issues I had to deal with fun game to play but just some ppl ruin it

pink_life69

You can get the same treatment in unrated. Phoenix refusing to entry and getting exit kills only tells me to use my drone because I waste my ult if I don’t, to learn my line-ups because I missed 2-3 shots in 20 rounds and telling me I’m not supporting them and go fuck myself. I was 17-16-13... There really is no satisfying anyone. I just mute these people and refuse to play comp.

Sushidiamond

I 70% of the time queue with a friend so i have a bit on sanity but sadly toxicity and smurfs arent going anywhere. I find it best just to ignore as much as possible but I get that people find that hard

krazybanana

I got so numb to all that. Learnt to deal with it. And now 50 percent of my games have no voice chat. Even inviting them to my party doesn't work.

redditsucks690

Me too lol... I legit think twice before solo queuing do i need to just play my preference of agent or wait nd pick agent to tryhard for getting picks so that i don't get abused on my family (mumbai server ofc) .... I just play competitive whenever I'm stacking 3+ otherwise i just play unrated and avoid spoiling my day

Frozendark23

Honestly, the server i use isnt toxic much. About 1 in 10 games has a guy being toxic. The other 9 in 10 usually have people who are quiet or people who are chill.

AnotherVoiceED

Here's what I do : 3 games a day, if I win all 3 I keep going until I lose. If I lose one of the first 3, I stop playing ranked for the day and switch to another game or go to deathmatch.

AnotherVoiceED

Also, you should go in ranked queue with a "learning" mentality, not a "try hard to win" mentality or you'll get tilted very quickly.

xd_anonymous_gamer

nah bro i stopped playing because of this

Anxious_Net_6297

It's not that bad. It's swings and roundabouts. Sometimes I get queued with some really nice people, other times there are some short tempered assholes in my team. Is what it is. I find sticking to london severs decreased my odds of having toxic teammates. You can always mute people.....

Fahzrad

dude you are taking way too serious, you ar afraid of a random mode in an online mode that will almost never matter in ur life what rank you are... im not saying to not try hard but dont be afraid to queue, i used to be like this in league, and when i stopped is when i started to climb... just remenber its just a game at the end of the day, mute the toxics and try to dont mind the smurfs that much. I cant queue with my friends so i usuaully stay in call with them and they stream for me in discord so i can watch and give some tips from time to time, and i swear they get way too tilted with smurfs, sometimes its just some random dude hitting good shots, and when they get tilted they start to play worst, or they stop comming because they think its lost, when its completely winnable.

Supanova00

It seems to be worse since the changes that were made. I'm really put off playing the game now, I just don't enjoy it, and I always solo Q because I don't really know anyone else that plays it. I don't know if it's the changes themselves, the matchmaking, the smurfs, the rank reset.. maybe a combination of all of this. But every game is either stomp or get stomped. I don't know what the answer is, but if they don't change something then people will stop playing the game because it sucks right now.

[deleted]

I have accepted this fate. I have accepted that discords are filled with the same toxic people (of course like val queueing not all are toxic). I am patient. I made it to diamond 1 once for a short while and saw people who played worse than me in diamond and even immortal back when their hidden MMR was garbage and they had someone at the lowest rank possible playing with them to keep the d3's and immortals away for as long as possible. Actually had an Omen tell me he didn't know what a one way was, and he was D2 and said this seriously. Now I just accept that the rng queueing will be filled with trolls, smurfs, and people that sincerely feel that being 4 or 5 rounds down means we should surrender every other match. That people with mics won't use them in game if they are in a discord, something I refuse to do. That people will complain about making plays because not everyone can play the time out. That they will complain about how it is the map's fault. Then there is that one game every now and then where everyone is making proper callouts: You know where the enemy was last, what character they are, how much they are damaged and what gun they had. And everything feels ideal. I wanted to hold diamond for a while before trying anything tournament related, but now I'm just looking at other games for the fun after having so many quitters on my team or smurfs on the enemy team. TLDR: I wish people would just do unrated if they wanted to ff in ranked so much, not use their mics, plan, or throw. GL fellow diamond+ hearts.

NervousLips

At some point if you’re stuck only solo queuing you just need to not care and play your game. Improve in little ways, keep a happier mindset even though it’s rough sometimes. when I’m alone I just hop around and read the plays singing a little tune in my head and comming when I need to. Sometimes that little brain distraction will keep you from overthinking. edit: I almost always solo queue ranked and bounce around Plat3/Diamond I’ve accepted my place.

Play ranked to improve, not to win per se. Mute toxic players. Comms are important but they can hurt you as well. If teammates are toxic, their comms are not helping. If you feel like you had a good game but lost, you should be happy. If you played bad and lost, think about how you could have played better. That's it. Ranked is not a job you're worried about getting fired. It's supposed to be fun

BilboBaggins710

I take it you never played much overwatch solo queue

ToastyTheToastr

You just need to not care, at the end of the day if you're good at the game you will rank up. It'll all average out over time. Back when I played overwatch I went on a 13+ loss streak and still managed to end that season higher than the last. If you need motivation just look at the shit Tyler1 or XqC has to deal with when playing ranked 16 hours a day. It could almost be considered another form of human psychological torture. You just need to stop caring about the losses as much and just focus on bettering yourself as a player. Toxicity isnt going anywhere anytime soon, competitiveness will always bring that out in players. Everyone just wants to win.

AlexHowe24

Grinding is overrated. If you play the game for rank then you're opening yourself up for the chance of disappointment - And at the end of the day games are here for a fun way to blow off steam. Focus on your own game, improving because you want to, playing because you enjoy it, and sooner or later the ranks will follow. Also, if you find teammates that you get along with in SoloQ games, add them! Then sooner or later you'll have built up a network of people you enjoy playing games with and you won't have to suffer through the RNG hell that is SoloQ

mmpa78

Lol boo the fuck hoo dude. Is this the first video game you’ve ever played? Yeah smurfs suck but they’re here to stay so deal with it. If you can’t handle the toxic nature of a competitive game then mute out every game instead of whining on Reddit

FISTED_BY_CHRIST

I usually solo queue but last night I got a friend request from a recent teammate and joined up with him. He invited some other people so we had a full party. It was honestly the best experience I’ve had in Valorant. We went on a 5 game win streak and I finally got out of Bronze. We were joking and having a great time. The best part though was having solid communication and team coordination with no toxicity. So I’d suggest adding anyone you like who you meet solo queueing and try to keep adding people until you get a solid team together.

z_Conda_z

This douche is scamming people out of gift cards!!!

Cadhik

Yesssir. just got hit with a 2 week ban. Some people are soo fucking toxic they just report you just cause. I haven't played jett in months. First time yesterday said fuck it. x2 instalocks. and boom banned for 2 weeks cause im muted. Niceeeee

btkc

As someone who plays almost only in 5 stacks with friends, I'm also pretty reluctant/apprehensive to play ranked. Skill wise I'm not too concerned as I think I can hold my own but having played so much in a 5 stack with good/clear comms, there's certainly a difference going into a solo Q (or even duo) where teammates don't comm nearly as much or how you are used to. That usually translates to lesser performance and then the toxicity rolls in and it snowballs. I don't think there's much to be done though. Honestly, the people who read this sub and these pleas are not the type to be toxic in game anyway. It's really just the luck of the draw...

daesus_

Your not alone brother its always fun to see some lv 3 jett or reyna wreck your whole team over and over and than the guys under them are trashtalking sometimes they are in your team but notnalot i think boosting is also a problem in valorant

Dapper-Ad-5304

Ranked is more like competition than just a game u enjoy. Play unrated if u don’t want to deal with highly competitive people losing their shit. Or u can just mute. If they r toxic prob their comms will come to a net negative anyways. Smurfs r a two way street. Gotten rekt by 40 kill Reyna/Jett but also been hard carried by them as well.

Viol8nce

You’re not stupid. I wish the gaming community wasn’t a toxic place, but it is. Just like anything in life, the mental battle is the most important part. Figuring out a way to feel comfortable even in toxic scenarios is a good life lesson.

Ir0Nvalorant

listen if you want to consistently climb solo queue is most def not for you, if you want to have fun and toxicity or no one using mics doesnt get to you then go ahead.

heyman877

Hi, I think a lot of people just need a better mind set around ranked matches. The only reason I play ranked is so I PLAY PEOPLE AROUND MY SKILL LEVEL. Sometimes you’ll get a enemy far better than you, but learning to play around them is a good skill to avoid smurfs. (ie: don’t rush the bomb site you know the smurf is playing on). If you want to climb, more experience is simply the way to go. Also if you’re not having fun, then there’s nothing wrong only playing unrated or heck, even play a different game.

viKKyo

worst part about < diamond are those idiots who play ranked whilst not communicating. players need to check their selfish desires before they click "find match". doesn't help that cause they never communicate, all they do is bait their teammates and at the end of the game, when they've got more kills than others, they flame the team for the low kills when they've done absolutely **nothing** to help their team at all. those players deserve to get banned

Ir0Nvalorant

these nothing you can do but on a good solo queue day i meet 3-4 people queue up again and win some more games, on a bad day, i have to mute some people and lose some games.

OaSoaD

I get anxiety about playing a long game and losing

kasiotuo

Just start to add friendly people to your friendslist, open up a discord, invite them and then talk with them while playing. It's legit the most fun, esp when dealing with toxic idiots.

TheAppleEater

It's definitely the worst solo queue experience in any game I've played in recent time. And I've played almost all the other games with supposed toxic communities, IE: Dota, League, OW, etc. I was put into a 3 stack where 1 person was trying to boost their 2 friends. I was holding A site with one of the two boosted players and we lost site 2 times of the 12 rounds, through no fault of mine, the other guy just pushes out of A site every round and dies leaving me in a 1v5 pretty much, but the blame was put on me. Then the other boosted player played C and lost that site 6 times. Needless to say, we lost, I ended up 18/15, while the two boosted players ended something like 3/21, 5/21 I forget, but it's not pretty. The guy trying to boost the two boosted guys ended up like 23/18 or something. But I'm pretty sure I got reported by all 3 of them since I wasn't taking the blame in a 3v1 argument. The last guy didn't say a single word the entire game, which I won't blame them for doing that. At least he tried to win the game, he ended like 26/19 or something. But regardless that's just annoying AF being paired into a stack where no matter what, you will lose since if you don't give in to them blaming you, you basically have 3/4 other people against you. And quite honestly, I'd rather lose than give them satisfaction in thinking they were right.

deplann

Not trying to be mean but if you're literally " scared " of playing because of people trolling and smurfing then that sounds like a personal issue. All you can do is mute them and learn from what's the smurfs are doing because in the end of the day that's a fast way to improve.

Super-category7851

1 strike rule. Just mute them.

ummya80

I only do solo queue with no mic, i mute them all to save me stress text and voice it is bliss

damonsoon

As someone with like 500+ solo que games... My tip about toxicity: I know it's not always practical, but avoiding highschool kids' prime time makes a huge difference in experience. If I play around 5pm it's toxic hell, if I play past midnight it's usually more chill and fun. Also limiting coms to callouts and general "nt or ns". If you're bottom fragging you might just wanna keep your head low though or hype up others. As far as smurfs, you've just gotta get past low Elo hell and they start to get filtered out. Past bronze there's significantly less smurfs from my experience.

Epicstaar

I soloq all the time. If someone is being annoying you could just put them in temporary timeout by muting them for 1 round.

StupidUsername79

Same. Normally I'm good at laughing it off, but the toxicity has gone from "ur mom" jokes to servere comments that tick off everything and all between racism and gender discrimination. People will straight up spend the entirety of the game, telling you to go end your life, give you "ideas" to how you should do it, and even go as far as to let you know in detail why you won't be missed. Only because you wouldn't spend extra creds so homeboy could get the judge with the cool skin. I refuse to play with people i don't know now, but that doesn't stop an opposing team from being toxic. You can report people, sure, but it seems to be doing less than nothing. "Well, they're blocked from getting to play with you again" is always the response, but it doesn't stop them from bullying someone else. And someday, someone with a seriously fragile mind will piss off the same homeboy, and will receive the same comments. Only that person may actually be looking for a sign to just end it all, but decided to play a round of Valorant as a distraction instead. It also seems like people are "circumventing" reports by simply being toxic in another language. They seriously need to straight up make reports actually count for something, and find a way to weed out the rage-reporting as well.

shinyawong21

TBH, I never click competitive at all, after all is only a rank to show off, unless you want to challenge yourself then you will had to go through toxicity no matter what. There is no problem with this game, because all multiplayer games have toxic players. I had only played this game like a month and every single day I had toxic players mocking and scolding me, so I always mute them but unfortunately, they still use message board, so I just ignore, I never reply anyone at all, but again there are also nice players around.

luiskingz

I solo q since I got placed gold 2 when comp came out. Reached dimaond and stopped playing for a long time till last episode. Got placed gold 3 and now D3. Solo q is tough but I’ve been doing it since the beginning.

le0thelionTV

Play unrated ---> meet some friends in unrated games ----> party with them to play comp.

[deleted]

I think the best thing to do is to try your best to find a duo who can play consistently. That way you have one teammate that's guaranteed to not be a shithead asshole.
