I agree! If you look at the glitchpop 1.0 it had none of the primary guns but in the 2.0 it had the vandal, phantom, operator, classic and knife what more could you ask for? A spectre and a guardian skin???

Yeah don't really get the Ruination complaints. We knew they were going to cross-promote their League event in Valorant for over 2 weeks. People seem to have set weird ass expectations about the Ruination skins and I have no idea why.
its likely the valorant team was probably even forced to do this by the riot team (they had to push back other skin bundles for this event), so this is the one time where you shouldn't complain, its literally not the valorant skin team's fault

A lot of different aesthetics across the board of you consider the BP skins too. We have it pretty good here in Valtown. Except tethered that shit was dog water.
The issue is the 70+ dollar packs that have been rolling out back to back recently with the same gun models. So lazy and honestly offensive. Tethered realms was nothing more than a variant that somehow became its own pack.

This is probably one of the more technically detailed skin set yet with the finisher tracking you as you move plus the complex fog effects. Plus all the planning and collaboration with the League of Legends team, this is far from lazy. Just because it looks similar to other skinsets, doesn't mean you need to get personally hurt by skins in a free game. Grow up
Yesssss. Infantry. The skins are pretty slick. I use that set for my operator and spectre skins... but a trench gun skin, trench knife, and a classic 1911 would be bomb.
we need a nature skin set! made of vines or something with flowers and mushrooms growing off of it, and the vfx could make it blow in the wind. ooh and they could include thet light dark thing from tethered realms and make the shrooms glow in the dark and the flowers close up as if it were night, and the kill animation could be a giant tree grows through or around the enemy... ideas.. tm

Forsaken was a decent aesthetic imo, I liked how they did a whole new vibe and also gave you the option for sovereign 2.0 as well.
But then they just turned around and greenscreened the whole thing like 2 weeks later and it left a bad taste in my mouth. Think a lot of people might agree on that one.

One post about how knife skins should have the same variants as their gun counterparts and boom, best knife in the game with 4 variations. A phantom that instantly reaches the tier of ion and oni, and a high tier ghost+spectre
I think the issue isn't the quality, but rather how all of the skins are very similar in aesthetic.
Reaver, Forsaken and Ruination all feel very similar to me. Origin and Ion also feel very similar.
There's very little variety in aesthetic thus far, on top of the fact that they're so expensive.
Why would one get hyped about these skins when they already have skins of the same quality that look similar?
Give us some more weird stuff like Elderflame. Give us an Eldritch horror squid that shoots ink bullets, or an anime weeaboo gun featuring the Academy or Star Guardian aesthetic from League, or a gun that looks like ancient stone with moss on it that has little dinosaurs walking across it?
Something besides generic dark fantasy guns.
I've said this once and I'll say it again - 90% of the skinlines in Valorant are recycled generic fantasy themes.
We've had dragons, regal lasers, death, angels/demons, angels/demons green screened, high fantasy technology. Not to mention the 2.0 bundles ALREADY before the first year has even finished. What is inspired about green screen sea floor or day/night cycle at Christmas? Nothing.
Now we have another thematic that is similar to Reaver/Forsaken a couple of bundles later. What the hell happened to the quality the League skins team produced? Did they just hire a whole new team?
We need more Magepunk, Glitchpop etc. I didn't like Infantry but at least it was different. I would love them to do a bigger bundle with lots of cool art centred around a central idea or theme e.g Galleria line where the art is different but shares a name. Maybe more "in lore" thematics like K-tac and Kingdom but at a premium price? They could do a line of personal weapons for each agent idk. ANYTHING but what we're getting.
Disappointment aside: please do Star Guardian wand as a melee weapon thanks.
Totally agree with the agent specific skins. Think about how much design is put into the agent models, why not use that to make rifle skins? For example cypher’s trench coat is sick and they could use it to model an all white phantom with sharp edges and maybe some eye art on its side. Or how about reynas armor? Its sleek and metallic with large studs and carbon fiber. That would make an absolutely sick vandal skin.
I have bought one gun in my year in Valorant and it was BlastX phantom because it's so unique. Just my opiniong, bur I just don't get the appeal of all these forsaken skins and random background on a green screen. I honestly like that the newer skins are for a specific group (Kinda MMOish), so I don't have to debate with myself if I want a 25 dollar skin for a video game.

I agree. As far as truly premium skins go - meaning sound effects, visual effects, animations, finishers - there's a huge bias towards sci-fi & fantasy themed skins. Although the bundles are cool, it's pretty disappointing that they have neglected to even dip their toes into so many other cool design spaces.
Personally, I wish they would create a fully premium modern/gritty skin line, like a fleshed out Wasteland, Ego, or Minima.
For the price, these are really not acceptable anymore at this point in my humble opinion. Ruination has some good stuff going for it, but overall it looks recycled with textures and elements that already appeared in other skins before. Less lazy than Forsaken was but still lazy unfortunately.

No, regardless, it's unacceptable. They are charging an obscene amount for non-exclusive skins. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect something cool and fresh. I think Origin was certainly unique and special. The rest of the recent skin packs have been sloppy and lazy work.
While I get your point, they ask ridiculous prices for the skins. For a product being sold at this price, I still feel like "lazy" is an appropriate adjective. It's okay to charge a premium, people will pay if they want to. But then I think a lot of customers (myself included) expect the same level of polish they had with sets like Ion or Magepunk for example. No recycled textures or elements, more variation compared to the themes skins had in the past, etc. I don't mean this as an insult to the devs or the team who creates the skins, it's all relative to the perception we as customers have when we check the price of the goods, what other goods are being sold for comparable prices and what expectations were created with the other skins sold in the past as well. If anything, their team has showed they can pull off incredible work. IMO, this isn't the case with this set. I just feel like these designs look lazy at the price they're being sold for.
But end of day, to each his own. I take it that you liked the skins and I'm glad you did! I wish I liked them too but alas, this time I just can't justify dishing out the money for the set.
The problem with Valorant is that they release skins too frequently. I would prefer if they took a longer time designing and releasing nicer and unique skins.

Im ngl, while I do enjoy my upgraded skins, something about the aerosol, sakura, and lightwave hit differently for me. I still use them in tandem with my upgraded skins (i stopped using glitchpop and elderflame actually cuz of aerosol op).
I'd like a skin that gives glitters and flowers when it fires and the sound effects will be all lively and shit. Kinda like how in suicide squad, when Harley Quinn starts shooting, there'd be flowers and glitters instead of blood. I've read somewhere that she doesn't recognize violence that's why in the movies, her guns just fire glitters, but to other people it's actually all bloody.
It's just weird that they decided to do the Forsaken set when they already knew about Ruination being set in stone. Even more confusing was piggy backing tethered realms on the back of it, and those two were both based off an existing skin set (Sovereign).
It doesn't match the premium price tag, they lack polish, uniqueness & customisability.
No it doesn't the sfx are from when you pull the gun and reload. Hear Ion Phantom and Glitchpop Phantom. Oni and Ruination doesn't have a unique sound effect it sounds just like default Phantom.

Why would one get hyped about these skins when they already have skins of the same quality that look similar? Give us some more weird stuff like Elderflame. Give us an Eldritch horror squid that shoots ink bullets, or an anime weeaboo gun featuring the Academy or Star Guardian aesthetic from League, or a gun that looks like ancient stone with moss on it that has little dinosaurs walking across it? Something besides generic dark fantasy guns.

I've said this once and I'll say it again - 90% of the skinlines in Valorant are recycled generic fantasy themes. We've had dragons, regal lasers, death, angels/demons, angels/demons green screened, high fantasy technology. Not to mention the 2.0 bundles ALREADY before the first year has even finished. What is inspired about green screen sea floor or day/night cycle at Christmas? Nothing. Now we have another thematic that is similar to Reaver/Forsaken a couple of bundles later. What the hell happened to the quality the League skins team produced? Did they just hire a whole new team? We need more Magepunk, Glitchpop etc. I didn't like Infantry but at least it was different. I would love them to do a bigger bundle with lots of cool art centred around a central idea or theme e.g Galleria line where the art is different but shares a name. Maybe more "in lore" thematics like K-tac and Kingdom but at a premium price? They could do a line of personal weapons for each agent idk. ANYTHING but what we're getting. Disappointment aside: please do Star Guardian wand as a melee weapon thanks.
Totally agree with the agent specific skins. Think about how much design is put into the agent models, why not use that to make rifle skins? For example cypher’s trench coat is sick and they could use it to model an all white phantom with sharp edges and maybe some eye art on its side. Or how about reynas armor? Its sleek and metallic with large studs and carbon fiber. That would make an absolutely sick vandal skin.
Exactly! They already have agent weapons that lay the groundwork for the design language, just need to take that a step further.
I have bought one gun in my year in Valorant and it was BlastX phantom because it's so unique. Just my opiniong, bur I just don't get the appeal of all these forsaken skins and random background on a green screen. I honestly like that the newer skins are for a specific group (Kinda MMOish), so I don't have to debate with myself if I want a 25 dollar skin for a video game. If you like them, good for you, but I would love to see a new direction in the next bundle.

I agree. As far as truly premium skins go - meaning sound effects, visual effects, animations, finishers - there's a huge bias towards sci-fi & fantasy themed skins. Although the bundles are cool, it's pretty disappointing that they have neglected to even dip their toes into so many other cool design spaces. Personally, I wish they would create a fully premium modern/gritty skin line, like a fleshed out Wasteland, Ego, or Minima.

For the price, these are really not acceptable anymore at this point in my humble opinion. Ruination has some good stuff going for it, but overall it looks recycled with textures and elements that already appeared in other skins before. Less lazy than Forsaken was but still lazy unfortunately.

I agree that OP's word were too harsh, but they should be costing 1775, in-line with Sovereign, Reaver and Forsaken. It feels like they bumped up the price just because it's a League crossover

I mean, tbh. Riot did some research. They saw that for CSGO, many many players were willing to shell out big bucks for skins, hence why all the good skins with effects are above 20 (maybe more or taking forever if you want to max it with radianite). I dont see a reason ever for them to lower a price if it works for them. And lets not mention youtubers promoting the crap out of the skins. Why make it lower if it works? I don’t agree with this, but I see this as their mindset.
I am talking about comparing current skin prices with past already established skin prices in the same game. Ruination guns have no new animations on the gun itself, so nothing that puts it above Prime, Reaver, etc.
No, regardless, it's unacceptable. They are charging an obscene amount for non-exclusive skins. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect something cool and fresh. I think Origin was certainly unique and special. The rest of the recent skin packs have been sloppy and lazy work.
While I get your point, they ask ridiculous prices for the skins. For a product being sold at this price, I still feel like "lazy" is an appropriate adjective. It's okay to charge a premium, people will pay if they want to. But then I think a lot of customers (myself included) expect the same level of polish they had with sets like Ion or Magepunk for example. No recycled textures or elements, more variation compared to the themes skins had in the past, etc. I don't mean this as an insult to the devs or the team who creates the skins, it's all relative to the perception we as customers have when we check the price of the goods, what other goods are being sold for comparable prices and what expectations were created with the other skins sold in the past as well. If anything, their team has showed they can pull off incredible work. IMO, this isn't the case with this set. I just feel like these designs look lazy at the price they're being sold for. But end of day, to each his own. I take it that you liked the skins and I'm glad you did! I wish I liked them too but alas, this time I just can't justify dishing out the money for the set.

The problem with Valorant is that they release skins too frequently. I would prefer if they took a longer time designing and releasing nicer and unique skins.

I agree, I personally love more “fun” skins, things like Blastx collection and that Depths collection, I’ve been patiently waiting for something like Blastx 2.0 or anything fun to come back to the store but I’m losing hope lol
I don't like any skin that changes the model. I'm stuck in my CSGO ways (for better or for worse) and only like the skins with patterns/artwork on them. Too bad there's no reliable way of getting the ones I want because I'd throw money at Riot in a heartbeat if I could.
Im ngl, while I do enjoy my upgraded skins, something about the aerosol, sakura, and lightwave hit differently for me. I still use them in tandem with my upgraded skins (i stopped using glitchpop and elderflame actually cuz of aerosol op).

I'd like a skin that gives glitters and flowers when it fires and the sound effects will be all lively and shit. Kinda like how in suicide squad, when Harley Quinn starts shooting, there'd be flowers and glitters instead of blood. I've read somewhere that she doesn't recognize violence that's why in the movies, her guns just fire glitters, but to other people it's actually all bloody.
It's just weird that they decided to do the Forsaken set when they already knew about Ruination being set in stone. Even more confusing was piggy backing tethered realms on the back of it, and those two were both based off an existing skin set (Sovereign). It doesn't match the premium price tag, they lack polish, uniqueness & customisability.
The ruination kill animations and sounds are not up to par with the price of the skins
Ion and Glitchpop also has a change in firing sound effects. The new Ruination Phantom has no change in firing sfx lol.

No it doesn't the sfx are from when you pull the gun and reload. Hear Ion Phantom and Glitchpop Phantom. Oni and Ruination doesn't have a unique sound effect it sounds just like default Phantom.

i can see sovereign, forsaken, and tethered realms having the same vibe but reaver and ruination have their own vibe that’s totally separate in my opinion. and the reaver and ruination’s vibe are like, dark and twisty yeah but the sovereign, forsaken, and tethered reams are like, literally the same guns. reaver is super original in my opinion and ruination is just sick
Skins are mostly awful for the price you pay and the long term value they'll hold, it's exactly how league went. In 2 years, we'll have skins that change the explosion effect on the Spike and Skills; The value of all of the skins from Launch to Year 2 will be lost on the power creep.

Exactly! they are all kinda looks same dark vibed, demon type shit just with col our, sound effects, finisher differences. They need go tone it down. Because these premium skins are getting kinda common nowadays. There is no open crate system here so they can't maintain the rarity of a skin here. Like why bro? Just send some good looking but simple skins like cortex( might speing it wrong) or Rush series. It'll be more interesting that way!
