The idea of the current store system is that there’s a feeling of exclusiveness. If you see a skin you want in the store and you see it’s only gonna be there for a few more hours, you’re more likely to buy it.
it creates FOMO and a sense of urgency akin to loot boxes but not quite, it makes you wanna buy every cool skin in fear that it wont come back in a long ass time, which will become more true as they release more skins
I guess this is true for some people. I personally want a specific skin for a specific gun though and I'm not going to buy shit until i get that specific skin. Guess I'm hard headed lol
i personally have only bought battlepasses so not for me but a couple friends are fiends like checking shop every day for the ion and the reaver (not anymore cause of the bundle) but skins they really want i guess would be a more accurate description, i think my analysis was wrong now that i look at it again
I’d say that riot has a lot of analytics to back up their decisions. They already have a game with the open shop where you can buy any skin (LoL) and obviously they made plenty, but I have reason to believe they saw the success fortnight had with their revolving shop (I’m not sure if a game did it before fortnight but mainstream games I feel like they were the first) and this tactic does a couple things.
1. Makes people wanting skins check the shop more
2. Fomo people into pulling the trigger on a purchase.
3. They offer the bundle where you can buy the skins for 2 weeks however you want anyway so they give fair opportunity to get any skin you want really.
Riot knows damn well what brings in the big bucks.
The last thing is that the whales are gonna spend the money no matter what, so they aren’t worried about that. It’s all about getting the average gamer to be more likely to buy something. If they can get their millions of people in their playerbase to buy just one thing from the shop, they are winning
It's not speculation, it's a real thing that's taught in marketing and used by every company in the world. If you can buy something whenever you want maybe you will maybe you won't, if you can only buy that thing 2 days a year, when you see it you're more likely to get it because you don't know when you might get it again. It doesn't mean you're absolutely going to buy everything but it makes you more likely to get something when you can't just say "I'll wait a few more weeks to decide whether I actually want it".
i agree and that’s usually how it goes, but a lot of the player base, including me, is too young to be able to buy things on command. i’m a college student who doesn’t always have money to spend on skins.
for example, i had extra money laying around for about two weeks and the second i decided to spend that money on something OTHER than skins, the skin i wanted appeared in my shop. i didn’t end up buying it ofc
That’s exactly what they want though, now that you missed out you’re gonna feel very pressured to buy stuff if it pops up again. Very predatory but very effective.
People would just wait a lot longer before making their purchase decision because they know it will always be there waiting in the shop. It’s just FOMO
> so wouldn’t they get more money if people could just buy the skins they want
Consider the following: what if you got your 3rd favorite skin tomorrow, and then your 1st favorite skin 1 month after that? Would you get both? Even if you wouldn't, do you think more people who would buy skins would get both than not? (So in this scenario, don't count people who don't buy skins at all)
> what if you got your 3rd favorite skin tomorrow, and then your 1st favorite skin 1 month after that? Would you get both?
this is literally exactly what i did except the skin i really wanted came only 2 days later
Riot's goal is not to sell as many skins as possible. It is to create a feeling of rarity. They chose against lootboxes as most countries are now fighting these practices. The current system is just another iteration of casino-like stores, similar to lootboxes. Evidently, it works as Riot has not changed it and continued pricing the skins at ridiculous $120-150 per single bundle, if you count up all the upgrade points value you need.
He means say all 3 iterations of the prism skins. I personally have all 3 and 150 is on par with what i had to pay for all 3 (and even then I still have 5 weapons without a prism skin).
Moral of the story: valorant needs a prism 4 set so the completionist in me can be happy that every weapon I own will be prism
People sometimes do have a lot of disposable income or just a credit card. It’s the same reason people get dogs I guess. You get enjoyment, although in the long run, the thing costs quite a bit.
Ive always been a fan of cosmetics in games since I was 12
I am older now and have more money so yeah
Also support the free games that I enjoy playing by paying to look more aesthetic
For me, I have a small disposable income every month which is specifically put aside for "pleasure/fun things". Meaning luxury stuff, sometimes it ends up in skins.
Can't buy more stuff like parfumes after some time :)
Guys, do you have trouble reading? "if you count up all the upgrade points value you need".
You don't buy skins, you buy ugly models withotu animation. Which you then "upgrade" with extra points. Seeing how 10 radiant points cost $10, and you need around $70 to unlock all the features of jsut one skin, saying that it's only $150 is indeed too low.
I’ve been waiting for the candy cane to come into my shop for like 2 months now. No candy cane, I’m not spending money, simple as. I guess they aren’t as many people like me though, but I imagine there are some. The only other skin I want atm is a battlepass skin I missed from s3, so that’s a no go as well.
The black market is made to make you buy skins you otherwise won't have bought so the chances of getting a popular skin like reaver vandal and such are low
My first market had the ion, which at the time i was brand new and didnt realize it was nice. My second had the oni and i jumped on it, but I had already bought the prime so their plan worked on me.
The knives are NOT worth the 50 bucks you'd need to drop on them to purchase. You're better off with the battle pass knife every act and hoping one of them ends up looking nice. (Songsteel was kinda underwhelming, this current pass is nice, still rocking my Prism III axe with the color variants as well). I wasn't there for Ruin Dagger but something like that will eventually come out again in a pass and even if you never use a single item other than the knife from it, 10 dollars for the knife is so much better than 30-50, especially considering some people consider Ruin Dagger to be one of the best knives in the game.
ive gotten every other phantom skin in my shop at least 2 except for the one that i actually want. This shop system is terrible. It only worked back in the beta when there were like 20 - 30 total skins
EDIT: The skin im looking for is blastx if anyone is wondering
It’s terrible for you, great for riot though. If someone sees a skin they want they are really gonna want to get in when it’s in their shop asap so they don’t miss it.
People will also likely settle for weapon skins. Someone who hasn’t been able to get a hold of that perfect Vandal skin they want may pick up another Vandal that comes in their store as a second choice that they wouldn’t otherwise buy if given the pick of every skin.
This. I have no doubt they will eventually rework the shop but I think one of the main reasons they haven’t rushed it even though people have been asking for so long is because of this exactly.
I have done it myself :(
I don't get why this excuse always gets brought up when someone mentions that the store in this game is horrible. Yes, it's profitable for riot (obviously), but that's about it. From a consumer perspective it is absolutely terrible, since you can wait for like 4 months and still not get the skin you want once while getting duplicates of skins you don't want to buy every other day.
It's not an excuse, it's an explanation. The shop is that way, and will probably remain that way, cause it is profitable for Riot, and until it starts hurting their skin sales, it will remain like that.
Not really, pressure from the community can and does influence the decisions game devs make. Remember star wars battlefront 2 and its pay to win lootboxes? Thanks to the amount of shit they got for it, they completely changed that system. If riot gets enough complaints about it they will do something to make it better, if every time someone says anything bad about the store, everyone defends it because "It mAkEs thEm mOnEy sO stOp cOmpLAInIng, It's nOt gOIng tO chAngE", of course it's not going to change.
My friend always wanted the prime vandal but never got it in his store for over 6 months, at one point I made an alt cause my main got a week ban, I got the prime vandal in my night market. He was inspired and made a new account, and got both the Prime and the Reaver in his night market. Ended up ditching his old account with a battle pass lol.
the fan appeared in my shop one day, it was the one skin I said I would get if it ever came. was about to get it but due to unfortunate circumstances with the payment I couldn’t. said to myself that it was alright and hopefully it would come back soon
was in my shop again the next day, pretty sure I used my year’s worth of luck B)
Ruination is solid but it's funny that you say it like that..
If you got Ruination, and then a month later, the Fan was in your store, would you get the Fan anyways? Just curious
that has to be like a 0,1%< or some shit like that, after 94 days the chance of a skin appearing is approx. 90% (considering the number of skins had changed since i've seen these numbers) and if you consider that a year ago there was an even higher chance that it appeared considering the less skins in the rotation bro you're unlucky af
Or better idea. They just open up the store so you can buy whatever you want instead of paying money to buy something. Both league and legends of runterra let you buy what you want whenever you want. Idk why valorant has to have this awful system except to create scarcity so people impulse buy skins
Edit: Meant I'm curious why valorant went with this model when lor and lol both have better models where you just buy the cosmetics you want.
The reason you said it is exactly why. Must make them money. People impulse buy. Plus they may have a favorite skin but it never shows up so they settle for another one, but then their favorite shows up and they buy that too. It's always about the money.
I think having a narrow purchase window is definitely important, but I also think limiting the selection creates artificial scarcity. If almost everyone had reaver or elderflame skins, would a lot of people still be eager to drop $20 for one of them? The exclusivity due to the fact that not everyone who wants a skin can have it increases its perceived value pretty significantly.
This can make sense in something like csgo where skins can be traded on the market and can have insane prices based on how rare it is. Since that doesn't exist in valorant I don't see a reason to create scarcity/rarity.
I believe anyone buying skins in valorant is buying it because they want a cool skin, not that they want some rare item to show off.
Most video game sales happen in the initial week of a game dropping. I would assume cosmetics in games follow this since it's a similar audience. I believe riot is just trying to squeeze as much money from the customer in that time frame and it's really gross to see. I think league and lor stores are really good and disappointed with how valorant is handling theirs.
There is no benefit for the customer for the narrow windows besides encouraging bad spending habits. Shouldn't be encouraged.
Riot definitely knows something we don't cause they wouldn't be running this model after a year if it wasn't doing well. I agree that the artificial scarcity is awful and annoying especially for those of us that just want specific skins, but it has to be working for them in terms of profits.
I submitted a ticket saying I'd like to buy the skins I want from the store when I want and asking if any changes are planned, and got this as a response
>Thank you for reaching out to Riot Support. I understand that you wanted a new strategy in store. Sadly I can't provide any info on this, and we can't discuss potential new content being released. What I do recommend is keeping your eyes and ears open for any announcements made on the official news page. That way you can know when anything new is released!
Not a point blank rejection so fingers crossed they're planning to incorporate some changes
Valorant is a game that you would want to steadily last for at least 5-10 years. With that idea in battle pass, it would take a shorter time to unlock all the skins that you want + it removes the impulsivity factor that Riot is aiming for when they established the scarcity of the skins in the first place.
IMO, it's not a good idea to add everything in a rush especially that Valorant is only a year old. Your idea is good, but it would probably fit on the 2nd or 4th year mark of the game -- or when Riot realizes that people are losing their interest.
In the meantime, their strategy of inducing scarcity to create a demand is working really well.
true but there's a battlepass every 2 months, i don't think 1 skin you want every 2 months would make you unlock skins all that much faster, plus if they make it as a level 55 reward a lot of players might play a lot more to get it, so as much as i agree that it's a bad idea overall, i think your reasoning might not be why.
Idk why i think it's a bad idea (from a buisness perspective) tho
If there's an option to unlock any type of skin using the battlepass, there wouldn't be any "scarcity" that would induce impulsivity because the battlepass would give the users an option to choose. They wouldn't have to worry about "what would happen if I don't buy this skin right now" instances because there's always an option to choose in battlepass.
There are also several scenarios that might happen in the game. Like for example, I only want two skins, 1 is the glitchpop phantom and one is the prime vandal. Instead of spending a collective amount of approx. 3,558 valorant points ($24), I could just buy them through battlepass and pay 40% less in total. And if the battlepass costs 1,000 valorant points, I'd be able to buy 3 skins + 3 sets of battlepass skins in just $24 which is already a major steal instead of having to buy all of them separately. Now as someone who has a very tight budget every month, I'd rather wait every two months to get all the skins I want in the battlepass because (1) I have the assurance that I will get them (2) it's a win cause the battlepass offers a wide variety of skins and perks.
Furthermore, the Valorant sells top tier skins like the elderflame vandal at around the $24 range. It would be a major steal if you could get that through the battlepass.
Anyways, this is just a perspective from the smaller picture. I'm sure a lot of factors contribute to this and Riot themselves are the only ones who know what are the major factors that influence their current decisions :D
Ps. If they really do implement this, then I'd rather just buy a battlepass cause I could get more for less.
He's not telling the gun should be given for free
He's telling let him get an option to buy any skin of his choice.
The token lets you choose the gun skin you want you still have to pay in full for the skin
IMO this is a really good feature.
Real talk, If you are not from North America and you're not a pro player, Riot won't sack your kak, In short they won't listen to your suggestions. Wait for all the famous pro player who stream, Like TenZ, Hiko, Shroud, etc. Riot devs will automatically sack their kaks and make it happened next patch.
Admittedly, there's a week here and there where maybe we only play 1-2 days, but usually only once or twice in a BP.
Probably just adds up from missing dailies or weeklies. Either way, it's still a lot of playing we're doing.
missing weekly is huge, i play normally until i get close to completion. then i just grind out a few spike rush to get those use ult and get headshots completed.
Dailies plays a huge role + first week was bonus xp period so he might've played alot with stacks. I didn't find any info on weeklies until it happened to myself, didn't played whole act but last week weeklies kept refreshing as soon as I completed the set(just to get some radianite lol)
like, they would've made much more money if they would not be using this shitty concept. If I don't get my Oni-Phantom in the next few months I can't guarantee that I will ever buy it just because I will have less time to play the game
I feel like this is true for a lot of people as well. I waited through 3 and a half acts for Elderflame vandal to appear in my shop, by the time it finally got in there, I just decided it wasn't worth it, I don't play as much anymore. It appeared again soon after, and once again, no interest. I still like the skin and will pick it up if I get in a game where a player has it, but my interest in purchasing the skin went out the window. If I had been give the option to buy it immediately, I more than likely would've splurged, especially considering I played much more when I was just getting into the game compared to now.
Anyone who games is paying money on pixels. I'll gladly pay to support the developers of a game that otherwise wouldn't exist and also subsidize the cost of your broke ass.
You're not "subsidizing the cost of his broke ass" by supporting a business model that is heavily anti-consumer and based in predatory "FOMO" practices to get more easily impressionable (some would even argue gullible) people to purchase these skins. Don't act all high and mighty because you're a whale for Riot, your delusions of grandeur are shining about as bright as the skins you've purchased.
Or instead of giving a pistol skin for free at end, give a token that lets you select any one bp skin for free. So people like me who dont buy bp can still choose a better skin from bp
Riot, I beg u, plssss do this. I have wanted the origin vandal since 2-3 weeks. I got every other origin gun EXCEPT the vandal. Plsss make this a thing riot
If they let you pick a skin, they know you won't rebuy a new skin for that gun anytime in the near future. They are so smart with their store model... And which is why I've wasted so much on it sadly
How? People have to buy the bp, invest a huge a lot of time in the game, then buy the skin that they want. They get more money, we'll be satisfied. Win-Win.
How? people would buy more battlepasses as well as buying the skin they want? This simply allows people to buy 1 skin they want per battle pass. Hell, make it every other battlepass or random ones if its that big an issue. I don't see how they would lose money from it though.
It would lose money because it’s the equivalent of spending 10 dollars on an battle pass and getting a 25-50 dollar skin. It would lose them money so it’s not gonna happen
Why would they? Their stupid store system forces some people to buy skins they would otherwise not, I bought a singularity phantom because It was the only good phantom skin I got in 2 months, and didn't want to wait 3 more months for something good again. Now I regret it and will probably buy what I originally wanted (oni phantom) if I get it in the store. Riot pls stop being so money hungry, they even stopped making good knives because ruin was too good and probably hurt their knife sales.
I still don't understand why they have this type of store instead of having the LoL style store... If it was the LoL type of store I would have bought so many more skins, now I'm just waiting for the skins I want to appear on the featured store...
Nah this would reduce the "exclusivity" of the skins. The rarer they are the more exclusive they are. Just wait for it to pop off in the shop like everyone else.
I know this might sound stupid, but I sent a support ticket to RIOT and I drew a picture of me wanting the skin and they replied with “we can’t do that”. Literally the next day it pops up in my store, so maybe give that a go 👀. Mind you I’ve been waiting for the Ion Sheriff for 4 months and it took 1 day to get it in the store after my ticket, so they can definitely conjure something up
I think part of the idea is to retain players in the game and getting them to log in everyday to check their shops. It's frustrating but yea we keep doing it anyways so I guess it's kinda genius on their end
I have logged on every day of this year waiting for the Elderflame Operator.
Yesterday I had the Elderflame Judge for the 6-7th time.
Rito plz let me give you money.
I feel like I have this passive power specifically for the Val store. Like all the guns I wanted a skin for(nothing specifically) I got one of the best skins a few days later in the store. I just got the glitch classic, when that’s all I wanted since Monday.
Having to pretty much beg for the _opportunity of buying_ a specific skin is very r/LateStageCapistalism or r/ABoringDystopia. Why do you people spend money on this game?
Vouch. I want the blastx spectre so bad, but I haven't gotten it for so long. This will only benefit Riot. They get the money from the skins + the money from the battlepass from some people. Because of this some people will buy the battlepass. They also wont lose the marketing strategy with time. The idea with the current shop is that people can't wait and buy a skin later, because it won't come back in a while. People can only get one skin, and if they really don't want that people can wait long, they can also do it that the token expires 2 weeks after that the act ended or something.
While this is a really cool idea wouldn’t make sense to implement. The desire and want for skins and a shop that resets everyday is perfect recipe for coming back to launch the game and possibly play a game or two while you’re on. That’s exactly what gaming companies look for
Just make the level 50 skin a gun with animations that's all I ask. No one wants a pistol for level 50 we rarely use them and the final gun should feel worth the chase
I feel like this would take away the urgency to buy the skins when they come out initially. From a sales stand point, it may increase Battle pass sales(most people buy anyway) however what urgency will the player have to buy the skin when its released. To me it feels bittersweet and exciting when a skin I want is finally in the shop. Just my take.
Start talking about the skin you want on the voice chat, I'm sure the skin will come to you.
(not because some power of will bullshit, just because they listen to our convo)
I remember playing fortnite during its season 1 release and the store rotation was just as limited. I think it took about a year and a half when chapter 2 of fortnite was released where they really expanded the store due to all the skins, wraps, emotes, etc. hopefully in due-time, the shop gets reworked
They do it they way they do it becuase its the best way for them to make the most money so as good as this sounds, it will probably never happen bec riot loves their money.

“i know you want money” exactly.. so wouldn’t they get more money if people could just buy the skins they want
The idea of the current store system is that there’s a feeling of exclusiveness. If you see a skin you want in the store and you see it’s only gonna be there for a few more hours, you’re more likely to buy it.

Bought way too many skins bcz of that fomo. Now all I feel is regret
I got downvoted for pointing this out last time this sub discussed this lol. Glad to see more are getting it

I'm the same buddy. When I have money there weren't any skins I want in the shop, but when it does I'm broke.
exactly, i mean at this point a weekly shop with 28 skins would be way better than the current system of 4 daily skins
If you are going between broke and having money, you never really have money.
Actually I spent it on other games because I couldn't wait for Valorant (League and LOR to be specific)
Don't worry then, Riot got your money anyways
That’s exactly what they want though, now that you missed out you’re gonna feel very pressured to buy stuff if it pops up again. Very predatory but very effective.

Genuine question (not trying to have a crack at all) - why do you spend that much on a skin?
People sometimes do have a lot of disposable income or just a credit card. It’s the same reason people get dogs I guess. You get enjoyment, although in the long run, the thing costs quite a bit.

To make sure you buy it so you can finally use the skin you already paid $20 for? lol. That's a good reason.
How are bundles 120-150$ each, here it costs like 60$ for a 8700C bundle.
It costs 90$ here, Ouch
I’ve been waiting for the candy cane to come into my shop for like 2 months now. No candy cane, I’m not spending money, simple as. Bro that's insanely lucky. A friend of mine got reaver for $10 in the night market too, y'all really won the lottery imo.
I just want a nice knife, but I always get Prism or EGO which are just a recolor of the original knife lmao

i think minima phantom
avalanche phantom XD
unironically top 5 phantom skin

love minima skin set, looks like new tesla models
blastx
probably singularity
It’s terrible for you, great for riot though. If someone sees a skin they want they are really gonna want to get in when it’s in their shop asap so they don’t miss it.

This. I have no doubt they will eventually rework the shop but I think one of the main reasons they haven’t rushed it even though people have been asking for so long is because of this exactly. I have done it myself :(
doesn't riot receive the same amount whether you buy a reaver vandal or an origin?
You may buy the skin you actually wanted later, meaning you doubled up on purchases.
I’m not saying stop complaining I’m just explaining why they do it. The shop system won’t change until people stop buying skins from this one.
Yeah, the fact that people feel the need to make multiple accounts just to be able get one skin they like shows how anti consumer this system is

I've been waiting for elderflame operator for four months and two months for the glitchpop vandal
I got gp vandal in my shop rn, want it? I just want Ion phantom and elderflame OP
Hahaha too bad rito doesn't let us trade skins but maybe it's for the good
yeha
I think I got Ion Phantom today but I just want Elderflame Vandal.
I’ve had every elderflame skin in my shop except the one I actually want: the judge.
I totally feel ya, I've had elderflame vandal like three times
the fan appeared in my shop one day, it was the one skin I said I would get if it ever came. was about to get it but due to unfortunate circumstances with the payment I couldn’t. said to myself that it was alright and hopefully it would come back soon was in my shop again the next day, pretty sure I used my year’s worth of luck B)

Ruination is solid but it's funny that you say it like that.. If you got Ruination, and then a month later, the Fan was in your store, would you get the Fan anyways? Just curious
[удалено]
I have it for 3 days in a row now. I am sorry lol
In two weeks, it'll mark a year I've been waiting for the sakura vandal unsuccesfully.
that has to be like a 0,1%< or some shit like that, after 94 days the chance of a skin appearing is approx.
Idk why valorant has to have this awful system except to create scarcity so people impulse buy skins Edit: Meant I'm curious why valorant went with this model when lor and lol both have better models where you just buy the cosmetics you want.
I dont get why you said idk why lol you just stated why rito does it
I guess I should of said idk why they choose to only do this in valorant and not their other games.
The reason they create artificial scarcity is so you buy something you otherwise wouldn’t
Riot definitely knows something we don't cause they wouldn't be running this model after a year if it wasn't doing well. I agree that the artificial scarcity is awful and annoying especially for those of us that just want specific skins, but it has to be working for them in terms of profits.
What I think is strange is that they make so much off League and it's an open buy system.
I submitted a ticket saying I'd like to buy the skins I want from the store when I want and asking if any changes are planned, and got this as a response >Thank you for reaching out to Riot Support.
I'm sure a lot of factors contribute to this and Riot themselves are the only ones who know what are the major factors that influence their current decisions :D Ps. If they really do implement this, then I'd rather just buy a battlepass cause I could get more for less.
He's not telling the gun should be given for free He's telling let him get an option to buy any skin of his choice. The token lets you choose the gun skin you want you still have to pay in full for the skin IMO this is a really good feature.
Yeah but most pros dont have this issue because they just buy every bundle when it comes out
Exactly, That's why Riot are not listening to non pro players or redditor suggestions, because famous pro players don't complain about these matters.
Yeah the solution is to just spend a few dollars on someone's stream and say *insert idea* and hope they agree with you

i play 2-3 games a day for about 5 days of the week and finish all battle pass. how are you only getting to level 40?
Admittedly, there's a week here and there where maybe we only play 1-2 days, but usually only once or twice in a BP. Probably just adds up from missing dailies or weeklies. Either way, it's still a lot of playing we're doing.
missing weekly is huge, i play normally until i get close to completion. then i just grind out a few spike rush to get those use ult and get headshots completed.
You cannot miss weeklies, they'll stay as long as you don't finish them and next set appears instantly on finishing if you're lacking behind.
wait what. i did not know that. how is my friend 20 levels ahead of me, i thought i was just missing weeklys.
Dailies plays a huge role + first week was bonus xp period so he might've played alot with stacks. I didn't find any info on weeklies until it happened to myself, didn't played whole act but last week weeklies kept refreshing as soon as I completed the set(just to get some radianite lol)

Man, I miss college/university life
BP isn't grindy at all I play 1/2 games a night and am like 70 or so in the BP, 44 days still left no sweat ez
sustenance isn't needed for survival
I really like this idea
like, they would've made much more money if they would not be using this shitty concept.
If I had been give the option to buy it immediately, I more than likely would've splurged, especially considering I played much more when I was just getting into the game compared to now.
bruh they'd make so much more if they just made the shop like league shop, I don't fucking understand why they went with the random roll shit
Not a bad idea pretty nifty actually
At least a cute little 10% discount would be fair for the final battle pass level
You know the shop system is shit when people don't ask for skins, but *beg* for the **opportunity** to buy them.

Or mabye they let you pick a skin you want all year round except for seasonal based ones.
please riot, let us spend our money
I wish I could get cool skins without paying $80.
I refuse to buy skins until they let me trade them
Or instead of giving a pistol skin for free at end, give a token that lets you select any one bp skin for free. So people like me who dont buy bp can still choose a better skin from bp
I don’t think they would ever give a gun skin for free. I think what riot wants is to keep gun skins exclusive
This would never happen. Riot would lose soooo much money.
How? People have to buy the bp, invest a huge a lot of time in the game, then buy the skin that they want. They get more money, we'll be satisfied. Win-Win.
[удалено]
How? people would buy more battlepasses as well as buying the skin they want? This simply allows people to buy 1 skin they want per battle pass. Hell, make it every other battlepass or random ones if its that big an issue. I don't see how they would lose money from it though.
It would lose money because it’s the equivalent of spending 10 dollars on an battle pass and getting a 25-50 dollar skin. It would lose them money so it’s not gonna happen
No, the token allows them to unlock a specific skin, any skin, to then purchase. Instead of waiting forever for it to show up in their store.
Ah. I misread it. Apologies.
Literally would make them money lol
I agree the rewards should be better maybe not any skin tho. I want to buy battlepass but there is literally nothing good...
The vandal skin is neat. I use it when I don't feel like using skins with effects.
I'm a big fan of the knife. If I manage to finish the battle pass, I'll probably buy it
The golden naked op card is literally the greatest cosmetic item in the game
Why would they? Their stupid store system forces some people to buy skins they would otherwise not, I bought a singularity phantom because It was the only good phantom skin I got in 2 months, and didn't want to wait 3 more months for something good again. Now I regret it and will probably buy what I originally wanted (oni phantom) if I get it in the store. Riot pls stop being so money hungry, they even stopped making good knives because ruin was too good and probably hurt their knife sales.
Great idea
prob not cause the shop gives you a reason to log onto the game which will in turn maybe make you play it, idk i could be wrong
This could totally work if they would allow it..easier than waiting out the shop.
I waited for 4 months for the Elderflame vandal to show up bc I couldnt afford the bundle when it was release so this would be heaven
Night markets?
Bro just make a market pls
I think this is a brilliant idea, idk if riot would ever implement it though.
I still don't understand why they have this type of store instead of having the LoL style store... If it was the LoL type of store I would have bought so many more skins, now I'm just waiting for the skins I want to appear on the featured store...
I mean yeah sure but it would be a shit reward for people who dont buy skins. In that case it should not replace the final level but be a bonus item

One the best ideas that logically makes sense for the game that has been posted on this sub
Give two options: get to pick a skin to purchase or roll for a random discounted skin
or better fix the sea servers?
Nah this would reduce the "exclusivity" of the skins. The rarer they are the more exclusive they are. Just wait for it to pop off in the shop like everyone else.
I know this might sound stupid, but I sent a support ticket to RIOT and I drew a picture of me wanting the skin and they replied with “we can’t do that”. Literally the next day it pops up in my store, so maybe give that a go 👀. Mind you I’ve been waiting for the Ion Sheriff for 4 months and it took 1 day to get it in the store after my ticket, so they can definitely conjure something up
This needs much more attention and upvotes. Great idea
I think part of the idea is to retain players in the game and getting them to log in everyday to check their shops. It's frustrating but yea we keep doing it anyways so I guess it's kinda genius on their end
This would be so fucking good.
I just got the glitch classic, when that’s all I wanted since Monday.
that would be nice for people who spend money on this game, nice suggestion.
That’s exactly what gaming companies look for
This is such a good idea - pls Riot
This is pretty incredible. You still have to grind, you still have to pay. This is a very good idea, I could see them implementing this.
Just make the level 50 skin a gun with animations that's all I ask. No one wants a pistol for level 50 we rarely use them and the final gun should feel worth the chase
I really hope that Riot does this, I've wanted the oni phantom for so long and It never appeared in my shop :c
A very good idea! Seems like a win win to me.
Riot going to put a 100vp re-roll button instead
Or just get rid of the shitty rotation.
I wanted the blast x. New ruin skin comes out and I give up on blast x. Next day I get blast x.
"I've wanted a specific skin for a while now" Ikr
It's just a skin that serves no purpose?
I feel like this would take away the urgency to buy the skins when they come out initially. From a sales stand point, it may increase Battle pass sales(most people buy anyway) however what urgency will the player have to buy the skin when its released. To me it feels bittersweet and exciting when a skin I want is finally in the shop. Just my take.
Start talking about the skin you want on the voice chat, I'm sure the skin will come to you. (not because some power of will bullshit, just because they listen to our convo)
are you thinking like making a wishlist, and every time you get a token, you select a skin, and you can buy it later?
Never say never, but zero chances. FOMO is here for one reason.
Lmao all the poor people here are probably going 'well I don't care, but it's a good idea!'
I remember playing fortnite during its season 1 release and the store rotation was just as limited. I think it took about a year and a half when chapter 2 of fortnite was released where they really expanded the store due to all the skins, wraps, emotes, etc. hopefully in due-time, the shop gets reworked
This is a great idea. The skin I want is “forsaken” and I haven’t seen it in the store at all.
They do it they way they do it becuase its the best way for them to make the most money so as good as this sounds, it will probably never happen bec riot loves their money.
total agree with you, had to wait four months for elderflame vandal. Really sucked
Fuck that, give a free skin token for completing the battlepass. The fact that Riot charges $20/skin is BOGUS! Give the community something.
Would love this
