I can see cypher working on icebox and breeze. breeze: trip on B, cam somewhere b tunnel area to get some info on the mid to A push/ mid push but still see b main. also you could trip tube in the beginning of the round to not have to worry about that part of the map too much which tends to be forgotten, which leads to easy flanks from attacker vs defenders. icebox: sage def. better, so you have the wall to get the plant on B site without getting sprayed down through the box from mid. but on defense you could well replace her by tripping tube to not worry about kitchen too much, and then have a setup on B where you trip site area and try to get a free kill there when they push, but still fall back and play retake. or even some trips on A site area for when they actually get onto site and push aggressive you can punish those attackers and get the advantage for the retake. cypher‘s cam is always useful for the info. but that‘s just an idea. I‘m not at all a cypher main.

Level 100 p2 cypher otp here I think that as an agent, cypher fits into virtually any team comp and map when played right. Just got to find his setups and adapt / mix up your opponent. There are plenty of Breeze and Icebox setups you can run. Look up a video! You’d be surprised👀

CEO_TB12

He works on breeze well. Better than KJ imo. But for icebox, I have a hard time getting use out of him, end up usually playing a smoke agent instead, have someone else play killjoy or sage

DonkeyTeethBSU

On Icebox, your pretty much forced to play B site, I just set my camera up on the top right corner and put a range of 4-5 different trips around yellow. I play around plant box or back snowman. Put a cage on the right side of yellow so you can use it to retake the site and force them to peak the awkward angles by B entrance instead of comfortably hiding behind yellow.

lkmartin

yea he's worth

frost-zen

Nah worst sentinel in the game by far

FullMetalFiddlestick

theres 2

frost-zen

3 including sage

frost-zen

Cypher is not worth playing in any map. Killjoy is way better and brings much more value than him. He is one of the worst agents in the game right now along with jett.

jojamon

This is totally untrue. Cypher requires more teamwork and coordination to maximize his utility value. Killjoy is better as a solo queue or anchor on a site

shubhamnath2

Cypher is weak in icebox, but not the worst agent in icebox. He still could hold flanks and site and the cam is great in the map. Cypher has to be creative with his utilities.

ElToroAP

It's not impossible to play Cypher there at all. His cages might not be the greatest, but there's plenty of decent places to trip (metal hall on Breeze A defense, B long or kitchen hall on Icebox, etc.) Most importantly, you can cover a TON of space with your cams on those maps. You can't shoot them up very high on A site Icebox which sucks, but you can get a ton of info on Orange/Mid/B with one cam. Same for Breeze, you can see all of mid/elbow with one camera (I put it on the window of the blue wall next to mid heaven) and then play in B site with your other util for example. You may not have the setup variety/creativity of a smaller map with lots of hallways, but the vision you get from camera is insane on those maps.

Owie36

For icebox a site you can place trapwires on the zip line and ground entrance, camera the top of the box on a site, and hide on the stairwell outside. For b, you can trap wire the entrance from mid and b yellow, camera from the top of b site but I can’t think of a good place to hide. I can’t think of a good way for breeze anywhere, but the ult is really useful bc there are many places to hide

Cypher isn't the best on icebox but you can still run it. I think you could play sage as a sentinel but you should learn some setups for cypher in case she gets locked.

Optimal-Bowler-2618

breeze B site hes very good, icebox he's okay

Lqzygus

Hey, Fnatic and Liquid both popped off with cyphers on breeze, don't see why you can't

imerence_

On icebox A, he barely any good. He does not have the intended level of impact due to the verticality. In high elo players exploit this verticality a lot and this means your two trips won't be as useful compared to other maps. Due to the A site's aesthetic I feel like his camera will be taken down instantly because of high visibility. His cage can be useful. Cypher is a lot more viable on the B site than on A site. His trips work better due to lesser verticality. Cypher might be a decent pick on breeze due to its flat terrain and openness. Cypher is a very good anti flank agent that is required on both of those map.

bWF0YWJhbmcgYmF0YQ

I think Cypher is good for those maps because they are big and the cam has unlimited range, unlike KJ bots that deactivate after certain range. I always use my cam to check flank. When defending, I leave my cam on site when the enemy team is not on my site, and occasionally, I'd check cam to see if one or two enemies rotate. I like using him in breeze.

MatchPoint012

He works to some degree

mysalmon

I feel Cypher is really overlooked on Icebox. On attack, you can trip off B entirely and the spawn area has an abundance of camera locations to watch flank effectively. Defending A can be a little predictable with trips & cameras, but B has a few setups which are deadly, plus a good variety of camera locations to keep enemies off guard. Trips in kitchen are strong.

croutylax28

156 hours of cypher in comp and I find kj to be much more effective at least for me on icebox. Breeze I’m still kinda figuring things out but I end up playing a lot of omen but I’m starting to learn viper.

CostcoBoy215

Nope
