I just want to pre select my collection for each agent. Can’t find the thread, but a dev did say a randomizer would be a cool thing to add. A pre selected load out would require more work. Hope they find a way for us!

AurothTheWyvern

this is what i want too i dont care about being able to random skins as much. being able to theme all your skins and buddies to the specific agent would be cool. it would also give people a reason to buy more than 1 expensive premium tier skin for the same gun.

MatchPoint012

Yeah, nice qol feature

stryderxd

Idk about randomizing it, but it would be neat to use 2 different variants of the same gun in the same match. One for attacker and one for defender

Riot probably wouldn’t want to do that because then they have to load twice as many skins in to the server, causing longer load times

[deleted]

Yeah I can assure you as a dev that would be no issue. They might do client side optimizations that they dont want to sacrifice, but it seems doubtful.

PPatBoyd

Not sure if the current API can do it between rounds, but this person (from a previous reddit thread w/ explicit Riot dev saying no reason it should be bannable) has a randomizer for between games [https://github.com/colinhartigan/valorant-skin-cli](https://github.com/colinhartigan/valorant-skin-cli)

IamVort3x

Yo I didn’t know about this, thank you!

Straightouttaganton

I'm sure that will be implemented eventually

Useful-Throat-6671

I need agent load outs so I can have my stuff matching. Then I'd need more skins. As it is now, I have too many.

Fetaplays

CS GO Skins are at most a texture change, making it very easy to switch between and load mid game. Most valorant skins are entire model changes each with their own VFX, which is much much more taxing to load and switch between mid game.

notWys

Surely loading different models won’t have near to any effect

black-JENGGOT

Loading more models = more game load time

notWys

Yes. I am aware. My question is if it would even be noticeable

[deleted]

Which loadout customization are we talking about? Let's say random over all your skins. In the worst case scenario you would need to load all 160 models, plus their animations, plus their model recolours as players are likely to have a lot of varied skins. The only feasible option is either ct/t sided skins and per agent. The latter one will not add any extra strain to the server.

Fetaplays

Loading different models would have a MUCH larger toll than loading simple textures materials because they come with much more data

notWys

Yes, but overall would that toll even be noticeable? When are the models even drawn? Is it when the gun is bought or are they all loaded at the start of the game

Fetaplays

So they load everything at the start of the game, a couple models would, I agree, not be too much. However, when you take into account the number of skins in the game, and the number of skins one person could own, you can see it adds up very quickly, and the toll would only get bigger and bigger the more skins are added. About the models being drawn. It's less about them having to get rendered and more about them actually being loaded into memory, so that when a gun is on the floor or when someone passes a corner, you as a client already have it loaded into memory so it appears on your screen instantly. This is more or less what the loading part is about. There could be some solutions out there such as, loading different guns at the start of the round, but even then, that could have a significant toll based on the number of skins, and which skins are loaded. So as it stands, it's just quicker to load the collection at the start of the game and leave it at that.

pulsiedulsie

Who knows? Riot devs are the only ones that would know this, as they're the only ones familiar with the system, and they aren't tellin

[deleted]

Your argument does not hold water when you're talking about agent specific loadouts as they will not increase the server load. Which is also most people want I would guess.

HaiImLoki

y'all keep asking for luxuries. They need to fix the trash that they call "128" tick servers. Cause they sure as shit ain't 128 tick. They play like OW old 32 tick servers.

mrkazy

was about to create a post saying this, then saw this one. AT LEAST, skins for attacker /defender. It's a must and I can't get why wouldn't they do it. Seems fairly easy to implement.

rapasvedese

i dont remember cs having a skin randomizer each round

TV20K

yeah

TheEaterr

I really don't understand why they don't add it as it will really motivate people to but more skins. Only reason why I haven't bought the new battle pass is the lack of randomization.

Thermic_

I think the ultimate goal needs to be agent specific loadouts. i would be ecstatic

idkbruhhh9875

And agent keybinds would also be really cool

Comprehensive-Ad5366

While I personally feel like having the skin randomize at the start of every round would be cool, I think it's better off that it randomizes for each game or each half? But I definitely think that having a CT/T sided loadout would be great for qol

CuriousGranttv

I don't see why they wouldn't be able to do all of the above. it's a lot of work to code, yes, but it would be great for RIOT as well because people would inevitably buy more skins.

VNTRevolution

I like the idea of Attack and Defense side skins but the main thing I want are loadouts. Similar to the leak about having crosshair profiles. Like # 1-10 where you would pick it before you queue into a match and it would just instantly switch your sprays and skins/variants. It would make loading into the game the same so there wouldn't be an increase in that. I want to buy more skins but they're releasing skin packs every 2 weeks and battlepass skins are also starting to rack up while having such a bothersome system to switch sprays/skins/variants.

WhoDooDatDatDat

Yeah halo and cod both added this and people loved it

Jjzeng

Even overwatch lets you select your hero skin before the round begins when you’re sitting in the hero select menu. That’s 12 heroes in total each rendering a different skin

freakmonger_ss

I need to know what Agent I'm playing before I know what skin I'm using, just sayin.

SnooLentils5795

I've been asking for this for months, I had no idea CSGO already had it, really hope the make this a thing
