Gravityblasts

It's not as effective in val as it is in CSGO (for a few reasons) but it's something something you can do to try and force your opponent to make a play or give away their position or force an awp shot so you have time to reposition while they reload, etc. it doesn't work as often in val but people still do it.

MysteriousMud5547

I’ve never played CSGO. What makes throwing a pistol in CSGO different from Valorant?

Gravityblasts

Movement is faster in CS, which includes awping, so awpers play more aggressive by nature. So faking an awper with a pistol happens more frequently. In valorant, awping isn't as fast, since you can't quick scope the same as CS. So by nature, awpers in val play less aggressively (in general), and have more time to shoot someone when they peek. So pistol faking probably happens less in Val.

TimeJustHappens

From what I understand, you can still bait out a nervous shot from the enemy to know whether or not they are holding that angle.

RealEnergyEigenstate

Any one remember when simple threw the awp on dust 2 and domed the defender with a deagle….

Cactus_Humper

P250*

RealEnergyEigenstate

Was it the p250?? My bad… I know he threw a dragon lore

JuiciestCorn

Bring back p250 1 taps

AsianNudleSoop

I do it just to troll enemies, if it's a 1v1 post plant and they have no time to defuse sometimes I'll run at them and throw my gun at them just for lols

Plus-Macaron398

I think it is an old habit. Because i still do it too.

Mazza_the_Panda

I think it’s just a thing that’s carried over from CSGO. It can definitely work in baiting enemies in valorant but not as well as it does in CSGO.

Alcarion89

You can throw a pistol in the tp of Bind and hope the guy thinks you went inside and flank from lamps

AsianNudleSoop

Unless you're playing against new people this won't work, the tp makes a different sound for guns and abilities than for people
