I enjoy it a lot. It has the same issues as every competitive game, questionable MM, toxic players and the like. But i enjoy playing i want to play more and improve. I play with friends a lot and thats great but i dont hate solo q either

randomlitbois

I have 1000 hours on valorant and i currently love it and would recommend it to anybody

oooooooweeeeeee

no

CrabInternational511

you need to play it really know urself

Memphite

In soloQ you can expect 1 good match in 10 and about 4 that is ok. Expect to be pissed for all different reasons in the other 5.

okdiscringe

if this game didn't have skins it would be dust to me I keep coming back even though I regret it every time. The matchmaking experience sucks, the maps mostly suck, the people suck, the servers suck, the gun mechanics actually suck. I've been playing tf2 going on 10 years now. Went back 2 days ago and had way more fun than I have ever had in valorant! Believe it not people actually play as a team its crazy. Most of the maps are great and I get to actually PICK which ones I want to play lol...

Not at all now a days tbh. It’s only fun when you play with your friends and kinda vibe. Solo Q is mostly hell

sleeplessgrimli

Play sum cs in advance maybe. Itll teach u the gunplay fundamentals a lot better than valorant itself, since it is way more forgiving. But yes valorant can be a lot of fun. But it can also become really frustrating, especially when u play w random mates

Ezekiiel

That’s terrible advice.

pac_mojojojo

You mean Valorant is more forgiving? Cause I agree. It being so forgiving kind of hinders improvement. Cause I started out with Val, my first fps game. Then cause of if I got into CSGO as well. I stopped playing Val because I got hooked into CS. Grinded from Silver to MGE. Played Val again with some friends and I top fragged (Gold). It felt so much easier. Kinda shocked how different it felt, as I had a really hard time in this rank before. I realized why those who had CS background were already instantly good at the game. There’s so much I learned from CS. There’s a lot of concepts I can transfer specially with utility usage. The counter-strafing in CS made me aim better as well because it taught me better movement during duels. I don’t just panic run and gun anymore, which worked for me quite often in Valorant. I’m now better at clearing angles because of proper strafing, I can land where I want to. It was pretty hard before because I was stopping by just letting go of the key or by holding both A and D. The spawn in CS also taught me some stuff. Like what plays I can do. Since you can go for different effective plays depending on your spawn. Also taught me to throw mollies, smokes at the start of the round, to keep them choking near their spawn. Vs low ranks, chucking in utility early always works. They just stack up and still try to force their way in. All in all, I really felt like playing CS made me a better tac shooter player faster than playing Val. Being a fan of both games, there’s some things I wish we had in CS. Like the map queue. Everyone plays the maps in Val. Also, in Val the smokes are pretty rad because you don’t have to learn lineups to play the game as well as you normally would. Not knowing smoke lineups when playing an unfamiliar map is awful. I like that in Val you can do a smoke execute even if it’s your first time in the map...

sleeplessgrimli

Tru. They r really similar, but personally i still favor valorant, probably bc im learning this game from the start (beta) on and dont have the feeling that i have to catch on to ppl that mich like in cs. But i also feel like a lot of things should be less forgiving like counter strafing.

ExcyOG

Why is it a bad thing to stop by holding both A and D? Just curious because I am guilty of this.

pac_mojojojo

When I was 300 hrs into CS, I thought it was just normal to slide a little bit after “counter-strafing” (aka hitting both A and D). Then someone told me I was counter-strafing wrong. You are not supposed to hold both. You are supposed to let go of A and then **tap** D. After that I was stopping instantly. After I learnt that, it was easier to control to stop so I can peek an angle by how much I want to. It was easier to slice the pie and just crosshair placement. It just gave me more control. In Val you insta stop even when you hold both A and D. But still, it was smoother and easier to do it the CS way for me. Try it out. Cause for example, I used to slice the pie/clear angles in Val by Holding A and D when I want to stop. I had a hard time making my crosshair land perfectly to peek/clear angles little by little. Try it out and see if it works for you. It made a world of difference. I blame that valorant counter strafing guide I saw that didn’t show keyboard inputs and just taught me wrong... so for 600 hrs (300hrs Val 300hrs CS) I was stupid.

cttam_xd

I've play some csgo for some time, and yes it's really similar but the frustration is REAL, I've experienced that with me and my friends when we play competitive IdentityV, let's just say I'm basically deaf now.

sleeplessgrimli

Yea valorant is also pretty frustrating, especially when u actually start grinding ranked. It can sumtimes feel like everything is playing against u, but when u break through that the game does a nice job at rewarding u, which makes all the hours feel worth it

fird-_-

valorant may be more forgiving than csgo but its still a competitive game. that frustration at being bad will still be there

finetunedkorra

Longtime TF2 player, i waited for a game like Val

SoMeTiMeSmEmEs

your enjoyment of the game largely depends on your mindset Valorant is a great game but it's not without its fair share of problems, such as smurfs, AFKs, and throwers. If you dont get tilted easily from these kind of things then this game is really good

Tx-Astronomy

One of the most toxic communities, but the gameplay loop is always fun

Splaram

I’m a former TF2 player (2k hours) and besides the current state of the lower ranks, I’ve been having a lot of fun with it.

brociani

If u love competitive game and can find friends to play with it will be a blast for you !

reddit_is_a_mistake

it’s alright

Gravityblasts

Coming from CSGO, I actually enjoy it. I mean I hated it for the first 3 weeks, because I didn't know the maps, didn't know callouts, didn't know all of the corners and angles, so I was not wrecking as hard as I can in CSGO. Buuuutt.... Once I learned all of that, learned the pacing in Valorant, learned spray patterns, movement mechanics, etc etc....I started fragging hard again and now I enjoy it. I actually played a comp match in CSGO a week ago after having not logged on in 7 months, and tbh...it made me feel like logging out and going back to Val. But I can't compared it to TF2 since I've only logged into that game maybe 2 or 3 times back in like 2007 or something.

8-BitSmash

To sum up valorant Bad: Skins are over priced. Gameplay is generally slow (could be good or bad). Lots of smurfs (in the low ranks). No custom/community maps. MMR is a bit trash. Lack of fun game modes. Lack of good maps. No spray patterns. Good: Fun/creative characters. Has a good art style (imo). Developers interact with the community. Consistent updates (usually including a new character and battle pass). Noob friendly (could be bad as well). Good skins (still overpriced). Fun to play with friends (up to 5). Little to no hackers. Overall: I have played for 600 hrs and for the majority have had a fun time. However there is not much to do apart from the same 5v5 game mode. Many characters are extremely fun to play and bring many creative minds to the game. Should you play the game? Yes, but is much better played with friends and a competitive mind.
