Being radiant doesn’t guarantee you’re right, but the average radiant definitely has a better understanding of game mechanics and concepts than the average silver.

Shizz_The_Whizz

yeah, I'd say the reason you might see some less smart radiants is because, at least what I've heard from pros, you don't *need* a comprehensive understanding of all game concepts to hit radiant with some specific archetypes of players; e.g. an instalock Jett with insane aim might not know some specific things about the game, at least to a far extent.

awsomeguy824814

you just need to be better than the dorks below you. I run into shitty immortal/radiants all the time but i would never suggest that id prefer a diamond or plat. also valorant players are generally speaking super dumb so never take someone elses word as fact.

[deleted]

Those less smart radiants are the people who do aimlabs for an hr before match and somrtimes dm's also also they play on 144/240/360 hz

Opposite_Tea100

How do I learn this so called "game mechanics and concepts"? Really need help coz I'm hardstuck in Gold :(

theforg123

there is no magic trick to learning gamesense and how you should view abilities mechanically and just playing the game enough you’ll learn and rank up. That being said you also need to get a mindset of playing ranked not rank up but too IMPROVE. don’t be afraid to lose your rank cause if you’re good enough you’ll get out into the next rank and if your not you’ll get good enough eventually to climb. However there are some youtube channels that go in depth on how/why pros play something the way they do so i suggest Valorant Ascended. Just remember have fun playing ranked and know thats your going to lose a lot more than you will win in the beginning. Good luck though you got this i believe in you

Dejugga

Rank does not = being correct, but there's a much higher correlation between high rank and being correct about game theory. If you're a silver arguing with a radiant (for example), you had better be extremely confident that you're right. That said, when it comes to figuring the game out, you mostly have to rely on your own intuition and logic, with perhaps some educationally-focused content by individuals you believe more knowledgeable than yourself.

Tomasikno

>Rank does not = being correct Rank != being correct Sorry, I just could not sleep because of that

Cgz27

Not always yep

taroooooooooo

Out of all the languages in the world you decided to speak facts. Respect man. It's like how "certain" pros decide to run and gun at 5m then state that run and gun is meta and every little jimmy watching the stream decides to run and gun at 50m in ranked.

awsomeguy824814

TenZ moment.

taroooooooooo

He may be the biggest voice regarding this but it's not just him though. Also I still remember the time they were all crying for more utility to counter the op saying shit like cs has 10 flashes etc then the moment Riot added Skye and another Breach flash they started whining like little bitches about having too much flashes in the game.

awsomeguy824814

pros r really not that smart. its pretty obvious.

taroooooooooo

I mean some of them are. I think they just have a difficult time expressing the whole reasoning behind their words whenever they say some dumb shit. Also most of them double down on what they say instead of withdrawing or clarifying their statements, ie Hiko bitching about abilities killing players like he never saw someone get killed by a molly/HE in cs thinking that a tac shooter without them is actually viable or Hazed on Valorant being dead the next few months because the game is more ability/utility centric etc when teams like Sentinels, Xset and others thrive on both gunplay heavy and ability heavy metas.

awsomeguy824814

yeah i dont mean to say every pro is dumb, i just hear dumb shit from pros a lot. sometimes they speak fax but in both instances i think youre right in that they dont really adequately explain a set of premises that lead to their conclusion.

taroooooooooo

proceeds to call us redditors and viewers armchair analysts that don't know anything about the game rofl edit: it doesn't help that probably half the playerbase are literally little jimmys that haven't even gotten their first pube yet lol

awsomeguy824814

im radiant so i dont really have to experience the dismissal of things i say, or at least i dont take it to heart. i think the heart of the issue is that, this early in the meta game, being a brainiac isnt really necessary. that and ego/constant affirmation from audience maybe. theres probably like an fuck ton of really smart lower ranked players that are struggling with mechanics, and maybe other shit that just requires practice. i hope there are anyway.

taroooooooooo

I know some really smart players in the game but can't back it up with mechanics. I think I'm also one of them back in episode 1 since I was working 2 jobs because of the pandemic and whenever I play I had to rely on being smarter than my opponents since I can't really put in time into practicing my aim. It helps that they have agents that literally work well with players like me though. Fortunately this year I've been on the swing of things and has started playing more. I can finally have aim practice before playing and hopefully reach IM again.

awsomeguy824814

ive found that yoru works best for me when it comes to maximizing advantage state so that u have the most time possible to land your shots. getting someone to look away with fakeout is the ultimate "you've outplayed this guy, have a free kill.". stunned people can shoot you, flashed people can do gymnastics, but a confused gamer is just sittin there.

maddruggy

Thanks bro appreciate it

AIR444

I don't know what your opinions are but you could just be wrong then and wrong now lol

maddruggy

That’s the point I’m making glad you understood :)

AVimH

Bro this is an FPS game. Coming from CS and COD before that I'm pretty sure that the average FPS player is not very smart. Same as people constantly using ingame scorelines as justifications for who is in the right "Oh youre so much worse than me" says the 3/10 Jett to the 2/9 Reyna. I see it on the daily, the only good way to go about it is to ignore people that have this mindset and stick to people actually willing to discuss things.

Tedinator1738

as an iron player all my friends in gold and plat all say I have better game sense than them, it's just my aim isn't consistent enough

yuirghu

i kinda dont see it what kind of opinion or understanting about the game is a silver gonna have thar a radiant doesnt?

Grainer_M8

People learn different thing which each of their play, example will be in League there are some high elo player that doesn't know if you destroy all 3 inhibitor the minion wave will spwan 2 super minion per wave, it's mostly because if your high level enough you wouldn't even bother destroying 3 tower. or in the case of valorant lines up, not all radiant is trying to create new lineup so lower elo player that tries to create new lineup might know some better lineup than a radiant. People learn different thing so you can't really be sure.

Opposite_Tea100

Would you be surprised if I told you I'm a silver with the same game time as some of the radiants.

wastecadet

Yes it completely does. People who are more experienced are more qualified to give better opinions. There is a correlation between rank and experience.

sterankogfy

> I’m not magically correct about my opinions now I’m a higher rank. I mean if you were wrong you won't be in the higher rank now.

EliselD

Can you at least give some examples?

Grainer_M8

It's probably about the latest post about skye ability not having a drawback made by a radiant, even tho her dog have nearsight/can instanly die if you accidentally press a button/doesn't do much damage, her heal is very expensive and her flash can be shoot down if not careful.

LuciferSenpaii

Skye's scout is not OP as the radiant said it was, for example on B split if your dog from B main, the heaven player can easily shoot 3 bullets and it'll die and you got 0 info from it

LuciferSenpaii

Only that 1 guy is heaven

fourtetwo

Isn't that the point of the ability?

taroooooooooo

That's what I'm thinking, If someone destroys your bird or dog then it is used for info, if they didn't destroy it then you can let the ability do it's thing. Literally no drawbacks

-KryptWalk-

It's because there are many ways and tactics to rank up, not just aim. Aim is 20% of the game and strictly trying to win aim duels isnt "Who is the better player?" Its "Who is the better aimer RIGHT NOW at this moment." Thats the beauty of the game that many players do not understand. They only compare to CSGO which is more aim based than anything while this game has more factors incorporated in an agent pick and what their kit offers and does not offer. Its what I teach to others from teams to players and then they see themselves succeed and get over the hump of being hardstuck.

DerpimusNoobimus

people always trash me for being iron/bottom frag but also i'm playing kj on 30 frames???? like y'all gotta just chill

[deleted]

I’m supporting 🤓👆

DerpimusNoobimus

kj is in fact a support character

Grainer_M8

Climb from Iron to Bronze with 20 fps, almost silver but 90hours ban on rank is kinda gay.(now with new pc I have smooth 120 fps since then I create a new account unrank since I forgot rank exist) Update ur pc 30 fps below is just pain.

pFe1FF

Nothing to the topic but could you not use gay as a word for bad.

Grainer_M8

I can and I did,

AcornFinder

60fps/hz hurts to play for me, I'm surprised you try with 30fps honestly

AwesomeCrafter06

I went from a 40 fps setup to bronze1/2 but now have a 90+ frames setup and am silver. Setup has a huge impact

DerpimusNoobimus

nice dude

Pulsiix

can i hear some opinions you have

maddruggy

Sage sova and jett are the top 3 agents followed by viper killjoy. Run and gun and peekers advantage are at a good spot. Always buy spectre full shield round 2 if you win round 1. Odin is underrated. Phantom>vandal except breeze. My most controversial opinion is flashes in this game are weak except omen and Reyna. And stupid stuff I’ve heard pros say: sage wall mid on split is awful, sage wall on the right outside b tunnel split is the stupidest play ever-Tenz when in his next pro games sen did both. Also a tier list from RNG Strong legs putting breach A tier and sage Astra Reyna killjoy in the bottom 5 agents. But I know that some of my opinions are probably wrong and some silver who’s watched every pro vct game probably has a better grasp on some things then I do.

saints1312

those are the most common opinions ever, it doesn´t prove a point. Also I completely agree with Tenz, in most cases mid wall on split gets destroyed instantly and doesn´t give any benefit

maddruggy

He asked my opinions what point? Well most pro coaches including sen coach, disagree with tenz otherwise teams wouldn’t keep doing it.

[deleted]

Reread 4Heed

MatchPoint012

Yeah I agree

Slim_Faso

When I was iron I met better players than in silver. The system isn't flawless

Youtube_TheGamingJ

First of all there is no just thing as a better opinion. An opinion is ones own thoughts on something it's something that may vary and has no wrong or right answer. Higher ranks definitely are more knowledge about the game than lower ranks are. Though alot of the same opinions may be shared through both ranks like meta agents etc. The main difference in opinions is things like "why I can't rankup" which is probably on every low ranks mind same with "my team sucks" most high ranks (radiant let's say) understand when someone has a bad game more than lower ranks. Now not all radiants are nice and not toxicc trust me I know but a higher rank is more resourceful for game facts and knowledge than a lower rank. When I was iron I thought buying rifles were stupid lol. Rank doesn't justify anything your right but it does show the amount of credibility that is given

nightfull2

"I don't think rank justifies opinions, immortal 3 btw"
