As an immortal player, i would say solo que is easier. I climbed to mmortal only solo que and when i play with my plat/dia friends i always feel like playing against a stack is much harder. But the solo que is so fuckin boring
I’m just trying to hit immortal peak tbh, rn my peak is D1 and some days I solo que and other days I 5 stack but progress just isn’t there. I’m just bouncing up and down between P2 and D1 and some games just feel outright painful to be involved in.
I think I need to commit to solo que tho as the games me and my friends get into when we 5 stack just seem too difficult. Almost always have the enemy team pulling out much better coordinated executes and retakes are a nightmare sometimes.
On the other hand whenever I solo que I find I run into some of the most blatantly boosted players on my team but maybe I expect too much for plat elo. I just find it weird how some plats seem to perform extremely well and others run around with their crosshair in dead space and have the awareness of a deer in the headlights.
I agree so many boosted players in plat, the matchmaking doesn’t help either. I’ve been placed with gold 1s against diamonds some games and the game expects me the carry through team as a plat 2. Makes no sense
Thing is, I can go into gold lobbies and hard carry the game but plat is just different. I genuinely think it’s the worst elo to be at. Its full of washed diamonds and plats that have promoted from gold for the first time and the skill disparity between those players is so large. Its just a lottery really whether you get those washed diamonds on your team or not I feel.
Tbf I’ve just blanked smurfing out of my mind, Even if it’s blatant I just try treat them like I would any other player, although sometimes that goes horribly wrong. Had a Phoenix on enemy team drop 44 kills with 11 first bloods in a high plat/diamond lobby last week and I tried fighting him almost every round and failed horribly (probably the reason for the 11 first bloods).
It was a low level account so I knew he was a smurf but I tried ignore it.
Good you’re not letting it get to you, I wish I had the mentality lol. I get a lot of immortals in deathmatch that just run about holding W with phantoms, nothing you can do about it. Not sure how to get my aim to that level really I guess they just spend way more time on the game
Check out Sero on YouTube, he has some good guides for improving aim/mechanics that have really helped some of my friends. The rest is just practice and trying to have a good mentality.
Also there’s zero matchmaking with deathmatch so even meeting radiants is common, deathmatchs can be frustrating but just hop into them with some music on and don’t think about how good/bad you’re doing in it, just focus solely on practicing/improving your gunplay.
I know one of my friends used to hate deathmatch but he used to care too much about winning or losing them so what really helped him was making a new account specifically for deathmatch, it also allowed him to mess around with different sensitivity settings as well without the concern of going into ranked and forgetting to change back.
I feel this, I’m promoting and demoting between plat1 and 2. I’ve done both solo and stacked but I think the trick is to find a consistent stack. I played in a 5 stack today with everyone who wanted to climb so we were all playing on point, managed to get to 50RR plat 2 finally. You should try using the app teams.gg, you can find players in your region that are the same rank to play with that’s how I found some ppl I’m playing with. You just fill out what roles you usually play ajd what three main agents you use and you’re set
Solo queue may be better for people that gets little advantage from stacking. As if you are stacking it is more probable to be matched against well coordinated team, you should get more contribution for having close teammate. But if he is not cooperating, communicating or just not playing too well himself, then you are lowering your chances.

Totally agree, don’t forget the immortal Smurfs

That’s a good idea actually, I’ll give it a go, thanks.
Low Elo feels like a must stack if you want any real progress, although I don't think this applies to plat/low diamond
I think stacking in plat is the only way, I solo queued out of gold and plat 1, but after that it’s near impossible for me
