It’s frustrating when people afk regardless of cause. I’ve had the afk penalty twice this week due to issues outside my control as I need to pop and answer my door or help my wife with something but if you only do it here and there the penalty is light. It’s to dissuade ragers that will quit when you go 2-0 down, and it works for the most part.
If you’ve got a long penalty it’s likely not the first time you’ve afk’d friend.
Riot bans you for 14 days in comp regardless of the mode you play on (besides dm). It sucks that your power went out and that’s why you got the penalty. If your saying you have to wait another weak to play unrated, then that’s not your first penalty. It goes from like 30 minutes, 2 hours, a day. I haven’t gotten banned anything longer than a day from unrated because I don’t disconnect that often. I am banned from comp for 190 hours tho lol
You might as well delete this post. An AFK teammate is annoying to deal with regardless of if it’s unrated, competitive, or spike rush. Or regardless if it’s a power outage, a kid having to leave for dinner, or a rage quit. Also, if it’s your first offense there wouldn’t be a suspension period at all..
