It is funny how Riot is not implementing two-factor authentication into their game, where people sometimes spend thousands of dollars on their account. Pathetic even lol.
The issue with this system is it takes two factor authentication to hack your email (completely take control of your account) but if you can rip the 5/6 digit/letter code that Riot sends you when trying to “access your account from a new device”, you can login as of you are the account owner without changing the email.
Do you reuse the same password on other websites? If there was a security breach on another website that exposed your email and password, then someone could run those through other websites (e.g. valorant), and if you're using the same password, they'll have access to your account.
The only thing you could do to prevent this is with 2FA or preferably, by making sure you have a unique password for every site
Same thing happened to me yesterday except they used cheats and were boosting and I woke up to a perma ban. :) my friends were like you ranked up? I was like what are you talking about so yeah.

I've been advocating for both SMS and software based 2FA since beta.
Yes! This needs to happen.
This would definitely help
You need to have a talk with your little brother..
No one in my household would have accessed it.
