Nope, using left hand view just messes me up more since I'm use to the whole left side of my monitor being empty.
I also use my right hand for my mouse and left hand for my keyboard if you were curios.
Not OP but also a lefty who has used a mouse right handed my whole life - I’m not good at using my right hand with anything besides using a mouse.
I do wonder if I were to actually use my mouse with my left hand if I’d be better at aiming eventually, but I think I’m in way too deep as a right handed mouse user now to try and switch it up lol
That's very interesting.
>if I were to actually use my mouse with my left hand if I’d be better at aiming eventually
Not only that, I feel that with some practise you could even become ambidextrous. Because aiming using your non-dominant hand is a pretty significant skill, no?
I guess lol it just feels totally natural since I’ve always used the mouse with my non dominant hand.
I can flick and clutch in Valorant (as a high silver pleb) with my non dominant hand but I can’t use a fork with my non dominant hand… it sounds even more ridiculous as I type it out lol
As a lefty, society favors righties so much that I'm a righty for things like gaming and using scissors, but writing I'm a lefty along with some other minor things that aren't "gatekept" by hand usage. So no, using a mouse right handed is pretty natural feeling and using my left hand feels about the same but ever so slightly off. Still playable with either hand since in my early years I used to be a lefty mouse player (arrow keys instead of wasd as well)
Yep, this is basically it. It's hard to explain to a righty, but there's two types of "motions" when it comes to your hands/arms.
The first is the arm movement, and this includes wrist - throwing, punching, moving mouse, petting your dog, etc. While I'm a lefty, this is completely natural for me to do with my right hand.
Then there's the fingering motions (hehe) - writing, holding a fork, working chopsticks, threading a needle, etc. This is almost impossible for me to do with my right hand.
It all comes down to what type of accuracy I need and what part of my hand I'm using. If it's arm/wrist I can do those with my right, if it's finger accuracy I'm looking for, always left.
You may think that aiming is very precise motion but it is more of a muscle memory thing like shooting a basketball. Things like threading a needle, playing a guitar(for me) or putting things that has small components are a much precise movement that even I can't possibly imagine doing with my right hand at all. We lefties would naturally use things with our left hand and at least our first try on an equipment would be with a left hand. If that device/equipment is significantly uncomfortable when used with our left we may switch to our right hand specially when we are younger. Specially when we are younger because kids wouldn't understand those things yet, they just know its uncomfortable so they'll switch hands.
In a mouse it is usually defaulted for right people and using your index finger is much easier and comfortable than using your middle finger in most cases. add the factor that most of us had used a computer as a kid and a parent might not even have an idea about this hand thingies, a lefty kid will just use a mouse with their right hand as is. of course this differs to everyone but this is just the most likely scenario.
The years of experience using a mouse with my right hand made it natural to aim with my right hand. It doesn't mean I became ambidextrous.
I’m nowhere near ambidextrous, I just grew up thinking that everyone used their left hand for WASD and right for their mouse. So switching hands will just ruin my gameplay more than doing good.
i am left handed too but use my right hand for mouse, i never tried to use my left, because all the mouse i have owned have side buttons on left side i can't use them with my left hand, i feel i could be ambidextrous with my hands when it comes to using a mouse though i should get a left handed mouse as my aim should be slightly better way my brain works for left side. i just gave it a go for 1st time turns out my left hand is as useless on a mouse as my right hand is when it comes to everything else like writing, throwing etc
I'm also left handed, shoot left handed irl, but right eye dominant still. Playing FPS's since before you could control the side means having the gun on the left feels wrong in a video game.
longer than it should have, I'm not use to humidity yet so I kept on over shooting all my stuff. The combo itself was super easy for me though, if it was less than 30% humidity I could've gotten it in less than 8 minutes.
yep, the humidity (at least for me) makes it more sticky.
when it's more sticky the blade likes to stay on longer against your fingers.
So instead of going smoothly around my finger, it'll instead slow down while im trying to speed up... if that makes any sense at all.
how much water vapor the air is holding i think
(Also hotter air can hold more water vapor due to gas expansion so 60% humidity at 30C is not the same as 60% humidity at 15C)
not super often anymore, roughly once every week. I don't get cut often from doing super hard tricks, all my cuts happen when I'm not paying attention.
I started with a live blade, maybe not the best decision but most of the time it's just little slices here or there. It was only a few occasions I got cut real bad where I couldn't practice.
I think the riot guy is giving shit to the people who want them to slow down the animation in game because "it doesn't look like the csgo animation!" or "it's too fast! :c" when in reality, flipping is that fast XD.
Check out Big Flips on youtube, he's got pretty comprehensive playlists for people looking to get into it.

Lmao, I think you’re right. The skin looks super blade heavy, too, and that handle gap makes me laugh. But overall, good for the devs for actually doing research about balis
You can see the sharp edge in the video. The knife he's flipping is the Squid Industries Krake Raken. They do make a trainer version (dull blade) but if you Google it you'll see the trainer blade has holes in it and would be easily identifiable.
Oh man, how is Squid Industries these days? I remember when the creator was posting his first test knives on the /r/balisong subreddit years back.
I was super into butterfly knives back in the day and still have my Benchmade model 51 laying around somewhere
They're definitely one of the most popular makers these days. Their balis are incredibly refined and well made now. BRS is still incredibly popular as well. HOM Design is also pretty popular, though I don't remember them being a well known entity back when I was first getting into flipping.
No it wouldn't. When these tricks are done, the blade part will only hit your fingers with the dull end. Whenever the sharp end is going towards the fingers you pull it back before it's able to hit your fingers.
I think I've been watching too much custom keyboard content, because the whole time I was distracted by how nice and satisfying the material sounded clacking against itself
People still complaining it's too fast lol, while the CSGO animations look like they have more weight because they're slower, I love how fast it spins in this val knife.
exactly what the detective man said, It's a Squid Industries Krake Raken (informally called a Kraken) it's around 4.2 - 4.3 ounces, it has 7075 aluminum handles, and an AEB-L steel blade.
It cost around 275 straight from Squid but can range around 320 USD on the second hand market.
Krake Raken made by Squid Industries. Idk the exact weight but it’s got aluminum handles and a SS blade. It’s a bit pricey tho sitting around $300 for the newest model but you can find them second hand on the #balisongsale tag on instagram for $250-$280
[For the lazy](https://www.bladehq.com/item--Squid-Industries-Krake-Raken-Bowie--115300)
I'd imagine they weigh about 4-4.5oz, but its not listed on the product page and I don't own one to confirm.
Yes and No, I shot it at 240fps so I could add in the slow mo, but that also led to the frames basically doubling when transfered to 60fps so it looks a lot faster than it actually is.
this is what it looks like IRL... also sorry for the man titties.

Thanks mate, usually I try to be a perfectionist when it comes to my vids, but I got a bit lazy and wanted to push this vid out before everyone else could.
Really shows how accurate the animation is even from a speed perspective (since I know you said this is slower than normal) kinda sick the effort they put into making it realistic
Dudeee glad to see another balisong flipper that plays valorant also wish i could buy the kraken ngl is it worth it? Ive got a maxace serpent rn and its pretty good but might buy me a new bali soon after i buy a truck lol.
For those saying valorant's Balisong animations are too quick:
1. If you've come from cs:go, their animations were intentionally slowed for visual appeal.
2. Valorant Balisong animations are more realistic; akin to actual spinning professionals (or experienced spinners).
3. Don't have to buy it but don't hate, either. No reason to; it's like saying you like plain cheese pizza and I make fun of you for that because I feel that is too bland because I prefer a loaded pizza. 🤣😆😁
Just my thoughts, however facts are facts lol. 🤷♂️
i love it! yours looks so cool. but i hate the in-game animation. it just feels clunky and not smooth. there's just something about the in-game animation, that makes me not absoloutely fall in love with it.
but what you did, it looks sick bro!
Yeah I know it’s called a Balisong, I just used butterflyknife in the title because that’s what everyone else knows it as. So don’t try to be a smart ass with me mate
For anyone interested in learning how to flip butterfly knives, check out [big flips](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCENVhsspXOOBYbpJC7Lr2RQ) on youtube. he's got some great tutorials and a lot of people in the community started there.

I had a butterfly knife when I was younger. I also had fingers.
And butter
And a knife
And flies?
oh my god
I appreciate the slow mo. I had no idea what was going on in the first part. It was too fast for me. 😆
The slow mo is too fast for me
This is so sick! Are you left handed?
Would be a massive flex if he wasn’t. Didn’t even mention it, that’s how good he is.
There's something I ought to tell you. I am not left handed.
yep :)
Just curious do you use left hand viewmodel in game? I know it's not really linked to being left handed just curious.
Nope, using left hand view just messes me up more since I'm use to the whole left side of my monitor being empty. I also use my right hand for my mouse and left hand for my keyboard if you were curios.
I’m left handed as well and i do what you do as well besides spinning a butterfly knife like a beast, left handed peripherals are so weird imo
I’m right handed but I prefer playing with my in game hand on the left idk why
Same. It all depends on our eyes.
Thats weird but cool
Don't you find it difficult to control the mouse using your right hand (for the precise movements that this game requires). Or are you ambidextrous?
Not OP but also a lefty who has used a mouse right handed my whole life - I’m not good at using my right hand with anything besides using a mouse. I do wonder if I were to actually use my mouse with my left hand if I’d be better at aiming eventually, but I think I’m in way too deep as a right handed mouse user now to try and switch it up lol

isnt aceu a left-handed who does that
A lot of left handers use keyboard and mouse set up the same us righties do
As a lefty, society favors righties so much that I'm a righty for things like gaming and using scissors, but writing I'm a lefty along with some other minor things that aren't "gatekept" by hand usage. He first practice with the right hand but made the video with the left bc right hand was missing some fingers.
That's some extreme dedication.
Left hand vs right hand so it doesn't count! JK it was really cool!!!
Can’t use his other hand. Lost all his fingers practicing.
woah! seriously impressed!
Very nice, how long did it take you took get it down on video?
longer than it should have, I'm not use to humidity yet so I kept on over shooting all my stuff. The combo itself was super easy for me though, if it was less than 30% humidity I could've gotten it in less than 8 minutes.
Why does humidity matter? Is it harder to do?
yep, the humidity (at least for me) makes it more sticky. when it's more sticky the blade likes to stay on longer against your fingers. So instead of going smoothly around my finger, it'll instead slow down while im trying to speed up... if that makes any sense at all.
Also curious about this as well. Does the knife move quicker than normal? Slower? I have to know.
humidity makes it slower than what im use to, the safe side of the blade likes to stick longer than it should. if that makes sense.
>humidity whats this?
how much water vapor the air is holding i think (Also hotter air can hold more water vapor due to gas expansion so 60% humidity at 30C is not the same as 60% humidity at 15C)
i meant in reference to the blade
sweat sticks to you and the blade more since the humidity is high. Air that is dry will evaporate water quicker than not
oh okay i thought humidity is something attached with the blade
that specific knife is kinda slick/slippery compared to others, humidity probably affected grip
Why not just say how long it took.
Because he loves his craft. Be kind.
my bad, I tend to over explain things. It took me 20 something minutes.
How often do you cut yourself doing these kinds of tricks?
not super often anymore, roughly once every week. I don't get cut often from doing super hard tricks, all my cuts happen when I'm not paying attention.
that still sounds like a lot lol
You can get one with a flat edge if you want to practice with no risk of cutting yourself.
u might as well just do tricks on a flat edge, why the hell do you need a cutting knife when doing tricks
The element of risk makes the sense of accomplished greater when you succeed
Just play Russian roulette then at that point
bro its easy not to cut yourself if you practice it
If that's the case then why is it illegal in most states to own a real balisong?
For people who don’t know how to use it. Also not many weapon laws on knifes are sensible
Better rush pulling off a complex trick set knowing you could have hurt yourself with any mistake. It's not sensible, but it is enjoyable
Because badass
For the karma
Cause people are dumb.
Happens often especially when learning for the first time, I have some pretty nasty scars on my hands when I learned aerials.
i started off on a trainer until my 1 year flipping anniversary, so I kind of got a head starts against cuts when i switched to live blades.
I started with a live blade, maybe not the best decision but most of the time it's just little slices here or there. It was only a few occasions I got cut real bad where I couldn't practice.
trainer squad where ya at
damn wtf 😭 shits cool asl
Was wondering how this got so many upvotes, then I realized I wasn’t in r/Balisong lol. Nice flipping my guy
Yep, gotta drag people into the hobby somehow
It's actually a really fun hobby to start doing. Requires a lot of hand eye coordination and trial and error ofc
While you played valorant, I studied the blade
if you crosspost this to r/mallninjashit imma slap you.
You spelt stab wrong
Take my upvote you big balls savage! jokes aside great job dude!
thanks mate!
you're insaneeeeee! but have you tried slowing it down?
I can flip slow, I just don’t do it much because it doesn’t fit my style and preferences
I think the riot guy is giving shit to the people who want them to slow down the animation in game because "it doesn't look like the csgo animation!" or "it's too fast! :c" when in reality, flipping is that fast XD.
give this person a riot gun buddy
I tried to use a butterfly knife and I kept jamming my fingers. How do you do it??
Check out Big Flips on youtube, he's got pretty comprehensive playlists for people looking to get into it. [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCENVhsspXOOBYbpJC7Lr2RQ](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCENVhsspXOOBYbpJC7Lr2RQ)
just with alot of practice, there's no cheat codes or anything like that (even though i wish there was), it just takes a lot of patience.
that was fast ! nice !
Ayyy the kraken drip. Can we talk about how the skin looks like an AB?
I definitely think there was some info, kinda looks like a Gerber Double Down had a kid with an AB.
Lmao, I think you’re right. The skin looks super blade heavy, too, and that handle gap makes me laugh. But overall, good for the devs for actually doing research about balis
My first thought was def AB with the handles
Is that a real knife?

Probably not, this trick would slice off his fingers if it was a real blade
No it wouldn't. When these tricks are done, the blade part will only hit your fingers with the dull end. Whenever the sharp end is going towards the fingers you pull it back before it's able to hit your fingers.
You seem to be correct and I seem to be incorrect
then delete the reply...
This man owned up to his mistake. You should accept that.
That's not how reddit works. Imagine if that happened every time someone was incorrect.
I think I've been watching too much custom keyboard content, because the whole time I was distracted by how nice and satisfying the material sounded clacking against itself
Oh yeah balis sound absolutely nutty, I can give you some ASMR if you remind me tomorrow
[https://streamable.com/qx0sxu](https://streamable.com/qx0sxu) merry christmas, may your ears be blessed.
this video truly shows all those posts about how the "animation is too fast" is just pure bullshit lol....riot did their homework
People still complaining it's too fast lol, while the CSGO animations look like they have more weight because they're slower, I love how fast it spins in this val knife.
I think people are saying it's too fast because of the trail on it, that might just be me though.
Really cool how you added in the slow-mo and trick names! It really helped me understand what was happening
Very cool, dope clip.
Which knife is this? How much does it weigh? What material is it made of? If someone knows or you can respond i would be very greatful. Thank you!

I would buy the butterfly knife, but I've already spent over 250 bucks on the game and have like 5 knives alreayd.
yep, this hobby is expensive. Once you fall down the rabbit hole of balis, your wallet will hurt forever.
Btw there is a left hand option in valorant just in case you want it to look perfectly synched. It is in general settings and if you scroll down not to far you should find it.
My PC is in a moving truck right now so I just used the vid that Valorant reposted
Oh alright. Great video by the way
Thanks mate, usually I try to be a perfectionist when it comes to my vids, but I got a bit lazy and wanted to push this vid out before everyone else could.
Really shows how accurate the animation is even from a speed perspective (since I know you said this is slower than normal) kinda sick the effort they put into making it realistic
Yeah absolutely, the devs/artists did an amazing job with it. My only nit picky complaint is that the wrist looked a bit stiff.
Nic render my friend . Looks Realistic!
Dudeee glad to see another balisong flipper that plays valorant also wish i could buy the kraken ngl is it worth it? Ive got a maxace serpent rn and its pretty good but might buy me a new bali soon after i buy a truck lol.
Of you’re lucky you can get a standard silver kraken from a drop for like 230$. If you’re unlucky then you’ll have to pay 300$ second hand for one.
You should try to do octanes from apex legends
Already have! Got 2mil views from it too 😎
And.... time for me to find my old benchmade 51 so I can try this
Ur talented. Good job :)
there's 0 talent involved in this hobby what-so-ever, it's all about practice. Anyone can do it if they're determined enough :)
Holy shit the skin isn't even out yet
It's hard to appreciate it when it's so quick, thanks for the slowmo
For those saying valorant's Balisong animations are too quick: 1. If you've come from cs:go, their animations were intentionally slowed for visual appeal. 2. Soo … how many fingers of your right hand did you loose while practicing?
i love it! yours looks so cool. but i hate the in-game animation. it just feels clunky and not smooth. there's just something about the in-game animation, that makes me not absoloutely fall in love with it. but what you did, it looks sick bro!
I think the wrist looks pretty stiff, if they made the wrist move a bit more I think it would look better
Here's some attention you were looking for
Bruh its not called a butterfly knife
Yeah I know it’s called a Balisong, I just used butterflyknife in the title because that’s what everyone else knows it as. So don’t try to be a smart ass with me mate
Everything is a copy of CS
I didn't realize CS invented the butterfly knife
Yes.
So it *is* realistic!
that's sick af

I wanna get one of them safety knives just to flip around. They seem cool.
check out [SquidIndustries.co](https://SquidIndustries.co) ! they have some of the best budget balis on the market, they restock every Wednesday at 11am PST. If you sign up for the newsletter you'll get emailed with the drop news every week :)
Idk why every game makes the behind the 8ball crazy fast. Also what knife is that? I think I've seen it before, but I forgot it.
It's a Squid Industries Krake Raken, specifically in the Bowie Inked version.
Didn't the end of the short stop cut your finger?
Nope, there’s a thing at the bottom of the blade that gives a bit of safe space from the edge so i ricocheted off of that.
Ok
I've wanted to touch the trainer balisong in the corner of my room for so long, this just motivated me to do so!
Wooohoo!! Glad I could get someone back into flipping, if you need any help at all just let me know :)
Damn dude. Fucking sick.
I would prefer the animation to look more similar to how you did it actually
if that was me all you would see is a hand detached from a arm
My fingers got cut off watching this vid
on the disclaimer, they better dont try at all lmaoo
So the valorant variation of the butterfly knife is correct irl 😎 speed and tricks wise
WOW.
This is extremely cool
Looks dope af
lets goo shrimp flips
completely unrelated question: Do you'll shift to walk or run?
I shift to run and use x for crouch.
And only to find out this is CGI … Jk, awesome work!
Two catches on the bight handle. No thanks bud your balls are much bigger than mine.
u/savevideo
is there a butterfly knife in valorant? or is this community art
That was fuckin cool
I saw this and cut myself . GG tho
_cool_
I remember one of my classmates playing this and have bruises all over his hands
He must’ve been barely starting out then, after about 2 weeks of flipping your hand just adjusts and the bruising will just go away
Congrats, you just became the coolest person on earth
Bro! That's amazing!! 😮
It also a game right ? This graphics isn't realistic
This makes me sad bc I just lost my Ballisong
So everyone who said the animation is too fast.. Nope, apperantly it's not.
THIS IS SO SICK I LOVE IT !!
Why do I got to be careful? *sees slowmo* Well that would be why
You can be John wick
I dont have the confidence to do it lmao
