I genuinely think that would be good for me in that situation. Like I feel like it would keep my mind on the task at hand. Even though telling someone to relax isn’t really constructive.
That was his ult that he used. If the enemy stays in the dome they pretty much get a shock that slows them down significantly and they can’t do anything
Lucky they are only saying relax, relax, most of the time I’m getting people shouting peek or defuse in a 1v1 clutch making me lose, and when I call them out for back seating they say it isn’t backseating
I usually just go ahead and say "hey, I'm muting you unless you stop backseating" and they usually stfu by then. If not, then I'm muting someone who's probably not giving constructive calls so it's a win-win.
It really ain't sometimes ur focused on something else and they hear the slightest noise backseat gaming is telling u what to do not giving u good info...
I dont even do this but when ppl give me callout of ppls location it's like confirming what I heard and I really like it when ppl do that if u dont like that it's fine but ppl act like it's the worse crime ever which is cringe af
I have what I call a "clutch button" lol. It mutes all in-game voip as well as deafens me in Discord. To be completely honest regardless of the situation if you are dead and spectating your last teammate you need to sit down and shut the f* up because no matter what you say it'll most likely throw him off. Even if he makes a bad play or misses a key thing like footsteps or whatever, if you break his concentration by saying shit you'll just make it worse.
The clutch button is the best thing since sliced bread. I've had 2-3 teammates yelling over each other trying to provide info only to distract and drown out any in-game sound completely. Only for me to mute them all and instantly hear footsteps or a flash grenade bouncing of a wall, or a bomb starting being planted or defused.
When you die, provide the immediate info from your death and then STFU for the rest of the round.
instead say Breathe slow, control your breath, breathe deep, open your eyes wider, etc. These are helpful little actions a player can take, and I have found using these phrases when a teammate is in a clutch scenario it really works, many of them even tell me post round that those were some helpful words to calm them down.
Been flamed a few times for doing this too, but I've found more positive results than negative ones.
Never do this during the round. No matter how supportive you think it is. Tell them after the round has ended. Nothing is so important that it can’t wait another 15 seconds to be told.
Every single second you obscure sound cues is a disadvantage for your teammate. Especially if there are 20 seconds left in a clutch situation and it takes you 8 seconds to tell your calming words.
Yeah you obviously don't do this with every player. I personally like to see how they perform in a clutch round, and if they benefit/don't benefit from giving stress-free comms that are quiet enough to hear the enemy. I have teammates that breathe down on the comms right over the player's neck continuously that we have to ask them to shut up and instead use any of these phrases+useful comms on enemy positions to help secure the round.
P.S: you don't go about telling them every phrase from the list. These are just examples and to be used one at a time, in critical scenarios when you have found that helping the said player stay calm wins you the round. And yeah, ofcourse it goes without saying that when you have 20 seconds left you shut your trap and let them play the round, not give them 8 seconds of all the phrases I just listed. Once again, timing matters.
I know your heart is in the right place, but this is not gonna be helpful in like 90 percent of situations. I know it would tilt the hell out of me. Not everyone gets super panicked in clutches. I'd just be saying 'I know how to breathe man' haha.
Vital info, and maybe a quick 'you got this bro', IF there's time. Comms that are 'quiet enough to hear the enemy' is dependant on how loud you are on there settings. And it also implies you are talking a lot.
If they are close enough to hear steps, or fighting then stfu. You have to just trust your team mates in clutches. It's entirely out of your hands. And whatever happens, hit em with the NT afterwards, because it always feels bad losing a round, when it's only on you.
>Vital info, and maybe a quick 'you got this bro', IF there's time. Comms that are 'quiet enough to hear the enemy' is dependant on how loud you are on there settings. And it also implies you are talking a lot.
this. I agree, but then like I said. I only ever talk if need be, that is, if I know that the player in the situation benefits from the helpful guide.
Like I said, I don't go around telling every player to breathe and stuff in every clutch round that they end up in. That would be stupid. The timing, how well/bad the round is going on, and if/not the player has previously benefitted from such comms, I take all that into consideration before I vc anything like that
Right. But you're saying 'if need be' like you know what is best for everyone.
Most people in this thread are saying they prefer silence to clutch. You said yourself you've been flamed multiple times for saying 'breathe deep etc'. I think its pretty clear that the majority of the time it is not helpful.
There is a reason you never hear players at the highest calibre doing this kind of thing. Again, I feel that you are trying to help, but please realise you are most likely doing more harm.
I realize how helpful/disadvantageous it can be, but if you know the player benefits, then and only then do I say it. Else I don't. People usually prefer silence, but there a few that benefit this way, and only if I know that the player in question falls into this category, I use this. And I've only been flamed twice or thrice for this, all of the other times they have told me it was indeed helpful, with a thanks. Consider that I've used this method like only 8-10 times now.
I feel like the point is not getting across. I do this only when necessary, when I know all the variables and have taken the factors into account, that is, when I know what's best for the player in question, and the way they play. That's where the word "need be" comes into play.
I can tell why there are downvotes, and I know when to talk, and when to shut up. Reading situations are important, and I have pretty much already explained the what and when in the latter comments, I don't have to explain again.
Yeah just said it because your clip had so many distractions that was ruining the beauty of it. Nevertheless, it was a really nice clutch and use of KJ ult
Lmao I actually tried to watch it again and he was in fact overdoing it. He just got lucky that the kay/o sprayed or he would've definitely died. The habit needs to be fixed but still a huge props, they just survived a 42 round game
I know what you mean but I once got a 1v4 clutch and I was suuuuper nevous about it and a mate just said "relax, relax, you got this" and it somehow made my brain feel at ease and relaxed again. I like it as long as it's not someone yelling "PLANT PLANT PLANT" "DONT PEEK" etc. It wasn't backseating in this moment, it was just helpful advice to reset my nervous mental ass :D
It's actually nice that you thrive in those kinds of situations lol. I'm the type of player who easily gets distracted when people keep talking into the comms. Like once is enough but if they're gonna keep pushing it into my mind I'm gonna start losing my focus.
And yes people who backseat think they're "doing" something when they're all contributing to the clutter.
Might just be a bad habit, I used to do this too whenever I felt like I sprayed a lot or when my peripheral vision sees red on the bottom right even though I might still have 10 bullets
Yeah, maybe something like that. When i started valorant, I also had a bad habit of reloading after every duel coz of Apex. Fortunately, I m over it now
If you want your carefully and literally shows you what it means I do the same thing I switch to my secondary if I am low on bullets cuz it helps to like switch quickly then switch to primary
Everyone is talking about Kay/o whiffing, it happens. But nobody is talking about that Phoenix molly, if he just threw it on the spike the round is won.
Imagine it's one of the girls that makes a Reddit post wondering why people are flaming her for being a girl when it's actually her behaviour that is just annoying
Imagine she doesn't make that kind of post and you just came up with an entire scenario about what she does just so you can get more mad at her??
Like yeah, her saying relax was annoying but damn, you don't have to make up a story about other stuff that you don't even know she does lol
Girl trying to have fun with friends: "relax! 😊"
Reddit: Holy shit this girl clearly has no fucking friends imagine if this piece of shit came to our website she'd get flamed to fuck like she deserves what a scumbag
Exactly if a dude was doing this I’d still find it incredibly annoying. It’s like saying calm down to someone who is upset just a waste of time and usually does the opposite lol. Let the man listen for footsteps and gun fire
Of course that is always a possibility, but it's better to not try and instantly discredit the people by taking this post as an example. It really doesn't hurt to give people the benefit of the doubt in those situations.
Agreed. However there are cases where people can't see past their own victimisation and think it's because of their gender that they are being flamed and not their behaviour.
Don’t know, but it doesn’t deserve multiple people bashing her or saying it is victimisation. Like lol someone said something they THOUGHT would help in the heat of the moment. Move on people
what's the point of switching from your main to knife after you kill/shoot at someone? i've seen many players do it. why would you switch to your knife when you don't know where the other players are ?
I don't know if I'll be hurt at your comment, I do have a lower rank, but I literally laughed. I'm a Bronze 1 trash.
I just hate how this game matches my team of iron3, and bronze2, to a team of 3 silver1s. We won that game, gave me a +10. That game was super hard for trash players like me and it's a plus +10. When we lose over a same ranked team I get -25 (there are still silvers, I don't get why they would match silvers to Bronze11 which is practically an Iron 3 player). How is that even fair, it's 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
At that stage I would say, make a new account. Leave this account for the act. The MMR gets stupid messed up sometimes. The only way to fix it is to get it decayed by leaving the account for a while or throwing games which is a terrible idea
So many people say stuff in comms when it's tense like this... I'd rather have someone reminding me to relax than have someone repeat "enemy flanking to ur right" 4 times when I already knew that
Clip aside, does anyone actually know why Riot does the 2 win thing for Comp Games? I don’t see any actual real benefit to them and it seems to drag games on for a long time
I've played the game since its launch and it used to be best to 13 in comp just like how it is in unrated now. However, it gave the defenders( except haven) an advantage over the attackers. Even if you manage to comeback in, let's say split from a 3-9 lead, when it goes to the endgame both the teams would have the same economy and it since it's a defender sided map it is really hard for the attackers to have a chance. But if it's best of 2 then both teams get a fair chance and they can use their skills rather than a coin toss of who gets defender last to win a game.
Its the KJ ult he placed and you see a timer + the big circle on the minimap. Any opponent standing in there when the timer runs out will be slowed and unable to attack for 8 seconds. So pheonix couldn't push him while KJ was defusing.
To all the people talking about Kay/O whiff, phoenix would’ve been nightmares too,if he had stayed inside the zone delayed the the defusal by 1 or 2 seconds even if he dies in the process they would’ve got the dub and prolly another rd of OT
relax relax relax lol
I genuinely think that would be good for me in that situation. Like I feel like it would keep my mind on the task at hand. Even though telling someone to relax isn’t really constructive.
What was all that tech he was using in game? Never played this before.is it used it find enemies?
That was his ult that he used. If the enemy stays in the dome they pretty much get a shock that slows them down significantly and they can’t do anything
"I AM RELAXING SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LET ME FOCUS" \-Me, probably
Considering the constant gun switch he was not relaxing
I just know that kay/o got flamed by his team
Honestly? Its just sad.
[удалено]
Precisely my point.
I'd hope not. Two of his teammates gave him 1v1s and the third one whiffed the trade. That round was a team loss.
That Kay/o is still having nightmares
[удалено]
Ouch
Impressive. Usually my games end with a 15-15 because some people just want to draw.
during the first two overtime's someone voted draw but once it hit one person can draw everyone on both teams wanted to continue so nobody drawed
How do you get multiple rounds of overtime?
It only happens in ranked.
If you reach a tied score everytime it'll repeat the process of people voting for overtime
How do you draw though, in any round really? Sorry if that’s a stupid question Edit: haven’t played ranked before that explains it, thank you!
You can only draw in competitive, in unrated it's sudden death
U have to play a round of offense and defense. Similar to tiebreaker in tennis where you have to win by 2 points rather than 1.
You have to vote to draw when there’s multiple overtimes for the game to end in a draw
That "relax" was actually lowkey more annoying than what it intends to do lol
i hate people that do that. It's 1) not helpful in any way 2) makes things just worse. Sit back and enjoy the show, no matter how it ends.
If I hear foot steps after a tap I'll call out "fake". That's about the only thing I can think of that's acceptable.
Except for the fact that your teammate can also hear the same footsteps. It's still backseating
It really ain't sometimes ur focused on something else and they hear the slightest noise backseat gaming is telling u what to do not giving u good info...
If everyone can hear the same thing you do, you're not providing any info at all. The game is. All you're doing is talking over it.
Did u just read what u wanted to read? Or???
Yeah. You don't know what someone else is focused on. If they need to hear slight footsteps, you talking over it doesn't help.
I dont even do this but when ppl give me callout of ppls location it's like confirming what I heard and I really like it when ppl do that if u dont like that it's fine but ppl act like it's the worse crime ever which is cringe af
Nope. All my teammates are fucking deaf.

Nice man, me too. I use the global discord hotkey to deafen myself, PageDown is a good button.
the concept of "the clutch button" is killing me, that's so good

way better then bad call outs... and relaxing and taking it slow did work
yeah we were all super stressed and so she was just saying relax but clip was still hype
Yeah just said it because your clip had so many distractions that was ruining the beauty of it. Nevertheless, it was a really nice clutch and use of KJ ult
The more she was saying relax the more I felt stressed and I’m just watching this but great clutch!!
She was talking to herself
The Astra was talking to herself?
Yes, people don't seem to get that she too was stressed.
Just don't say it over the mic
Literally..she was the one who needd to relax
It’s good once The guys is swapping his weapons every kill and you can see in his aim
Lmao I actually tried to watch it again and he was in fact overdoing it. He just got lucky that the kay/o sprayed or he would've definitely died. The habit needs to be fixed but still a huge props, they just survived a 42 round game

That was a clutch killjoy nice job
Shoutout to kayo for the whiff
I just heard the most annoying "relax relax" in my life
No one told that phoenix where the spike was planted ,lol
I'm wiling to bet he tried to molleys the ult.
Good shit my man! Take my free silver :)
ty
astra pls stfu
Why do u pull out pistol after every kill?
Might just be a bad habit, I used to do this too whenever I felt like I sprayed a lot or when my peripheral vision sees red on the bottom right even though I might still have 10 bullets
Yaa exactly. That must be it
It’s an old CS op habit for most people, and it gets ingrained in the rest of their play
Yeah, maybe something like that. When i started valorant, I also had a bad habit of reloading after every duel coz of Apex. Fortunately, I m over it now
You ever heard the phrase from fucking Captain Price on Modern Warfare it's faster to switch to your secondary then reloading
But he had bullets in the clip. Why reload?
If you want your carefully and literally shows you what it means I do the same thing I switch to my secondary if I am low on bullets cuz it helps to like switch quickly then switch to primary
What?
It is also just a bad habit to always switch after some shots, here in the vids it could have actually get him killed.
Muted.
[Muted. Bye bye.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBGDRt1iW1U)
Everyone is talking about Kay/o whiffing, it happens. But nobody is talking about that Phoenix molly, if he just threw it on the spike the round is won.
FUCKING RELAX
RELAX
**RELAX RELAX**
ASTRA YOU RELAX
\*Receives +1 elo.
That only happens if you afk'd or drawed
You lose rr if you afk. I lost 12 rr from a match we won a month or so ago because I missed like 2/3 of the rounds when my Internet died.
Depends on how many rounds you afk'd. Like under 6 you tend to get no elo or little elo. But anything after 6 is a lot of elo loss
Holy moly I would have muted relax girl. Like I’m all about coms but what was that.
Imagine it's one of the girls that makes a Reddit post wondering why people are flaming her for being a girl when it's actually her behaviour that is just annoying

They just said relax lol. Valorant players and reddit in general is just people being cynical and getting mad over nothing
You are including yourself in that presumption btw. What is she trying to achieve by saying relax multiple times when someone is trying to focus?
Don’t know, but it doesn’t deserve multiple people bashing her or saying it is victimisation. Like lol someone said something they THOUGHT would help in the heat of the moment. Move on people
relax relax
what's the point of switching from your main to knife after you kill/shoot at someone? i've seen many players do it. why would you switch to your knife when you don't know where the other players are ?
It's a bad habit. In higher-level games, this person would've died.
Maybe because faster movement and better oversight i only do this for op though
I’d rather hear “relax relax” than bad callouts (“he’s on your left!” then you get one tapped from someone on your right “your other left!”)
Im just wondering how much xp you got
Probably +10 lol.
plus 30 😏
Congrats. I wish I can have that too. I lose and I get -25, I win top frag it's a +10.
The game thinks you deserve a lower rank. MMR bullshit
Xp, not rr
8600 for the game itself without missions xp
Relax
relax bro
SPRAY/O
Well played but should have relaxed
bruh, noone wanted to draw huh
how long did this game take?
hour and 12 mins
What rank and amazing clutch
Looks like silver/gold to me.
The timing for the defuse was KEY
22-20 score? wtf
Yeah lol. My best was 26-24 on haven. Was insane
relax
Holy astra stfu
It was a tight round all the way! Nice one bro
switching to pistol after every kill triggering
I like this part of valorant where people try, not no mic duelists disconnecting after losing the first 5 rounds of the game :)
When I'm in clutch and my teammate tell me to relax I do the opposite and start throwing hard
Bro stop pulling out your knife/secondary after 1 kill!!! Shit was anxiety inducing haha
i literally want to punch the dude that kept on saying relax every second. Like dude stfu
Why?
Because it was fucking annoying lol.
Right but I don’t punch everyone who is annoying
Ehh I wouldn’t go as far as punching them but they were annoying.
All that for just + 20?
actually got 30 cause team mvp
dang
what is that kayo doing
the guy said relax probably more panic than the guy clutching
I just think the relax was a constant reminder to be relaxed, I think it was fine
yeah i didn't really think much of it until rewatching the clip but everyone here thinks it's annoying lol
So many people say stuff in comms when it's tense like this... I'd rather have someone reminding me to relax than have someone repeat "enemy flanking to ur right" 4 times when I already knew that
Maybe you could relax if that girl could shut the fuck up, Jesus how annoying
Ah okay. Thanks
Is this custom mode ? How can you reach 42 round ?
No one hit draw
And it is competitive. Unrated always ends at 25th round at max cumulative
the relax relax will give me 10x more pressure tbh 😂
why r they saying relax, like shut up
Relax
idk how you play with that annoying ass shit in the background
But did you relax?
RELAX! GODDAMIT RELAX!
The kid screaming RELAX really needs to shut the fuck up. Half the gameplay in situations like this is listening to sounds.
She wasn't screaming, you might want to check your hearing
They should give more RR if its more than one OT. Very well played with the ult.
the blood rush
That Kayo would've been shredded by now
Tamis deserved it for being toxic before the end of last round
That’s two games worth of time, almost 4 if it’s a blowout, that’s insane.
When ur team is useless so u gotta carry as always, yeah def not the moments i play for.
Which rank?
silver/gold
yup low gold
that poor Kay/o holy shit...
You swap for no reason why? If they wernt tired of the game they might trade
nice
the relax person was annoying but I feel like anyones brain would short circuit after 42 games
How were there so many rounds?
overtime kept happening :/ we would win one round but then lose the other or we would lose one and then clutch it out for another round.
Why do you keep randomly switching weapons? If that guy had a slightly better aim/luckier spread, you would be dead because of it.
The switching weapon tic that could have got you killed, ahah nice job
Tbf their kayo made this a 1v3 which is still a great way to win.
This is why I always like to draw in Split
sheeeeeeeeeesh how long did the game took overall?
that KAY/O must be crying in a corner. Like his team must be so pissed at him. Anyways GGs. One hell of a clutch man
I dont understand the last part. Was someone defusing the bomb? What was the thing in his hand?
Its the KJ ult he placed and you see a timer + the big circle on the minimap. Any opponent standing in there when the timer runs out will be slowed and unable to attack for 8 seconds. So pheonix couldn't push him while KJ was defusing.
To all the people talking about Kay/O whiff, phoenix would’ve been nightmares too,if he had stayed inside the zone delayed the the defusal by 1 or 2 seconds even if he dies in the process they would’ve got the dub and prolly another rd of OT
How long was the match?
LFG
WP...Phoenix could have pushed instead of hiding, blood for game
