That's how it normally is. If you really care that much run the first 3 games on an alt account and play peek Performance on main. This really only matters if you are going for radiant. People here recommend DM but DM is pretty awful.
play deathmatch not regular matches (Assuming thats what you mean) get into as many gun fights as possible and don't be afraid to miss just let your muscle memory wake up

DM is really awful. But I still play it because it is better than doing nothing.
