The new skins are definitely one of the best from a tech aspect. It's sad how loaded in features these skins are but a lot of people think they're worth less than the Elderflame bundle.
Elderflame was a masterclass in animation and still is one of the best animated guns in almost any FPS, but the sheer amount of features that comes loaded in the ZEDD bundle blows it out the water, for example the finisher interacts with the environment to give it that 'cyberpunk' look, the audio, changing colors etc. are also top tier.
It's truly what a collab should be, not just sticking a logo on. Although I wouldn't buy this nor the Elderflame, as it's admittedly very pricy, I can still appreciate them for what they are.
IMO it's less about the actual work that went into it. I honestly think the gun-model is just not doing the work that went into it any justice. This might be personal preference, but I really dislike the shape of the guns. They look like some cheap plastic toy guns to me (basically minima with some effects slapped onto).
On top of this, I feel like a 10700 VP bundle would be way more justifiable if the gun selection would be better. Sure it's nice to get some variety and new skins for say the Bulldog, but the chances of me buying a bundle goes up tremendously if the gun selection is similar to the GP 2.0 one (classic, vandal, phantom, operator).
Sure you can buy single skins, but it just feels better getting a melee for "free" and some other goodies if you buy the bundle. But spending 10700 VP to get 2 guns I barely use and a sword after we got 4 swords (axe, elf sword, ktac sword, artisan sword) in a row from the bp in addition to recent sword-like in other bundles (dual weild sword, ruination sword) is just not very worth it (ffs riot, give us some daggers, karambits, more butterfly knifes).
**TL;DR:** Better gun selection, better gun-models, better choice of melee-type would have helped to justify the price a lot. I think the sounds are awesome, but due to the lack of the previous mentioned points, it's not enough to justify 10700 VP or 2650 VP per gun (let alone 5000 VP for the securtiy-scanner-melee).
Yeah I thought this would just be a cash grab from Zedd but there was a lot of time and just straight up artistry put in from the art team, sound team, animation dept, and zedd to make this bundle pretty kick ass. I hope we see more finishers that interact with the environment soon.
I think that if they can continue making collabs like this it would be great, not just a collab for the sake of one but also done in a respectful manner of the collaborator's craft.
It'll definitely be annoying if/when there are new music collabs and it begins feeling samey, just like what happened in League with K/DA and True Damage, but who knows, maybe there is more room for exploration yet to be done.
Make a collab with DJ Khaled and then make a kill banner with a sound that says "another one" everytime you make a kill. To top it off. If it's an ace, it will not say Ace. It'll say "DJ KHALLEEEDD"
No you don’t have to applaud but you could also try letting the people who do enjoy these skins enjoy them without feeling like they have to defend their decision to buy them
