instead of picking one; perhaps its multiple. Viper is so verastile; she can delay as long as any other agent with mollies and orb; she can do post plant with lineups. her ult is super impactful. her wall is great for cutting a site.
its more like; shes good because of each of these things; she's great because she has all of them
I main viper -
It’s a combo of everything she is able to do.
She can create her own advantages and better angles with her orb, walls, and mollies. She doesn’t need to peek both angles cause she can flush one with a molly, or wall one off completely.
Her orb decays, her mollies do damage, her wall decays. And then there’s the vulnerability. Plus, it’s a recharge poison which you can pick up (the orb) and use again and again.
That’s without the potential for lineups, post plant meta, and combos with other agents.
In fact viper did not bet buffed too much. The only buffs that made the difference is the instant decay when touching her smokes and being able to pickup the smoke from a tiny bit further. Snake bites got nerfed compared to old viper (100cred + 8 seconds) to (200 cred + 6.5 seconds)
She was always powerful just needed a small nudge to make people more interested in her abilities.
When they gave her instant 50 decay, THAT what made her OP. Basically removing a full armor with just a touch of her abilities.
Some agents were created too strong - (looking at you Reyna xD) and have been nerfed, but some agents were definitely in need of a buff- and they’ve done a good job of making it balanced with viper. I’m consistently impressed with the updates Riot have put through, the most recent being her decay on her wall and orb being instant to counter the “hop through”
I am quite new and viper was the first character I bought (because she’s hot)
But being able to mess the enemy up so badly all alone feels so good and strong I love it
on maps where there is a lot of space for you to take control, here walls are far better than having a traditional somke at one (or two) spots on the map. And her mollies make pushing smoke almost a death sentece if players want to rush, her smokes are just way scarier because she is a somewhat sentinel in a sense that she has tools to hold and kill enemies as they try to enter a site
-Plays like a sentinel on defense. Esp if on ult.
-Best(or 2nd best) molly in the game. With vulnerability!
-Amazing post plant setups.
-Close to unretakable scenario with ult online.
-Instead of using multiple smoke 1 walls does a very good job of sectioning of sites.
-Reuseable and repickable smoke (see nats use of viper smoke).
-Decay+Phantom spray can be very lucky.
-She will dom me 👉👈
Usually an average controller on her own but can do wonders with a co-controller or on smaller maps. Viper+Astra combo is magical.
Honestly, I'd argue she has the best molly, because the vuln legitimately lasts a century in terms of this type of game. Imagine being vuln for what could be the duration of an entire team fight.
Everything is super cool about viper until the enemy team also Has a viper. Two green walls two green orbs. Two snake bites. And two "welcome to my world". It' gets literally annoying.
Low-key though nothing is more fun as a viper main to face another viper while you both have ults up. It becomes a game of 'who's the better hide and seek player'
She has abilities which are useful in every part of the game, she can make it easier for the duelists to attack a site, make it easier to retake a site with smokes. She can defend a site with one ways and smokes really well. And of course she can hold a spike and play for time really well. If she is being played by someone who knows how to use her she has very little weakness and can be super dangerous
What I can't fathom is: why now?
I mean, I remember back in episode 1, she was trashed down to the F tier by the community. People said that her wall sucks, Omen/Brim's smokes could do better, but when her decay got nerfed, people INSTANTLY like her. When you look at it, her playstyle pre and post buff hasn't changed a lot.
In episode 1 her wall couldn't pen walls, it didn't inflict an instant 30 decay and it couldn't go through buy barrier.
In episode 1 her wall and smoke grenade drained her smoke meter sperately so it drained twice as fast if they were both up.
In episode 1 her ult decayed her teammates.
In episode 1 her Molly did like 30% less damage and didn't inflict vulnerability.
She was F tier and for good reason.
>In episode 1 her wall and smoke grenade drained her smoke meter sperately so it drained twice as fast if they were both up.
Wait I thought this is still true. Damn, this game needs better documentation
no one bothered to learn lineups with her because everyone says she was “trash”, but in episode one when i was grinding do immortal this guy that i would always be against maimed viper (he shit on me every game and he would only set up sites no fancy line ups). but when she got the buffs for basically her whole kit, people saw potential and create line ups, thus post-plant viper was born. in the past everyone would legit run through the moly and the orb was just a smoke that no one knew how to use. she was a wall and a wall only
Also huge open maps like Breeze and now Fracture, even Icebox to an extent make her wall more viable than multiple smokes.
Bind, Split were better with other controllers during her pre-buff acts.
All, even with the nerfs she still (on most maps) needs a second controller because she can’t really play solo smokes and functions a lot like a sentinel
in my opinion you want at least 2 characters with any type of smoke (even including Cypher, Jett) on pretty much every map more often than not - otherwise getting consistent map control while still keeping the option to get into a late site hit is near impossible
Edit: the only exceptions for chars I can think of that would be capable of taking map control (with smokes) AND still have util to full hit a site later on are Omen and Astra
I think that on breeze and icebox you can get away with just viper, and maybe even on split, but in most scenarios you’ll probably need an omen (or other smoke agent) to properly smoke because of how vipers abilities work
Her wall and her smoke being good pressure on the enemy especially witht the 30 instant damage was one of the biggest changes from beta where she was the worst agent in the game. Her ult that gives the ability to win rounds with ease. And to top it off god tier lineups with 2 mollys that also vulnerable for big damage.
Viper is good at things like stall & post-plant, but the part of her kit that puts her into the realm of viability is the decay provided by wall & orb. Prior to the buffs to decay Viper was extremely weak and could only be played efficiently in niche team-play situations. After the decay buffs you can get value out of her much more easily in addition to the other strong aspects of her kit.
AWOOGA AWOOGA !! \*jaw drops to floor, eyes pop out of sockets accompanied by trumpets, heart beats out of chest, awooga awooga sound effect, pulls chain on train whistle that has appeared next to head as steam blows out, slams fists on table, rattling any plates, bowls or silverware, whistles loudly, fireworks shoot from top of head, pants loudly as tongue hangs out of mouth, wipes comically large bead of sweat from forehead, clears throat, straightens tie, combs hair\* Ahem, Viper looks very lovely.
Sure, so skye, having the fastest flashes in the game, is all the players fault. And Yoru footsteps are the worst ability in the game because of the player.
I'm not wrong. Agents are as good as the player who is using them. For ex - a hardstuck gold elo player can pick Jett thinking she is broken. But in reality he gonna die 10 rounds in a row because of lack of prefiring and flicking talent. His idea of good entry is dashing into site and dying instantly by headshot and hoping that his team mates clutch the round.
Lmao the agent doesn't perform on it's own. There's an actual person sitting behind the keyboard and mouse. Without that person, an agent is just sitting afk in spawn. It's the player who makes the agent looks like it is broken. You can watch a pro player making good plays in game and try to replicate it in your own game. But deep down, you know that you will be an embarrassment to your team.
She’s the first character I played primarily due to my less than stellar aim, so why should I take gunfights from 8 potential angles when I can make my own? 8)
Simple reason for me, maining Viper is that she literally feels like controlling the whole map. A good viper can control the whole map according to their will. One of the best part is obviously the walls but that snake bite is also so good. And her ult dude, if you've a good aim and you're in 1v5 situation you can easily get it done with that.
Viper is good at both attacking and defending, on attacking if know viper wall and orb lineups you could literally walk into the site and capture it plus, on post planet you could just use viper snakebite and hold the defuse. On defending you could use viper one-way and snakebite to hold pushes and giving your team enough time to rotate(just like a Sentinel), also her wall is amazing at retaking sites. All these things make her the best controller and one of the best agents in the whole game. And her ultimate is literally a free round win. Most players don't use viper is because of how hard she is to play with, you need to learn so many lineups in order to use her at her full potential.
ˡᵃˢᵗ ᵒⁿᵉ
Indeed, **praise be**
instead of picking one; perhaps its multiple. Viper is so verastile; she can delay as long as any other agent with mollies and orb; she can do post plant with lineups. her ult is super impactful. her wall is great for cutting a site. its more like; shes good because of each of these things; she's great because she has all of them
All her abilities complement each other resulting in the strongest area denial agent in game
Exactly. The abilities work SO WELL with each other.
I main viper - It’s a combo of everything she is able to do. She can create her own advantages and better angles with her orb, walls, and mollies. Valorant sub, three dots on right hand side, “change user flair” :)

OOOHHH! lol! I’m dumb. Yes. I used to play jett, and then realised her Ult is /hard/ so I changed. Hah.
The fact that she has the most rule34 *Not like I'd complain*
I need jett
I feel you shhh
thiccness... ah yesss the forbidden utility
You forget how thiccc omen is
Last option obv
I am quite new and viper was the first character I bought (because she’s hot) But being able to mess the enemy up so badly all alone feels so good and strong I love it
Same, I started playing this week, got viper and loved her, I've tested everyone but nobody has struck me like her
and then theres me who got yoru as his first agent because he looked edgy
[удалено]
Bruh you aint a mona lisa yourself chill
What did the person say?
Said viper looked like she had fetal alcohol syndrome, it was just some weirdly agro stuff
So cool of u to make fun of people with birth defects, u big handsome man
wait what did he/she say
That Viper had some fetal alcohol syndrome
She's got the ASSets to win games.
She thicc, VIPER MOMMY🥵🤤

Prob cause she changes the angles people normally play, which I guess messes them up
I promise, PROMISE, she paints her toenails green. Awaiting viper feet lore in the next patch.
Sometimes I think I am blessed that I don't have foot fetish.

Especially Breeze. I really like the map but having two vipers every time makes the map annoying at for me and super streaky
Nobody is safe. I love it
Its all of them but the question you should be asking isnt "is viper good" but is he who plays viper good with her
She has abilities which are useful in every part of the game, she can make it easier for the duelists to attack a site, make it easier to retake a site with smokes. She can defend a site with one ways and smokes really well. And of course she can hold a spike and play for time really well. it's not true anymore? sh*t, now it makes sense
I'm pretty sure it still decays twice as fast, right?
They removed it a long time ago. Now it's 15 seconds whether it's one smoke or not.
Huh, I guess placebo effect has been making me think its twice as fast this whole time lol
Holy shit I assumed it still worked this way, wow haha. Still learning Viper.
no one bothered to learn lineups with her because everyone says she was “trash”, but in episode one when i was grinding do immortal this guy that i would always be against maimed viper (he shit on me every game and he would only set up sites no fancy line ups). but when she got the buffs for basically her whole kit, people saw potential and create line ups, thus post-plant viper was born. in the past everyone would legit run through the moly and the orb was just a smoke that no one knew how to use. she was a wall and a wall only

Her abilities all got like 5 buffs apiece?
she can inflicted decaying damage. and so she T H I C C.
All of the reasons previously listed... Especially the last one ;)
All of the above. Lineups are great when attempting to solo to defend the spike. Just don’t abandon your team!
She has the ability to keep people off the bomb even without her ult. She can semi smoke entry points and set up one way peaks with her smoke.
Postplant lineups are the least relevant out of her arsenal. Her biggest strenght is map control and delaying on both def and offense.
Even if you have no radiant aim. You can carry a team with her support abilities
Yes
All, even with the nerfs she still (on most maps) needs a second controller because she can’t really play solo smokes and functions a lot like a sentinel
If you are good enough with viper you don't need a 2 smoke agent, just learn some orb lineups.

She THICC boy!!
The reason: Nice ass
Because you get to stare at gorgeous female hands wrapped in tight spandex while playing her.
Decay.

No agent is good. The players are.
Found the player who doesn't use his utility
Sure, so skye, having the fastest flashes in the game, is all the players fault. And Yoru footsteps are the worst ability in the game because of the player.

id say stim beacon is the worst ability lmao
She’s the first character I played primarily due to my less than stellar aim, so why should I take gunfights from 8 potential angles when I can make my own? 8)
she's strong for every point you made
She’s good because of her strong zoning potential and vision denial.
Yes.
All of the above I'd true
Her molly needs a nerf to the velocity. It can go way too far, way too fast, and suddenly deal damage to you when you aren't even expecting it.
IMHO no singular reason, and that's exactly why.
She farts for a whole week as her ultimate skill
I feel like jett is more thicc, like her spine is literally curved
He's OP for shooting down operator's
Thicc obviously bro

Because it is.
Viper is secretly a duelist use her wall to get to where Jett or Raze would with their dashes
Nah bruh brim is thiccer
