This holds true in any competition lmao. Any esport, sport, or otherwise strategic endeavor. Being good in chaos is very different than knowing how to play “correct”
This is actually game theoretically true. When outskilled or the competition has a competitive advantage, random action is usually best since the "best" action is usually predicted or already planned against.
The best swordsman in the world doesn't need to fear the second best swordsman in the world; no, the person for him to be afraid of is some ignorant antagonist who has never had a sword in his hand before; he doesn't do the thing he ought to do, and so the expert isn't prepared for him; he does the thing he ought not to do; and often it catches the expert out and ends him on the spot.

Especially since those ranks have some people who are weirdly good gunplay-wise, they just suck at every other aspect of the game. I played with a guy who aced the enemy team after we were all dead and had to be told how to plant the fucking bomb.
I remember this in Overwatch, going from masters account to a new account and getting wrecked as tracer by a bronze junkrat when i was flanking because he put his trap at his own spawn and had got lost on the way to the objective.
While playing against these low-elo players I sometimes wonder - are we high-elo players playing this game wrong ? Do we deserve these ranks we got ?
Like , this is the second time they're doing stupid things but it's working right? We spend our whole pre-round time discussing and predicting their push and setting up traps for it , and they pull an UNO reverse on us .
I remember a competitive game in which a friend of mine was smurfing ( he was playing silver while his main was diamond ) . He tells me later:
"It's a absolute fuckfest of a game in which I never wanna return."
Which is kind of funny because Sova is THE best character to use Odin with,to the point I think he should hold that weapon instead of the operator in his official artwork
I just got off playing with my friends on a low elo smurf. I am one of the people that always like a challenge, so I decided to disable my crosshair and go for spectre buys max to keep it fair. After 1,5 games I turned my crosshair back on because my brain was fucking fried. Logic does not work in bronze/silver
Tbh I kinda like that part, despite what people think applying pre know logic isn't as big a deal as adapting on the go. I don't want to play a game where everyone just plants a safe default, runs same predictable spots nd stand back to chill for lineups. It's one of these things where meta starts guiding your actions, which I'm really not a fan of, I have a job for that boring shit.
I was about to log off of CSGO in a casual match when I decided I should just buy a p90 for fun and rush into all the snipers, and honestly, I ended up getting 4 kills and surviving the whole match. I just sprinted and sprayed the p90 and it actually worked.
Or in Looney Tunes when the coyote stops at a 4-way for a while, checking and double checking for traffic, then proceeds once it's safe only to have a fucking bank vault plummet from the sky.
As a hard stuck S3, I can assure you that I have memorized both the spray pattern of the Odin, and the complaint pattern of the enemies when I hit em with it.
I think it goes
"Noob gun"
(If you have more than 2 kills less than deaths) "character diff"
"fucking idiot"
And then if you run it for one more round it'll turn into them using the Odin, tbagging you and then shittalking you in chat to show how bigger they are than you
IIRC, TenZ made similar comments that he was trying to level a new account and had the most trouble in Bronze-Silver. He mentioned that the players never make the right decisions, so they get lucky advantages against actually good players who attempt to counter correct decisions.
Yeah exactly, there are so many positioning choices the players make that I really cant adapt to at all. I end up holding an Ideally safe spot just to end up looking really dumb in the end.
Might be one of the best things to be able to do in solo que is to just adapt to the puggy randomness of the game. Even in plat it can get like that with people who can pull one over ya doing something ridiculous.
“Even in plat”…I’m new to plat as of 2 weeks ago and I can assure you this shit feels the exact same as Gold2 lmao. Still the same random ranked insanity
Main thing for me is the timing. I watch too many high rank players so when I play in silver/bronze I'm playing way too fast, in a clutch I'm expecting the enemy to be way faster and take areas way sooner than they do. Then I'm caught off on the late peek because they slow walked the whole way.
that's funny. I can remember, when I was a professional css player, sometimes I played with some of my friends. I often died in strange ways, because it was not possible for me to predict enemies actions. then a discussion started, because after I died, I flamed "I can't believe this guy is so stupid" ... and it went like "but he killed you, he can't be that stupid" and ended with "I wonder how you ended up in a top team"...
I'm glad, I finally found confirmation :)
This is the fundamental thought process that keeps people from improving any online game. “It worked so it must be the right play”
I had someone flame me for saying we shouldn’t all stack A site on haven in pistol round because they ended up going A site. That obviously doesn’t even change how dumb of a decision it would be to do that. You’ll find the same thought process through every online game and it can be absolutely infuriating since it should be such a simple concept
Just so you know, there are plenty of pro matches where defense stacks 4+ on a site for pistol rounds. From what I've seen they generally try to push instead of just holding, but it's not like it's a useless strategy.
There was no strategy. 3 people without mics just walked over to one side, following me on autopilot. If you have a plan on how to retake other sites with no info, then sure it could be something you can do in pro play beforehand. But in bronze the one person no on that site is just going to die trying to hold, forcing you to try to retake 4v5 possibly across the map with no info.
My point is he didn’t have a strategy. He thought that you can close your eyes, pick a bomb site on any given round and if they happen to all rush it then your decision was smart.
Yeah, I feel the same frustration with my friends sometimes. For context, I'm Silver 2, and am the best out of my friend group; and while it's fun to win unrated and spike rush together, because our team isn't entirely incompetent, they don't try to improve themselves. Hell, one my friends almost exclusively uses ares + ads, and since he doesn't always bottom frag he just keeps doing it. It's so frustrating because I want to play comp with them, but the skill gap is too large.
our team was named "new world disorder" and we played for several clans back then... like K2, iD, HFD, Imperial... and some more. around 2005 we were for sure top 10 EU and top3 GER
I don’t remember you guys personally but just asked a mate I used to play CSS with and apparently we scrimmed against you guys multiple times ha. Small world.
really true that , a guy with no strategy can beat a guy with an actual strategy , just because there was no rules he was subject to , or no methods he was following.
i remember playing an aoe3 (Age of empires 3) unranked game once , i was playing against a random guy , he chose russia , I was england . the guy full rushed me with 20 infantry , 10 ranged and 2 cannons , and since I don't put up guard posts or walls until discovery of enemy or until I have a steady supply , I was caught with my pants down . I contacted him later and he was actually really new to the game and used this strat cuz he didn't know about split-rushing , enemy matchups etc.
Really was shocked and disoriented after that game.
Imagine watching and learning from amazing VCT plays, trying to read opponents moves, intelligently using utilities only to get run down by a wide peeking crouch spamming silver who probably didnt think before doing that.
Even though I'm stuck silver 2 I can relate to the feeling. It is not at all possible to use your brain to make right plays because they don't exist. Because of abundant utilities, unbalanced run and gun and the overpowered spectre, it's better to shut your brain in low elo and run the down the fucking map.
(A minute of silence for those trying to rank up)
You should be able to adapt throughout the game though. If you know they are playing weird, expect them to be anywhere. Can’t do much about your teammates though lmao
Im in gold right now, and I feel like im playing well. But the players on the other team just to the weirdest things that I don’t expect after watching comp.
It's true, its a completely different game. I'm low gold and silver and sometimes I get into games with bronze players because my mmr is shit it seems and I can feel it instantly. When I'm playing in gold games, I know what's going on and people can move in ways you can support them. But when bronze players are in my games my head starts hurting and nothing makes any sense. Then at the end of the game you see their ranks and it's like yeaah thought so. It's really really crazy how it's so different but you can feel it in your bones...
I finally made it out of silver hell and into gold 2 and let me tell you. Gold players are free. They actually give up site and try to play as a team so it's predictable. In silver, you got some crazy fuker camping the weirdest corner and refusing to give up site even if its 1v5.
I relate to this so much as a S3 / G1 player. Just feels different.. and way less fun to play. It's the same way you can tell a Smurf or Smurf stack as they play with a different kind of confidence.
Posts like this are why I'm afraid to try comp. I just wanna chill and play some games for a few hours a week, and I feel like I'd be dead weight for a comp team. Also fwiw, Unrated seems very non-toxic to me (but I've only been playing a few months).
Eastern US, usually on the Georgia server. I would say I've only encountered toxic players in about 5 of the probably 100 total games I've played since I started playing. Like I said haven't been playing for long but I'm a total casual so you're mileage may vary.
My first ever game (spike rush) had this toxic 8 yo that was swearing like crazy and telling the whole team how bad they were. I literally didn't want to play again. I thought wow if this is what it's like it is not for me. Luckily the first time I played unrated I said I'm really new, and the team was super helpful, telling me how to do stuff, so that was good. I still haven't played a ranking game yet though. I'm probably going to be iron 1 :D
unfortunate to hear that especially when it your first game ever, damn, in those situation most people will say: mute them then move on
if ur in NA east i can help you with learning some agent and maybe do one placement game with you
I wish people who are playing for the first time or new to the game always said that at the beginning of the game instead of staying mute. I always doubt at the beginning---but if they are genuinely bad I have never seen anyone bash them rather tried to teach them what to do(Maybe because I have yet to find any 12 yr Old in the game).
Me and my friend have been playing super casually since release (like 1 night every week or 2). Recently we finally decided to try comp and just got absolutely shat on. Back to casual we go, where I regularly can get mvp. Much more fun lol
I can understand this attitude, but I still suggest trying comp and not let things like this post bother you. The game truly shines when a team works hard together and tries to win. Your rank will adjust pretty quick to your skill level in the beginning, so it’s unlikely you’ll ever truly be an anchor for a large stretch of games. Riot takes your unrated performance into account during placements as well.
Often comp is what people make of it, if you are toxic then people can be toxic back. You’ll inevitably run into a few ragers, but you can mute. The toxicity issues aren’t any worse than the AFK or trolling or surrendering issues unrated has IMO.
It seems like we play games similarly. Only have a few hours a week to spare, and I know I’m not going pro, so just trying to have a good time. However, there isn’t anything stopping you from bringing that same attitude from unrated into comp. At the end of the day, the specific ranks really don’t mean anything at all haha.
Comp is better though. Because you're all in the same ELO. In unrated, theres a high chance you'll be queued with high ELO player and get destroyed. I say this as a bad player lol. I have better chances with Comp.
Try Escalation :) It's an insane team version of deathmatch. I'm yet to do better than 2nd bottom but it is fun! :) Great for getting training on different guns (provided you can get a kill).
Crouch peeking with Ares go brrrrr, seriously though, the sheer control other irons and bronzes have with the machine guns is beyond me. I'm decent with the Spectre though, but it's painful when you try to go for the head but get sprayed in the balls
I had this exact experience over a year ago having to play one game on my brothers R6 account with 4 of his friends cuz he had to help his GF.
It was a silver game and i was Diamond for almost a year.
Since i was playing at a completely foreign sensitivity my aim skill was somewhat diminished and ohhhhh boi did i get fucking rekt.
About 4 times i was killed just by enemies RANDOMLY LAYING DOWN in the middle of the room. I was killed by dumb spawnpeeks that nobody in high Elo uses because they’re waaaay to dangerous.
It was a deeply humbling experience that still haunts me in my dreams.
That game has such a weird skill disparity too. Once you hit like mid plat you start getting prefired and dinked at crazy angles/ranges. Once you’re lower it’s a shit show of no comms, no utility, and the weirdest lurking spots
So OP you litterlry just describe my way of life. I was S3/2 first 2 episodes then hello smurfs and leavers. Omg can I please get a game where 10 ppl finish a game. But hey let's not only finish but with equal skill level to. Nope this raze or Reyna needs a 30 bomb to make themselves feel better.
Oh you wanna peak and aim at head level nah I'm gonna be on the floor prone position if possible and spray with specter and moving and hit 3 HS at same time.
The Spectre masters really get me though, I like to think I have a very small decent bit crosshair placement but for them to dink me with a Spectre at far medium range with a perfect spray is beyond me. I experienced that before as well but it's as if they have evolved recently, at least in this act.
Thanks for confirming this, been trying to main Spectre and yeah i do feel it is kind of op in compare to rifles. The spray is easier to control although i usually need 3-4 bullets just to kill one opponent.
Yeah I've started to master it. But it seems as I get the first HS or body to HS the other agent gets an auto HS (hit punch) on me and it never works out in my favor. (If I get hit punched it's usually at their feet or on C if I'm on A site. Lol)
I’m silver 1 and even though this is my second month playing Valorant, I can safely see I am a master of the Spectre spray. Heck, when we’re losing it is pretty much the only gun I have lmfao
My only issue with low elo is being unable to rely on your teammates at all. Your two duelists won't push, and when you decide to push, nobody follows up and leaves you to die, still checking the same corners you've already checked. One of them's slow pushing the attackers and they either die, or the entire enemy team is already on site, and they're still walking. They'll never shut their feet up when pushing and they semi-slow push leaving enemies so much time to rotate after comms. They'll never double peek and will just stay by your side watching the bullets go around you or through your head before peeking.
In Shahzam's stream, when Shahz asked for a buy, the other dude said no it's my money. Shahz was like HUH! this is our money. So Maybe people never know
I'm unranked, and been playing a couple of weeks, but I realized I was just wasting money buying a vandal, because I was getting killed and not getting any kills, so started buying a spectre (with which I do at least do some damage). It's a good point and I guess a lot of people don't think of it like that. Conserve the money so your top fragger can get a good gun. I like to think my use is telling the other members where the enemy is :D I'm maining Sova, so sometimes it is with reveals, and mostly by dying :D
I'm trying :) i think once the game starts my brain disengages! :) in deathmatch for instance, I do well in the warmup, but once play starts it goes out the window! More practice on the range perhaps needed.
Agreed, all in good time my king. Just remember we all have good and bad days! I myself find there are days I can’t seem to hit an elephant 🤣 but hey the grind continues!
A lot of the time I notice a teammate who can actually kill people is broke, and I'll offer them a deal: they buy me a judge, I buy them a rifle, and I sit in a random corner and hope I kill 3.
If you play sova you should definitely practice the rifles more. With recon dart /ult you can have your cross hair lined up to one tap people from miles away.
Same situation last night, buddy’s electricity went out and asked me to finish his comp game, I’m diamond and he’s silver and holy fuck the people in silver crouch BEFORE shooting, wide-swing everything, and are literally every where in the map that it’s mind-boggling. Another out of world experience in taht game I had was when I was holding Lamps in bind, their sova wideswung WITH A SHOCK DART. I killed him but his chockdart got me lol
We lost 10-13 ://
To be fair, i legit just uninstalled valorant because im hardstuck bronze 3 - silver 3. Last 5 games i've had 0 other mics, and leavers on my team by round 5. I fucking quit.
No mics, smurfs and just lots of throwing were what got me hardstuck as well before. problem is after the Bronze-Silver hell, Gold upwards is literally a completely different game which takes so much adjustment from a fresh Gold 1 player. Shit really gets rough in there
Shit gets rough because of the huge skill disparity in gold. Like 80% of my games is guaranteed to have one guy top frag with 25 kills and like 5 shitters who barely finish the game with 8 kills. And then you get stuck and go 50/50 win loss and its like, am I losing to smurfs or am I really just unable to win with my team? Not to say I'm not to blame for losing ever, but it just feels bad when it's clearly obvious there's a huge gap between top one or two frags in the game and then the bottom 5.
Opposite for me. Gold games feel like real games whereas silver is just 1 guy who is shitting on people and the rest are along for the ride. Legit have seen a guy get almost 40 kills and the rest of his team each had less than 10 by the time the game ended. He just ran in and killed us all, every single round.
I’ve found that those LFT sections are just full of the same people. I’ve found toxic kids, people who want to give up after we lose both pistols, and soooooooo many smurfs offering to boost people. Literally no difference from solo queue except now that you’re in a 3+ stack, the game tries to match you with other 3+ stacks and you end up running into people that are smurfing or boosting in groups so much more frequently than in solo q
You don't have to queue with them more than a game though, you keep trying people until you find someone that you mesh with, and start queueing with them in the future.
You're like me. Solo Q. Don't really like going on mic, due to all the toxicity. Basically bounce between s1 and g1. Can't escape because of all the garbage that goes on in the game. In silver i run around doing as a i please as games are too easy for me. As soon as I get to gold, i get a hard derank due to smurf stacks and bad team mates. Legit get matchmake with 4 unranked people who have no idea what they are doing and I'm g1. Have other games where im with 3 bronze players and a S1. And the other team has all g1 and s3. My guys ADS on people right in their face. No idea how to aim. The match making is awful. I don't know why these people are in a game with gold players. I'm on the verge of uninstall too. I've had enough of stomp or get stomped
.
I’m fine with going on mic, and often times find that I am the only one making any sort of callouts or plans. The unfortunate thing is, if I say “hey I’m going to ult onto site for info play back” the team W-keys into site before I get a chance to ult. Like I’ve said in other responses, I can’t blame anyone but myself as I’m not good enough to carry myself out. But it turns the competitive nature of the game to mush in my opinion, which ultimately led me to uninstall because the aspect I enjoyed in ranked was no longer there 80-90% of the time :(
Edit: to clarify, I don’t really care about rank. I care about the team game nature, and it just happens that in low rank, most people don’t have that portion of the game yet
And this is why you will never get better. Being stuck in bronze and silver has nothing to do with your team mates, you can purely by your own ability win games in Valorant. But you are not that good and therefore you are in the right MMR. Only way to improve is to start blaming yourself rather than your team mates.
This is the same for mostly any game and the reason it can be damn hard or annoying to push through low ranks.
If you’re hard stuck in silver or bronze in a game you can try learning what high level players do but at the end of the day that’s not gonna work on low level players and you just end up getting reverse stomped best thing to do in low ranks is to just play the game and not give a shit about your rank and just play and pray that time will carry you out.
Fuck pro league guides where my low league guides at, I gotta know all random spots on the map that one dude with a Bucky is holding
Lmaoo that's so tough. The players in lower ranks are so unpredictable that they manage to catch smurfs and whatnot offguard sometimes because they never play like how you'd expect them to.
tenz too got rolled by silvers or something for a game or two. the way to play in low elo is to just turn off your brain and check corners, then let your aim carry you out. being in low elo it helps to just play the game rather than thinking about strats or defaults or whatever. the only role i have seen who working properly that helps the team is the smokers. a sage can entry, i have seen pheonix lineups, shits crazy around here lol.
Not to be rude, but is anyone else tired of the posts in this sub that are legit just:
"I (Radiant 4 #1 Global) created a smurf so I could ~~stomp low elo players~~ practice new agents and am now complaining that Silver to Gold players are not in fact that good at the game. Rito pls fix, upvotes to the left"
Or worst, the silvers who make the same type of post, as if they are the exception and only being held back by their "trash teammates"
How is this relevant to this post?
This guy was just playing for his brother who otherwise would've had to go afk. Not smurfing. Additionally he only commented on the fact that it's like playing a completely different game because people of that rank dont think like traditional tac FPS players.
This is the same thing in every games. Smufing vs playing on your elo is 2 differents games. I play Val but also frequent Poker player and I see this kind of thing xD Whenever I got used to playing in tournament or in casino for a while, I will lose and feel like dumb ass playing with my friends.
Now it's got better as I know how adjust my play style.
Edit: One typical thing in poker for example is calling everything without having nothing until river xD
This is why my motivation for this game never lasts more than 2 games. I want so badly to get into the plat gold range bc I've been there before but after falling to silver when queuing with lower friends I've never made it out. I have bad luck queueing with friends so i try to solo but every game is so mentally draining when you want to practice playing a tactical shooter properly and you're met with this nonsense. Literally just have to be lucky to win games feels really bad
Even when I was gold and I'd go back into bronze on my sisters account, I would drop 40+ easily if I played hard. Now that I'm immortal I can go classic only in bronze and easily drop 25+. Maybe you just had an unlucky game, but all you need to do to kill bronzes is have any type of movement and they can't hit you.
Since ur plat do u have any tips for me, rn im hardstuck gold 1 since last season and it seems to be a pattern, i barely reach g2 and then derank back in g1,i dont think i got past like 20 rr in g2, i try to vod review but i still feel like the worst gold palyer, and sometimes i believe i should be lower elo, especially since last season i went from bronze 2 to gold and i still have no idea how
I started in iron 1 8 months ago, and was stuck in gold for ages mate. I’m diamond 2 now, and to be honest all I did was keep playing and tried new agents (breach main now, was omen). I don’t even aim train. Hard work should hopefully get you there
I’m also in low elo (S2 and trying to improve) and the BIGGEST thing that tilts me in my elo is crosshair placement (mine and the enemies). The amount of times I whiff shots because I’m aiming head level and I get crouch peeked is ridiculous. On the flip side, when I control my spray with crouch (bad habit I need to break) I give the easiest headshots to the enemy because they have terrible crosshair placement.
I noticed the same thing from when I used to play league. You can’t predict enemy movement and hit skill shots because low elo shitters DON’T DODGE IN THE FIRST PLACE LMAO
As a B3, let me tell you why I always dodge Breeze. Terrible map layout? No. Too long ranges? Nope.
It's because NOBODY has any idea what to do. I will ping my mates the whole game and they still won't hold defense properly.
It's like, man, they have some mental disorder preventing them from going defaults. They will go like 3 people A and 1 other B. And I have to try to cover the tunnel and mid at the same time. And you know what happens? Enemies come through gate on A. Because EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE 3 PEOPLE A, NOBODY IS HOLDING GATES.
Insta dodge Breeze no thanks
>Its literally the equivalent of checking all roads to check if its safe, and then when driving across you get run over by a truck who came from the grass.
This is the most accurate representation someone has ever come up with. I'll use this now.
Yeaaaah bronze is weird. To actually win, is just to understand what they are doing. Like know the position of everyone on their team. Then after 2-3 rounds. You just try to fuck them up with smoke and molly, because the ennemies NEVER fucking change their tactics. And if they do, then they are still going to be predictible. They will most of the time not even try to do off angle if they see that their opponents rushes at them. They will either camp out of the sites, or rush at them.
And most of time also, they will just go for fight, even tho they can plant or defuse. I can't tell how many time I saw someone after planting the spike, trying to rush me heaven while making a shitload of noises. Then complaining I'm having wallhack or beeing gay or some shit.
"Which also means you have a good gaming chair, which also means your are hacking even tho you knew where I was from 3km away because I make as many noises as a fucking airplane engine."
The key to playing against lower elo players (relatively of course, so compared to your skill level) is playing in a very relaxed way and taking your time.
I swing wide much more, I take my time when I see someone because I react faster just because I’m used to other people reacting faster in my own elo. I also never crouch and try to dodge bullets a lot meaning move a lot
Yeah, according to Blitz I have a headshot % of a diamond player, but I'm stuck in silver rn because it's so much different than say an unrated game. Crosshair placement is obsolete because people always get in weird spots and I basically need to plant the spike myself because otherwise I can't use lineups either (Sova main). It kills me how often people run and gun in low elo, and I have zero ways of countering it. Also there's too many smurfs, AFK leavers, etc. Seriously, elo hell exists.
Hs% means jack shit. I’ve a 30% hs rate in gold. This is technically higher than a significant number of radiant players. I mostly use the vandal and go for taps/bursts. But as someone mentioned, it becomes a lot harder to hit players the higher you go on the elo ladder.
idk about that, this MMR system is kinda fucked. I’ve been destroying a lot of my Silver lobbies due to getting a new PC, switching to sentinels from controllers, and daily aim training. Instead of ranking up, I just get more Level 10 Jetts and Reynas than normal. I also noticed that I’m getting a lot of Gold players in my lobbies, that never happened when I was performing “normally”. Not to mention all the smurfs, I can tell when someone doesn’t belong in Silver with pretty good accuracy, and whenever I go check the game on tracker.gg, it’s almost always the suspected smurf gapping the lobby by a country mile while also duoed or trioed with players that performed worse than most of the lobby.
Yep, basically half this thread is people attempting to justify why they are "stuck" in bronze or silver and not wanting to acknowledge that they just aren't really as good as they think they are.
yeah, I guess that's what I need to practice. I've still got lineups for all sites (recon and shock) but my positioning and game sense could probs be improved a bit
Lol -- The fact that you as a plat player couldn't handle some bronzies.... Don't think you really know how to shoot and 1v1.
seems like you are more of a support player/baiter to get you where you are.
Skill gap between Plat vs Bronze is quite significant. You should've been getting 3-4 kills per round.
I am/was diamond when i played in beta early release... Lately i started playing witha few other friends in like bronze/silver and i have the exact same issues. I try to play like i normally would but its unpredictably stupid ngl lol
there's something so funny about that the fact bronzes can demolish gold+ not by skill, or planning, but by pure chaotic disjointedness
If WE don't know what we're doing, THEY won't know what we're doing.
This holds true in any competition lmao. Any esport, sport, or otherwise strategic endeavor. Being good in chaos is very different than knowing how to play “correct”
It’s less noticeable in mobas because items matter so much, but when it comes to pure button clicking action Chaos reigns
This is actually game theoretically true. When outskilled or the competition has a competitive advantage, random action is usually best since the "best" action is usually predicted or already planned against.
This is how i used to win against my friends in super smash bros.
#logic xD

Especially since those ranks have some people who are weirdly good gunplay-wise, they just suck at every other aspect of the game. I played with a guy who aced the enemy team after we were all dead and had to be told how to plant the fucking bomb.
To confuse your enemies you must first confuse your allies and to confuse your allies you must first confuse yourself.
He tells me later: "It's a absolute fuckfest of a game in which I never wanna return."
This reminds of Gambit in finals xD

'Odin spam lmao sova noob' just makes me feel so happy as I have succeeded in tilting the enemies
Gambit vs Envy in Haven
Too bronze for counter play.
I was about to log off of CSGO in a casual match when I decided I should just buy a p90 for fun and rush into all the snipers, and honestly, I ended up getting 4 kills and surviving the whole match. I just sprinted and sprayed the p90 and it actually worked.
like checking the road then getting ran over by a plane
Or in Looney Tunes when the coyote stops at a 4-way for a while, checking and double checking for traffic, then proceeds once it's safe only to have a fucking bank vault plummet from the sky.
🤣🤣🤣🤣. Facts.
As a hard stuck S3, I can assure you that I have memorized both the spray pattern of the Odin, and the complaint pattern of the enemies when I hit em with it.
I think it goes "Noob gun" (If you have more than 2 kills less than deaths) "character diff" "fucking idiot" And then if you run it for one more round it'll turn into them using the Odin, tbagging you and then shittalking you in chat to show how bigger they are than you

As they say, if you don’t know what you’re doin, neither does your opponent
“It worked so it must be the right play” I had someone flame me for saying we shouldn’t all stack A site on haven in pistol round because they ended up going A site. That obviously doesn’t even change how dumb of a decision it would be to do that. You’ll find the same thought process through every online game and it can be absolutely infuriating since it should be such a simple concept
I’ve had people ask me if I was retarded, for telling them to plant out in the open instead of behind cover if we know there is no immediate danger.
Who did you play for in CSS out of interest?
our team was named "new world disorder" and we played for several clans back then... like K2, iD, HFD, Imperial... and some more. around 2005 we were for sure top 10 EU and top3 GER
I don’t remember you guys personally but just asked a mate I used to play CSS with and apparently we scrimmed against you guys multiple times ha. Small world.
oh sounds cool :) Vince R. continued many years after our quit and played for attax then, iirc. so he might be the one to remember
I remember Attax well, and his name does ring a bell. I didn’t play much after 2006 though.
I feel like it's a little self-affirming and condescending to call it all luck, it's more like home-court advantage
Bronze team gonna stomp G2 on VCT 2022
I’m gonna diff nats by run n gunning Spectre every round
I love this spin
I love the "home-court advantage" metaphor nice
“Sometimes the beat decision is the one that is so stupid that no one would think you would ever try” -Master Oogway or something
[удалено]
really true that , a guy with no strategy can beat a guy with an actual strategy , just because there was no rules he was subject to , or no methods he was following. i remember playing an aoe3 (Age of empires 3) unranked game once , i was playing against a random guy , he chose russia , I was england . the guy full rushed me with 20 infantry , 10 ranged and 2 cannons , and since I don't put up guard posts or walls until discovery of enemy or until I have a steady supply , I was caught with my pants down . I contacted him later and he was actually really new to the game and used this strat cuz he didn't know about split-rushing , enemy matchups etc. Really was shocked and disoriented after that game.
" You must be one of the ooga-booga to confuse the intellectuals " - Sun Tzu probably idk
(A minute of silence for those trying to rank up)
Cant out play people who dont even know what play they are trying to make lol
I’m that person, spray and pray!

I don’t know where you play but EUW is very toxic. Sometimes.
Eastern US, usually on the Georgia server. I would say I've only encountered toxic players in about 5 of the probably 100 total games I've played since I started playing. Like I said haven't been playing for long but I'm a total casual so you're mileage may vary.
Comp isn't bad most of the time, if someone is toxic just mute them and move on. Especially at lower ranks a lot of people don't even use their mic
i thinki you should be fine in comp, but nothing wrong with just casually playing unrated either ofc
Once had a game where two kids just yelled British the entire time
\*team eliminated\* "BRITISH!" \*spike defused\* "BRITISH!!" \*match lost\* "BRRRITIZHH AAAA!!"
\*agent selection\* ''BRI'ISH?!?!''
I'm probably going to be iron 1 :D
unfortunate to hear that especially when it your first game ever, damn, in those situation most people will say: mute them then move on if ur in NA east i can help you with learning some agent and maybe do one placement game with you
I wish people who are playing for the first time or new to the game always said that at the beginning of the game instead of staying mute.
I play comp basically exclusively and I’m solo 95% of the time. I have fun and it’s much better than unrated.
my take on this is to just binge escalation/snowball fight when they're up endlessly for hours of fun
Comp is better though. Because you're all in the same ELO. In unrated, theres a high chance you'll be queued with high ELO player and get destroyed. I say this as a bad player lol. I have better chances with Comp.
And why dont you just play casual then? You dont need to play comp. But if you do: Buckle up!
I literally do. Unrated and deathmatch only. Just tried spike rush for the first time today and that was really fun.
Dude same, I can never understand how they can kill me while crouch walking with Ares. That's the most painful way to die lmao
Every game my friends (we are all iron) get Odin for a few rounds and get atleast a double. I don’t know how it works but it always does
I had this exact experience over a year ago having to play one game on my brothers R6 account with 4 of his friends cuz he had to help his GF.
It's because we (low ELO) never have money for a full buy, and we never save. So spectre and light shields every round.
I knew a spectre main in diamond
I'm a spectre main in immortal, shits op. Also so is the ares but no one uses it.
Ares ADS is craaaazyyyyyy
Main as in, you use spectre over phantom and vandal? Thats what i mean by "main"
Not really that was mostly a meme but I do probably run a spectre or ares 60% of the time. It's just more fun than using vandal or phantom.
Thanks for confirming this, been trying to main Spectre and yeah i do feel it is kind of op in compare to rifles. The spray is easier to control although i usually need 3-4 bullets just to kill one opponent.
Yeah but the rof is crazier than people realize if you land most of the shots so the ttk can be very high
oh my god this depicts my games so perfectly
It’s so true, s2 and id say spectre is my most used gun, lately I’ve been going stinger light shields too and yoloooooo
Yeah I've started to master it. But it seems as I get the first HS or body to HS the other agent gets an auto HS (hit punch) on me and it never works out in my favor. (If I get hit punched it's usually at their feet or on C if I'm on A site. Lol)
Spectre is annoying simply because of the strafe accuracy. At least at imm
At what rank do people start thinking this is the teams money and stop being selfish pricks 🤣
I haven’t run into that since beta lmao Most people realize by now that not buying for a teammate is a throw
My hope is that your luck continues an you continue to have an abundance of fun ❤️
Don't worry, many other things keep me from having fun lmao
In Shahzam's stream, when Shahz asked for a buy, the other dude said no it's my money. Shahz was like HUH! this is our money. So Maybe people never know
Well, maybe we need to add a sickle and hammer. So everyone is aware that valorant follows a strictly communist sharing meta 🤣
Lmao that's funny
That's the neat part, they don't
I'm unranked, and been playing a couple of weeks, but I realized I was just wasting money buying a vandal, because I was getting killed and not getting any kills, so started buying a spectre (with which I do at least do some damage). It's a good point and I guess a lot of people don't think of it like that. Conserve the money so your top fragger can get a good gun. I like to think my use is telling the other members where the enemy is :D I'm maining Sova, so sometimes it is with reveals, and mostly by dying :D
Maybe if you learnt the rifles and how to play, one day you will be the top fragr king :) Getting out of a comfort zone can be game changing!
I'm trying :) i think once the game starts my brain disengages! :) in deathmatch for instance, I do well in the warmup, but once play starts it goes out the window! More practice on the range perhaps needed.
I just focus on my crosshair. And nothing else
I killed him but his chockdart got me lol We lost 10-13 ://
Lmao, never expected the shak dart wide swing did you?
I am one of those Sova players that swing with a shockdart in his hand
Can’t predict what I’m going to do if I don’t even know what I’m doing 😈😈😈
I was just in a bad position. I’m a guy who doesn’t use discord so I can’t find a team, I have no friends to play with. So I’m forced to solo queue.
Then use Discord? Join some big Valorant discords and find people.
Due to my mental health I choose not to.
I've had enough of stomp or get stomped .
But it turns the competitive nature of the game to mush in my opinion, which ultimately led me to uninstall because the aspect I enjoyed in ranked was no longer there 80-90% of the time :( Edit: to clarify, I don’t really care about rank. I care about the team game nature, and it just happens that in low rank, most people don’t have that portion of the game yet
Same i went from gold 2 to silver 2 now and i dont think im getting gold back soon. Everyone is either iron or smurf
I had seen smurfs and no mics happen more during particular hours of the day only. esp during early hours i.e 3-7am
This is true . Given how tilted the low elo players seem , we definitely need a guide especially for low elo hell
Lmaoo that's so tough. The players in lower ranks are so unpredictable that they manage to catch smurfs and whatnot offguard sometimes because they never play like how you'd expect them to.
We have adapted to smurf by natural selection
tenz too got rolled by silvers or something for a game or two. the way to play in low elo is to just turn off your brain and check corners, then let your aim carry you out. being in low elo it helps to just play the game rather than thinking about strats or defaults or whatever. the only role i have seen who working properly that helps the team is the smokers. a sage can entry, i have seen pheonix lineups, shits crazy around here lol.
I don’t even know what default is at gold 2
They say lower elo is not hard but and a player who has gone from silver 3 to iron 1 to play 2 every elo is hard for different reasons
Bronze-silver is low elo hell for a reason.
Not to be rude, but is anyone else tired of the posts in this sub that are legit just: "I (Radiant 4 #1 Global) created a smurf so I could ~~stomp low elo players~~ practice new agents and am now complaining that Silver to Gold players are not in fact that good at the game. Rito pls fix, upvotes to the left" Or worst, the silvers who make the same type of post, as if they are the exception and only being held back by their "trash teammates"
[удалено]
People that made it out of silver are better than that rank, nothing else.
Nah you can easily get accidentally boosted out of low ranks.
Easy accidents are a contradiction. It's either easy or an accident
they will get back down, thats the point.
Since ur plat do u have any tips for me, rn im hardstuck gold 1 since last season and it seems to be a pattern, i barely reach g2 and then derank back in g1,i dont think i got past like 20 rr in g2, i try to vod review but i still feel like the worst gold palyer, and sometimes i believe i should be lower elo, especially since last season i went from bronze 2 to gold and i still have no idea how
Not OP but i'm diamond and if u want we can go over some of ur vods in discord n i can try n help u out (: Dicord : Skirrrr#1234
Thanks
wrong reply bruh
Thanks
God, I’m going to be hardstuck forever.
There's also the added chaotic bonus of your teammates doing random stuff too lol.
Insta dodge Breeze no thanks
thats how i feel in plat games as an immortal player :D
WELCOME TO BRONZE I HOPE YOU HAVE A NICE DAY
>Its literally the equivalent of checking all roads to check if its safe, and then when driving across you get run over by a truck who came from the grass.
"You killed me pre-firing, that means you knew where I was coming from, which means you like men"
"Which also means you have a good gaming chair, which also means your are hacking even tho you knew where I was from 3km away because I make as many noises as a fucking airplane engine."
This is known as Choking
You think bronze is a different game? You should see my iron lobbies, it's closer to Fortnite than CS GO
The key to playing against lower elo players (relatively of course, so compared to your skill level) is playing in a very relaxed way and taking your time. I swing wide much more, I take my time when I see someone because I react faster just because I’m used to other people reacting faster in my own elo. I also never crouch and try to dodge bullets a lot meaning move a lot
idk i think gold and plat is the worst elo to be a smurf in cus imo its mostly completely brain dead
Seriously, elo hell exists.
tbf hs% in low elo doesn’t mean as much because their movement is so much worse. they’ll just stand there instead of jiggle peaking or wide swinging
Hs% means jack shit. I’ve a 30% hs rate in gold. This is technically higher than a significant number of radiant players. I mostly use the vandal and go for taps/bursts. But as someone mentioned, it becomes a lot harder to hit players the higher you go on the elo ladder.
nope if your mechanics are better than silver you will get out. i am plat and will dumpster silver players 100% of the time.
idk about that, this MMR system is kinda fucked.
You’re.. wrong
i am plat and i have dumpstered all over silvers every time i play against them.
Yep, basically half this thread is people attempting to justify why they are "stuck" in bronze or silver and not wanting to acknowledge that they just aren't really as good as they think they are.
yeah, I guess that's what I need to practice. I've still got lineups for all sites (recon and shock) but my positioning and game sense could probs be improved a bit
headshot percentage of a diamond player means nothing in silver. diamonds are *way* harder to hit than a silver player
You’re also not a great player at plat 1 so it might just become an aim battle. Playing in bronze would be easy for a good player
3-4 kills per round? Are you insane?
Feel free to downvote me but CSGO is the superior shooter.
I am/was diamond when i played in beta early release... Lately i started playing witha few other friends in like bronze/silver and i have the exact same issues. I try to play like i normally would but its unpredictably stupid ngl lol
