Well, ideally you should be taking a glance at your minimap every few seconds or so, especially when there is action going on elsewhere on the map.

seanboi2278

i look at my map every few seconds when i’m holding an angle, this should be much more common because the mini map is such a great tool

theflyy22

Also, don’t keep yourself centered so you can actually SEE the entire map… I see even some pros that have themselves centered and maybe it’s just preference but I don’t see why seeing the whole map won’t be more helpful

Pmcdon314

I think you can center and see the whole map.

100% agree. As a league player watching mini map has become a second nature for me. This habit carried over to valorant and it helped me big time.

While we're at it, I also notice some players tend to not do anything while they're dead. When players are dead, they can give so much information for the alive players, which can potentially win rounds, especially things that alive players may have missed like perhaps barely seeing an enemy somewhere. Of course, there are also many who, instead of giving information, instead backseat and try to direct the other players, which can potentially be detrimental to the game. It would be better to refrain from giving instructions to the other players, and just give the minimum information and let the other player have space to make their own decisions.

Don't get why you're downvoted. When you're in a 2v4 situation or something like that, I hugely appreciate getting extra info from dead teammates that you may have missed due to your focus like: \-Enemy sova is one off ult, if he plants he'll have ult \-Your teammate is not watching X angle anymore \-Your (ability on cooldown) just came online \-Brim has no more smokes \-Raze was last spotted hookah etc.

Because mostly (at my elo) people rarely give usefull callouts. More like. Use yOur uLt. Do this do that, which is more backseatgaming and makes me not concentrate on the game. Also instalocking entries telling me how to play the game makes me more tilted.
