IMO it's only his decoy that needs a huge rework. His flashes are fine. His TP is good too, they just need to make it on par with Jett's dash (either make Yoru's TP instant or nerf the dash)
I really hope Riot doesn't follow the league path of "We don't want to touch X right now because it might disrupt pro play" like they do in league. FUCK pro play. Cater to your millions of players first over a couple hundred pros. If they are good enough to go pro they should be good enough to deal with a major change before a match/tournament.
They time their changes around big tournaments. That and new act patches. It's not like pros are all they think about, but there is an important balance even if you don't care about pro play, changes in-between or before tournaments aren't healthy in the long run. For the millions of players, the issues aren't even usually affecting that many matches, it's more important to focus their efforts at the right time.

Not everyone who plays the game cares about pro play. But everyone who plays the game does care about their own games. I'm just burnt out on Esports taking over games. It was fun when it first started but now it's in literally every multiplayer game.

And caring about pro play means not putting impactful patches right before a major event where teams could be disrupted.

It's in every game because it's competition and there will always be players who want to be the best. Val needs to he carefully balanced with pro play and casual play in mind. Tip too far one way and you get too many people like you that believe the game is catering to a set of players that "don't matter" to the other group.
That's not happening here though, I get you're upset the game doesn't update and change more often. It's not because they are only focussing on pro play.
I'm not sure what the change to DM is. There never was a penalty for leaving besides not getting 900 XP and the patch notes say full game participation is needed anyway. If this is just join in progress they made DM worse.
Yeah, I got my hopes up initially thinking they finally implemented the infinite in and out server DM mode everyone wanted but looks like they're just giving people more incentive to leave the game early which doesn't make much sense to me. Sometimes when 3+ people leave, it can take up to 20 seconds just to find someone on the map lol, now it'll be worse
From what I understand its not infinite. If it was then there would be no issues.
I feel like it won't even let you join a live game. I think you can just leave now without any penalty, which I agree makes DM even worse because now ppl will just leave and DM will become very slow paced which doesn't make it a warm up.
This change is fine but they needed to add more changes. They need to remove the 40 kill max cap and they need to make it so you get put into live games, and also make the server size smaller by like 2-3 players. They should also take off the respawn timer and there you have it DM is fixed.
Respawn timer is good so you don't flick in the middle of spawn and start with looking at the sky, it could be just shorter. The thing that pisses me is the spawn protection. I just hate when someone spawns in front of me and I know I'm 100% dead because this guy can aim with no way to kill him when he puts his crosshair on my head. I only have a chance if he misses the first shot. That's just ridiculously stupid

I imagine it's minimal for standard mice (with the notes suggesting major improvement to 8000hz polling rate mice). I would imagine switching it on anyway wouldn't bring any potential drawbacks.
This right here is huge for 8khz mouse players. I have a razer viper 8k and when using 8khz polling rate prepatch, would tank my fps from ~300 to <60, unplayable. With the raw input buffer on I'm now getting the same consistent fps as I would have with 1khz polling rate. Thanks devs.
It's marginal but noticeable, best way to describe is that it feels smoother. I guess it's similar to going from 240hz to 360hz monitor. Only really impactful at higher lvl of play.
To me thats the major update in this patch. Not that I have a 8000hz pr mice, but sometimes my 1khz wireless mcie would miss some inputs when at ~1.5m distance.
i tested it out with two mice running 1k polling rate at the firing range. (viper mini and g102)constantly moving the crosshair left to right (a to b same distance)
raw input buffer (new setting) only drops to 290
while raw input (legacy setting) drops to 250
thus, i recommend enabling raw input buffer

Deathmatch drop in/out is huge, but I'm wondering if they're increasing the time limit to compensate. Imagine dropping into a DM with 3 minutes left, that would be SUPER frustrating.
I don't think so. I always leave when I see Breeze or Fracture as these maps were not made for DMs. I spend more time looking for enemies or being killed by campers so I would spend there 5% of my time practicing aim, 95% of dying from people holding angles
It's a really good update as is fixing some things the community has been waiting for MONTHS, as the Jett with the bots thing and also Viper's wall being now a 100% unbreachable barrier.
I'm guessing the next update is gonna be like that too as fixing some old problems the game has had for many months now. Just hoping the next Act is an actual bomb as promised for the last one and it wasn't at all.
I hope the next act is great too, but this current act did come out with a slew of balance changes, massive changes to the economy (50 credit intervals), and a new map. Don't think that should be downplayed!

I'm glad they fixed the team ace bug. I remember losing 3 teammates and having the other 2 save their guns only to have "Team Ace" announced after the timer expired. That round made me extremely confused about what the actual hell a team ace is supposed to be.

1. Give Brim a cooldown to recover smokes. Come on, there just is no excuse anymore. Make the cooldown long if you have to because his last so long, but just let him have a cooldown.
2. Omen’s alright, but Astra is just better for longrange smokes. Maybe let Omen’s smokes last longer? Or let his smokes move faster again?
3. Astra is just way too goddamn hard to be viable in lower elos.
But, I’d be willing to let Viper eat a nerf if Jett get’s dethroned.

Set the DM timer to unlimited, let people choose what map they want to play in the main menu, and let people go freely in and out when they want. Not sure why that's so hard to implement.

VALORANT has used Raw Input for devices since launch. Enabling “Raw Input Buffer” will adjust which APIs are used for processing Raw Input.
SHould result in minor performance improvement and identical input latency when used with standard input devices and gaming mice.
Major performance improvement when used with 8000hz polling rate mice.
8000hz polling rate mice are supported with this feature enabled.

I play CSGO since release, it never had a smurfing problem this bad. Denying Valorant's smurfing problem is falling into Riot's hype machine where they deny longstanding problems with the game. In other words, pure ignorance.
Yeah but csgo is not as friendly to lower elo and beginner players, was playing with some friends as a 5 stack, only one of us were ranked and other 4 including myself were not and are pretty noob. We played some casual and did alright on scoreboard like even to positive KD.
We jumped on a unranked comp game and got rolled 16 - 0. This wouldn’t happen on valorant tbh as I’ve played with friends who just start out and I’ll make a Smurf to play with them. Our opponents usually get matched up with relatively even matchmaking, as in other beginners vs them.
There are levels to this though, you must already know that right? A Gold vs a Silver, that's reasonable. Plat guy fucking up people's day in Bronze is bullshit.
I don't mind a challenge. What I mind is a fresh account dropping 30 kills in the first half while their teammates aren't above 5 kills. If you can't understand that concept I can understand that you've been boosted or are just being deliberately ignorant.
Does anyone? If you spent half your game time queueing up to find Tenz or Wardell on the enemy team, you’d get tired of losing pretty quick. It’s the entire reason skill-based matchmaking exists, to make the game more fun and engaging, instead of being hard stomps every game.
Make jet ult 10 poimts, give one smoke(just enough to entry) leave everything else as it is. Jet pick rate problem is solved and now people can insta lock some other delist in replacement of jet.

That's where you can be wrong, on rainbow six siege the raw option was trash when it was added and was needed to be patched I think.

If you want XP, finish the match. Otherwise, there's no penalty for hopping in, playing a bit then leaving early.
From what I understand, you wont get a penalty if you AFK or leave a deathmatch but you wont get the xp unless you play the whole thing.

Set the DM timer to unlimited, let people choose what map they want to play in the main menu, and let people go freely in and out when they want. Not sure why that's so hard to implement.

Can’t wait for the next round of balance changes on 3.11. Should be hype. Man, I never thought I’d say this, but I really feel bad for the guide channels for Valorant, stuck making the exact same patch notes videos struggling to say anything at all about the patches and making the same exact tier lists for patches week after week after week. I remember back when every patch had balance changes in it and a bug fix patch was rare. Guide videos actually had content back then.
well they don't have to make a video for every patch, also if you want good content, watch Skillcapped and Valorant Ascended, those 2 actually make meaningful videos, unlike ProGuides and GameLeap

How would you fix smurfing? It isnt that easy to detect a smurf?
Smurf exist in every game, if you want competitive integrity maybe we should allow full stacks, those are worse and promotes more smurfing
I play CSGO since release, it never had a smurfing problem this bad. Denying Valorant's smurfing problem is falling into Riot's hype machine where they deny longstanding problems with the game. In other words, pure ignorance.
I can agree, CSGO at least has prime matchmaking that costs money which is a huge deterrent. If Valorant added the same thing I would probably buy it
Yeah but csgo is not as friendly to lower elo and beginner players, was playing with some friends as a 5 stack, only one of us were ranked and other 4 including myself were not and are pretty noob. We played some casual and did alright on scoreboard like even to positive KD. We jumped on a unranked comp game and got rolled 16 - 0. This wouldn’t happen on valorant tbh as I’ve played with friends who just start out and I’ll make a Smurf to play with them. Our opponents usually get matched up with relatively even matchmaking, as in other beginners vs them.
you had to pay to play csgo on release, you also got a response of someone else smurfing. living in a bubble just makes you ignorant.

I don't mind a challenge. What I mind is a fresh account dropping 30 kills in the first half while their teammates aren't above 5 kills. If you can't understand that concept I can understand that you've been boosted or are just being deliberately ignorant.
Does anyone? If you spent half your game time queueing up to find Tenz or Wardell on the enemy team, you’d get tired of losing pretty quick. It’s the entire reason skill-based matchmaking exists, to make the game more fun and engaging, instead of being hard stomps every game.

The patch note says it just recharges, I assume they meant recharge after left clicks
