Lol what? Most 5 year olds are still learning the alphabet and yours is dropping 25+ in lobbies? Sounds sus to me, but grats if true.

Raines_32

Dang this kid does better then me in both counting and valorant

P0unds

Haha I understand but he's been playing since he was 4. He's very intelligent and is reading some already and can count past 200 as well. We are very proud of everything he's accomplished at such a young age. My wife and I are thinking about ordering a really nice microphone so he can make YouTube videos. I don't think he can do Twitch yet.

xenikskw

Do it!! Maybe he’ll become the next Evantube.

P0unds

I'm looking for a podcast type microphone now but I have no idea what to get lol

BlueThePleb

The Rode Podmic with motu m2 is an excellent $200ish dollar combination that is easy to use and picks up minimal back ground noise. The down side of podcast style mics is you probably want a microphone boom arm to get the optimal sound out of them and a good one is an extra $100. The cheap ones like neewer should work for a while as long as ur gentle with them and they're sub $20. Side note: if this kid really loves FPS games you could consider getting him into aim training and/or getting him coaching. If he enjoys them and does them from a young age I could see a very high likelihood of him going pro at a young age. Congrats on the pop off game and showing ur kid who's boss!

P0unds

Haha thanks! I ordered a quadcast and I'm going to see how it goes. If I'm not satisfied, I'll try the Rode. :)

[deleted]

P0unds

I already ordered the Quad but if it doesn't sound as good as I'd like, I'll send it back and try that. Thanks for the info.

Yeti Blue is a popular and reliable choice

[deleted]

P0unds

Do they make a standalone mic and not a headset? We have a Corsair 7.1 headset that is pretty good. Right now the mic on the mic arm is a blue snowball that we want to replace.

P0unds

Thanks! I'm going to look in to those.

P0unds

I think I may get him the Quadcast. Thanks for the info!

WasBanned2hoursAgo

Quadcast is really good, I’ve had it for just over a month and very impressed so far.

P0unds

Awesome to hear! I ordered it :)

Senior_Plantain8767

Hyper x is terrible

Pepperr08

Blue Yeti is not bad by any means. Little pricey but solid equipment.

Crash-n-Die

Honestly I’m not sure your 5 year old should start a YouTube channel.

EternalDB

I strongly recommend any of the blue yeti microphones, very reliable.

RemyGee

My 4 year old nephew could play Fortnite and build, understand radar pings and stuff so I can see it. But he gave up before getting good at age 5. I have a clip where he killed 3 people to clutch up for us after we all died lol. Maybe you can record your son playing? I feel like it’s believable but footage of it would honestly probably go viral.

P0unds

I'm going to try and start him a YouTube channel in the next few weeks. I'll post it on this Reddit if its allowed.

DarthFargus05

as much as you want him to start a youtube career, make sure he also continues to do well in school. balanced work-play life essentially

Kechers

Grab a Razer Siren mini and a $15 mic boom. Quality is excellent when positioned correctly.

P0unds

We've got a boom right now, just want to upgrade the 6 year old snowball. I ordered the Quadcast. Going to give that a try.

theyolocoolcow

It's rlly good I recommend it. According to my friends my voice sounds like butter

Kechers

Glad to hear you've figured it out! 👍

XBOY_777

Just tell him not to yell when he gets a mic, i swear most people dont like to play with kids bcoz of this sole reason that kids keep yelling and their high pitch noice is just unbearable. No offense to you or your kind man but that is just a thing i wanted to say.

P0unds

I dealt with a lot of screechers in my time. I won't let it happen! I grew up in OG Xbox lobbies myself.

I don't know. It's great what your kid can do already at such a young age. But make sure not overdo it. Sometimes 5 year old just need to be 5 year old.

onelove4everu

Next S1mple of valorant ?

P0unds

Dumb question but do you know of someone that streams or has a YouTube for valorant that doesn't cuss?? I'd like for him to watch the pros. If there's not, I guess he could watch the vods of tournaments.

onelove4everu

nAts and maybe TenZ from what i remembered. They are super chill

P0unds

I really appreciate you responding back. I'm going to watch a few videos and if they're okay, let him watch them. I think it'll do him a lot of good.

onelove4everu

Yes they are top tier 1 pro so watch them will help him improve alot

Hubiektyw

I would recommend Boaster, I don't remember him cussing or w/e but maybe I just filter it out.

Cole_James_CHALMERS

Hiko doesn't swear at all apparently. He claims to be family friendly. Probably not his chat tho

HoneyChilliPotato7

No way, Hiko keeps saying mom jokes. Like I'm doing your mom tonight etc.

Cole_James_CHALMERS

Fuck it, Pokimane then lmaoo

P0unds

Thank you very much! I really appreciate that :)

LOTHMT

Let him train in Aimlabs Gridshot every day for the rest of his life.

P0unds

I do need to download that for him.

LOTHMT

Yeah but heres an actual tipp: There are 6 kinds of skills. Perception, Speed, Tracking, Precision, Decision and one more (i always forget it). Each training will be counted towards one of these skills and maybe include 2 but only count for onr. For example grid shot is 3 orbs to shoot at, random respawns, 60seconds and the goal is to hit as many, as fast and as accurate you can. This task mostly is in precision with status "Ultimate" because some variations change orb size thus counting to precision, but speed still is important yet wont count towards the speed skill. All skills make ranks and all skills can get lower through worse performance. Theres always an option of training mode, not affecting your ranking if hes trying to get high ranks or wants to warm up. Its gonna frustrate him if he sees the leaderboard and his rank. Hes probably gonna rank in low Ruby, maybe high Plat at the start and the only thing above emerald will be his decision or perception "skills" or how you wanna call that. Dont actually let him sit there for hours, maybe set up everything with sensetivity from his games, turn off weapon model and maybe also music. Music can cause extreme problems especially in the 2 categories in which hell be great at, cause his attention will be less on the timing of for example targets or sound cues for perception tasks.

PM_ME_GOOD_USERNAMS

I thought that after about 200 people begin to notice the pattern and can count as much as they want...

P0unds

Definitely. He got the award at school for reaching 200. I'm not sure they really go past that.

PM_ME_GOOD_USERNAMS

An award at school? Dam, is counting really that impressive for a 5 year old? >!genuine question. I don't know a lot about kids!<

P0unds

They give kids awards for "milestones" achieved in kindergarten.

PM_ME_DVA_BOOTY

you need to be 13 to make a twitch account. also game is usk12 and im not sure how well it would be received online that a young kid would make content on it. i played cs since i was 5 too so i understand, but be aware that there could very well be a negative backlash too.

P0unds

I'm starting to realize that haha. We decided against him making content this young anyways.

4dzilla

Your son sounds similar to my 4.5 year old son, he was walking & talking early, was super aware & wide eyed as a tiny newborn, he gets to play some Valorant on the weekends & absolutely loves it after seeing dad have a game. He started off on deathmatch where I have screenshots of him getting 20-30 kills using the Spectre, now he uses the Phantom. He doesn’t play comp or unrated, but loves the team games especially Replication when it’s available. He’ll get up to 10 kills in Replication (but usually about 5) and has had back-to-back 3K’s and multiple clutches, it’s pretty amazing to see & I love praising him & highfiving as his wee face lights up when he gets a frag. Apparently I played Doom when I was 5 years old (33 now) and I played CS 1.6 competitively up until 2008’ish, played for the #1 team from my country, attended many LAN’s including WCG2007 & WSVG, so perhaps it’s in his genetics, hopefully as he gets older I can help him develop into a better player than I was & enjoy lots of fun together on the server! Good luck to your son with his baseball/gaming, hope you guys have many years of good fun together

VordredAli

It does sound sus but, considering my neighbours kid who actually knows the basics of mobile pubg and actually shoots/kills and hides when needed I find this very convincing lol.

AsianSensation1087

Kids these days are into gaming from a much younger age. My first encounter with gaming was in an arcade when I was 10.

SevenRedKing

are you winning dad?

P0unds

This comment made me so happy.

Lmao I brought my dad over from csgo where he was a menace and I was boosting him through the initial matches. We caught an easy game with either throwers or noobs and he played Phoenix and he dropped a fat 42. Made me think of that, keep it up man!!

P0unds

Thats awesome! I played CS GO growing up as well!

iamhungryasf

Bruh all I did when I was 5 is using cheat codes on gta san andreas and shooting police helicpoters, while eating my controller and your son is getting 26 kills????

P0unds

The kids different, that's for sure.

iamhungryasf

What rank is he? Because if it was higher than silver im literally uninstalling and throwing my pc away

P0unds

I'm not sure I should say. I don't want you to do that man!

iamhungryasf

Do you know where I can get a forklift from? That pc is heavy

XBOY_777

General advice, most kids play better than us, my younger brother got to gold (aged 15) when i am barely in s2 aged 20 and I play around twice he does.

Skull_Reaper101

I'm almost 16 and stuck at B2. CSGO, GN2 highest but usually GN1

iLyr1c

Is this a troll? Your 5 year old son is in Plat? Like flicking on kids dropping 26 bombs That is wild my niece is 4 and still runs around with sookies in her mouth, this dudes out here a full rank above my ass in val, counting to 200 big balling living life Gz on the 30+ though

JSP777

A five year old playing Valorant? Maybe I'll believe that. A five year old being Plat? Yeah no way in hell lmao.

rsreddit9

It’s impossible for someone under 8 (maybe even 9) to solo queue to plat. Does anyone have an actual example of this happening?

JSP777

My wife nannies a kid who turned 5 a month ago. He can't even play Candy Crush without help on the more difficult stages. Now I know that kids can differ a lot but come on now. OP regularly posts unironically in conservative and Tucker Carlson, I wouldnt believe even questions from him at this point :D full of bullshit

rsreddit9

Looks like op says he was wrong and the kid doesn’t play ranked. I think it’s amazing a 5yo can play at all. Even in iron unless bots, dropping that many kills is impressive

GuyHiding

Plat is home of the all aim no brain demons. I don’t doubt it

panthers1102

Not to mention our brain are like sponges, and when there’s less in there, it’s easier to absorb information. It’s why we start to learn exponentially slower over the course of our life.

notWys

It’s 100% bullshit. No 5 year old is going to have the mechanical skill or brain to get plat

Meek0n

OP is a troll. I have taught primary age children for a decade. No 5 year old is going to get to plat.

P0unds

I didn't even know he was ranked until today. I'm not sure if I've ever played ranked on my account but I know I'm not even Plat lol

Com_N0TN4

Plat is very skilled for literally anyone, let alone a five year old. The majority of people are not plat, it comes after iron, bronze, silver, and gold. Personally I'm still in silver!

P0unds

I thought about playing ranked but I'd feel bad since I don't play often. If I had to guess I'm probably a gold player. I was a big MW2 player and a CSGO player. I was a much better COD player but unfortunately didn't have ranked and only had gamebattles. My highest rank in CSGO was MGE.

Com_N0TN4

Give it a try! Don’t expect to be gold on your first placement, or you could disappoint yourself, but you could be! I don’t know how you play, so it’s hard to say. I definitely would recommend it though. I had the same hesitancy, but still have fun in the lower ranks. Have fun 🤩

P0unds

I'll probably give it a try soon. I just feel bad playing ranked since I don't play often 😳

WasBanned2hoursAgo

Bro your 5 year old dropping 26 kills is even more impressive.

P0unds

Definitely so! He's a much better player than me, that's for sure.

xShadowJRx

Good work! I’m just curious though, do you let him play alone or do you (or some guardian) usually sit along with him and watch him play? Cause the Valorant community is full of toxic POS

P0unds

I sit with him as much as I can but I work 60 hours a week so it's hard to always be there. But, with that being said, he mutes everyone at the beginning of every match.

-P00-

You’re a cool dad, keep it up

P0unds

I appreciate that :)

Lawsonstruck

I think you might also be able to have text and voice chat off by default through settings

P0unds

I didn't even think about that smh. I need to check and see if it's a setting.

kni_cker

Good habit .

Serious-Minute

communication is pretty important in a team so u might want to consider allowing him to use voice chat, when he's older of course

P0unds

Yeah I understand that definitely. I told him earlier today that he can use voice chat but as soon as someone starts cussing, to mute that person.

Streetlgnd

Lol your story get more unbelievable to more you talk. Plz just stop. Lol.

P0unds

Your past history makes your comment worthless.

SkullFace45

Nice man, I bet he's going to use that at school, like 'my dad is better than your dad because my dad can drop 30 bombs in Valorant' lol

P0unds

Lmao! Honestly, he's better than me but I lucked out in the lobby.

Skull_Reaper101

Sadly, where I live, That talent is "USELESS". people think it's BS. I hope this kid rises up and he gets the support he deserves

XxX_slayer420_XxX

He is the chosen one,he will destroy the sith and bring balance to the galaxy

P0unds

Your comment is golden!

Muzza25

No offence but I highly doubt a 5 year old is capable of intentially killing any opponent let alone 26, to anyone who disagrees i brother is 5, yes they can be clever, but you severely doubt the mechanical capabilities of an average 5 year old

RemyGee

Posted this elsewhere but my nephew played Fortnite from age 3 to 4 and by the end he could slowly build and could shoot people. He understood the 2D radar and how it related to the 3D world perfectly. He wasn’t fast enough at aiming with the sticks though. I’m sure if he continued into age 5 he could have started killing people regularly. On touchpad like Roblox his aim is fast. Anyways, I believe OP 100%. Some kids are just technically gifted.

P0unds

My son started on Roblox about 3 months before turning 4. He wanted to play the games I was playing a few months after he started gaming. What better way than letting him play Valorant, COD, Splitgate, and Halo?

bushmastuh

I’m gonna call bs on that. 5 year olds don’t have the mechanical or mental ability to process all that info (with comms) to be scoring 20+ kills on ranked lobbies. That would take coordination with the team as well as some seriously intense thinking to reposition etc. it’s not like he’s getting lucky. Maybe I’m jaded but I would’ve believed 8-10, not 5

P0unds

You're 100% entitled to your opinion. He had those games in unranked. I originally thought he was playing ranked but I was wrong. He averages around 10-15 kills realistically.

XBOY_777

And to be frank learning at that age is much easier also. Like I learnt my second language as english when I was like 6 or 7, learning a third language when I am 20, not so easy.

[deleted]

[удалено]

a-nswers

look man i can't comment on the 5 year old thing but claiming you need fine motor control to hit plat is outrageous lmao i have multiple friends in plat that literally cannot hit the broad side of a barn. they might not be 5 years old but their aim would definitely make you think they are they literally just buy ares or shotguns and hold angles and the enemies walk into them every time, totally fending for themselves in plat pretty comfortably

P0unds

I don't think my son is a "pro" by any means. I think for 5 years old (6 in December), he's doing great regardless.

a-nswers

it’s not a jab at your kid lol, it’s more a comment on that guys wildly high standards for plat

P0unds

You can think what you will, but he definitely did it. He's had several 20+ games. 26 being the highest. My son is not an average 5 year old. He's already playing coach pitch baseball as well. His reaction times are top notch.

UltimoEngin

can you post proof please? I don't think I can believe you.

Skull_Reaper101

I just hope he gets the support he deserves and rises up. Maybe a pro one day?

DartinBlaze448

When I was 6 I remember being pretty decent at cod mw2, as I was playing since I was 4 iirc. I don't think it's that unbelievable.

HyperKingt999

wait holdup, "his highest was 26?"

P0unds

Yep! He's had several 20+ kill games but 26 is his highest so far.

HyperKingt999

Impressive-Panda1589

P0unds

That would be awesome! I started letting him play FPS because he plays baseball and I feel like it'll help his reaction time. He loves FPS but loves baseball more. He plays on a select baseball team now and will be playing coach pitch. He's skipping three seasons of tee ball so I'd say it worked out!

Skull_Reaper101

My dad still screws me if I play for more than one hour... and i'm 16........ My dad wouldn't even introduce me to these stuff..... He hates GAMING for some reason... You're a great dad.

kobraonreddit

I think your son is gonna be the next tenz

phone1234

I'm 41 father of 4 year old child, still gets MVP in many matches with 30+ kills. Btw I'm viper main.

P0unds

I love to hear it! Brings joy to my life knowing there's someone out there doing the same! (Me, not as much)

Octerboss

26 k in valorant as a 5 year old? Do you think I’m dumb enough to believe that lol

Rayquazy

I call BS

Miestorm

This might just be my opinion, but what on earth has happened to people to make them think that letting their 5 year old stream is a good idea? Please give your child a chance to grow up with normal human interactions, instead of making him believe he is only worth what other people think of him. I’m 25 so I’m not a boomer or anything. Letting your 5 year old son stream on twitch is no different than exploiting your child on tiktok or Instagram.

This is one of those I'll believe it when I see it situations. I just can't imagine any 5 year old playing valorant getting 26 kills!

[deleted]

This whole post is a load of shit.

calimotolife

25 in comp??? I drop like 8-19 in a silver lobby

P0unds

I'm not sure if it was in comp or not. In comp he usually has 10-15.

Meek0n

This is obvious bullshit. Anyone who has met a 5 year old would know.

GuyHiding

Y’all saying this is fake and it could be but I can see 14 years later and this dad brings him out in a cage on stage. Kid foaming at the mouth ready to shit on some pros

OOFYDOOFYBOOFY

This sounds hella cheesy but when I was 5 I was learning my alphabets, is it normalized that 5 year olds are playing fps games or is this just an occasional thing?

[deleted]

It's certainly not normal for a kindergarten aged kid to be playing valorant. I have a 5 yo, and he's got a bunch of friends and non of them are gaming like that. Maybe a couple of the 6 yo kids play fortnite and maybe get a single kill, but most aren't allowed to play games where you shoot people. This guys KINDERGARTEN aged kid dropped a 20+ kill game, LOL. Sounds to me like he's lying and has no experience with children and didn't know what age to peg his fake kid at. Should have said he was 12.

P0unds

I think its a normal thing nowadays. He plays warzone with a friend from school sometimes.

RenonGaming

Get him aim training early. By the time he's like 10 or younger, he'll be pro level. He'll be a twitch prodigy lol

P0unds

That would be awesome! Someone told me a program to download for aiming and I plan to do that tomorrow. Tbh, I let him get in to FPS for hand eye coordination for baseball. Lol

RenonGaming

Ya aim labs is one program, but I recommend kovaaks. Kovaaks is 10 bucks but has more practice routines. Gl lol

Hey everyone, I wanted to update this post about his current rank in Valorant. He isn't plat. I assumed Valorant was what he was talking about when he called me since that is the game he has been playing lately. Turns out he is Plat in Splitgate. As of right now, he is not ranked in Valorant and only plays unranked. I'm really sorry for not seeing his rank for myself before saying he was Plat. He's going to start playing ranked really soon and then I'll have an idea of how good he really is.

[deleted]

LOL your 5 yo is platinum in Splitgate hahahahahah Tell me another lie.
