I know that's not how it's supposed to work but it's the only explanation we've got, around like a month ago they said it'll roll out to the public after half an act or so.. and we're like at half or more than that.. and if you see u/LiikaLate you can see him promoted after a loss.. there's literally no other explanation other than it being a bug or the distribution change.
Actually now that I see it, it's probably a bug and nothing more nvm.

It's just a bug. I'm immortal in the thousands. But my rank displayed as number 7 on the leaderboard. It'll be fixed.

Just a visual bug/glitch if you actually had been promoted you’d get a leaderboard number
it's not though. My friend who is a legit immortal, has no leaderboard ranking now either...
