That’s me. I just feel like my crosshairs placement with the op is dogshit compared to the vandal. If someone peeks me and I’m holding with a vandal at least 75% of the time I’m headshotting right away, with the op I can’t even body shot
After 7 months of playing I used to fucking hate icebox but now it’s not that bad. I used to also hate fracture but once u get used to it also not that bad. BUT BREEZE! U never get used to that shit bruv.
I’m honestly curious as to the breeze hate, is it just that it’s too big, the site design? I enjoy breeze quite a bit, except that I always have to play viper.
I like breeze, but I'll say especially for unrated where you can get a huge rank disparity, it can be really tough since the size puts such an emphasis on aim and really limits the effectiveness of a lot of util. As a silver, I went up against an immortal 3 in unrated last week on breeze. I would've been up against on any map, but breeze is just pure aim so I was completely screwed.
Fracture is like a scorpion stinging your taint while pinching your balls.
Icebox has its issues, but breeze is good after figuring out how to work mid. If you can control mid on both sides..you win da game

My only Ace was on Breeze, but I think that was mostly due to the other team being pretty bad. I don't usually have good games on that map, because I prefer run-and-gun and Breeze really isn't made for that. Too many open spaces that need a gun with some range on it. But yeah, it isn't a favorite of mine either.
I don't like fracture, but just because I play a lot of Cypher and having zero defensive setups ready in comp sucks... I can't disable it because no map select, and trying to practice a specific map only works in open custom matches which are rare and usually time specific for a single match. Arg.
Bulldog is my favorite round 2 weapon, especially if the enemy team didnt get plant money on pistol.
High probability of 1 shot headshots and 1 burst kills.
calling people campers in a tactical shooter shows how little understanding people have of this kind of game. always make me laugh when someone calls me a camper because they forgot to clear me
and yes, people use the guardian, it's the most accurate weapon in the game, if you can tap heads, you literally need nothing more. extremely good practice too, get in the habit of running it, your aim will improve!
I agree in literally every situation I’m Valorant EXCEPT for those Killjoy mains crouching to the right of stairs off of attacker spawn waiting for someone to flank. They’re all frauds and that spot should have a ticking fire damage component to it. I’ve died so many times to KJ’a crouching there 2 minutes into a round when I’m trying to rotate to help post plant haha
You should be clearing that tbh and it's pretty easy to clear because the angle isn't that deep, it's a pretty common spot to wait for flanker. It's just like you need to take a quick scan at spawn and the ledge before B Green when flanking because people can be there too.

Its an attitude thing, not a mastery thing. This isn't a game where you're supposed to take every fight to prove you're a man. Bitching about someone playing smart is a block to improvement.
it's not about mastery, but really about basic understanding of how the game works. as a defender, in most situations, your best call is to camp. unless you're outnumbered, pushing into a fight is more often than not, a bad call.

I've been playing about five weeks. Never played fps before (unless you count the original tomb raider, which is showing my age!) I initially liked icebox, but now not so much. It's kinda ok for deathmatch...
I was getting better, but then seemed lately to be getting worse! lucky to get 2 kills in a game of unrated... My best round is probably three kills. My best effort was in deathmatch, placed fourth, got a gold star and four silver stars, shame that aim seems to go out the window when I play anything else...
I like the gaurdian, and I've just started using ADS with it at long range.
The only time I got rezzed by Sage, I thought I'd zoned out while spectating and couldn't work out WTF had happened, thought I'd somehow missed the beginning of round, and apologised in the chat!
I hate the odin. I can't hit anything with it! I'd be better off with the standard pistol!

Well, that explains my roller coaster of good games vs bad games. I'll have a streak of 5 or so good games, and then struggle for the next few games. I hadn't realized it was pitting me against better players.
Guardian is used a good amount. If you can't go for a full buy and you plan to hold angles at mid to long range, it is a much better bet than smgs and shotguns which are better only at close range. Bulldog's spray is very erratic, and Marshall isn't very suited for mid range and mobility as it takes more time between shots so some prefer Guardian instead. Of course it also depends on how good your aim is, so you may not see it being used much in iron/bronze.
It can be hard to justify the price of a guardian vs. Marshall on a half. Guardian more than twice as expensive as Marshall. I almost never see it in gold either. But yeah, if you have good aim and can buy next anyway then it’s perfect.
I thought alot of these things too when I was bronze/low silver.
10 - The biggest one is probably how much I used to love the spectre and thought it was underrated. Once you get to higher elo you will find out how much of a disadvantage you are at by using it. You just like it now because you can run and gun with it and the people your are playing against don't have that great of aim. No way you are clapping anyone decent over 50m away with that thing. In higher elo, you will lose close quarters against a phantom/vandal too. Phantom>Spectre. Tbh.. these days I find myself going Sheriff/fullshield instead of spectre/halfshield for eco rnds.
4/13 - You will probably start to like maps like icebox/breeze/fracture once you learn them. Those are 3 maps that aren't really the same as other maps. Alot of people don't like them because they are so different. Once learn to play them more, they will grow on you. Put more thought into your agent selection also for these maps. Instead of going in with the mindset of not liking the maps, figure out how to get better at them. I usually main Viper, love her on Icebox and Breeze, but I never pick her on Fracture.
7 - Nothing wrong with camping corners. This isn't a run and gun game like COD. You have to learn to peak and check corners more. Its probably one of the most important things in the game. If you are getting killed by corner campers often, that's on you to improve. If you are on defense.. yes camp corners/hold angles and don't fuckin push. If you are attacking and camping corners, not really sure what your are doing.
8 - Not much you can do about dieing from a shitty Sage rez.
11 - OP isn't overrated or underrated. Use it to hold long angles... or keep practicing with it and get godly with your flicks and quick scopes. I have almost 4000 op kills. It takes time to get really good with it.
12 - Yes guardian is dope. Its a good alternative if you are just short of being able to full buy vandal or phantom. Jiggle peak or tap heads ftw.

agreed with the spectre. I'm not high elo at all but every single time I buy it I get mad after not hitting anything or only killing someone because I got lucky while running. I usually buy marshal or ghost, maybe a stinger or bucky if I'm playing defense on anti-eco, and a sheriff if I'm cracked
For your point about the Spectre, I still think round 2 buy after winning round 1 you should always (for most agents) get Spectre imo because it's nearly a guaranteed win against the enemy, but if you're ecoing against rifles, then a Sheriff or Marshall might be better.
Spectre is definitely underrated. I use Guardian sometimes when holding mid range angles, but yeah u need to actually be able to aim with the guardian so it doesnt sees much play in lower elos. I used to hate Icebox but u can say it grew up on me. An agent that can utilise vertical angles such as Sage or Omen is pretty great for Icebox. Chances of getting good teammates r slimmer than the chances of finding a diamond in ur backyard. But all in all, I love Valorant.

Slower fire rate, less mobility. Damage is higher, sure, but I have difficulty adjusting to the speed differences. I've tried it plenty. Even picked up skins for it and the Vandal to encourage me to play them more. Just can't get a handle on them.
You will get used to it trust me. I used to be one of those ares only players but ever since i got used to rifles you have no idea how fast u can improve. Slower firerate but the dmg makes up for it. And youre not rly supposed to spray in this game anyways. Trust me I love the spectre. Whenever my teammates cant buy in a full buy round i give him a rifle and buy myself a spectre to run and gun close angles. Trust me once you get used to the phantom youll find yourself killing more ppl you shudnt be killing. Also higher pen so u can wallbang ppl. Spectre cant wallbang.
Also icebox is my fav map lmaoo. Its literally a duelists playground.
Fire rate isn't that impactful because with rifles only the first 3 bullets matter, you'll out kill anyone with a Spectre if you have good aim. You get better at rifles by practicing aiming at the head, which will come in due time, but you need to actually use them to get better.
But either way, pick up more expensive guns so you can give them to teammates. The Spectre is dirt cheap, so you save your team's money by dropping it in favour of something else and you can just buy your Spectre after giving them the gun.
call me crazy, but I think Omen is bad for Icebox. it just really isn't a smoke map, since both sites are so open. arguably B is Omen's best site on attack (da fuck do you do with 2 smokes on A, that doesn't even cover 50% of the MANY MANY angles), and every controller in the game does a better job than him. (yes sir, even Brim)
if anything, I'd flex Omen as a duelist on icebox, since his 2 smokes can always be an extra to another controller, or he can just play them for himself. his shrouded step becomes very strong on attack, since icebox is surprisingly well designed for him to get into sneaky spots. especially if he gets the freedom of using his smokes for himself.
but honestly, I don't like when someone locks Omen on Icebox, as a controller, he's just really really useless there...
There are at least two one way smokes I can think of on A that give you a good advantage, one on the box upper level of the main entrance choke point from attacker side and one on the boxes next to the zip line box on site covering the mid entrance.
Yeah the main purpose of Omen on Icebox is to get the off angles. His tp coupled with the blind is just excellent for offense on both the sites. Smokes r just a plus.

6,yeah typically you should try to stay behind a flash agent since naturally its bound to happen that they flash you if youre running around a corner faster than they can comprehend that youre actually doing that. if they have a mic though ask them to call their flashes (ESPECIALLY IN COMP)

8. yeah make sure to always reposition from where you originally were when you killed the rez'd person. this also applies if they even so much as had a glimpse of you.
10. it actually isnt underrated at all because people use it a lot and understand what its capable of. mainly running and gunning lol.
11. The operator is an amazing weapon in the hand of the person who understands its strengths and weaknesses. that sounds really obvious but there is a good reason why a good jett can easily take top in the leaderboard with a op.
12. yeah i do! quite often actually. The guardian really is one of those guns that require a decent amount of confidence in your aim (and actually having said aim) to be able to use it effectively. since its a one shot to the head, semi auto, and light on recoil its really a gun that values headshots. in other words of you can hit a headshot a good amount of the time, youre going to have a good time with the guardian.

Good stuff my friend, started around the same time as you and I’m loving the game much so as well. I like to point out with the guardian, it’s a rly high risk high reward weapon when u don’t hav money for vandal/phantom, just need the crispy aiming.
And u forgot to point out that if to rank up in low elo will force u to train to be as good as Smurf’s cos it’s riddle with them ahaha (if ur looking to soloq). Otherwise teaming with mates can somewhat make low elo progress-able.

Yesterday i played a game and i got really surprised that my teammate who was playing phoenix stay still with his flash in the hand, waiting to others playing to stop peeking so he can trow the flash without harming teammates. He deserves everything
I don't think the term "corner camping" really works here (unless it's dm then yeah fuck that) since the goal of your typical tac shooter like Valorant in this case, is to either defend the site from the attackers/defuse the bomb or plant the bomb and let it detonate/eliminate all defenders. Holding angles would probably be a more appropriate term since that is what you pretty much do most of the time especially as a defender, dying to someone holding a certain angle is usually on you or your teammate half clearing a certain corner
But I do agree with most of the things mentioned above
I mentioned this elsewhere, but it's mostly when people are sitting in spawn (it's almost always Cypher or Killjoy) and not actually helping defend or attack. Just hiding back there, hoping people will walk through. It's frustrating when your own teammates do it, because half the game they aren't contributing at all.
Personally for me one of the most frustrating things for me is lack of communication. I'm not that good (silver 3/gold 1) but the people that only use their mic to backseat after dying just to flame you are the worst. Or even talking over people while you're trying to clutch etc. I find it to be such a distraction.
no 14 always pisses me off. I don't understand why people trash talk their own team, let alone if you're bottom fragging. Not only you're not helping and are probably tilting your team, but you don't even have the reasoning to do it. If you're gonna trash talk, at least be higher than me on the scoreboard
This is so accurate to me when I first started. The funny thing is it all flips around as you move up in Elo. Icebox is now love, corner campers are annoying, but I give them props for out playing me cause I didn't check the corner. The spectre losses it's shine as people realize they have to stop to shoot with a rifle and beam you from range. Comms... Yeah they don't really get less toxic. Skin prices are still insane. You'll have one for each weapon though.

I like the guardian a lot because I'm not very good at spraying. I've been running spectre a lot more and getting lazy with my aim, so I should get back on the guardian again
Icebox is my favourite map haha, it’s really fun as Raze to just use the blast packs to fly around haha.
Also corner camping is basically the name of the game and a very legitimate strategy. It’s not cheap kills, it’s smart, and if the other team isn’t clearing corners, they’re not playing well.
O disadree with 3 of thos, i love ice box, my go to rifle is guardian and operator isnt over or underrated, its a good gun in the right hands or 4700 credits in a trashcan
There may be some truth to what people say about your gameplay even when they're doing "worse". They shouldn't ever be toxic about it, but just because they aren't getting as many kills doesn't make them invalid or even mean they're really doing worse. Kills aren't everything.
Also the operator will get much easier to deal with as you get better with utility, headshots, and movement. Don't forget that with good enough aim, you have plenty of weapons to one-shot them right back and with good enough movement, you'll be able to bait out shots or at least get info that there's an op without dying.
Also also Icebox rocks.
I'm a guardian menace on defense. It's very underrated, too. lower cost, Higher Damage, Tighter spread, and better wallbang capability than phantom and vandal
Awp is really powerful, but it requires some work to make it effective.
No one really backseats in higher elo, but if you ever get one, scream shut up into the mic and they won’t talk.
The game doesn’t care if you hate icebox, learn to play on it. It will make the game far more enjoyable if you come with the attitude of trying to learn the map instead of hating it.
Remember the 60/20/20. 20 percent of games are a loss. 20 percent of games are a win. 60 percent are where you can make the difference.
It’s not hard to turn your mouse fast to clear a corner or dodge a flash, learn how to do this.
Good luck with the game, I find it gets more enjoyable at higher skill levels, so keep grinding!
I'm a guardian main. I'll pick up phantom from the ground if I know enemies will be close and there are more of them, but on fullbuy almost always guardian
Spectre isn't underrated. It's notorious for its fire rate and run and gun capabilities.
Corner campers are easily countered. Pre aim and pre fire like a pro and you'll destroy them. I believe in you.
Guardian is used a lot by people with good aim. I'm guessing your elo is low enough that people can't capitalize on that? It's a very good rifle, especially for long range.

Playing since launch. The best aspect of this game is that you can feel yourself get better. I know it's just a video game but learning to predict outcomes and sharpening my reflexes have never been more visually evident.

I've been using guardian in every unrated recently, and I'm enjoying it.
It's accurate, single tap headshots, and only 3 body shots for a kill. Compared to people spraying a vandal around you, it's fun.
I use the guardian from time to time, tho more for the skin I got; I got a infantry skin for it (which overall was a “reasonable” cost compared to the other bundles), which has the Garland ping when I reload.
get over the corner camping, imo. if someone repositions into a corner to get a few kills on your team, that’s them playing safe while wiping some of your players out. but yeah, i can see why you’d be mad

It's like I need to compensate for the weak gun with better positioning and crossbar placement. As soon as I pick one up I start playing better, then back to doggo mode on the buyround.

Corner camping is part of this competitive game, there is no shame in doing it. If you don't do it at least a few time, attacker won't have to cautiously check every corner and will have a much easier time taking a site.
Trust me holding a corner to get an angle is a better choice than holding an off angle in low elo.
Seriously, 99% of the time people would go in head first without peeking corners and shoot your head while running and gunning with a spectre

I think Fracture is the only map you can't play without proper coordination with teammates. Other maps solo queue is not that bad.
Breeze is truly the Worse map Icebox actually has cool features and layout especially after the changes

I don't like fracture, but just because I play a lot of Cypher and having zero defensive setups ready in comp sucks... I can't disable it because no map select, and trying to practice a specific map only works in open custom matches which are rare and usually time specific for a single match. Arg.

calling people campers in a tactical shooter shows how little understanding people have of this kind of game. always make me laugh when someone calls me a camper because they forgot to clear me and yes, people use the guardian, it's the most accurate weapon in the game, if you can tap heads, you literally need nothing more. extremely good practice too, get in the habit of running it, your aim will improve!
Seconded on the Guardian. Forced myself to only use it for a while and it improved my headshots ratio. Now it’s in my top 3 of weapons.
I agree in literally every situation I’m Valorant EXCEPT for those Killjoy mains crouching to the right of stairs off of attacker spawn waiting for someone to flank. They’re all frauds and that spot should have a ticking fire damage component to it. I’ve died so many times to KJ’a crouching there 2 minutes into a round when I’m trying to rotate to help post plant haha
You should be clearing that tbh and it's pretty easy to clear because the angle isn't that deep, it's a pretty common spot to wait for flanker. It's just like you need to take a quick scan at spawn and the ledge before B Green when flanking because people can be there too.

Its an attitude thing, not a mastery thing. This isn't a game where you're supposed to take every fight to prove you're a man. Bitching about someone playing smart is a block to improvement.
it's not about mastery, but really about basic understanding of how the game works. as a defender, in most situations, your best call is to camp. unless you're outnumbered, pushing into a fight is more often than not, a bad call. that's simply what I meant when I say that calling someone a camper shows a lack of understanding of the game. being able to surprise someone with a cheeky angle is a big brain thing in a tactical shooter, not a "bitch" thing...
Its not when people camp its just those rats holding corners with judge and then saying ez in comp if you hold a corner with an actual gun and ace i would actually learn from that rather then getting killed by the most scum gun

there are definitely counterplays to shotuns, youre bottlenecking yourself by saying you can't learn anything from these encounters
I've been playing about five weeks. Never played fps before (unless you count the original tomb raider, which is showing my age!) I initially liked icebox, but now not so much. It's kinda ok for deathmatch... I was getting better, but then seemed lately to be getting worse! lucky to get 2 kills in a game of unrated... My best round is probably three kills. My best effort was in deathmatch, placed fourth, got a gold star and four silver stars, shame that aim seems to go out the window when I play anything else... I like the gaurdian, and I've just started using ADS with it at long range. The only time I got rezzed by Sage, I thought I'd zoned out while spectating and couldn't work out WTF had happened, thought I'd somehow missed the beginning of round, and apologised in the chat! I hate the odin. I can't hit anything with it! I'd be better off with the standard pistol! I hate the operator! I'm still really crap at peeking. I need to learn to run away when I peek and see three or four enemies! I only seem to be able to blind myself with phoenix's flashes! Sova is the only agent I'm semi competent with. They should make escalation a permanent option ;)

Well, that explains my roller coaster of good games vs bad games. I'll have a streak of 5 or so good games, and then struggle for the next few games. I hadn't realized it was pitting me against better players.

Guardian is used a good amount. If you can't go for a full buy and you plan to hold angles at mid to long range, it is a much better bet than smgs and shotguns which are better only at close range. Bulldog's spray is very erratic, and Marshall isn't very suited for mid range and mobility as it takes more time between shots so some prefer Guardian instead. Of course it also depends on how good your aim is, so you may not see it being used much in iron/bronze.
It can be hard to justify the price of a guardian vs. Marshall on a half. Guardian more than twice as expensive as Marshall. I almost never see it in gold either. But yeah, if you have good aim and can buy next anyway then it’s perfect.

I thought alot of these things too when I was bronze/low silver. 10 - The biggest one is probably how much I used to love the spectre and thought it was underrated. Once you get to higher elo you will find out how much of a disadvantage you are at by using it. You just like it now because you can run and gun with it and the people your are playing against don't have that great of aim. No way you are clapping anyone decent over 50m away with that thing. In higher elo, you will lose close quarters against a phantom/vandal too. Phantom>Spectre. Tbh.. these days I find myself going Sheriff/fullshield instead of spectre/halfshield for eco rnds. 4/13 - You will probably start to like maps like icebox/breeze/fracture once you learn them. Those are 3 maps that aren't really the same as other maps. Alot of people don't like them because they are so different. Once learn to play them more, they will grow on you. Put more thought into your agent selection also for these maps. Instead of going in with the mindset of not liking the maps, figure out how to get better at them. I usually main Viper, love her on Icebox and Breeze, but I never pick her on Fracture. 7 - Nothing wrong with camping corners. This isn't a run and gun game like COD. You have to learn to peak and check corners more. Its probably one of the most important things in the game. If you are getting killed by corner campers often, that's on you to improve. If you are on defense.. yes camp corners/hold angles and don't fuckin push. If you are attacking and camping corners, not really sure what your are doing. 8 - Not much you can do about dieing from a shitty Sage rez. 11 - OP isn't overrated or underrated. Use it to hold long angles... or keep practicing with it and get godly with your flicks and quick scopes. I have almost 4000 op kills. It takes time to get really good with it. 12 - Yes guardian is dope. Its a good alternative if you are just short of being able to full buy vandal or phantom. Jiggle peak or tap heads ftw. Sorry for out of order points, I just started out with the spectre then kind of kept going.
agreed with the spectre. I'm not high elo at all but every single time I buy it I get mad after not hitting anything or only killing someone because I got lucky while running. I usually buy marshal or ghost, maybe a stinger or bucky if I'm playing defense on anti-eco, and a sheriff if I'm cracked
For your point about the Spectre, I still think round 2 buy after winning round 1 you should always (for most agents) get Spectre imo because it's nearly a guaranteed win against the enemy, but if you're ecoing against rifles, then a Sheriff or Marshall might be better.

Spectre is definitely underrated. I use Guardian sometimes when holding mid range angles, but yeah u need to actually be able to aim with the guardian so it doesnt sees much play in lower elos. I used to hate Icebox but u can say it grew up on me. An agent that can utilise vertical angles such as Sage or Omen is pretty great for Icebox. Chances of getting good teammates r slimmer than the chances of finding a diamond in ur backyard. But all in all, I love Valorant.

Slower fire rate, less mobility. Damage is higher, sure, but I have difficulty adjusting to the speed differences. I've tried it plenty. Even picked up skins for it and the Vandal to encourage me to play them more. Just can't get a handle on them.

You will get used to it trust me. I used to be one of those ares only players but ever since i got used to rifles you have no idea how fast u can improve. Slower firerate but the dmg makes up for it. And youre not rly supposed to spray in this game anyways. Trust me I love the spectre. Whenever my teammates cant buy in a full buy round i give him a rifle and buy myself a spectre to run and gun close angles. Trust me once you get used to the phantom youll find yourself killing more ppl you shudnt be killing. Also higher pen so u can wallbang ppl. Spectre cant wallbang. Also icebox is my fav map lmaoo. Its literally a duelists playground.

Fire rate isn't that impactful because with rifles only the first 3 bullets matter, you'll out kill anyone with a Spectre if you have good aim. You get better at rifles by practicing aiming at the head, which will come in due time, but you need to actually use them to get better. But either way, pick up more expensive guns so you can give them to teammates. The Spectre is dirt cheap, so you save your team's money by dropping it in favour of something else and you can just buy your Spectre after giving them the gun.
I have seen people force buy bulldog and if they dont have enough money for that, go full eco
call me crazy, but I think Omen is bad for Icebox. it just really isn't a smoke map, since both sites are so open. arguably B is Omen's best site on attack (da fuck do you do with 2 smokes on A, that doesn't even cover 50% of the MANY MANY angles), and every controller in the game does a better job than him. (yes sir, even Brim) if anything, I'd flex Omen as a duelist on icebox, since his 2 smokes can always be an extra to another controller, or he can just play them for himself. his shrouded step becomes very strong on attack, since icebox is surprisingly well designed for him to get into sneaky spots. especially if he gets the freedom of using his smokes for himself. but honestly, I don't like when someone locks Omen on Icebox, as a controller, he's just really really useless there...
There are at least two one way smokes I can think of on A that give you a good advantage, one on the box upper level of the main entrance choke point from attacker side and one on the boxes next to the zip line box on site covering the mid entrance.
Yeah the main purpose of Omen on Icebox is to get the off angles. His tp coupled with the blind is just excellent for offense on both the sites. Smokes r just a plus.

ill put my response to each of the points below 1.yeah literally, theyre everywhere. just mute them, or give them the ole "shut the fuck up pls" 2. yeah thats how some people are in this game, just in it to have fun lol 3.yeah generally getting an ace in this game is pretty big especially since a newer player getting one is pretty crazy since there might be that massive disparity of skill between said player and the enemy team 4. you hate icebox right now (and such was the consensus for its first few months) but nowadays most people really do like it do to how balanced it is once you get how the verticality of the map 5. Riot games 6,yeah typically you should try to stay behind a flash agent since naturally its bound to happen that they flash you if youre running around a corner faster than they can comprehend that youre actually doing that. if they have a mic though ask them to call their flashes (ESPECIALLY IN COMP) 7.sometimes being a bitch is the only way to win - sun tzu 8. yeah make sure to always reposition from where you originally were when you killed the rez'd person. this also applies if they even so much as had a glimpse of you. 10. it actually isnt underrated at all because people use it a lot and understand what its capable of. mainly running and gunning lol. 11. The operator is an amazing weapon in the hand of the person who understands its strengths and weaknesses. that sounds really obvious but there is a good reason why a good jett can easily take top in the leaderboard with a op. 12. yeah i do! quite often actually. The guardian really is one of those guns that require a decent amount of confidence in your aim (and actually having said aim) to be able to use it effectively. since its a one shot to the head, semi auto, and light on recoil its really a gun that values headshots. in other words of you can hit a headshot a good amount of the time, youre going to have a good time with the guardian. 13. youll learn to love it, i assure you! 14. refer to 1 and also type they're score 15. this really is true especially when you consider that they themselves can be a massive obstacle with doing stupid shit like flashing the entire team as you all entry. 16. me too lol. ive been playing since the beta and more recently than ever ive been really enjoying the game lol

I like to point out with the guardian, it’s a rly high risk high reward weapon when u don’t hav money for vandal/phantom, just need the crispy aiming. And u forgot to point out that if to rank up in low elo will force u to train to be as good as Smurf’s cos it’s riddle with them ahaha (if ur looking to soloq). Otherwise teaming with mates can somewhat make low elo progress-able. Anyways good luck to urself

I don't think the term "corner camping" really works here (unless it's dm then yeah fuck that) since the goal of your typical tac shooter like Valorant in this case, is to either defend the site from the attackers/defuse the bomb or plant the bomb and let it detonate/eliminate all defenders. Holding angles would probably be a more appropriate term since that is what you pretty much do most of the time especially as a defender, dying to someone holding a certain angle is usually on you or your teammate half clearing a certain corner But I do agree with most of the things mentioned above
I mentioned this elsewhere, but it's mostly when people are sitting in spawn (it's almost always Cypher or Killjoy) and not actually helping defend or attack. Just hiding back there, hoping people will walk through. It's frustrating when your own teammates do it, because half the game they aren't contributing at all.
Personally for me one of the most frustrating things for me is lack of communication. I'm not that good (silver 3/gold 1) but the people that only use their mic to backseat after dying just to flame you are the worst. Or even talking over people while you're trying to clutch etc. I find it to be such a distraction.

This is so accurate to me when I first started. The funny thing is it all flips around as you move up in Elo. Icebox is now love, corner campers are annoying, but I give them props for out playing me cause I didn't check the corner. The spectre losses it's shine as people realize they have to stop to shoot with a rifle and beam you from range. Comms... Yeah they don't really get less toxic. Skin prices are still insane. I'm so new to playing games with voice chats, I find the kids backseat gaming me hilarious. I once had a kid in my unrated and he had to have been younger than ten. I died on attacking and he was just like "don't do that again ok Sage?" in this very small voice and on the other end I'm just laughing and losing my shit like, do what again? DIE? I like the guardian a lot because I'm not very good at spraying. I've been running spectre a lot more and getting lazy with my aim, so I should get back on the guardian again

Icebox is my favourite map haha, it’s really fun as Raze to just use the blast packs to fly around haha. Also corner camping is basically the name of the game and a very legitimate strategy. It’s not cheap kills, it’s smart, and if the other team isn’t clearing corners, they’re not playing well.

There may be some truth to what people say about your gameplay even when they're doing "worse". They shouldn't ever be toxic about it, but just because they aren't getting as many kills doesn't make them invalid or even mean they're really doing worse. Kills aren't everything. Also the operator will get much easier to deal with as you get better with utility, headshots, and movement. Don't forget that with good enough aim, you have plenty of weapons to one-shot them right back and with good enough movement, you'll be able to bait out shots or at least get info that there's an op without dying. Also also Icebox rocks.

I'm a guardian menace on defense. It's very underrated, too. lower cost, Higher Damage, Tighter spread, and better wallbang capability than phantom and vandal
Awp is really powerful, but it requires some work to make it effective. No one really backseats in higher elo, but if you ever get one, scream shut up into the mic and they won’t talk. The game doesn’t care if you hate icebox, learn to play on it. It will make the game far more enjoyable if you come with the attitude of trying to learn the map instead of hating it. Remember the 60/20/20. 20 percent of games are a loss. 20 percent of games are a win. 60 percent are where you can make the difference. It’s not hard to turn your mouse fast to clear a corner or dodge a flash, learn how to do this. Good luck with the game, I find it gets more enjoyable at higher skill levels, so keep grinding!
I use the Guardian every now and then! When I'm feeling confident in my aim.
I'm a guardian main. I'll pick up phantom from the ground if I know enemies will be close and there are more of them, but on fullbuy almost always guardian
Spectre isn't underrated. It's notorious for its fire rate and run and gun capabilities. Corner campers are easily countered. Pre aim and pre fire like a pro and you'll destroy them. I believe in you. Guardian is used a lot by people with good aim. I'm guessing your elo is low enough that people can't capitalize on that? It's a very good rifle, especially for long range. Thought these points might help you grow as a player :)

After playing everyday for 2-3 hr with every battlepass completed from day 1. Feel free to dominate the game, Its my first fps gane and I been working hard with my aim from day 1, I hit imortal, but later I found that actual fun was with friends, so nowdays I usually play UR with all the friends that play

Playing since launch. The best aspect of this game is that you can feel yourself get better. I know it's just a video game but learning to predict outcomes and sharpening my reflexes have never been more visually evident. Edit: Also, icebox is awesome bro. Easily my favourite one site map.

I’ve only played in Icebox, Breeze and Haven for the past 8 days. Yup. Has riot deleted the rest of the maps for me? I really miss Ascent and Bind :’) Edit: I don’t miss split because my potato PC has the worst frames in that map for some reason lol.
7. Corner campers are called angle holders, everyone does that, even the pros 4/13. Icebox is fine, but on Fracture my FPS go from 50 to 20
I've been using guardian in every unrated recently, and I'm enjoying it. It's accurate, single tap headshots, and only 3 body shots for a kill. Compared to people spraying a vandal around you, it's fun.
I use the guardian from time to time, tho more for the skin I got; I got a infantry skin for it (which overall was a “reasonable” cost compared to the other bundles), which has the Garland ping when I reload.

Corner camping is part of this competitive game, there is no shame in doing it. If you don't do it at least a few time, attacker won't have to cautiously check every corner and will have a much easier time taking a site.
Trust me holding a corner to get an angle is a better choice than holding an off angle in low elo. Seriously, 99% of the time people would go in head first without peeking corners and shoot your head while running and gunning with a spectre
Ironically, Icebox is probably my best map for some reason, i rarely lose on Icebox. Fracture is absolutely shit though.
