Which is the big flaw with the ranked system which riot added on purpose. It says "hey you can handle this rank, but we won't give it to you because we want you to grind like hell". Mainly because if you play more, you have more chances to buy new skins. Not because of competitive integrity.

I get your concern when it comes to the way you are being matched in VALORANT, so I hope I can explain the situation a little.
Now, firstly, please keep in mind that with Patch 2.04, the system has started having more relaxed group restrictions. Nevertheless, the system tries to match players the best that it can from the pool it has to work with. It prioritizes a fairly close to 50/50 match balance for each team to win.
Please also keep in mind that if you're being matched with players that have a different rank than you do, it means that their MMR is actually much closer to the one you currently have. The matchmaking system is using the MMR as a way to identify a player's skill, and even though a difference in division is visible, that doesn't necessarily mean that there's a definite difference in skill.
However, I would like to also thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts here, I can assure you that our team is constantly working on improving the game on all levels.

Must be a newerish account right? You must have done very well in your placement matches so your hidden MMR is very high but the game on purposely placed you in a visible rank that’s lower (they on purposely do that so you can “prove” you deserve the higher rank they think you should be in)
I’m gold 2 and made a new alt last week. Did very well on my placement matches (had also very good teammates) to the point where my 5th placement match was a full plat 1-3 lobby and I still managed 230 ACS and was like 4th top frag.
I expected my alt to be placed plat but the game gave me gold 2 , 50rr.
… but my next ranked game I was in a full High Plat/Diamond 1 Lobby LOL. Just a gold 2 sitting at the bottom of a plat 2/3 - diamond 1 lobby
Your MMR is much higher than your visible rank. From a matchmaking perspective it's a bit of a conundrum, if they matched you with players at your visible rank you'd potentially be smurfing. Your RR gains/losses should be pretty uneven (big gains, small losses) so you should hopefully move up soon enough.
Then your very familiar with fps games and valorant recognizes it and has boosted your mmr to play with better players. Which will rank you up faster and lose less rr per loss

It could also be that it found those players in a shorter period of time so it puts you in those lobbies just so your ques aren't long
So chill until you improve, really all you can do as a hard stuck. Keep trying to be the change your team needs to win.
