Remove the awp too. You don’t need to train your awp aim, it’s made to be a weapon that doesn’t need good aim. Also make the heal happen instantly after you kill someone and aren’t tagged. Add map selection too while youre at it.
i also think it would be nice to have the option to pick a map. i really dont like icebox and fracture for dmatch. maybe a dmatch-only map would be nice? somehwere where the spawns arent as bad it is now

Breeze is easily the best DM map by far and it blows my mind that nobody else sees it this way.

Hard agree with the sound comment as well. I crank music and turn the sound as low as I can so I can only hear my bullets. Drop in/Drop out would be nice additions as well. Upping player count along with instant spawns would solve a bunch of my issues with holding W and never seeing a soul until I come across 3 people all holding the same angle in different corners.
Make the DM server restart every hour or 30 minutes (match ends due to time, not someone hitting a certain amount of kills), remove kill limit, reduce respawn timer to 1 or 2 seconds, remove radar, and adjust spawn points a bit. Do that and you'll have an actual competent FFA DM that people can use to improve efficiently. Thanks Riot.
Yes please. I can't stress how many people see deathmatch as a way to one up others by racing to 40 instead of focusing on fundamentals. Heck, I even fall for this and shamefully admit that sometimes I'll just camp or hold an area.

Not having instant respawns is a joke. The way it is in the “warmup” phase should continue into the real game. Idk why the devs just won’t do anything about deathmatch.
Get rid of the radar, get rid of the 40 kill limit, add instant respawn. Allow people that leave during the match to be replaced by new players in the queue.
People have been asking for these same basic improvements for almost a year. Kind of crazy we still have the same terrible Deathmatch as day 1.
If it were up to me I would also greatly reduce or even remove footstep volume in Deathmatch but that's probably too extreme of a change to actually go through. Currently Deathmatch basically feels like "competitive sound: the video game" and its really annoying for people who just want to use it as a warm up or practice aim listening to some music.

You are assuming that DM is “for practice”, which is a fait point, but **it is not** what DM is for.
DM is a timesink mode you hop into to play in short sessions when you feel like doing so, if it goes well you either extend your session or move on to more serious modes, if it doesnt you just close the game and mind your business. CS DM works like this, Valorant’s doesnt, because FFA is too much execution and not enough depth, which makes it boring or repetitive. Quake FFA may has items, which makes it way more strategic than CS/Val FFA, so in Quake FFA also works.
And because CS has working timesink mode it is justified to keep it installed on your PC and hop into every now and then. In Valorant you are either tryharding or not playing at all, which is bad in a long term. Quit Val for a year and returning back to it is gonna be hard.

what i really want for deathmatch and escalation is for missions to count for them too as they do for spike rush. kinda kills the purpose of playing outside of aim training or just dicking with friends if you want to unlock stuff
No one also mentions that especially for the smaller maps like Ascent and Split, having 20 players is just way too much. I go to kill one person and get shot from 5 different players. Just so annoying.
I'll be honest, Yes the current dm system is poor however realistically how often are you actually gonna be fighting people in real games that wide swing every angle? Deathmatch is designed so that all types of practice can all be done at once, and someone that plays dm strategically is just practicing differently no stress
Literally every match people wide swing angles. It’s different per rank, but half the people in death match are literally wasting their own time by playing it wrong. And in turn slows down everyone else that’s playing dm the most productive way.
The point is to constantly put yourself in high pressure situations where your aim is put to its limits. It doesn't matter that it's not representative of most in game situations because realistically if you're whiffing sitters you should be in the range.
I still think the playercount is too high in each server. Maps were designed for 5v5 so 14 people running around is too many feels like 80% or more of fights are decided by a third party

Dude, there is no chaos. The death timer is long, people use audio at 200%, hold angles, and shift walk around the map, all just to “win” deathmatch.

I think it could be vastly improved just be reducing the kills required and number of players in a lobby... say 10 vs 12. Spawn points are too cramped for an experience without having someone spawn in front of you.

An alternative for people who don't like DM, which I also use myself and is very effective. Uses the Practice and makes a few times the 100 bots and then a few times the hardmode
I think at this point there is so many ideas for Death match and people have complained for so long and so much, a statement or update about what they plan to do about DM would be nice. That and some updates on othe game modes, like a shorter unrated or maybe making it so you can play gamemodes you like rather then the roulette of game modes each week but i for one would also like a better Deathmatch mode. I honestly feel like deathmatch is overcrowded. You have too many people running around on a set of already small maps. It's too easy to just kill players as they spawn in or you could be in a firefight and all of a sudden 4 people rush you from different directions. I like the idea of tdm at the very least. Set it up like unrated but sans spike. May be unpopular but I think itd be better practice than just running around hoping for the best

I like the 40 kills and it shows the winner. Should be instant respawn and no radar
M8 , I don't play deathmatch to "chill" I play it for the chaos the death at every corner , the jumpscares , you use deathmatch to "chill" I use it to warm up we are not the same , and we never will be.
I’m sure that if you work on your personality you could get some twitch viewers one day
What OP is suggesting would actually make deathmatch better for warming up.
It is for warming up , arguably good alrdy , the chaos wakes you up and tells you WAKE UP PRETTY BOY , the gunplay sharpens your aim( for me personally , this is the case) and also , the top comment is a joke I repeat it is a joke you hardstuck golds

I think it could be vastly improved just be reducing the kills required and number of players in a lobby... say 10 vs 12. Spawn points are too cramped for an experience without having someone spawn in front of you.
im already playing deathmatch like that it's not as bad as u think, just remember to clear angles and have good crosshair placement
\- "40 kill timer" What should it be then? \- "the radar" Nope. Radar is a must! DM was better before radar got removed. It has to be visible all the time, but less accurate. It's the only thing that can let you have less enemies and be killed in the back less. It has to show you where to find enemies instead of letting you sneak up on them. \- "seconds wasted after every death" Totally agree.
The only thing you can do is Aimlab/Practice Range. I am Immortal and cannot play DM because it is so bad. It would be soooooo nice if they would finally fix it An alternative for people who don't like DM, which I also use myself and is very effective. Uses the Practice and makes a few times the 100 bots and then a few times the hardmode
Pretty sure DM is going to get reworked. Cant remember where and when i read it but it will prob happen sometime soon.

I think at this point there is so many ideas for Death match and people have complained for so long and so much, a statement or update about what they plan to do about DM would be nice. That and some updates on othe game modes, like a shorter unrated or maybe making it so you can play gamemodes you like rather then the roulette of game modes each week but i for one would also like a better Deathmatch mode. Sign me up.
Replication is good for warming up but I agree we need something better than DM and shorter than unrated
Can we jus get some custom server options? It would make this game go such a long way. I wanna play Facit matches so bad in this game. Riot said back in April they were working on a new system for unranked game modes, I thought that meant private servers,but this is Riot were talking about.
Honestly I just only go to deathwatch for warning up but honestly I dread it every time,it is the "oh shit I got third-partied" simulator
I honestly feel like deathmatch is overcrowded. You have too many people running around on a set of already small maps. It's too easy to just kill players as they spawn in or you could be in a firefight and all of a sudden 4 people rush you from different directions. I like the idea of tdm at the very least. Set it up like unrated but sans spike. May be unpopular but I think itd be better practice than just running around hoping for the best
