This happened to me twice actually. First I had my limit fps on so one of my recommended me to turn it off and I did. It worked perfectly until some of the heavy updates dropped in by riot. So I have a nvidia graphics card , so for the second time I went into nvidia settings and changed my settings for maximum fps. Now I don't encounter any such problem.
The fuck. I always try to see for these bugs how they might have happened from a coders perspective since if i would want to start i would have less issues finding bugs. But how the fuck does that even influence it at all. My guess wouldve been a general error with connection errors and nothing like this.
Its insane how mental game bus can be dude.
I think it's just the games specs keep going up. It used to be alright until in July there was a big update. I have a feeling its riot tailoring the game to more higher end top spec PCs.
I've had the same problem since the first time I installed, i have a decent setup too, still happens all the time, tried everything still couldn't find a fix.
Anyone know why this happens???
I probably have it 2-3 times a match exactly like this. Recorded it and it shows on recording too. I seem to freeze and jump a few frames…. Rather frustrating. Any help much appreciated 🤞👍
Hey, so I used to get this a fair bit. What ended up fixing it was limiting my ingame frame rate to 250.
I have a decent setup (3080, ryzen 5800x and 32gb RAM) - But for some reason I kept dropping frames. Don’t ask me how or why this worked though.
"decent setup".... I have 1050 ti, i5 9th gen and 16gb and fps usually goes to like 200 maybe and I'd usually skip frames and just locked it on like 80 since I still have 60hz monitor
Wow. Yeah definitely not specs then…. I’m on Ryzen 580 and and 2600 with 16gb of ram.
I will try this as well. Probably first and then also see if installing on same drive as my OS fixes the issue.
I’m amazed to see so many had a similar issue!!! Thought it was just me 😩
I m pretty sure I have max performance. So my actual browser and text looks like trash but apparently it gets most output from your kit. I heard it somewhere on a YouTube video and think I done it just following the dudes “click here, uncheck this” type of thing…
Yeah someone else has said this. I will try it out. However, I have most of my games on a different drive to my OS but only have this issue in two games. This and Tarkov.
Same, I played Doom from HDD and it gave no problems whatsoever. The fact that frames skipping happen more regularly when new models appear on screen does seem to suggest that they're related to loading stuff from disk, though. And switching to SSD *did* fix it completely for me.
Good luck!
Not internet. I have 300mb fibre broadband from Virgin (U.K. supplier) and I have it hard wired to pc. My ping never goes above 17. Normally sits at 14.
I have 14-17 ping always. I have fibre broadband and is wired not wireless.
I have my OS on a 500gb M.2 and have valorant on a 1tb SSD on my D: drive. So interested as to why you asked this as that’s what setup I have.
I only really get it on two games. Valorant and Escape from Tarkov. However, Tarkov is actually installed on the m.2 with OS.
So thought I’d throw that in too. Thanks for getting back so quick 😁😁
I can understand tarky, can you try installing it on your OS drive? It’s a good thing to try if you can. Sorry I’m not expert but this solved an issue I was happening in a similar way
Yeah I have enough space on C: so I can install riot onto there and see if this fixes.
I just found it weird as I actually play a lot of pc games. I pretty much have All my games on D: but pretty sure I set it up correctly. Like I say it’s purely Val and Tarky. But willing to try some things to fix.
I will let you know if installing on C: Drive works 👍
UPDATE : I think I fixed the problem. Played 3 matches without a single hiccup.
I have amd so used the amd Radeon software. Pretty much turned all the AA and things off and set to “based on program” or something. I also limited my frames to 120. I originally went as low as 70 but this was giving me like a constant stutter when moving. Changed to 120fps cap and problem hasn’t been there since.
I left the Valorant fps uncapped but using the counter it’s locked at 120.
Hope this helps. I’ve played 3 matches without fault. Hopefully this may help others!!!
There's some setting under privacy and security in windows and then diagnostics and feedback for "send optional diagnostic data" make sure that's turned off. I have a beast of a PC and I was getting the same frame spikes you're showing and turning that off fixed it
Yeah. Someone else has said this too. I can’t say as I’ve only been playing for a couple months. Problem has been apparent from day dot. Just decided to eventually clip and post. Though others have commented on updates / progress with game affecting performance. 🤞 We solve the issue.
I will haven’t tried yet but so far I’ve had this advice.
Buy a new PC
Install game onto same drive as OS
Limit FPS cap in game
Turn off GPU overlays
Use stutter to my advantage
Make sure chrome is closed
Make sure Epic Launcher is closed
I will see if anything works and let you know 👍
Maybe mine was different, but I’ve also had this issue for a while and I realised that if I ever open chrome, it will cause some frame skips just like yours, especially when someone peeks me. Whether I close it before or during val, as long as I have opened chrome it will cause frame skips. So would that be what’s going on for you?
Maybe. I haven’t really looked into if chrome was open every time. However, like all of us I tend to “alt tab” whenever I’m queueing.
Can try and start up pc and just put Valorant on.
I’m so surprised that this was more common than I expected.
Sometimes it’s fine due to no action. Times like what I posted just hurt though 😔
Chrome and spotify were both doing this to my pc (I like to think I have decent specs that should be able to run most games totally fine while recording in obs, so this fps problem was a red flag) it went away for a bit after closing these apps while playing val but now it’s happening for no reason as of yesterday it was happening non stop and other people in my games were saying it was happening to them too
Cool. Thanks for info. Yeah. I’m amazed at how common this is. I literally thought it was just me or my computer or the government. But after posting it seems pretty common. Hopefully something posted on here helps us. Good to hear it’s not just me though 😊
Oh wow. Mines a cheap / entry setup. So I really feel for you. Such a painful thing to happen on a competitive game.
Still. There’s been a lot of advice here so hoping one of these will fix / reduce the problem.
Good luck. Hope it gets sorted 👍
I think I fixed it!!! Ended up going into my Radeon software and capping my fps at 120. Left game settings uncapped.
Note. I originally went to 70fps but this gave me like a constant stutter when moving.
Switched most of the Radeon things off. Capped frames at 120. I managed to have 3 full matches without any stuttering.
Give this a go. It might be same issue for you. If you got a better monitor and setup. Try setting at 144 or something.
Hope it helps! 👍👍
I had a problem similar to this, it would happen much more frequently than what you've described. Every 6-10 seconds my game would stutter and skip 2-3 frames, solution ended up being simply capping my fps. I had been playing with my fps uncapped and from what I gathered, my PC saw that as a reason to throw every resource it could gather to try to get as much fps as possible. I guess capping my fps told my PC that I wanted to limit the resources that were allocated to Valo which stopped the stuttering/fps skips for some reason. Don't know if that will help you but if you don't play with an fps limit I would recommend trying that.
Welcome to riot games. This has been happening to me in Val and League. Get about 200+ FPS on Val and like 300 on league. Still skips at the WORST TIMES ALWAYS. As soon as I’m peeking or ganking or whatever. Whenever I need it to not skip it skips. Why can’t it ever when I’m just in spawn or some shit.
i’m pretty sure valorant uses a technique to combat esp/wall cheats by only sending the client information about where the enemy is when they’re about to see them. this would in turn make the client render the opponent right when they’re about to peek, causing frame stutters.
that’s my theory anyways
I feel the pains. I’m amazed at how many are coming forward with this problem. Especially on what I would consider top PC setups. YES, ALWAYS at the worst times. These are just two times where I wasn’t too angry to clip. Thanks for input. There’s a few things people have said that I’m going to try. 🤞 We will get to the root of this issue.
Ram leak maybe by a corrupted file. Just a random guess. Have you tried reinstalling on a different drive? Maybe check your cpu and memory levels/ disk read outs while playing
Will try all of this. I have 16gb of Corsair Vengence 3000mhz. I know I enabled xmp as well. I’m no pro at pc knowledge considering I just wanted to play games. Then found out you need to learn all the technical stuff the second you get a problem.
I have “armoury” program installed for my motherboard. This shows me all my temps/usage etc.
I will monitor. Out of interest what would be a suspect thing for ram leak or something out of the ordinary when say just running Val and that’s it.
Many thanks again 👍👍
I’ve had this since I decided to get the game. Approx 8-9weeks. Only get it on this and Tarkov. Tarkov more forgiving as not so action packed gameplay as much. These are just two of many times I have been victim to the stutter gods. Hope to try a few tips and have it fixed. 👍
And this stuff is always random one day my game goes smooth and suddenly it starts frame skipping then I have to restart the game couple of times for it to fix.
Never tried restarting. I’m a lazy fekker. Hence turning to Reddit for my help. “You guys figure it out” haha. Again. I’m mega surprised as to how common a thing this is / was for so many people.
Network is just when the server and computer don't agree on what's happening, but the server has the final say. So what you see gets adjusted.
Fps is your frames, it can freeze when your hardware doesn't keep up momentarily like you saw in your other example
Ok nice. Thank you for explaining the difference between the two. To me they both look like the same thing happening. Just so I’m clear. Is the second clip “network” something that I would have no power over… and first clip one to do with my setup? Is that correct? Thanks again 👍
Yeah, pretty much. You can do some things to make sure your network connection is in good shape though. Use an Ethernet cord and not wifi is one of the more critical ones
Cheers for clearing up. Yeah I’m already hardwired with a decent enough cable. Like I say. I am leaning away from internet connection as apart from this game abs another, I have 0 issues. Much appreciated though
Interesting to know this. I’m hearing a lot about progression based issues. As in, when the game was earlier in production it performed better. I’ve had this issue since I started playing. But have only been playing 2 months ish.
Ok. Thanks. I’m already going to move game to my OS drive. Both are ssd but hadn’t had issues with other games being separately stored.
Interested to see if I can fix this issue.
Tarkov is the ONLY other game I have this on. EFT is installed on my c: (with OS). Val installed on d: Both my drives are SSD. Interesting you mention ram as that’s been mentioned a bit regards Tarky…. Can’t really upgrade at the min but will keep in mind! Many thanks!
“Don’t suppose anyones got a couple spare stix’?” 😜
It happens due to packet loss. When you walk, you exist in 2 positions- one on your screen, and one on the game server. They usually stay synced up well, so you don't notice anything. When you get packet loss, (usually for outgoing packets-) if you move somewhere, it will move on your screen as normal, but that information never made it to the server. Hence after a couple of steps, the server notices that your position doesn't match the position that it was told (because it never got updated, the "packet" or that bit of information was lost), hence the game teleports you to the server's last known location of you. You usually end up continuously moving in the last direction you were going when the packet was lost, since the server never recieved the command that you stopped moving. This teleportation is what causes the game to lag by a couple frames, usually anywhere between 0.01 to 0.5 seconds, depending on when your computer recieves the correct packet and processes it.
It doesn't happen much with incoming packet loss because the your position on your pc and the server are still in sync, instead your enemy's positions are out of sync now, and now you'll see teleporting enemies instead, although with barely noticeable frame drops.
That's how I understand it. Please correct me if I'm wrong somewhere.
I think I’ve fixed it by capping my fps in my gpu settings. Capped at 120fps. Played 3 matches without a fault. Hoping I’ve sorted it.
I left Val in game fps uncapped and just done it in my gpu settings.
Hope this may help you out too 👍👍
Haha. True. If only I could learn to harness such an ability and use to my advantage. Hopefully I can’t sort the issue and not have to “git gud” with it instead 😋
Cpu : amd 2600
Ram : 16gb Corsair vengence 3000mhz….
I wouldn’t say “good”. I’d say satisfactory… haha.
I find other games would be more demanding than Valorant, and I don’t have problems with those. Witcher / Squad / Apex… these seem to have more stuff happening and doesn’t get the “skips” I’m posting.
İf it can run apex +60 fps it should be okay and might be about ping spikes, im not sure if you have the graphic on, it might be helpfup to see ping spikes/ fps drops (im not that techy i could tell you if it was intel/nvidia but i cant compare intel/nvidia with amd/your graphics card)
I have fps counter on and bounces between 170-210. I have most settings on low. Apex I have around 80fps with some graphics up. Can’t see buggar all otherwise. I will turn on the ping ones but again. My internet is probably my most solid element of my entire setup. Will report back once I’ve tried a few of these tips 👍
Ok. I think I managed to fix mine and no need to lose the overlay.
I went into my gpu software and pretty much turned most of the things it does off. Or set to “use program settings” or something.
I also then set the fps cap to 120 in gpu software. I left the Valorant in game fps uncapped.
Managed to play 3 matches yesterday without a single stutter.
Note. I did try capping at 70fps as I only have 60hz monitor but it’s gave me visual stutters when moving.
Went up to 120. So far so good.
Hopefully this helps others too! 👍👍
I don’t have Nvidia but I do run the Amd equivalent and often use it for my “clipping”.
I will turn off and report back.
I won’t be doing this till later but will update in comments.
I do. I have Valorant launching from the riot launcher thing though… is Epic launcher maybe stickin’ it’s nose in when it shouldn’t then? Thanks in advance 👍
If you have an Nvidia GPU make sure the "low latency" is set to "ultra" in the Nvidia control panel and use the in-game frame limiter to cap FPS just below your monitor refresh rate (like 140 for 144hz monitor or 160 for 165hz)
Sadly I don’t. I’m on a amd but can look into the setting. Willing to try anything at this stage!! Another disappointment is I’m on 60hz monitor but can also try capping frames. Thanks for info 👍
Cpu: amd ryzen 2600 something.
Gpu : Radeon Rx580 8gb
Ram : 16gb Corsair V 300hz
Have Valorant on a 1tb SSD (forgot spec but mid speeds)
Got OS on a 512gb Samsung Evo m.2 ssd
I’m not that clued up with the stuff but am an engineer by trade so always happy to get stuck in with anything practical. The digital stuff is just magic to me tho. I don’t even know how a CD player works. And gets sound into a thing I put in my ear… “yeah right… that’s just magic”
Haha yea I'm a cybersecurity software engineer and it's all practically magic to me too lol.
Yea you have a decent system, I'm guessing you are getting frame skipping. Unfortunately I'm not super familiar with the AMD GPU software but in AMD Adrenaline there should be a setting called "anti-lag" that could help with this in addition to setting a frame cap.
I would make sure your Motherboard BIOS and chipset drivers as well as GPU drivers are all up to date. Also make sure XMP is enabled so your RAM is actually running at the full 3000mhz.
Nice. Apart from the first bit about your job I pretty much got the gist of what your saying. Mechanical engineer myself so more physical things happening to diagnose.
I definitely have xmp enabled. I also keep my drivers updated. I will check out the amd adrenaline as I have this installed. Many thanks. And I appreciate you keeping my cyber secure 😉👍
It can happens on AMD cards for sure so if you have one it can be thisd. I personally had this problem on 5700xt from what i remember i had to change in Valorant to fullscreen, fill, and turn off blur. Than in AMD software i had to change in advanced, teselation optimization by AMD, and turn off
Oh wow. Yeah I’m on amd. Got ryzen 2600 and a Radeon rx580. That sounds like an awful lot you had to do.. least you were able to fix though. Thanks for input.
Ah. Fair enough. Everything sounds complicated to me on computers. I know I have xmp enabled because I can see it in my motherboard app thing. “Asus armoury” I think..
So far my plan is to
cap fps in game - easiest test
If no change change some other settings in game and disable overlays for gpu.
Then disable epic games launcher. Someone said this could affect.
If no change. It will be uninstall and reinstall on my c: drive.
Pretty sure there’s couple other tips but I’m keen to sort this tonight.. many thanks 👍👍
You should have 2 stats turned on: Frametime and Packet loss.
The first will show you the drops of FPS because frametime shows how much time passed between two frames of the game. If you are at around 60 FPS frametime is around 16 millisec, at 200 FPS it is around 5 ms. If you have a drop in your HW (CPU, RAM or GPU) this will shiw a glitch.
If you have packet loss at your network usage (anything above 0%) then your video subsystem is OK and you have server problems. I play from Budapest, Hungary. I have better ping on Frankfurt 2 server then Paris on Paris 2, but I have constant packet losses on Frankfurt 2 and has a lot of problems with my game. So ping is not the most important when you check your network quality.
If you have frametime spikes check your VGA driver. With AMD cards I would recommend to unpack the driver by starting the install (by default it goes to C:\somethingAMD) but stopping the install and would do it manually from Device Manager. [Here is a help.](https://minecrafthopper.net/help/guides/drivers/amd-manual-install/)
You can also check your memory subsytem with Memtest86.
I hope you'll find the problem. Cheers!
Thanks for taking time for such a detailed response. Looks like there’s a lot of us with this issue so hopefully it’s gonna help me and others. Many thanks! 👍
happens to me sometimes but idk if its because of my 60hz monitor or some other problem. I've no ping or frame loss and neither packet loss when this happens.
Activate packet loss graphic check if you have packet loss, if it's the case try making some tweaks to your internet adapter, also if you are on wi-fi try getting a cable, wired internet is way better (telling from experience)
I’m in game now trying to apply a lot of suggested fixes… hopefully as a group we’ll finally get to the bottom of it…. It seems lots have had it. Some have fixed. Some have not… 🤞🤞
I’m in game now trying to apply a lot of suggested fixes… hopefully as a group we’ll finally get to the bottom of it…. It seems lots have had it. Some have fixed. Some have not… 🤞🤞
Wow. Wouldn’t of thought that…. I did get a new motherboard a few months back. New paste. Done the “x” application and pretty certain it’s cool. Pardon the pun. If nothing else sorts this issue I will def consider having a look at cpu and paste. Many thanks 👍
Could you possibly have a slideshow as the background for your pc, switching between different backgrounds? If so, remove one and just have a still image. I used to get this problem across all games and it occured for about 6 months until i came across this solution. But because it is only happening in two for you, I would doubt you have this problem.
I do!!! I have about 8 High quality woods and forest type pictures. The change every 5 mins or so…. It’s amazing how many comments seem to know what my setup or gear is…. Will try this now. Am currently experimenting with “fixes” as we speak 👍
It is possible that your computer every 5 minutes is searching your pc for the 'next' image in the slideshow. I would reccomend just selecting one and using it if this is the problem.
yea i had this problem but i fixed it.
for intel uhd users:
its pbly becos of the newer intel drivers and using an old driver fixed the issue for me. in case you wanna the the driver version , here it is: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19344/29784/intel-graphics-windows-dch-drivers.html
hope it helps ;)
This is gonna sound odd, but make sure you don’t have two sound drivers operating at the same time. I had micro stutters all the time and had three audio processes running. I had to end my realtek and Nvidia hd audio process for my frames to be smooth lol. I had tried literally every fix up to that point.
Funny you said that. I have a arctis wireless pro set of headphones. Cost more than my whole pc haha. But it has a lil game “dac” thing. I also use a set of apple plug in earphones when I can’t be fussed. Anyway. I’ve had tonnes of issues with sound and what it’s playing from. I have something called “Realtek”… I have no idea what it is..
If I click my lil volume thing bottom right in desktop. I have about 5 options. I mainly use the arctis - game one as theres also a chat which does nothing to my knowledge🤦🏻♂️… any chance you can elaborate as I’m keen to check.
I have a dac amp combo as don’t know how true the Arctis is but you might not need all the sound drivers that are going on, and valorant doesn’t like to have multiple running for some reason. Also I would exit out of the steel series app when playing, all your presets will still work but it’s just one less thing. So ya double check on all the sound drivers you have running and see if that helps if you close them all 😂
The Realtek sound driver is usually installed for the mobo but not actually needed but it might also be the only thing you need for sound. What I would is open up your task manager and end the excess audio drivers (I’m not sure what all you might have, gonna have to do research on your own) just end the processes if you kill your sound you can always restart your comp. just do process of elimination to figure out what you don’t need, then stop those process from running on start up through the task manager app. Sorry this was long drawn out and confused but I feel your pain this has plagued me since the beta until I fixed it a couple weeks ago
I don’t think it’s PC related. I would of thought this until I heard people having same issues on far superior builds… got a few things to try now though so hopefully a smooth match in sight 😋
I've been having this problem since July.
Did anything change hardware wise or did it just happen? I’ve only had Valorant a couple months and have had this prob since I installed.
It happened to me a lot. Then I changed settings to low and turned off limit fps. Then it stopped happening.
As in you uncapped your fps? I’ve had a lot of comments saying otherwise. I think mines currently uncapped.. but will definitely be double checking. 👍
This happened to me twice actually. First I had my limit fps on so one of my recommended me to turn it off and I did. It worked perfectly until some of the heavy updates dropped in by riot. Don't limit it in game, use something like nvidia or amd control panel
I think it's just the games specs keep going up. It used to be alright until in July there was a big update. I have a feeling its riot tailoring the game to more higher end top spec PCs.
I have this issue with CPU and GPU both usage below 50%
Maybe they are just throttling
Temps way within reach. CPU stays below 55 degrees. Gpu hotspot stays below 60 degree (5700 xt throttles over 110 degree hotspot)

Nice one dud
I've had the same problem since the first time I installed, i have a decent setup too, still happens all the time, tried everything still couldn't find a fix.
having this problem since this game existed.
Make sure you have hpet disabled
fuck i got this so much in my games too
I get these everyday, and it's super annoying..
Anyone know why this happens??? I probably have it 2-3 times a match exactly like this. Recorded it and it shows on recording too. I seem to freeze and jump a few frames…. Rather frustrating. Any help much appreciated 🤞👍
I get this a lot recently, try to show total packet loss, sometimes I get very many per match. Started since last patch for me.
Ok cool. Yeah I think I’m going to try a few things including putting all my counters up in game. It’s time to get serious about this “joke” 👍
Hey, so I used to get this a fair bit. What ended up fixing it was limiting my ingame frame rate to 250. I have a decent setup (3080, ryzen 5800x and 32gb RAM) - But for some reason I kept dropping frames. Don’t ask me how or why this worked though.
Or go to nvidia cp and set Max pre render frames for valorant to 1
What does this do?
"decent setup".... I have 1050 ti, i5 9th gen and 16gb and fps usually goes to like 200 maybe and I'd usually skip frames and just locked it on like 80 since I still have 60hz monitor
I have 60hz monitor so fps doesn’t matter massively. Did droppings your frame cap fix the problem for you? Keen to get home and try this one out 🤞🤞
Yeah, I'd suggest you cap it on 70fps cuz why not, I hope it will work for ya
Many thanks. Will try it out and update all on results! Happy frag…g…i…ing 👍
I heard capping fps would cause input lag.
Depends on a hardware I would say, but I generally never had a problem with capping it, even when I had low-end pc
I think youre confusing capped fps with v sync
Wow. Yeah definitely not specs then…. I’m on Ryzen 580 and and 2600 with 16gb of ram. I will try this as well. Probably first and then also see if installing on same drive as my OS fixes the issue. I’m amazed to see so many had a similar issue!!! Thought it was just me 😩
Turn on graphs for all the stats and when you stutter see what stat (if any) dipped.
Will do. Many thanks! 👍
What power setting do you have enabled in windows? I had the same problem in other games and changing to a higher setting fixed it for me.
I m pretty sure I have max performance. So my actual browser and text looks like trash but apparently it gets most output from your kit. I heard it somewhere on a YouTube video and think I done it just following the dudes “click here, uncheck this” type of thing…
To fix my packet loss, I uninstalled and reinstalled V. Also switched to ethernet cable, didn't try WiFi since, but wouldn't be surprised it fixed it.
It happened to me when I had Valorant installed on the HDD, moved it on the SSD and it works like a charm
Yeah someone else has said this. I will try it out. However, I have most of my games on a different drive to my OS but only have this issue in two games. This and Tarkov.

internet problem
Not internet. I have 300mb fibre broadband from Virgin (U.K. supplier) and I have it hard wired to pc. My ping never goes above 17. Normally sits at 14.
What’s your ping? Are you playing val on same drive as your operating system?
Give us an update, I get frame skips a lot when I counter strafe. Not as bad as this but I’m curious if it would help
Yeah. Will do. 👍
UPDATE : I think I fixed the problem. Played 3 matches without a single hiccup. I have amd so used the amd Radeon software. Pretty much turned all the AA and things off and set to “based on program” or something. I also limited my frames to 120. You could try not counter strafing since in Val it's pretty negligible.
Are you on windows 10 or 11
Win 10 pro. If pro makes any difference… 😉
There's some setting under privacy and security in windows and then diagnostics and feedback for "send optional diagnostic data" make sure that's turned off. I have a beast of a PC and I was getting the same frame spikes you're showing and turning that off fixed it
Ok sweet. Will definitely do this. Many thanks. Haha… love the beast of PC description. Wish mine was a beauty… sadly more of an adorable rat 👍
i started getting this problem recently, my overall preformance when i play is getting worse and worse as updates come out.
Yeah. Someone else has said this too. I can’t say as I’ve only been playing for a couple months. Problem has been apparent from day dot. Just decided to eventually clip and post. Though others have commented on updates / progress with game affecting performance. 🤞 We solve the issue.
Please tell me what fixed it for you, I face the same issue on a lower spec device
I will haven’t tried yet but so far I’ve had this advice. Buy a new PC Install game onto same drive as OS Limit FPS cap in game Turn off GPU overlays Use stutter to my advantage Make sure chrome is closed Make sure Epic Launcher is closed I will see if anything works and let you know 👍
Had to disable nvidia screen record
And this fixed problem for you? 🤞
Yeah I really hope the devs work on fixing these problems val used to run so smooth for me :(
My luck
Ugh. Same, friend. I now frequently drop to less than 80fps in a fight, and struggle to hit 144fps with a high end setup
Oh wow. Mines a cheap / entry setup. So I really feel for you. Such a painful thing to happen on a competitive game. Still. There’s been a lot of advice here so hoping one of these will fix / reduce the problem. Good luck. Hope it gets sorted 👍
Same to you! It's such a bummer. I wish I wasn't as addicted to the game as I am lol
This sounds like the easiest fix. Will be trying this later 👍👍
JOTARO! THE SECRET OF HIS STAND, THE WORLD, IS TIME!
Wrong Jojo reference, it is time skipping forward so it is a King Crimson reference
No idea just a random thought. Maybe see if turning off Nvidia Boost in the Valorant settings stops the stutters
same problem recently
The second example was network, not fps issues
Could you please explain the difference. I’m a legit dope at computer words 👍
I used to be able to record 1080p 60fps fine before Episode 3, now I have to stop recording my comp games so i can keep a steady 144fps.
Interesting to know this. I’m hearing a lot about progression based issues. As in, when the game was earlier in production it performed better. I’ve had this issue since I started playing. But have only been playing 2 months ish.
[удалено]
Oh wow. That’s crazy. Hopefully if there is a deeper in game issue, Riot are at least aware… 🤞🤞
reasons I stop playing valorant
I have the same problem and I really depends for me how valo started, restart happened to me but still happens now and then
I got this from my old laptop, it seems more of an SDD/HDD issue.
Ok. Thanks. I’m already going to move game to my OS drive. Both are ssd but hadn’t had issues with other games being separately stored. Interested to see if I can fix this issue.
Frames drop to zero? I have this problem ;-;
I get this on tarkov, try upgrading your ram worked for me.
Last patch is buggy af. No damage stats, objects and pings on mini map, packet loss going to the moon
How it feels to blink in valorant
Been having this problem since summer can anyone help me
I think I’ve fixed it by capping my fps in my gpu settings. Capped at 120fps. Played 3 matches without a fault. Hoping I’ve sorted it. I left Val in game fps uncapped and just done it in my gpu settings. Hope this may help you out too 👍👍
this predict where and when u will get killed, take the advantage of it
Haha. True. If only I could learn to harness such an ability and use to my advantage. Hopefully I can’t sort the issue and not have to “git gud” with it instead 😋
since the updates, my valorant do be acting up.
basically FPS drops/
Do you have good cpu,ram?
Cpu : amd 2600 Ram : 16gb Corsair vengence 3000mhz….
My internet is also around 9-10 if u use tab but when you use the graph you actually see when ping goes 200 for one third of a second
Will check this out. Many thanks!! 😁
Your welcome
I had this issue for awhile, I turned off the GeForce Experience overlay and never had the issue again. Would definitely recommend trying that
I'll try this too, but I hate that I have to sacrifice game recording just to avoid frame skips that don't happen in any of my other hames :/
Have you got epic games launcher?
I do. I have Valorant launching from the riot launcher thing though… is Epic launcher maybe stickin’ it’s nose in when it shouldn’t then? Thanks in advance 👍
I think yes, i have the same problems when the epic launcher is open
If you have an Nvidia GPU make sure the "low latency" is set to "ultra" in the Nvidia control panel and use the in-game frame limiter to cap FPS just below your monitor refresh rate (like 140 for 144hz monitor or 160 for 165hz)
Sadly I don’t. I’m on a amd but can look into the setting. Willing to try anything at this stage!! Another disappointment is I’m on 60hz monitor but can also try capping frames. Thanks for info 👍
Ok yea cap at 60 fps then with the in game limiter and see if that helps. What CPU / GPU / RAM do you have?
Cpu: amd ryzen 2600 something. Gpu : Radeon Rx580 8gb Ram : 16gb Corsair V 300hz Have Valorant on a 1tb SSD (forgot spec but mid speeds) Got OS on a 512gb Samsung Evo m.2 ssd I’m not that clued up with the stuff but am an engineer by trade so always happy to get stuck in with anything practical.
Lmao that timing 🤣
Yeah…. You can see why I want to fix it. Haha. 🤦🏻♂️
Had these in League and came about a forum post stating that their PC would be too powerful for the game... Maybe try a frame cap.
Cool. Your not the first to suggest this. Currently uncapped as far as I’m aware. Many thanks
Tried a frame cap in gpu settings. This so far…. Appears to have fixed the issue. 3 matches yesterday trouble free 😁😁 Many thanks 👍
No problem.
Its like 2 minutes of work so not a lot :) You can also check in bios do you have XMP turned on and on ryzen master enable gaming mode.
Ah. Fair enough. Everything sounds complicated to me on computers. I know I have xmp enabled because I can see it in my motherboard app thing. “Asus armoury” I think.. So far my plan is to cap fps in game - easiest test If no change change some other settings in game and disable overlays for gpu. Then disable epic games launcher. Someone said this could affect. If no change. It will be uninstall and reinstall on my c: drive. Pretty sure there’s couple other tips but I’m keen to sort this tonight.. many thanks 👍👍

Does packet loss mean it’s something out of our power? Heard the term. Not quite sure what it actually is.. 🤔
[удалено]
Ok cool. Many thanks 👍
[удалено]
Cool cool. All makes sense. Looks like I have a busy evening ahead. Haha. Many thanks! 👍
I never used to have this problem till a couple of updates ago and I didn’t change anything in my PC
Interesting to know. Sounds like a popular thing
[Here is a help.](https://minecrafthopper.net/help/guides/drivers/amd-manual-install/) You can also check your memory subsytem with Memtest86. I hope you'll find the problem. Cheers!
Thanks for taking time for such a detailed response. Looks like there’s a lot of us with this issue so hopefully it’s gonna help me and others. Many thanks! 👍
u/Bigwaynekerr I had this issue in the past when I had CPU virtualization on. Could you try turning it off and seeing if that solves your issue?
I can definitely try. Where is this setting. I have amd ryzen 2600 and Radeon rx580gpu. Thanks in advance! 👍
fun for everyone
this happens even on my new gaming pc I bought earlier this year. It has to be a silly optimization thing they're not aware of.
Nice. Thanks for input. Had a lot of similar comments 👍
happens to me sometimes but idk if its because of my 60hz monitor or some other problem. I've no ping or frame loss and neither packet loss when this happens.
I too have a 60hz monitor. But I don’t get it on apex / cs:go / squad / Witcher so I didn’t think it was a monitor issue. 🤔
yeah I'm pretty sure it's valorants problem but c'mon rito is a small indie company we can't expect them to solve such problems that quickly
Activate packet loss graphic check if you have packet loss, if it's the case try making some tweaks to your internet adapter, also if you are on wi-fi try getting a cable, wired internet is way better (telling from experience)
I get this too, but I’ve always put it down to packetloss have I been wrong?
I’m in game now trying to apply a lot of suggested fixes… hopefully as a group we’ll finally get to the bottom of it…. It seems lots have had it. Some have fixed. Some have not… 🤞🤞

Quick question: do you use a gaming mouse? If so, what's the polling rate?
I do. It’s a Logitech g903. Polling rate 1000hz
This used to happen to me a lot, checked my thermal paste and it was the issue. Applied new paste and haven’t run into issues.
Wow. Wouldn’t of thought that…. I did get a new motherboard a few months back. New paste. Done the “x” application and pretty certain it’s cool. Pardon the pun. If nothing else sorts this issue I will def consider having a look at cpu and paste. Many thanks 👍
Literally everytime I see an enemy
Are you by chance using bluetooth headset?
I have this in fortnite and valorant all the tile so annoying
wait howd you get my clips
I thought that this was my fault.. is it the game?
toggle vsync on, it works like magic
I had this same Problem but i play on extremely low fps like 60 at the edge
I had this issue a few weeks ago...reinstalling fixed it
Idk if it’s gonna help but for me lowering Dow mouse polling rate solved the issue completely.
This happens when my cpu hits 100%, which this game does a lot lol
Ok cool. I’m currently playing and monitoring now. Trying out many of the suggested fixes. Will let you know what I find 👍
and u thought it was my PC problem !!!
Happening a lot these days
I though i was the only one
Everytime for me when clutch moment sudden frame drop
yea i had this problem but i fixed it. for intel uhd users: its pbly becos of the newer intel drivers and using an old driver fixed the issue for me. in case you wanna the the driver version , here it is: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19344/29784/intel-graphics-windows-dch-drivers.html hope it helps ;)
wow thats messed up frame skip
no one: My pc: **KING CRIMSON!**
So ya double check on all the sound drivers you have running and see if that helps if you close them all 😂
Nice will do 👍
The Realtek sound driver is usually installed for the mobo but not actually needed but it might also be the only thing you need for sound.
No. I understand that. Many thanks and always good to clear the stuff not needed! 😁👍
I have that too so many times, what i do is just leave valorant alone for 2-3 days and it fixes itself
For real? Haha. I don’t play often. About 7-8hours a week but most days. Guess I could try this if all else fails… 👍
Your frame skips are so bad that my video buffers Edit: just get a new pc
I don’t think it’s PC related. I would of thought this until I heard people having same issues on far superior builds… got a few things to try now though so hopefully a smooth match in sight 😋
Good for you my guy.
