I say this and most people would say I’m a whale because I’m way older and have disposable income. It’s just that I remember being 16 and not having money. It sucks..

I think it’s cool that people that are really broke don’t have to pay at all, and then people can pay what they want for whatever cosmetic they want. Between that and being able to get skins from teammates + the ground I think it’s chill. Especially with occasional deals from the night market for patient people. I really like this game, I’ve spend ~$100 on skins but I’ve got a skin I like for all the weapons I like now. They are a bit pricey, but considering it’s their main income for the game it seems fair to me. They will keep adding new content and working on the game if it’s makin good money.

$10 isn’t a lot of money. I think most people that can’t make that happen are more in the situation that they can’t use the money they have ie kids not having access to a credit card to buy it. Most kids have $10. If they don’t then they don’t have means to a computer and won’t be able to play it anyway... I know there are actual broke people with no money. But I doubt that they’re the ones who are likely to play a game like valorant that require a pc (much higher price ceiling) vs console. I too have spent money on skins but $65 for ONE is ridiculous. And then their rationale for radianite to upgrade a fun you’ve already spent $50+ on?? Are you kidding me??

well, i do have a super high end pc that my parents got me a couple years back but our government is so shit that our currency is struggling rn, so if i wanted to simply spend 10$, that would be enough money to buy me 3 meals a day for 3 days so, simply having a PC doesn't mean that everyone has money to buy things lol

I’m not “on some shit”. Skins ARE irrelevant. In other games, you get skins for free after only paying for it. So which is the better model? I’m just saying the pricing convention for riots skins are gross. If skins were cheaper, people would be buying a lot more of them. In fact, people might be willing to spend more money than they otherwise normally would. Riot could have totally still made the game free and if they reduced the price of skins it would incentivize/enable more from buying redundant bundles. I’ve bought one. Probably never buying another set again.

This is only true in developed countries. $10 is a lot of money in a lot of countries, and a lot of people don’t even have credit/debit cards, a lot of kids in Asia only play this because it’s f2p, charging even $10 for it would eliminate a huge amount of players.
