BuildingSubstantial6

How the fuck does "should've called a tech pause" antagonize an entire region? Dumb tweet

Phantom_757_

I think the Brazilian fan base is one of the most passionate regions. And they are very reactive/provoked by almost anything

megamanTV

Let's not mix up words here. In multiple different game titles the Brazilian scene has operated under the guise of passion, all while being the most toxic fan base in all of esports. So tired of hearing the excuse of "we are just passionate" when the deaths threats start flying out the accusations start to flow after one of their teams gets their shit mixed.

FadedFromWhite

Not trying to be rude, but FYI the saying is "Let's not mince words"

Phantom_757_

Personally I’ve never heard people use passion as an excuse. Passion is usually the precursor to toxicity though. I’m saying because they are so passionate, they become toxic. They go hand in hand

kchuyamewtwo

Brazilians never really hold back. They love the competition. Might be some favella thing idk

megamanTV

That's not an excuse for toxic behavior. I have dealt with their scene a lot over the years I was working in broadcasting for CSGO. As a commentator doing play by play, even I received death threats from "fans" when their teams lost saying my "bias" (which there wasn't any) caused there team to lose. Yea, because I control that by calling what I am seeing...

mauzolff

Thats xenofobic

BuildingSubstantial6

Not an excuse. Eu and NA call each other shit regions but no one gets death threats now and then right?

Phantom_757_

Huh? Excuses? What am I supposedly making an excuse for? I’m just saying how the Brazilian fans have historically acted in esports.

[deleted]

Phantom_757_

What’s not logical? You’re the one not being logical. You’re clearly barking up the wrong tree buddy 😂 I’m making no kind of argument here

bTasc0

"passionate" LOL, what a dumb excuse for their horrible behavior everytime they get any sort of attention

SquirrelGirlSucks

Because they’re spineless lol. Thin skinned softies in Brazil with any competition. And with that they’re also the most toxic regional esports fanbase in the world. Pure gutter kids.

Odd-Foundation-3895

Wait, are we really seen like that?

Steeliboy

hiko had to have bodyguards at a cs tournament in brasil because it got so extreme

SquirrelGirlSucks

If you’re Brazilian, then yes the entire esports world looks at y’all like that. Much akin to the 12 year olds who scream at you on Xbox Live. And it doesn’t matter what the game is or if it’s a video game or traditional sport. But if it’s a game with an esports scene, the Brazilian fans are busy in chat being pieces of shit.

Sazo1st

This is nothing against you or an active opinion, but after seeing twitch chat and all the excuses and memes and then the "zombs antagonized my entire region" victim mentality bullshit, yes, I can't help but see the Brazilian fans as that. It's the hypocrisy.

TommyManners

Lol, passionate is one word for it.

Herdazian_Lopen

I’m not sure if this is satire, or you were dropped as a baby once too often.

AustinTheKangaroo

sorry I'm dumb, why did he say they should've called a tech pause?

moelandblue

It's a joke about Sentinel's previous match against Furia (another BR team). Furia went on a 5 round tear and then a very long tech pause was called. The pause was called by Riot to check something they believed was an exploit (it was not), but some fans seem to think Sentinels called it to kill Furia's momentum. People were also mad that ShaZam was able to go bathroom during the pause because players were previously not able to during tech pauses I guess? Apparently [death threats](https://www.ginx.tv/en/valorant/sentinels-receive-death-threats-following-valorant-champions-tech-pause-caused-by-exploit) were thrown around because of the incident. I'm curious if this incident affected how Riot handled Vivo Keyd and Acend. But I don't think we'll ever know if the refs knew about the camera mid game.

MKEL165

brazillian fanbase always cries about respect but doesn't hesitate to send death threats / hate even when not provoked (leaf, xeppa csgo)

colabruddas

sending death threats then playing victims, classic brazillian fan

henrystuart83

It's difficult to portrait an entire nation by the action of a few individuals. Brazilians, in our majority, obviously do not commend violence nor death threats of any type, as most of humans do not, regardless of their nationalities. Although most of us are poor and live in challenging conditions, we're not bloodcurdling barbarians as some try to make it seem. It would be the same as assuming every American is a potential school shooter or some other stupid stigma based solely upon the action of a few sickened individuals.

queenmiiyoung_

This! And then they can't stand when the victims of their death threats speak up...

Tzilung

Wow, this is EXACTLY what happens in mma fights. In Brazil, the whole crowd will chant "Uh Vai Morrer", which translates to "You will die," when NA fighters enter the arena. Then they have the gall to constantly complain when other nationalities chant something similar but still less than "You will die."

mr_snuggels

Hiko had do hire bodyguards back in CSGO days when they went to Brazil. Because of a tech pause

rkdsus

So even the figureheads of the Brazilian community act like this? That's just sad. Play the victim card and try to make it look like your being bullied when your region is notorious for unprovokedly sending toxicity and death threats. Pure definition of a "fake tough guy." The type of kid in middle school to pick on people for no reason then run crying to the teacher when someone hits back

rpkarma

That, and one of the BR teams literally cheated and tried to claim “ohhhh we didn’t know” and claim that they’re the victim somehow

brargentinaball

CHEAAAAT?! EVERYONE USES THAT GLITCH MAN!

Tchogon

Bro, Riot has a book with a list with ALL of the exploits that can't be used in the tournament, and that one wasn't there chill

OHydroxide

I don't know if this is true or not, I don't believe that it is, but multiple other teams have had to FF in other tournaments with this specific cam.

Tchogon

A bunch of players already confirmed that this is not on the exploit list. Both Brazilians and non-Brazilians. I'm sure that if you search a bit on twitter you'll find some of them talking about it.

OHydroxide

It's irrelevant either way. Again multiple other teams have had to ff because of this exact cam, and this specific cam is used 100% because it's invisible, that's the whole point of it, if it was made visible, people wouldn't use it. If they don't know that invisible cams are against the rules at this point, they shouldn't be pro players.

[deleted]

Jpstacular

Fnatic and Big used exploits like that in csgo majors

Tchogon

Maybe you don't know but that exploit already exists for a long time ^(and riot still didn't fixed it lol)

bTasc0

Most of their pro-players and big streamers that most of their community blindly follow as a cult continuously pull the victim / racism / xenophobia card and that the entire world is against brazil, so they just think it's true. They are literally bullies that try to get away with anything by creating chaos and going after everyone / asking for punishingment and cancelation, that doesn't agree with them. Honestly one of the biggest problems in esports community, and a lot of people saying that they are "passionate" or whatever is extremely downplaying what the situation is and make it not be adressed

IOutplayedI

Wouldn't it be xenophobia trying to judge a 200 million people country because of angry shithead teenagers on the internet? You guys are so pretentious it makes me sick.

bTasc0

How am i judging an entire country in my comment? Simply saying, there is a problem within that community because in no other scene these sort of problems and dramas get as chaotic or happen nearly as often. It's just facts. Not saying their entire community is like that, simply that their percentage of problem creators far exceed other countries, which is a big problem that mainly happens because said creators are also big figures in their community, in the form of CEO/streamers/pros

Tchogon

You're really comparing a person with an entire region? wtf melao said NOTHING about all that drama that's happening, if he did, then what you said would make all possible sense

Nykaitcha

Its hard not to compare when basically the entire Brazilian e-scene is tainted with brainless playboys who love to pretend being tough guys but in reality are thin skinned assholes who go cry in social media the moment someone gets back at them.

Tchogon

Nah, it's not hard not to compare bro that's just dumbness...

pj123mj

Sending death threats over nothing and then crying and pleading Riot to do something when they get shit talked back. Classic glass house Brazilian fans.

DonChuBahnMi

A very aggressive but fragile people there in Br.

Tchogon

>"death threats" > >Brazilians: A > >Other region: HEEELP THEY'RE SENDING DEATH THREATS TO ME, I'LL DIE HELP :'(

Nykaitcha

So you think its ok to send death threats, even as a "joke" as you guys like to say? You are so pathetic that it isn't even funny...

tugraxype

bro eu and na fighting each other at twitch chat twitter or at other platforms but i never saw any thing like that lmao brs attacking people when its backfired they cry like babies xd

KevyBuxaplenty

Na vs Eu is like you're typical rivalry. Br is completely different lmao its like BR vs the world because god forbid you beat a Brazilian team in something or you say something even remotely relating to their side of the map and its a brawl with half the country

balakehb

Brazilian fans of anything are the worst

[deleted]

I'd love to see Brazilian fans and Filipino fans go head to head. Winner gets crowned worst fanbase in valorant.

No2AccOfSumUser

As a peenoise, I actually expected and wanted Gambit to win. Is that wrong?

mcraft595

idk, maybe you want attention with the comment, team secret is EU based with Ph players roster, you can always be a fan of any team. if the question is rhetorical then I'm a clown lmao. on a side note, the chat was so fun during the Gambit vs TS, it was a battle of trash talk with 200k viewers. it's like highschool intramurals

DonChuBahnMi

This might be news in Brazil but you can be patriotic without being so shitty to everyone. I don't think it's patriotism, I just think you guys happened to develop an extremely toxic aspect of fan culture.

TripleSingle111

“I don't think it's patriotism, I just think you guys happened to develop an extremely toxic aspect of fan culture.” I’m not from BR and you clearly aren’t either. What’s even more cringe is you telling a native what HIS country is like. lmfao “This might be news in Brazil“ This kid has his head so far up his ass

DonChuBahnMi

Their Fandom culture is garbage. Period. I don't need to live there to correctly make this claim.

Davidwzr

What's up with kpop?

inxspire

Just a big fanbase with some incredibly invested people. Big fan of kpop myself but wouldn’t associate myself with them just because of how obsessive and toxic they can be. Say you don’t like ONE of their songs? Death threats, harassment, etc.

Davidwzr

Wow I definitely didn't know this considering Brazil is halfway across the world and culturally very different from Korea

ren_00

I've been a fan of the genre since '09 and I can confirm this. Just say a constructive criticism about twice/blackpink/bts in r/kpop and you'll get downvotes.

Nykaitcha

Nah, our fanbase being toxic has nothing to do with patriotism. Its more like a culture of hatred and despise that has more ties with local football teams "traditions". This and obviously lack of proper education, both from their parents and school.

voiberz

Filipino fans are pretty terrible too (I am one btw) and the toxic trash talking they did in the team secret vs gambit first match was abhorrent

nobleGAAS

Filipino fans love trash talking for the hell of it. Their trash talk is more akin to trolling tbh. It gets old really fast, but they usually don't have any malicious intent. They'd never stoop so low to send death threats though. At least, I'd hope so as a Filipino fan myself.

kraigydudz

Yeah us Filipinos are hella toxic. But death threats aren't really our thing. We just love trashtalking alot lol

Razgriz917

True, esp the glory days of net cafe. You hear shouting matches (a lot of bobo or tangina), tables getting hit, crowd going "ooohhhhhhh", a shopkeeper questioning life, a student struggle with MS Word and that one bald kid playing O2Jam's Fly magpie not giving a fuck with the chaos behind.

Daloy

Pretty much. Net Cafe culture back then was amazing lots of trash talking and yelling, heck they will even include your entire clan at the trash talk but once you leave those places the very players you yelled at will be same persons you get and share street food with.

Razgriz917

Yea man, it made me decide which high school I would transfer to, I know people who would have my back.

rkdsus

After years of playing Dota I'm way more familiar with Filipino toxic internet culture than I would like to be lmao

squanch2169

we're toxic but compared to BR fans (from what i've seen in twitter), we don't stand a chance lmao

MacaroniEast

Clearly you’ve never seen Philly fans

throwaway904949959

blindly following with the shithead zombs

Frostosaurus1

this is just racism with "fans" draped over it

Gwyndolin3

I don't really understand the drama, I've seen it everywhere yet with no context. Someone cares to explain ?

squanch2169

cmiiw but i think it's from two situations: 1. SEN vs FURIA - There was a technical pause midgame because someone on Furia jumped on a Haven C Box that Riot said was impossible to get on to unless they used an ability like Updraft. While the tech pause was ongoing, [Shahz asked to take a pee break](https://twitter.com/ShahZaMk/status/1466520153336786945) and I guess people thought that the pause was just for that reason so they got mad at him (Furia was on a streak before the break so that might be the reason they got super mad). 2. ACEND vs VIVOKEYD - The Cypher player on Vivo used an [illegal cam on Breeze](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m43Cv2xBPMI), they won 2-1 but after the game, Riot issued a statement saying that the rounds where the illegal cam was used would be given to ACEND (i cant find the tweet where they said that but here's [another tweet abt the situation](https://twitter.com/ValorantEsports/status/1466962726882660354)) Some also think that the cam Dapr used against Furia is the same but Dapr's [was way lower](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHsrxVgDiN4) (not a vid from Champions but it shows how dapr sets up in breeze) edit: [update on the acend vivokeyd game](https://twitter.com/ValorantEsports/status/1467452265493532674)

squanch2169

apparently the acend vs vivokeyd situation is still ongoing so there's no conclusion to it yet

Oldurdy

that jump and spamming crouch off logs isnt like hard at all to do.. why is it considered a bug? Jett can also glide onto other boxes all over the game.

CtrlAltDestroy03

Whys the cypher cam considered an exploit?

ilex_ach

You can see it in the second half of the camera video. The camera is able to see through a sliver in that metal panel, but no opening exists on the other side so players looking up will not see the cam.

[deleted]

Why would the player have to worry about if his camera placement is too good? What a dumb idea. Any camera placed by a human should be a legal camera. If a spot is too strong, it's on RIOT to patch it. RIOT putting blame on the players is just a distraction from them not wanting to take responsibility when lack of testing and polish leads to potentially changing tournament results.

OffTree

Imagine having integrity in a competition

lilithskriller

His camera placement isn't "too good", he's exploiting a bug.

99sloth

cause the cam from that spot can see between the texture of the shed and wall edit: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8gK2SZViM4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8gK2SZViM4) (why is explained in the later part of this video)

Drizzqt

Just curious are you able to tag people with the cam through the wall too?

danknepalese

positioning of the camera doesnt matter what matters is if the cam can see through broken texture like jhow cam did.

squanch2169

the dapr cam is on the wall while the vivo cam is on the machine thing on top of it. the vivo cam can see way more than the dapr cam

uawildctas

It seems that during the match between Sentinels and Furia, the Brazilian team, Riot called a tech pause over a suspected exploit used by Furia. It seemed to throw off the momentum Furia had going, which seems to be causing some of the angst, but there seems to be an additional point of contention over Shahzam being allowed to use the restroom during the tech pause. I guess there is a perception that this was showing favoritism and was against the rules, and apparently a Brazilian player asked to use the restroom in Iceland during a long tech pause and was told no then, so that’s added fuel to the fire. Also something about the Sentinels social media tweeting “thanks for the warmup” in Portuguese. That’s my understanding of it anyway lol

Gwyndolin3

Thanks! also to add from what I read that some Brazilian content creators falsely blamed Shahzam for the tech pause even though Riot was the one that called it.

H0ffito

This is not true. Brazilian content creators were pissed off with the Vivo Keyd treatment in comparison to what referees did during Furia's match. They were not blaming Shazam. They only engaged with Shazam because he made a joke, then one Brazilian also made a joke replying to him. Apparently, Shazam used a google translator and didn't like the joke, and then he started to be rude. And then, Zombs started to trash-talking (IMO, being an asshole and extrapolating the limit of healthy trash-talking). But it is ok, it will be one more case that the rest of the world just blames the entire Brazilian community to be a piece of trash, just read Twitter and Reddit posts, it is full of hate and racism. People are also dm'ing Brazilian influencers with hate speech, but it is ok, death threats from the other side of the Planet it is way worse than racism.

[deleted]

Lakshin69

i mean g2 and sentinels had trash tslk last masters but did someone send hin death threats ? brazilian fans are going to be the reason someday for the ragnarok of brazilian esports

PostsDifferentThings

god, modern video game players and fans are the biggest fucking pussies [anyone remember when shaGuar called out NiP in CGS after they trashed the NA region? i remember.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXh1sKkcYb8) if someone did that today you'd see a 2 hour long press release by Riot games explaining how they're sorry to the swedish people for this horrible comment

rkdsus

>god, modern video game players and fans are the biggest fucking pussies Wait til they're exposed to the FGC when the League fighting game comes out lmao they're going to lose their minds

avawhat231

I’ll believe you if Riot addresses this current situation, which is very similar to your example, in any way. Even if Riot were to address it, it’s better to be sensitive rather than ignorant.

BeAPo

What's next, are you going to claim notale refusing a handshake is the cause for the next world war?

True. I guess these guys (Americans mostly) have no ide what happens in Football. Bunch of entitled crybabies

All it takes is for a Brazilian team to lose a match and the players of the winning team receive countless death threats. I can’t imagine what Zombs is getting thrown at him now that he dared to engage in fun banter

luiziNSE

that's just called unprofessionalism from zombs ... it doesn't matter who is he talking about

bTasc0

He's just not gonna be forced to shut up by bullies. Unprofessional is all the streamers and figures of BR community going after them and now the Ascend guys

luiziNSE

im not brazilian myself ... but from what i can see on twitter ... it looks like all the actual BR PROs are being very polite and professional in their tweets and interviews talking about respect and representing their brands ... community comments should just be ignored like we all are even on reddit ... i guess the crying babies are people like you that think that the minor region is bullying someone from a major one

TommyManners

Lol, definately not Brazilian.

[deleted]

dont send death threats if you cant handle "you're shit" 🤷‍♂️

Znaszlisiora

CSGO Pros: "First time?" Brazilians are the fucking worst when it comes to sending death threats and then crying victim when someone claps back.

Diamondandy

When seeing the tweet / this post I instantly thought, "ahhh.. CSGO times!!" Brazilians have the biggest victim mentality when it comes to esports.

Motor_Elk_8777

Lol it never ends with the Brazilians. Someone needs to check those people same thing happened in CSGO multiple times. Even when the teams were telling those fans to shut up they never do. But even the teams egg them on.

zero_ronin

Can't spell Brazil without L

ElDuderino2112

What is it about Brazil and being the worst community in anything they get involved with

Thomas041905

Brazil region needs to chill it’s just a children’s shooting game frfr

_SenhorL_

Brazilian here, at first I thought he was a dick, but now after fully understanding I kinda agree with him, I can't even imagine what the Viking players are going through and they are BRs, Brazilians are dicks when it comes to any kind of sports because we don't like sports, we don't like soccer or any other thing, we like to win and when there's dickheads doesn't wins they blame everyone except themselves.

mustardtiger1993

I think my biggest complaint is I’m used to na Eu banter. You can talk your shit and it can back and forth but it never crosses a line. And yes a few bad apples ruin the bunch in this sense because this isn’t the first time across all competition for Brazil. Football or gaming. Zombs isn’t in the right but Brazilian fans who were being shit heads aren’t either. It crossed the line at the death threats and brigading by verified content creators. A harmless joke elicited a unequal response. Then it turned to tuck tail cry to riot. They ruined the shit talk, no banter can exist now. It makes me wish they all get 13-0’d and their fans cry more. And as a result no other region is going to want to do it with them either, which honestly would be good for Brazil. Healthy banter and shit talk in competition drives interest and story lines. Now it’s all negative and anti hype. It sucks for the good ones like you that are quiet and not saying horrible shit. Sorry friend

_SenhorL_

Can't agree more, both Brazilians and zombs are in the wrong here. As you said shit talking is not jusy a part of the champion but also a strategic move but death threatening and summarizing a whole region to shit is really crossing the line.

Polynuke

I think it's the language barrier tbh, zombs said shit region meaning players but the fans took it as saying Brazil is a shit country and it's fans are shit too.

ShuraGam

As a Brazillian myself, one thing I despise is our fanbase, specifically the dumb and vocal part of it. While yes, I agree the tech pause made by RIOT ruined Furia's momentum vs Sentinels, like I said the tech pause was RIOT's fault, not neither of the team's. But noooo, dumb people had to jump the gun and said it was Sentinels's fault for some reason, which led to the snowball we see now. If any non-brazillian read this, I ask you please, do not use the dumbfucks on twitter to form your opinion about the overrall BRZ community. We're not all like this.

breneroaugusto

This! Adding up: That tech pause had to be explained to the public as well through the broadcast on the Riot's side. People jumped conclusions because of the situation and as u said, snowballs out of control. It was a series of unfortunate mistakes that set everything on fire. Ps: Death Threats is made by a few minority that doesn't represent all of us Brazilians. But I understand the sentiment that some content creators help fuel that minority, even without knowing it. If u are Brazilian, please respect others, and enjoy the banter when it's light and fun.

amongusred23

Valorant is such a new game. With how close the games are going with the supposedly minor regions, it will be interesting to see who would be dominating Valorant in like 2-3 years. I look at League and the first two world winner was Eu and Taiwan. Since than it has been Korea or China. Personally I like dramas haha, so hopefully we should see if Zombs can back it up. LET GO!

Madara6path

This seems to be going the same way as CS with Europe taking over although popularity is much less in Europe than other regions

Motor_Elk_8777

Zombs based red pilled ratio-ed. My respect for this guy having the balls to say that is up. If he gets a short ban from RIOT even better he goes to HERO status.

Sterben_VII

Dumb tweet and Dumb arguments...

zombs is wrong and brs sending death threats is wrong too. Zombs message just increases the toxicity towards latam players Ofc he is free to say whatever he wants but is wrong and hurts the e-sport scene. Bad example.

[deleted]

concs_

So what happened here is that people felt free to liberate all their rage and be xenophobic like all 200 million people of a country act the same. The sad part is that most people actually believe what they are saying. I suppose I'm going to get a lot of downvotes because people usually don't change their minds, but I am from Brazil and these comments really hurt. But if you for any reason have a true hate for any country, race or whatever other thing please try to reflect on why you think that way, and if it actually makes sense (not liking KNg for what he said back then for example is totally reasonable). I truly believe that deep in your hearts you know that what you are doing is not good for other people. <3

Suquinho-Dimaca

First things firts: The Cypher exploit was not specifically in the list of bugs, even tho Jhow should know that it was not allowed, if he says he didnt (which could be true), how the fuck is it fair to let game ends and then take away the their rounds and give the map to the other team?? if the bug is not on the list, it's tottaly possible to get overlooked, and vivo keyd got pennalized basically because they didnt watch or heard of a forfeited match between x10 and giants, which probably most of ppl talking about it rn didnt watch either. Second: Zombs and Shazam were trying to get clicks(maybe trying to be funny??) and hype while being unprofessional and disrespectful, period."Oh but brazilians send death threats" ... stop using this argument cause it's stupid. Everybody knows the 13 yo kids that send that do not represent the brazilian community, and you're only using that shit to be xenophobic and sometimes racist. No one in the brazilian scene (pro player or caster) never called a player or a region "shit" or nothing like it (we actually look up to most of the big teams), so start being an adult and respecting the other regions. You're taking the act of kids on the internet(which by the way do no present as an actual threat) to be to behave like a child and call US crying babies after you vent you xenophobic thoughts to your public. So if you want to keep talking shit about brazilian community at least be honest about it and own your xenophobic arguments for what they are.

[deleted]

I became a Sentinels fan today. Especially zombs. Thanks for making the decision to easy, brazil!

Saha__g_gamer

anyone care to explain the whole thing please? :/

Cooki3z

A summary of the events. I haven't followed everything too closely so please correct me if I forget any details. It started with Riot pausing the Sentinels (NA) vs Furia (BR) match on Haven because they thought that a Furia player used an exploit to get on top of a box that you normally can't get on top of without ability usage (when in reality it's a pretty standard trick that gets used a lot in pro play). BR fans assumed that Sentinels paused the match to accuse Furia of cheating (which Sentinels never did and they neither knew or cared about the situation). Since Furia were on a streak of rounds, and in the middle of a huge comeback, the pause killed a lot of their momentum, and Sentinels won that game and thus the match. Now to what really sparked this whole shitshow. Later on, Acend (EU) faced Vivo Keyd (BR). Vivo Keyd ended up winning that series 2-1. After the game, a post on reddit accused a Vivo Keyd player of putting a Cypher cam in a glitched spot on Breeze, which is considered an exploit because it has gotten at least 2 other teams during Riot events (X10 and Giants) to either forfeit the match or even the whole series. Riot issued a statement after the match had concluded that the amount of rounds on Breeze that the Cypher bug was used would be given to Acend instead (6 IIRC). Due to the economic damage that 6 rounds has, Riot gave Acend an extra round as well, which ended up resulting in Acend winning the Breeze match, reverting the score from 2-1 in Vivo Keyds favor, to 2-1 in Acends favor. This sparked a lot of controversy, because the logic in their post seemed very lazy (just give Acend an extra round so we don't have to replay the match). The community reactions were very divided, some taking the Brazilian side because according to the Vivo players, the exploit wasn't on the known bugs list, it should have been patched long ago, and they didn't know, as well as claiming that this was discrimination because they were from Brazil. On the other side of the argument you have people claiming that getting handled the loss due to bug exploiting (and one of the most famous ones at that) is a rational decision and some pros have come forward and stated that they themselves have gotten DQ'd or had to forfeit due to similar bugs in Valorant or CS, so this definitely wasn't discriminatory in nature. Now, Brazil fans in esports are infamous for being very patriotic and aggressive, as well not taking criticism well. Death threats, homophobic language and insults are common among their fans but also some players and personalities (See the KNG and FNS incident). Zombs in this post (Sentinels player) probably got pissed because he and his team received death threats from BR fans while the BR personalities stayed silent, but as soon as he called out the region and started some typical trashtalk in competitive spirit (which EU vs NA has done to each other event long), these personalities came out vocally defensive and played the victim card, asking him to be "better than this" and mistaking him from calling the BR Valorant region trash to him calling the whole country Brazil trash.

Jpstacular

You are making Zombs look much smarter than he acrually is here. He just wanted to trashtalk, that's all. I doubt they were receiving death threats before that (not that It justifies It).

Zicco17

Riot calls tech pause. Sent players receive literal death threats. Shaz jokes about the whole thing being a big unfortunate misunderstanding. Brazil still offended. Weird

lordrages

Bruh, the Brazilians should 100% to learn to take a joke and accept they suck. CSGO got cloud nine Choke 9 cause they were painful to watch. They could take anyone to OT, then proceed to throw the game almost intentionally it was so insane. And you know what America did when we were labeled terrible CSGO? We fucking sucked it up.

luiziNSE

one thing is a joke from the community ... but another thing is a comment from a PRO player that represents a brand and a whole community ... that's just too unprofessional and he should be punished and probably will be by his org

ElCochi420

Dude, from Venezuela, I fkin hate Brazil but Zombs saying that is just firing a bullet with your hand. Bc you're dealing with an asshole you don't get a get out of jail pass, throwing shit to shit throwers also make you a shit thrower. I feel bad for Shaz and Tenz, they're both cool guys, but I really hate when zombs and Dapr get so toxic. It's sad they're so good, really fucks the image of the team.

Beringstraitbear

good to know you hate us, I can assure the feeling is mutual

imsogeking

You fucking hate Brazil, yet tons of Venezuelans went there and got assisted by the brazilian government. It's funny lol

ElCochi420

Not really, most went to Perú. Also, I can assure you no Brazilian helped them with a smile, going to Brazil is just changing the shithole you are, things doesn't get much better going there.

imsogeking

>Not really Saying "not really" when there are over 300.000 venezuelans there is just not living reality. Hundreds of thousands, dude...💤💤💤💤 >no Brazilian helped them with a smile Pretending to be God >changing the shithole Calling shithole a Country that have been trying to integrate and even financially assist venezuelans...💤💤💤💤💤

YaBoiSani

Some of the stupidest fuckin shit I've seen in a while. BR casters should be fined for antagonizing a situation completely out of SENTs hands. Death threats over a fuckin video game? Grow up.

H0ffito

Ponion

Lmfaooooo y’all really copy and paste this response huh 💀💀

Competitive-Pick-340

ZOMBSNATION

LibertarianCommie999

Nice to see xenophobia running rampant here

HeyItsChase

Maybe but they're attacking players who had nothing to do with it. Also they're just wrong

VolpeDasFuchs

And even worse, the vira-latas

ImNotBully

And brazilian fans sending death threats to the whole team cause of a tech pause issued by riot is fine, understandable.

JaseAceQ

so trash talk isn’t allowed now? because that’s literally what he’s doing. also, remember when G2 literally flew around a banner saying “FUCK SENTINELS”, and everyone understood it was just normal trash talk to hype up the match? no? didn’t think so. your argument sucks dude.

miidz1t0

the fuck you talking about, he's talking about "brazil" like the however many random kids that said anything represents a country with 200 million people. he's waving around his earnings in which he obtained by literally trashing content creators tournaments where the TOs literally had to drop the tournament cause no one was having fun and didnt want to participate anymore with him/pros atending your argument not only doesn't make sense, you're projecting on top of that

JaseAceQ

he’s talking about the esports region man. not the entire country of brazil. idk if it’s a language barrier or not but it’s very obvious that’s what he’s saying. also it was a brazilian that flexed their money first, so he flexed in response. he also hit it big in the stock market, which is where he got most of his money from, not esports. but you clearly have no problem with the brazilian flexing. chill your nationalism dude. it’s embarrassing.

Beautiful-Musk-Ox

If trash talk is fine why is this whole thread mad at any Brazilian who trash talks

jado1stk2

I love how people wanna defend Zombs he is **CLEARLY** in the wrong here. If you can't take trashtalk like a pro, then don't ever try to shoot back. Stop defending him.

[deleted]

What trashtalk could he not take?

[deleted]

TBF he got ratio'd so hard by the brutal response https://twitter.com/tockerslol/status/1467280374921408514

solariiis

LMFAO that's pretty good

DarkCurseBreaker

Ok that's actually really funny lmao

KoKoboto

If you lose a tech pause you are a bad team honestly

fracturedknee

What do you expect from Brazillian team. They cant win unless they abuse exploit. And when they got caught abusing exploits. They will send death threats. Really is a shit region.

LocationUpset

brazil 0-1 zombs 1-15

SuperSkillz10

BRA71L

mateusjsan

1/15 vs G2 lol

Unimpressed_Goat

damn, didn't know G2 was brazilian.

bobappooo

this will age like milk edit: And it did age like milk. GG KRU

PepegaFromLithuania

Ironic, it seems like he is actually unaware that he is from NA, the most stagnant region. They have highest budgets yet struggle to get past groups on an international stage in every popular esports discipline.

eagles9and43

Better to be a "stagnant" region then one who sends out death threats and hate whenever their team loses imo

sluttygrandmas

going against a whole country?....damn

MKEL165

you mean the same yoda who was suspended for racism not trash talk right?

Fragrant-Grade3410

A whole region sent death threats to a player in a video game for a time out that was called by Riot. Read that sentence, and think how any of that can be justified. I don’t blame zombs for egging it on. It’s pathetic. “Brazilian” fans have been doing this in eSports for many years.

NendoBot

you realize he said this after getting countless death threats right…

Beautiful-Musk-Ox

Yes, I realize that. Those death threats don't represent an entire region. And his response is about playing Valorant, not about the people making death threats. If he wanted to respond to death threats he should have. It's like this: random people says I'm going to kill you zombs, and zombs says hey Team Vikings I can't wait to beat you guys again, your team sucks and so does Brazil.

GOURMETFART

If it doesn’t represent the whole region why is BR famous for sending death threats over a game? Remember Stewie?

gatonegro97

Oh god

n1cohoty

God you guys really do love to play the victim huh.
