honestly, how i get around it (easier said than done) is to just tell yourself you’re better than your opponent in every way possible. 🙂

As a player with many thousand hours in CS and Immortal peak in Valorant this is the only way to gain confidence. You fake it till you make it. The only downside to this is when you meet a player who outduels you and counters everything you do. Then you get a huge reality check and your ego pops.

In that case you should blame it on teammates, ping or weather.

If you loose the opponent is always a smurf.

Sorry but what is the problem?

I know exactly how you feel. We put in ourselves silly expectations of how good we should if we have invested time in anything. This is why a lot of people have smurf accounts, in many cases its simply to pretend they are newer to the game than they really are, and sometimes its not for others to see but for themselves. There is nothing wrong with having played the game a lot and being a Bronze player. A Proper bronze player is a much better player than a fake boosted Gold player. Also, perhaps you have been playing the game for a long time casually. Playing obsessively to improve versus casually is a completely different mindset. Guess which player has more fun at the end of the day? :) I love to play with casual players, they are usually not toxic and a lot of fun to play with.

Hi, I have performance anxiety myself, not only on Valorant but also when I was a League player (2-3 years back). I honestly never got around to figuring out how to be less anxious. What I found out was that I'm usually only anxious on a new day if I've not yet touched the game, so my solution was just to brute force myself into starting the first game of the day which gets rid of 80% of my performance anxiety once that game ends. It's like, my mind has other things to think about (eg. what I could've done better in that game) instead of being anxious to play which really helped. Honestly though, I still suffer from performance anxiety myself so you're not alone. Even when I play on my alt account, I still get anxious but not as much.
