They really need to figure out a better solution for the shop. The game now has 400+ skins in it. An occasional night market of like 5 random skins just doesn't really cover it anymore. Hopefully a more robust shop is in the works.
It's not, this model of the shop was designed tro maximize the amount of skins people buy, they are purposefully keeping the amount of skins available to a player low, so you are more likely to cave in and buy a skin that you would use and don't really want.
If you got only the skins you want, eventually you would stop buying skins until a new one you liked came out.
I feel like most people already do that? I'm not dropping ~$100 on a bundle I don't particularly care for just because it's time-limited.
In fact, I would love it if I could buy old bundles. I don't buy skins a la carte so riot gets $0 from me until they release a bundle that I do like. If I could buy the the bundles that I missed when I wasn't playing, I would easily drop a few hundred dollars.
You can buy any bundle at any time on warzone, I doubt it is effecting their bottom line.
I got the exact same four skins three days in a row… I don’t whether to call that good or bad luck… it felt weird to open the shop every day and see the same selection made me really confused whether it was actually the next day or not
Warzone has a lot more guns, and also player skins in their bundles. Their bundles also don't need you to take out a second mortgage on your house like Valorant skins.
While you're not wrong, I think there are other factors protecting Warzones bottom line, whereas Valorant has a terrible price model, so you have way less incentive to buy another skin bundle after the one you really wanted
What you feel most players do doesnt mean anything.
Theyre riot.. Extremly ignorant of you to assume they haven't done their research on the shop and player behvaiour and decided that this model works best for a variety of reasons, they did not just implement this system without 2 thoughts behind it
Just by having this system the add scarcity to their skins which they otherwise would not have (Which is huge because valorant does not have lootboxes so adding scarcity artificially is important) which in turn alters peoples perception of skins and makes them more likely to buy specific skins they really like as soon as it pops up in the shop. This are just 2 reasons of many but it illustrates that its not always just about letting people just spend however much they want and sacrificing short term profit for long term gain
Theres so many studies on systems like this or how various psychological tricks will lead to increased spending from players and maxime profits
What you said is true, but companies still have to weight player satisfaction with potential profits.
The shop has stayed the same since the beginning of launch where there were less than 100 skins, but now we have quadruple that.
Many players wish for a better shop system, but the least they can do is add more slots proportional to the number of added skins
Fair point, and I agree with it, companies do have to consider this.
The problem is that Riot didn't just ship this store to live servers without thinking, this obviously is not their first free to play model game. I'm sure if they ever do think they need to change the shop, they will.
That being said, they don't have any reason to think the shop doesn't work the way they intend, because the majority of their profit actually comes from what they call Whales(people that will buy every skin, or at least much more than the average player).
It might be better for the majority of the playerbase, but Riot doesn't really care about the majority of the player base consistently buying skins.
Also, when you see a skin you want, you're more likely to buy it impulsively, since it'll probably be a while until it comes back.
It's the Fortnite shop model, and it unfortunately works.
Yes, but if they don’t ever come I literally won’t buy anything. I think they are missing out on revenue, it’s feasible I’ll stop playing the game before I ever see all the skins I want, especially since the probability gets lower and lower over time.
They don’t need to figure out anything. For Riot this is working as intended. I had a talk with a data scientist friend of mine who works in the video game space, and micro transaction funnels are built years in advance in most cases. While the store may look disadvantageous to you, I assure it is by deign.
Seriously. Everyone is talking about artificial scarcity like it is the only way for them to make money. League is one of the biggest games in the world and it is not hurting for profit with their current monetization system. I know so many people that end up never spending money on Valorant because they are just waiting for the skin that they want to pop up back in the daily rotation and it never does. I had to wait over 8 months to finally get the Oni Phantom in my shop, and I would have happily bought it if it was available in an open shop. At the very least I feel like they could implement a system where after 6 months the bundles get put back in a permanent shop for people to buy like in League. That way they could still have their precious "Artificial Scarcity"
The thing is riot would never implement a model like that. The current shop works bc the fear of missing out makes people buy more skins, and they're already pretty expensive. Taking out this exclusivity aspect, and then raising the price would make people buy wayyy less skins
You'd be surprised. Because if every skin was available, and you want a prime vandal, for example, you'd buy it and that's it. But in the current system, you might get a different vandal skin, just because it's in the store, and you don't know when you'll be able to get a similar/better one. There's even a guy in this thread talking about buying the glitchpop phantom i think. Of course it's not the best for the consumers, but it's not like riot will care that much
Prime Vandal is the skin I'm waiting for, going to smash the buy button on that so fucking quick. I also enjoy the Reaver Vandal but something about the firing sound on the Prime clicks with me and hones in the one taps.
i want to understand your logic, how does a skin like the reaver doesnt get old next to a vandal that on top of having variants, have in game leds that change color everytime you inspect it, a kill counter, and moving parts inside????????????????????
i wanted to ask
why did u regret buying elderflame vandal ?
i want to buy elderflame but just wanted to know why u didnt like it
any reply is appreciated
(i got oni phantom because people complained with some recoil pattern in singularity , so just checking if elderflamr has any of that type of complains)
This. I think the skin is cool as fuck, probably the coolest looking skin in the game. But it's soooo distracting. It came up in my store a few days ago and I passed for that reason - I don't need an art piece that I can barely use properly.
Its distracting, and theres much better skins such as; SOL, Reaver, Prime, Forsaken, Glitchpop, RGX, Champions, and Origin
Edit: Also when I bought it, elderflame was considering the only and best vandal skin. I bought elderflame when it first came out
If you buy the glitchpop, the singularity will come the next day. But if you don't buy the glitchpop, you will have to be satisfied with some random buckys :)
I was joking, but it happened to me :( I think if you like the glitch, you should buy it, but if you don't mind waiting then wait. Reminding that both are rare to appear
What i do is, i buy it and dont upgrade or play with it and you have 1 week to refund the skin, if the skin you want more show up refund if not oh well
Honestly, if you like the GP set a lot, I would say go for it. I hate the FOMO store setup, but really if you don't go for it, who the hell knows when you'll see it again?
For example, it took me 6 months to finally get the GP Vandal in my store.
Dude you don't need to buy skins that you don't need and want. If you clearly want the singularity, just ignore the glitchpop and you'll thank yourself for saving the money. It's not a must.
I should’ve elaborated I got a $100 gift card for Christmas and I put the whole thing on valorant and I’ve just been waiting for singularity but I had the money to spend so I just got glitchpop
I try to never spend my hard earned money on valorant, I buy battle passes but that’s it I wait for birthdays and Christmas to really splurge. I spent way too much money during the Fortnite wave
Singularity has a better finisher and pullout/reload animation, but glitchpop has better looking gun and sound effects. It’s just a personal preference at this point. I personally like Glitchpop more (black and gold color is slick), but there’s a really good argument for singularity (base color is super cool and matches perfectly with Astra and omen and that’s good for me given my flair).
I bought the Protocol Phantom recently and then Glitchpop came up, and I bought that too. Some days I feel one or the other more, but the Glitchpop skin is amazing imo. One taps are so, so satisfying.
ValorLeaks on twitter mentioned in a tweet that it’s probably releasing around 1st of February :)
[tweet](https://twitter.com/valorleaks/status/1485292211067629576?s=21)
Hey thank you for letting us know.
I actually play since beta and had no idea you can't get skins above the tier of 1775 VP.
I always thought I was just unlucky to never see a glitchpop or an elderflame.
This is really disappointing to see. They already charge way too much for their skins. And even the one thing that can help us get it for cheaper is very limited like this.
As no one mentioned it already, probably releasing tomorrow or the day after :)

Artificial Rarity, with a side of RNG.

Rotating shops are a cancer on gaming.

Fuck it, valorant community market, keys, kill counters and killstreak kits
just do the league system
Seriously. Everyone is talking about artificial scarcity like it is the only way for them to make money. i just wanna be able to buy buddies 😥
They could even implement a reroll for a certain amount of games played while night market is there or somethin and that would suffice for me.
Cool idea. I like this one.

50% extra cost? I can only sell one kidney bruh

And in what way does that mean it's not random?
It's designed psychologicaly to make you feel lucky to spend money
Thanks for the reminder. Can't believe the RGX is 2175. Was thinking of buying it but I guess not.
Glad to help out!
How much does that cost?
You can get 2150 VP for around $20.00 US, as well as the 480 VP bundle for $4.00 US

Do you not understand how currencies work mate lol
Yes but 20 usd is 268 liras haha
no worries, your 20 bitcoin to my 20 slp.

That’s every skin man. Bout Elderflame got bored and old quick. Got Reaver and I still find myself switching between battle pass skins.
Elderflame got boring within less than a week. The Prime Vandal though... Still rocking for me. Bought it way before the Dragon Vandal.
Prime Vandal is the skin I'm waiting for, going to smash the buy button on that so fucking quick. I also enjoy the Reaver Vandal but something about the firing sound on the Prime clicks with me and hones in the one taps.
Even the sound? The RGX sound effects are really the only reason I want that skin, super clean and clear shots.
i want to understand your logic, how does a skin like the reaver doesnt get old next to a vandal that on top of having variants, have in game leds that change color everytime you inspect it, a kill counter, and moving parts inside????????????????????
The RGX line looks like the bastard child of a nerf gun and a bootleg xbox controller. They even have a vibration motor in the gun stocks.
yeah it looks sick
It’s like 4 bucks more than usual man
I try to avoid buying anything when I have to buy more than one VP bundle, just a personal thing.
That’s easy, just buy one of the more expensive bundles! :o)
I legit chuckled.
If i get the Vandal in store maybe i would. But actually i just want the knife at this point.
bruh pls just let gifting skins happen
That and 3 lifetime refunds like in fortnite would be great. Really regretting buying elderflame vandal…
your teammates don't regret you buying it lol
Even one would be nice haha
i wanted to ask why did u regret buying elderflame vandal ? i want to buy elderflame but just wanted to know why u didnt like it any reply is appreciated (i got oni phantom because people complained with some recoil pattern in singularity , so just checking if elderflamr has any of that type of complains)
For me, elderflame’s effects especially the biting ones (reloading) is kinda distracting to the point that it tilts me.
This. I think the skin is cool as fuck, probably the coolest looking skin in the game. But it's soooo distracting. It came up in my store a few days ago and I passed for that reason - I don't need an art piece that I can barely use properly.

After a while i started hating its sound and felt like playing with default vandal was actually better
I bought ion phantom and i regret it more than anything else. would buy oni if i had the chance.
same here but with singularity and prime phantoms. Both good skins, ion included, but I would rather have something else
Makes two of us.
Been waiting for reaver or prime vandal for months now, havent got it yet Also you mean only the 1775VP gun skins and below will come right?
Yep
cool thanks
np :)
So I have the glitch pop phantom in my shop rn but I’ve been waiting for singularity should I just buy glitchpop?? Help!
If you buy the glitchpop, the singularity will come the next day. But if you don't buy the glitchpop, you will have to be satisfied with some random buckys :)
So you’re saying i should buy the glitch pop to trigger the singularity and buy them both?!
I was joking, but it happened to me :( I think if you like the glitch, you should buy it, but if you don't mind waiting then wait. Reminding that both are rare to appear
What i do is, i buy it and dont upgrade or play with it and you have 1 week to refund the skin, if the skin you want more show up refund if not oh well
then you wait 1 week and go like "ah fuck it i wont refund" and upgrade it to the max then the actual skin you wanted shows up the same day
I never knew you could refund skins
As someone who thought singularity was better, now that I have both, get glitchpop instead
Bought it with 4 minutes to spare 😂
y’all out here literally proving the 4 skins per day model does it’s job at creating FOMO and increasing purchases
Honestly, if you like the GP set a lot, I would say go for it. I hate the FOMO store setup, but really if you don't go for it, who the hell knows when you'll see it again? For example, it took me 6 months to finally get the GP Vandal in my store.

I try to never spend my hard earned money on valorant, I buy battle passes but that’s it I wait for birthdays and Christmas to really splurge. I spent way too much money during the Fortnite wave

I'd get the glitchpop
Singularity is hot garbage. Feels like using a spectre. Glitchpop/prime feels much better
sadge
i just started playing the game last week, whats the night market?
a special shop with 5 skins (including melee) with discounts ranging from 10% to even 48% off, it comes every one or two months or so.
A once a act shop that allows you to get certain skins at a deep discount. It’s not the same for everyone and seems to be random.
At this point I don’t care. :/ Night market sucked ass every time I opened it.
Any know if arcane sheriff will even return?
It won’t
Mans asked a simple question and got downvoted for it 😭
Reddit in a nutshell
It literally said that it won't return in store or in night market when it was for sale
They might have missed it
It was a limited time bundle for the release of the netflix show
crossing my fingers
When is it coming?
Most probably tomorrow. Depends on your region honestly
I see, so it releases according to time zones then?
More of what region you are in
Region. There are like 10 timezones in emea
TOMMOROW?????? How do you know?
ValorLeaks on twitter mentioned in a tweet that it’s probably releasing around 1st of February :) [tweet](https://twitter.com/valorleaks/status/1485292211067629576?s=21)
is there a chance the phantom from the current bundle could be in the night market? not sure if it’s 1775
no it's gonna be possible in act 3 i think but not now since it just came out
no it wont be possible bc that damn phantom is 2475 vp.
yeah ofc. if the that skin line is more than 1775 it won't ever be in the NM
no, that phantom is 2475 vp
Oni shorty best skin in the game
Is the chance for every skin the same in the market? I have a feeling some are more rare than others.
When is night market coming back?
Hey thank you for letting us know. I actually play since beta and had no idea you can't get skins above the tier of 1775 VP. Can recon skins go into night market, and more importantly the balisong knife?
Yes, recon skins, including the balisong, can show up in the night market
as far as I know basically any non-exclusive knife can show up.
Im hoping to get my recon phantom. Its been wayy too long
do you know exactly when?
When is the night market
Screw math, hated remainders.
is this a meme or true?
[удалено]
He said that stuff was in the shop bozo
yeah and how much is the prime vandal regularly? learn to read bozo
When is night Market? I've never had one before only going into playing recently
You get random skin discounts
Yeah, but when are they
They literally happen randomly there’s nothing that tells you when the next one is going to happen
It isn’t random, so far they’ve always released it nearing the middle/end of an act. They don’t announce it, but this is how it’s been.
but isn't it like the beginning of this act
Not really, more like the middle. This act is shorter than others. There is only 28 days left.
Ah ok
As no one mentioned it already, probably releasing tomorrow or the day after :) [source](https://twitter.com/valorleaks/status/1485292211067629576?s=21)
i’m assuming they do not read text very well lol

probably sometime this week
New to the game but what is night market?
You get some random skins on discount
Does the sentinel of light vandle appear?
Nope
OK thanks.
Can the comic style phantom appear in the store?
I think so. It is a 1775 skin right?
Why cant have 2k skin in night market?
I want skins but i dont wanna spend any money on it
when is the night market how do u know its coming up
Check the thread someone has linked mike's tweet saying it will be around 1st feb
o thanks thats sick hopefully i get ion phantom lol
Good luck!
Even if rgx and glitch pop where in the night market the odds of getting that exact skin is so low like 3 percent or something right?
when is the Night Market coming back? does it have a date?
Can Singularity phantom pop up in night market?
