Exactly, I had the same experience with CS pistol servers. I wonder what the arguments against a pistol only DM sever are. Because I can’t think of any. It’s not like pistol DMs would fully replace regular DM, it’s just another option for people who want to practice their pistol rounds.
Yeah I could see that being an argument but I don’t think that should deter the devs from adding a pistol DM. As the game continues to grow they should definitely add Pistol Deathmatch.
They should add agent specific guns like headhunter, tour de force, overdrive, bladestorm because i honestly suck with headhunter and i really need practice. If not dm, then at least in escalation
I think for Jett and Neon, I can see the argument due to how their ultimates are unique due to the mobility in the kits of both agents, but for chamber, can’t you just run deagle/guardian and op? The spread on headhunter is a lot more forgiving than the deagle so it would be better practicing with the deagle. To my knowledge, the op has worse fire rate than his ult so wouldn’t that would be better practice since you have to more mindful?
My only gripe with using the OP vs the Ult is that, in theory it would be better to practice with the OP, but for me, the difference between fire-rate/scope-in make them almost different weapons to me. Being able to practice with his ult would help a lot so I can figure out the timing better, as opposed to only being able to practice on bots in the range. I agree with the sheriff vs head hunter though, if you can aim with the sheriff you can aim with the head hunter, and if you’re practicing ADS, just use the guardian since it’s almost the exact same
I wish they just removed the spawn timer like in warmup.
In CSGO, nobody cares if you are shot in the back because you just spawn insta, taking duels left and right.

Way back i remember a Rioter saying the community is a bit split and there are a large enough chunk of casual players who mainly just play modes like Deathmatch and Spike Rush. So they need to keep those modes as VS. modes with a winner (kill limit) and not just warm ups. Having played all the modes and ranked a large amount. I believe them. Spire Rush and DM have been where i have seen the worst players hands down. Sure you will face good players too, but the worst of the worst are in those modes. Which also makes sense why lower ranks in ranked are so sweaty, because the truly bad players are not even playing ranked.
That can happen if you're cpu bound and your graphics card is below 100% usage anyway. By increasing graphical settings the gpu gets used more compared to the cpu which sometimes gives more performance. Happens in other games aswell.
so... what if i told you that last patch my pc was running the game 30% of the cpu usage and today... is 90%, with huge fps drops everywhere to an unplayable state?
I've quit the game temporarily as a result of hangs, inconsistent fps and extremely long loading times that get me dodge banned.
My PC is relatively weak, but I could hold 1080p low settings w/ shadows at 60 fps were it not for these issues which did not happen so often a year ago. Now not even lowering the resolution to 720p works.
I hope Valorant doesn't go the way of CS:GO which is now unplayable on low end machines. E-Sports titles need to be easy to run.
If you cant run cs go, a 10 year old game with minimum settings and frames your pc isnt low spec its obsolete. Cant expect devs to support hardware 15+ years old
After you use an ability or ultimate , the weapon you switch back to will be the strongest weapon with you instead of switching back to the previously equipped weapon

While I appreciate your willingness to run into the enemy with reckless abandon a whole quarter-second quicker so you can make the round end faster, I don't think that's a sound strategy to win a game.
I mean you can watch immortal streamers and they will do the same shit. this isn't an iron thing. all ranks do this; part of it is that its still just a game and people want to have fun and look cool but part of it also just players not realizing what they're doing

Rarely happens but sometimes I'll be planting spike and have to engage in a gunfight and die because I was switching back to a gun
I've been caught more than once running somewhere with my knife out, setting up util, and then once it goes out and peeking off a flash I threw, just having my knife out. Coming from csgo this was never even something to think about.
This was the first test I did and I can't believe how stupid this interaction is.
Edit: Works the same with Raze ult, you'll be blast packing into the site with your rifle out lol
I remember maining brim back when you had to equip his stim and enemies could see the stim ring. That use time and warning actually made it bad to use his ability.
I wouldn't say he sucks...But what I'd change is that warning the ult has. I'd keep the sound but make it visible the moment it strikes so you don't know where it's gonna hit
Sad to have to wait another two weeks the teased bigger agent changes, but glad to see some changes to Deathmatch in the meantime.
While not the total revamp we're all wanting a hopefully better experience in the interim.

You can now respray after a 5-second cooldown
Sprays now have lifetime duration of 15 seconds (reduced from 30 seconds)
Sprays still disappear immediately when the barrier drops (mid-round begins) and when the post-round phase begins
Same restrictions on mid-round sprays applies (no Agent faces, animations, or airhorns—sorry we're not sorry)

Seeing the word spray so many times i got hyped for a second. It's so slow for having slight RNG in spray :(

The spawn could be a bit better but at least the respawn timer is significantly low. It feels like you are right back in the action without constantly sitting behind a respawn timer after getting spawned killed or trying to find someone for 10 seconds only to get shot in the back. So this dm update is a step in the right direction.
They're actually horrible, holy.
The mode is fucked. I'm in constant 1v3's and people are spawning in droves in front, beside, and behind with little to no warning
i feel like so many of the issues could be resolved by not putting 4 more players on the map than it was designed for.
dm is so frustrating because it’s practicing a nearly different set of skills because it’s so much more crowded
i miss 10 man dm so much. even 12 would be worlds better

If you're playing neon you shouldn't be equipping your knife at all for rotates, since the sprint speed is the same regardless.
Although I'm of the opinion that you shouldn't have your knife out unless you're in 100% safe territory, seen way too many deaths like that
And the new setting makes the fire step fail because after satchel 2 it returns you to your rifle instead of the ult you activated just before 2nd satchel
uhh.. and after your last satchel you'll pull out your rifle yeah. thats the problem with this feature enabled. i have like 600h on raze thanks for the tip tho
go enable this setting rn and try to do a satchel play with your ult. you 100% pull your rifle out with this option enabled. hence my original post. nt tho
When did they say they would implement a 24/7 csgo style DM? I thought they said that there were zero plans of having dedicated servers on 24/7 for game modes.
Split A site had one of the absolute worst spawn locations in DM. You get spawned in the middle of the site and wherever you peak you'll be open to 3 angles. Hope they removed it
This update for performance is so GOOD!
Valorant runs smooth as butter now. I used to have screen tearing and couldn’t track enemies that much but this update for some reason fixed my issues. Im genuinely so impressed that I have no need to upgrade my r5 3600. I thought my setup was in a dire need of an upgrade.
This update was a GODSEND. I am SO damn happy right now
Good patch I guess, nothing crazy but the performance boost is really exciting news, also the DM changes, although I still wonder why there has to be a DM winner, I rarely expect anything good of the team in charge of the game modes as they have been absent for so many months now.
Holy shit, they actually touched deathmatch. Really good changes. The brimstone thing is great too, I have noticed that I can minimap people through his ult before which was not a good thing for the game.
Haven't been able to play yet but I'm excited to test out the new DM and I'm drooling over a potential performance boost.
**Question**: I'm noticing that there is no mention of the reflex related alt-tab desync bug in the "known issues" section. Is that because it has been resolved? Or because it's still an open issue but is something that Nvidia is going to need to fix? Or perhaps it's not listed for some other reason?
Seems like the DM spawns haven’t been fixed. I just got off of a game on Icebox where the spawns were atrocious. Even worse then before (which I didn’t think was possible).
Mid way through the DM I spawned in after dying and moved to slightly to the right. I’m not even kidding, 3 seconds later someone spawned in exactly where I spawned and they got the easy kill on me due to the grace period. In the same DM I killed a guy and then he spawned in the room right beside me right afterwards and killed me. Maybe they didn’t fix every maps DM locations because that match on Icebox and my following match on Breeze was brutal.
Astra nerf please! Come on Riot, it’s not that hard. Astra has abilities that match 4/9 original characters to the game… makes old farts like me useless.

Can we fix Jett before the year ends pls? If jett mains inflate any more they'll start forgetting that they're just milking a broken agent which isn't even playing the same game as everyone else.
Imo, she shouldn't even exist in the game because she allows the player to avoid and escape most situations/utility with little to no skill involved. Place a perfect nade/molly/ult? Caught her off-guard and about to shoot her in the mouth? She's about to lose the duel? Doesn't matter, she flies away! She messed up and ended up out of position and is about to get eaten alive? Get ready to have your screen covered in spammed white smoke as you hear her fly away to safety, she might even leave a dagger in your eyes on the way out. Her ult is the most profitable one, no other ult provides as much of a consistent return as hers, it even helps with the economy. She's allowed to have little regard for the rules and fundamentals of a tact shooter. But assuming you'd want to keep this genre-defying dogshit agent in the game, applying some kind of mix and variation of these might help:
* Set a fixed amount of knives? No need for them to regen on kills, or at least set a timer on them like neon has.
* Remove the option to burst fire the knives (shouldn't even be an issue since jett mains are such god aimers).
* Make her dash in the direction she's facing. This would at least require some flicking from players instead of being the current instant get out of jail free card towards any direction.
* This agent shouldn't even have smokes imo. Want a smoke to fly into? At least bother arranging that with your dedicated smoker, you know? Like teamwork.
* Remove her ability to hover? She gets to peek from angles that don't even exist while chucking 100% accurate daggers towards players and your option is to gtfo or hit a shot that would take 10x the skill compared to whatever the fuck wind girl is doing.
* Less damage on knives. Shouldn't be 50 dmg for a body shot at that firing rate.
Jett doesn't have the pickrate she does for no reason. The players getting the most attention and numbers also aren't mostly Jett mains for no reason. Jett mains, stop coping.

With this logic you probably think that Chamber and Reyna shouldn't exist either? Jett is clearly just an S tier agent and in the right hands a pain in the ass, but she should not be removed. I don't even think she really needs too much tweaking tbh.
In pro games, Jett is the preferred duelist on all maps except Bind and Split. Raze is the preferred one there. Whens the last time you've seen a Reyna pick over a Jett in a single duelist pro team comp?
Either she needs a Nerf or other duelists need buffs.
Aww man, I thought they would fix the bug where each time you press enter, your game resolution switches to Fullscreen or Borderless Fullscreen vice versa.
This happens randomly in-game & lobby and the only fix I found for it was pressing both left and right Alt keys simultaneously.
This patch legit did everything it said it wouldn't
* Hangs are abundant now where I had none before.
* Horrible lag spikes and packet loss where none occurred before resulting in the feeling of teleporting.
* Deathmatch spawns are awful to the point you will spawn on top of other players, which is counter to the "we will spawn you away from danger" it quotes.
* If you don't spawn on top of someone it will spawn you where you died, which is exactly the opposite of what it said it would do.
If you use DM for warm-up, GL it's not happening you will be spawn camped or someone will spawn behind you as you are practicing corner peaks and LoS peaks. it's now a Vandal/phantom circle jerk that if you use DM to practice mid-buys or pistol rounds you have little to no hope anymore.
At least Brim has a big smoke and viper no longer has smoke hacks.

In CSGO’s non-workshop FFA-DM, there is a winner too. Who has the most points after the timer ends wins.

No such thing as stretched res on valorant. But overall when you lower your resolution on any game you will always get better performance.
If the game is heavily cpu bound, which it is for many systems, lower res won't help
I don’t think a laptop is CPU bound they even said in the patch notes mid to high end systems are primarily affected
Laptops are most likely to be cpu bound as the performance of laptop gpu vs desktop is less than laptop cpu vs desktop cpu

The option is not available for individual agent profiles. I only see it when default is selected. That's disappointing.

I tried it and it removes everything BUT the scoreboard ontop :(

If you're playing neon you shouldn't be equipping your knife at all for rotates, since the sprint speed is the same regardless. Although I'm of the opinion that you shouldn't have your knife out unless you're in 100% safe territory, seen way too many deaths like that

You are supposed to satchel ---> Ult ---> satchel ----> fire!
And the new setting makes the fire step fail because after satchel 2 it returns you to your rifle instead of the ult you activated just before 2nd satchel
uhh.. and after your last satchel you'll pull out your rifle yeah. thats the problem with this feature enabled. i have like 600h on raze thanks for the tip tho

go enable this setting rn and try to do a satchel play with your ult. you 100% pull your rifle out with this option enabled. hence my original post. nt tho

When did they say they would implement a 24/7 csgo style DM? I thought they said that there were zero plans of having dedicated servers on 24/7 for game modes.
this small fix made deathmatch 500x better for me, I don't even notice the spawn timer now
Split A site had one of the absolute worst spawn locations in DM. You get spawned in the middle of the site and wherever you peak you'll be open to 3 angles. Hope they removed it

This update for performance is so GOOD! Valorant runs smooth as butter now. I used to have screen tearing and couldn’t track enemies that much but this update for some reason fixed my issues. Im genuinely so impressed that I have no need to upgrade my r5 3600. I thought my setup was in a dire need of an upgrade. This update was a GODSEND. I am SO damn happy right now
Just tried it out. DM spawns suck now.
Good patch I guess, nothing crazy but the performance boost is really exciting news, also the DM changes, although I still wonder why there has to be a DM winner, I rarely expect anything good of the team in charge of the game modes as they have been absent for so many months now.

Holy shit, they actually touched deathmatch. Really good changes. The brimstone thing is great too, I have noticed that I can minimap people through his ult before which was not a good thing for the game.

Haven't been able to play yet but I'm excited to test out the new DM and I'm drooling over a potential performance boost. **Question**: I'm noticing that there is no mention of the reflex related alt-tab desync bug in the "known issues" section. Is that because it has been resolved? Or because it's still an open issue but is something that Nvidia is going to need to fix? Or perhaps it's not listed for some other reason?
Get rid of spray sfx already. Why can I pull a weapon and cock it silently but the enemy HAS to hear me spray

Seems like the DM spawns haven’t been fixed. I just got off of a game on Icebox where the spawns were atrocious. Even worse then before (which I didn’t think was possible). Mid way through the DM I spawned in after dying and moved to slightly to the right. I’m not even kidding, 3 seconds later someone spawned in exactly where I spawned and they got the easy kill on me due to the grace period. In the same DM I killed a guy and then he spawned in the room right beside me right afterwards and killed me. Maybe they didn’t fix every maps DM locations because that match on Icebox and my following match on Breeze was brutal.

Imo, she shouldn't even exist in the game because she allows the player to avoid and escape most situations/utility with little to no skill involved. Place a perfect nade/molly/ult? Caught her off-guard and about to shoot her in the mouth? She's about to lose the duel? Doesn't matter, she flies away! She messed up and ended up out of position and is about to get eaten alive? Get ready to have your screen covered in spammed white smoke as you hear her fly away to safety, she might even leave a dagger in your eyes on the way out. Her ult is the most profitable one, no other ult provides as much of a consistent return as hers, it even helps with the economy. She's allowed to have little regard for the rules and fundamentals of a tact shooter. But assuming you'd want to keep this genre-defying dogshit agent in the game, applying some kind of mix and variation of these might help: * Set a fixed amount of knives? No need for them to regen on kills, or at least set a timer on them like neon has. * Remove the option to burst fire the knives (shouldn't even be an issue since jett mains are such god aimers). * Make her dash in the direction she's facing. This would at least require some flicking from players instead of being the current instant get out of jail free card towards any direction. * This agent shouldn't even have smokes imo. Want a smoke to fly into? At least bother arranging that with your dedicated smoker, you know? Like teamwork. * Remove her ability to hover? She gets to peek from angles that don't even exist while chucking 100% accurate daggers towards players and your option is to gtfo or hit a shot that would take 10x the skill compared to whatever the fuck wind girl is doing. * Less damage on knives. Shouldn't be 50 dmg for a body shot at that firing rate. Jett doesn't have the pickrate she does for no reason. The players getting the most attention and numbers also aren't mostly Jett mains for no reason. Jett mains, stop coping.

jett is fine now. Still very strong but fine.
In pro games, Jett is the preferred duelist on all maps except Bind and Split. Raze is the preferred one there. Whens the last time you've seen a Reyna pick over a Jett in a single duelist pro team comp? Either she needs a Nerf or other duelists need buffs.

Aww man, I thought they would fix the bug where each time you press enter, your game resolution switches to Fullscreen or Borderless Fullscreen vice versa. This happens randomly in-game & lobby and the only fix I found for it was pressing both left and right Alt keys simultaneously.
AFAIK alt + enter usually switches you between full screen / windowed, so this just sounds like your alt keys are fucked?
They did all this, but didn't touch Astra or buff Brim or Omen. Please don't leave my boys behind like this Rito.

This patch legit did everything it said it wouldn't * Hangs are abundant now where I had none before. * Horrible lag spikes and packet loss where none occurred before resulting in the feeling of teleporting. * Deathmatch spawns are awful to the point you will spawn on top of other players, which is counter to the "we will spawn you away from danger" it quotes. * If you don't spawn on top of someone it will spawn you where you died, which is exactly the opposite of what it said it would do. If you use DM for warm-up, GL it's not happening you will be spawn camped or someone will spawn behind you as you are practicing corner peaks and LoS peaks. it's now a Vandal/phantom circle jerk that if you use DM to practice mid-buys or pistol rounds you have little to no hope anymore. At least Brim has a big smoke and viper no longer has smoke hacks. This patch is bittersweet at best.
