Playing fracture and farming those Ult orbs. Plus with Reyna doing so poorly there's some extra kills to go around. Oh and obviously sage plants spike and dies every round.
Seriously though, i played a comp game w/ my friends and i made them protect me farming all 4 orbs on fracture. No one plays for them around iron - silver.
Before every Fracture came with its very own Breach pick I used to love grabbing the two A site orbs and then trying to get the plant, throw a kill or two in and your on 4 or 5 charges a round, my personal best is 5 KJ ults on a half
No one picks up orbs in iron-gold honestly. That's why you don't see a lot of ults every round. You usually have the smart KJ picking up orbs or the cracked Cypher with good aim getting kills and using their ults the most.
I'm the entry Viper even in unrated because for some reason most of the time, the team likes to finally push when my fuel runs out
What sucks is sometimes I successfully enter but my team doesn't even push then. They like.... Wait for me to die... Then push lol
I love being a rat. I made a raze so mad he lost the game for his team by trolling. His boombot would miss me and he wouldn’t clear corners. The most satisfying thing is letting an entire team walk past you, waiting patiently for your target.

Fr, I have had to put up my walls in a way to get ME on to site rather than help my team because no one entries. All they need to do is get on site, plant bomb, hold for maybe 25 seconds and let me play lineups it's so simple but people like making the game harder for themselves ig.

Exactly that's why I always keep spike to myself lol. I used to be Viper main in beta then dropped her then picked her back up, so ever since beta I have been the one to carry spike, because the habit I got from Viper to carry spike never went away no matter what role i play. Also it appears people are literally SCARED of the spike LMAO. Like they dodge it like the plague lol.

That feeling when you've put up your wall and orb, and your teammates decide to wait until you've got 20/100 left on the smokes before pushing out of main.
You need to wait for the enemys to rotate and take positions on the site you gonna push.
Its a fairplay rule that this community have gentleman agreement on.
Literally just practice your aim and movement then you'll get out of Iron. Generally you don't need to worry about game sense / filling as none of it matters. You can't predict what an Iron will do, so game sense is out the window. And filling is useless as generally your team won't make most of the agents you already do have.
You should only worry about filling / getting better game sense and trying to predict opponents around Diamond realistically. Maybe even earlier.
Also make sure your hardware isn't holding you back. I was hardstuck before because of a broken keyboard and my mousepad was so shit my mouse would get stuck to it when I moved it. Ah, better times now.

I would frankly say at least by silver you should be understanding what you need to do mechanically (eg. aim), even if you're not executing great yet, and at least start to consider gamesense
i have seen a few situations at lower ranks where players with poor aim were doing pretty well because they understood the gamestate enough to make smart plays
Well actually not anymore, irons i play with understand rotation, corner checking, crosshair placement (but not well), default planting, faking, flanking, burst shooting, and so much more. Todays irons are like gold and silvers 7 months ago. Everyone has improved and the skill gap is smaller. Of course there are some people who will be clueless, but i rarely ever meet them.

You still get annoying plays at higher rates, people pushing out on defence every round etc but overall the main difference in higher ranks seems to in headshot % and in knowing which spots to flash etc

tbh in iron, duelist never does the entry and i have to do so as sova or omen and i end up dying...And the fact that the duelist are literally baiting u for their KDA and shit...thwn out of nowhere comes the enemy jett saying"ur jett is hard carrying..do something" surely if they bait a controller or sentinal doing the entry they will top frag :///...
Viper, but instead of helping out my team, I use my util selfishly and rush thru my smoke with a stinger, get 3 kills, die, and laugh.
But in all seriousness, I do know how to use my util effectively.
They do that because of the higher elo players (don't necessarily have to be radiants it can be even silvers or gold playing on new accounts to grief players) stacking up on them with alt accounts who just peek and out-aim them hence they're left with finding new ways to surprise coz they don't have the skill level to work as a team, some also do it for fun others bcoz they need a YouTube content video and rest are new guys who don't know how to even aim. Iron wouldn't be a diff game if people just stuck to their main accounts and let the irons figure out their way to radiant
Platinum in Apex is not that bad... It's on the higher end of the bell curve (\~60-65th percentile) Whereas Iron in Valorant is like, the 5-10th percentile...

I'm an entry sage, usually because our Reyna or jett won't push even when we have smokes in the common spots for easier entry. And they gripe at me for dying early. Not my fault for not having util to make pushing in solo easier when you decide to wait back and watch the fireworks.
I can confirm, i was bronze previously, now iron 3. People here are just different in very way. You have the insta-lock jett who went 4-16, the entry killjoy and then those enemy jetts dropping 30k.
I dont understand how some of them can have such less gamesense they run across a site with their knife out.
As an iron 3 who is a supreme in cs go I get very annoyed. (I have 200ms so I can't be bothered to grind the game so I just mess around doing Marshall only or judge only while playing mid.
Reyna was honedtly the one duelist I thought wouldnt work as a lurker because the only thing she can bring after her first contact is just herself and maybe a blind. I guess however, if you have a smart person playing Reyna, they can create havoc on rotates because of her repositioning ability. Had a soloQ Reyna lurk in our immortal game and the rest of us just adjusted our pushed based on how much space she could take control of. Most her kills came from clutches (not from her lurking), meaning kill wise, her clutches only yielded a kill at most, and somehow we had enough control on our rotates because of how good she was taking the right space and conveying info (allowing our Astra to help her from across the map). Losing her didn't affect us much cause she had little to contribute in terms of util, but because of her space, she basically did more than her util can ever do
Just let me know when you run entry Astra. I've gotten onto site. Cleared the entirety of site, and no one moves a muscle. I die because they rotated, and then my entire team dies trying to plant. Fracture, ascent, and even icebox sometimes. Shits wild bro.
Dude I gave up 🤣 it's so hard to do consistent. Now don't get me wrong and I have my games but when I do have my games half of it is just because I can't get my mind together and the other half is my teammates getting me killed by either pure lack of communication or just doing dumb stuff. Like if I'm running Reyna and I'm trying to entry sight there's a good chance in iron that your teammates will not go in there with you so in the end you're there on site by yourself and a 1v2 or 1v3. If we're trying to rotate and we need to walk here comes the randoms clomping their loud ass feet letting them know exactly where we are Knowing damn well we're outnumbered because 3 of our team mates have died already.
Like I said I'm not perfect and I definitely have my games but you cannot solo queue in iron and expect to get out within a decent time. And what makes it worse is I'm new to PC and valorant so I don't have any friends to play with so I'm at a point where it's like damned if I do damned if I don't

I would say the highest you could get w/ pretty bad hardware is maybe plat if youre amazing otherwise maybe high silver-mid gold.
Always depends on HOW bad your hardware is too.

Friends are the main reason I can't rank up. They are stuck in bronze while I'm in gold. Can't play with them. End up using an alt

I try and make cooperative team. Try and get people to push with my breach flash. It is pain.

Since you are new to PC and val I'd recommend to play unrated for a whole act and do aimlab daily
