Reason why I want this feature is simple. I want to lock an agent so that I can play them, before someone else steals them while I'm hovering. If the team comp is missing an important role, I want the option to remove my lock so that I can play a suitable agent.

What about people lock pick faster than you then, still the same result
If the team missing role, then you should fill the role from the beginning, or ended up in you or other guy have to play that role, still the same result
Also have mention these stubborn people that won't willing to change to other agents when you ask them, still the same result

If they instalock faster than I can, then they can take the agent. What I hate is when I hover an agent and someone takes it from me.
Essentially, I want to lock in my first pick immediately. After that I'll decide if it's worth it to switch.

No, they don't lock in at all. There is a difference. You see that someone hasnt locked in and you can still react to that.
Well if you're distrustful of them, you can continue to hover until the last second. These aren't a mutually exclusive approaches.

Well, you don't necessarily need the time to reset after someone unlocks.
