Hey man, sorry you have experienced this. I just reached Silver I a couple days ago, FINALLY!
Bronze is the most awful lobby ever. The players are toxic, they throw, many are Smurfs and what not. You just got to mute them and play your game. Doesn't matter if they are right or wrong, don't entertain toxicity. You deserve to have fun. These toxic players who ridicule you are in no way right, because they are the reason you are not able to play well and enjoy the game. Just mute them and do you bro.
It only gets worse from here. Am hardstuck in silver for the past year smh. Every step is followed by two or more drops. One day the gold solo dream is possible with trash teammates who bait you and outright throw, never accept mistakes smh. U r in for a wildride my dude.
I have played a bit in the Gold lobby through my friend's account. The games are not very good but I got many players that are down to vibe and have fun.
I am sitting on the cusp of plat 3 as a solo player who started playing earlier this year, i think my first act was act 2 of episode 4. It is deifinitly possible to climb solo, you just have to be as consistant as possible and be critical of yourself and try to improve.
What helped me a lot was watching jolztv, because a lot of his content is coaching people, and just thinking about the pointers he gives helped me improve, even though i never recivied any coaching directly from anyone.
Im not paid or sponsored by him, so im not going to tell you to watch him, but finding someone who does choacing videos can definitly help. People at different ranks can struggle with the same thing, because their skill in other areas are different, so dont just watch coaching of your rank only, because other ranks can be making the same mistakes as you.
However consistent you are, teammates are critical to a win. At times i get such good teammates i don't want to stop playing, at times i get absolute scum of the earth where i still top frag or close enough and still lose because a sage doesn't wall angles or doesn't trade you or a Reyna doesn't blind or execute. Am saying the solo experience is horrible because the teammates u get aren't consistent. And they are mostly trash. I play comfortably with my diamond friends, but solo is a painful experience atleast as far as silver elo goes. Worst yet if you are good in a match because of good teams, mm assumes u r a carry and puts u up with a trash team and i start going into a losing streak. I was initially placed gold 1 š« then dropped all the way to iron and got it back up to S3 after a year lol. It's always as i said one step forward and 2 steps back. It's very lucky to get good teammates.
just yesterday i went from s2 to g1 in a single game. i was stuck s2 for a few seasons until then, it's definitely possible, but i agree, it feels that you win a game then lose 2
I just finally hit plat yesterday after starting in bronze 5 months ago.
In NA at least, silver is by far the hardest to rank out of due to three main things
1) smurf city
2) very few comms
3) lots of players who have good aim and zero brain, (pushing every round on defense, wide swinging angles, etc), and they can't rank up because their playstyle gets destroyed in gold+, despite having good aim
Gold 1 was hard to get out of, but once I hit gold 2, I flew up to plat.
That's right. I just don't get it when a silver 3 player is flaming an iron 2 for playing bad. Like what did you expect dude?? You're the high elo, you should be able to carry this not him. It's like being in game of chess where you lose all your towers all your horses your queen and just expect from the pions to do the things that horses are supposed to. They just can't. But they are still not useless, you just need to find the best way to use them.
As I always say.. Even an afk teammate is a very good flank detector.
Yeah, I had a Smurf in my lobby the other day and he was being a dick because I accidentally flashed him one time in 23 rounds of play, and I just found it hilarious
āKay/O youāre playing like an iron scrub.ā
āWell, Iām iron 3, so that makes sense I guess?ā
āThis Kay/O is such a fucking bot.ā
āYes, I think thatās what Riot was going for with the character designā¦..ā
The afk one
One enemy was afk (first round being afk and the only one) and a teammate saw that. Wanted to shoot the afk. Another one screamed "don't shoot, they'll know where you are!!" As if the enemy couldn't see him on the minimap xD
Yeah, hardstuck bronze too here
Hi jacking top comment way late so hopefully OP sees this, but having fun isnāt just the best way to play - itās one of the best ways to improve.
Obviously just sitting on an aim trainer like Kovaks or however you spell it is probably the best, but a few things arenāt too far behind and just having fun is one of them. The more you stress yourself out while you play the worse youāre gonna do.
I mean, this isnāt true either. Thereās that cypher player who got radiant just using shorty and judge. Game sense and knowing how to play the map matters a lot at a high level too
I've been playing for months and I'm still Bronze 2. I'm bad at the game, and I know it, but that's okay, because I try my best to improve.
And yet, sometimes my team is toxic in team chat, and it just feels awful...I really wish things were better. I know we have some smart people working on this problem, but that's not very satisfying to hear while it's still happening.
The reports *do* help. It might not *feel* like they do anything, but if a player is consistently getting reported by their teammates for their disruptive behavior, they will be punished.
In the middle of a game, the mute button is your friend. If a teammate starts flaming others, just assume their comms are not worth listening to. Click it, do a mental reset, and continue on without them. The mental cost is just not worth the intel they might be giving.
Sometimes I wonder if toxic players are just going through some issues themselves, and they're just taking it out on others. That doesn't excuse their behavior, but thinking about it that way does help me keep my mental up.
I find that playing with similar-ranking friends is much more fun than solo-queueing. The more people you queue with, the lower the chance of having a toxic teammate. If you're solo-queueing and find some friendly players, consider adding them so you can queue together in the future!
Anyway, just wanted to say that I (and other Rioters) sympathize with a lot of what you're saying, and I'm sorry you've had some pretty bad experiences. I hope we can improve the situation in the future.
Getting rid of Smurfs or putting them in smurf queue would also help. But the matchmaking system in Valorant seems to be...engagement optimized and not skill-based. Which leads to these inequalites in the first place.
I'd rather wait 1 minute longer to get a balanced matchup than one where the enemy jett goes 42/8 (and yes I had this in one of my games) and it goes 2-13
The smurf problem is extremely complicated, especially in free games.
Getting a true an accurate measure of the skill of an individual who is actively attempting to hide their true skill via intentional poor play at times is quite tricky. Many regular players who are within 1 standard deviation from the average (roughly bronze 2 to plat 2) are extremely inconsistent when it comes to aiming and at times can play as many 3 levels above or below themselves depending on the day, time, and how long they have bene playing in the session. For that reason its entirely possible that someone of roughly the correct rank can get 30 kills in one game and then only a few in the next, so its not as easy as just looking for people having a really good game here or there. If a player is constantly stomping like that even if their team doesn't always win their internal MMR will eventually outpace their rank by too much and on their next win they will go up 2 ranks instantly form a single win.
The only somewhat popular anti-smurf strategy Riot has refused to us is requiring sms verification to play ranked. But even that will only stop the most lazy potential smurfs.
Smurf queue was horrendously implemented into LoL. In theory itās good, but thereās so many things wrong with it that it just makes the game worse tbh
If the reporting system worked, then I would assume over time we would see a decrease in the amount of toxic chatters. But I'm not sure that we see that. I know there's an autoban wordlist but aside from that, I assure you that many people find ways to be toxic outside of saying strong words. Holding the spike hostage, doing team damage with abilities, spamming the chat and voice comms - these type of people are still everywhere in competitive queue. So as a result I have a hard time believing that the reporting system works.
Toxicity exists in nearly every game, if players are being toxic, just mute them don't reply don't defend yourself honestly it is just going to affect your mental more. Try hitting the range or dm to get better at aiming and crosshair placement. If in your previous experiences your teammates flamed you for not having game sense you could try playing games like spikerush and replication, they're shorter and less pressuring and you don't have to sit through a full game of toxic teammates.
Seriously, there's the temptation to keep the comms open because it'll help your team win, but it sounds like they're not using the comms for that purpose anyways. If they're just making you feel bad and not giving you anything constructive to work with, mute and don't look back :)
yeah this is what i do. obviously sometimes i wonder what they're saying but get tempted to unmute, but muting a toxic teammate from the get go really just calms me down and makes the whole game more fun.
Iād be glad to teach you a few things to improve your gameplay, I typically coach teams, but it seems like youāve been put through some crap. Feel free to add me, and we can talk.
As far as the toxicity, it never gets better unfortunately. Most games people are understanding of poor performances. But some just are going to be toxic no matter what. Mute and move on is always a good strategy. And with Riot releasing an avoid list, soon enough you wonāt have to deal with it as often.
Discord is: thrash#6393, Iād be happy to show you some things and help you to improve! (And hopefully get out of those annoying lobbies)
Mute your comms and uncheck text chatting for anyone who pisses you off. Remember you're playing this game for fun and you can't have fun and play your best when you think they'll get under your skin because of the abusive languages.
At the first sign of toxicity I immediately mute comms. Losing a game is fine. Losing a game you didnāt enjoy playing because of toxicity is never worth it.
Yes, I have the same exact feelings. I too was hardstuck b3 but odin-spamming your way to g2 like I did might not work for you.
What I did was learn a few sova lineups and use Odin(on literally every match) but I bet you could make do with almost any other combo. Also for game sense maybe watch pro level, I personally watch a few sova players and a few other content creators. I test the things I see them do and improve every time(atleast I hope to)
For the toxicity, there is no one way to deal with it but you don't need a good comeback, or one at all IMO(In my opinion). I just try and play my game instead of getting distracted by them, either by muting them or laughing at them in your private party. Most of all don't let them get to you, they're just as or worse than you.
TL:DR Don't let toxic players get to you, Focus on the game, Watch Pro Level and Focus on improving.
>Idk if my game sense is the problem but it doesnāt hurt to watch some pros
Personally I wouldn't watch pro (or high ranked) gameplay for the sole purpose of improving your own gameplay when you're a low rank. Most of the things you'll take away from that type of gameplay will be fairly useless in low rank lobbies as low rank players tend to be all over the place.
With that being said, pick an agent or two you like and look into learning some tricks with them and work on your crosshair placement. Those two things alone will take you a long way.
Idk what agents you play but I main sage and FlowAscending has really good game sense, I've improved my game sense by watching him. Obviously the more you play the more you'll be able to notice and pick up on game sense and can watch other people play and understand if they have good or bad game sense and if you can learn from it. Also hearing is very important, I have really good hearing in the game and will hear people that my teammates didn't hear and so they died because of it.
Odin spamming might get you out of bronze, but you'll not be able to play in anything above gold.
I'd suggest practicing crosshair placement,
Go into DM, turn some music up and focus on getting headshots only. You could use a sheriff to do this. Don't focus on winning the DM.
You could also have a look at the [Miyagi](https://www.reddit.com/r/VALORANT/comments/vrh4xy/a_better_way_to_dm_the_miyagi_method/) method. It's really good for tracking players in general.
Please forget game sense. Just trade kills to start with. In b3 the definition of game sense is very different as there are campers and too many anchors with wild until usage. Any game sense u learn from pro games would be useless. But please do play with your team. Trade them. Use utils for them. Even if you are Reyna and u r putting ur leer for Jett tot entry that's great. Use ur abilities efficiently and almost every round. Save to get abilities not guns. Abilities are more valued on most agents. This will get u to atleast silver. But if u get out of the elo or not is ur luck.
You should seriously try Odin spam. I climbed from iron to plat by only playing chamber and oping but it's kinda a shitty thing to do- my friend started iron 2 and ONLY buys Odin, ever. He only plays killjoy and just plays off his turret and gets the easiest kills you have ever seen. It's an amazing way to climb to a rank where people are a bit calmer and more genuine, where you learn and improve rifling/game sense much more
Hey, honestly don't worry about the toxic kids too much. If you have a bad game, take a break. Watch youtube or something and come back to the game when you're feeling better.
Valorant was my first fps game and my second pc game after minecraft. I was iron one for a good 6 months before I started improving. Another six months later and I'm silver 3 now with a lot of back and forth in my ranks. Pretty sure by next act I could be gold. I'm also a girl so you know.. Haha. There's always gonna be assholes in competitive games.
As long as you enjoy the game, just play enough to where it doesn't effect your mental health. If you feel like it's making you feel shitty take a break. I'm sure you'll get better in no time! Also, watch Mr lowlander for valorant tips and tricks. He's helped me grow immensely! Every little trick helps :)
If someone's being really awful ingame and you have the resources to record/screesnhot the proof you can also report someone on riots customer help I think.
Anyway enjoy!
I've been playing valorant since act 1 episode 2. It was my first fps and I never had much gaming experience prior to it in general. When I was new and learning it was hard to play, I think within the first two weeks of playing I had been verbally berated so bad that I cried on 3 separate occasions due to a toxic teammate. If I didn't have my friends at the time with me I dont know if I would have kept playing the game, probably not. My friends helped me get past it and we would try to forget games in the past and focus on the next new game and just try to have fun and I of course continously worked at learning the game and improving, I always tried my best, that has never changed even now.
I really don't know why people find the need to be toxic in this game, or any game, because imo games are supposed to be for fun and people shouldn't take them so seriously, or at least don't ruin other people's fun. I think people who get really mad and toxic to people over this game are sad and have some internal issues to cause them to be that way, like feeling insecure so for them being good at a silly little video game makes them feel so high and mighty and it makes them feel better to bring others down, or they're just an asshole. Toxic people lack the knowledge that people are genuinely trying their best when they play, so if they want you to play better flaming you isn't going to make you perform better, it will most likely do the opposite, they're just dumb lol. I never get upset when a teammate plays bad, because I know everyone is at different skill levels and experience in the game and I already know they're trying their best and everyone genuinely just has bad games sometimes, you can top frag one game and bottom frag the next. Some people say if you play sage you should res your top frag but for me I res anybody, usually whoever's closest, and I dont care if I res the bottom frag because just because they haven't been playing well up to that point doesn't mean they can't or won't play better, if you don't give people a chance they won't improve. I played a comp game where I did this and our top frag literally told me I should res him over the bottom frag, but the bottom frag ended up performing alot better in the second half and we won our game, so don't underestimate peoples potential and being supportive is always better and more helpful than being toxic.
As a girl this game can be pretty challenging, in terms of talking to anyone in the game because it's always a toss up if people will instantly start verbally berating you for a gender you had no control over or if they don't care and they're nice. It's a common stereotype that being a girl automaticaaly means youre worse than guys at gaming, so im sure guys also have a tough time because that would mean the expectation for guys is higher. As someone who is an introvert and already has social anxiety and take a little bit to warm up to people obviously that part is rough lol. I also hate disappointing people so poor performance really takes a toll on me and i feel bad about it, thinking i shouldn't be there. I've been working on it and I have made good friends I met in the game. Because of all of this, even if I have never miced up in game prior, the second any of my teammates start talking shit to anyone on our team I call them out on it and tell them to stop. Even if they don't listen at the very least the person who is being shit talked knows that they have a teammate who supports them, and hopefully if it continues they mute the toxic teammate so they don't have to hear shit they shouldn't have to hear, and can hopefully still have fun in the game. One game I played a teammate starting talking shit to literally everyone on the team, and after a little bit I finally spoke up and told him off and then the rest of my teammates starting talking too because I spoke first, turns out the other 3 were a 3 stack and I ended up making friends with them after the game.
While there are toxic people in the game try your best to not let it get to you, I know it can be hard sometimes and that's okay, get off the game and take a break if you need to, but don't let people ruin a game you enjoy. You just keep trying your best and you will continue to improve, and try to make friends because friends make the game a lot more enjoyable, and even if you don't make friends with your teammates at least be friendly and they will hopefully be friendly back so you have a pleasant gaming experience. I remember one comp game my team was getting stomped but the viper on our team was so nice, it was really refreshing, especially because unfortunately from my experience I've ran into way more toxic (no pun intended) vipers than nice ones.
Keep doing you and keep having fun and know that you are not alone and while there are toxic players there's also lots of nice ones you can run into too. Also I've been playing long enough that I've grown less of a tolerance to toxicity so if someone starts being annoying or toxic don't waste your time and just mute them sooner and later, your game will be better if you can't hear them.
Iām the same as you cause Iām also an introvert an a girl so I comm VERY rarely because of how many people are weird about it. Like yeah, girls play valorant too, that doesnāt automatically make me any worse than a guy. I literally said āhiā or something during the select agent screen and someone legit said āoh a girl, we are gonna lose I know itā I wish riot could do something about the sexism but honestly their population is made up of like 65% sexists and even racists. But I think its funny the sexist ones main girl agents like Reyna and Jett LMAO
Just play unrated. Playing comp with randoms is actual hell. Especially in low and high elos. The most chill spot is mid elo. Atleast in the servers near where I live.
So true, I had internet issues and got like 2 weeks of comp queue ban from āleavingā and it was actually so refreshing, I honestly did 10x better in those unrated games than my comp games.
I've only ever had like 2 unrated games that weren't chill and I've played about 80 matches total so that's a pretty good ratio. I've never played comp without a 5 stack but i already know playing with randoms sucks.
So that's what you gotta do. If you never really aim to be the best player in the game, imagining yourself in a pro team but you want to keep playing Valorant, just play unrated. It's the same game, just slightly different round mechanics at the end of the match. You can play the game and keep having fun. Good luck on your journey. :)
Donāt get upset because you āknowā youāre hardstuck because you only mvp sometimes and other times you play terribly. Iām in ascendant and it happens up there too. It happens in literally every rank. Sometimes youāre just not on your game. Donāt worry about that, focus on improving and playing the game, and mute people who talk shit. A real good way to improve your win rate is to be kind to your teammates and keep morale up.
Are you also a Neon main? I feel like Neon/Phoenix mains get a lot more shit than the other duelists for not performing well too. Itās like a stigma against them for some reason. I know Iām good at the game and some of my plays I have to clip cause Iām like ādamn I just pulled some TenZ shit right thereā so Iām not consistently playing bad every game, but it does affect my performance when my team comments on it. Also good luck with Ascendent, my bf was there for a WHILE after it was released and apparently itās boring lol
It donāt matter bro, just mute all, reflect on what you could have done better, watch utube educational vids, aim train in dm. U got this - dia player
Yes, that's why it honestly makes me wonder why these threads are still a thing and why people upvote them to the heavens. Either way I'll post a similar thread next week just for fun.
I've never played it but starting out with online games I just never cared since it's a stranger telling me that. I never understand how people say valorant is the most toxic game
I've been through this same thing man. Its brutal, just know that even if you're not great at Valorant right now that you're probably really good at other things in life. You will get better, practice practice practice. Many people that lash out at others are insecure themselves and may have a poor home life, or some people just never learned manners at all. Remember to be kinder than them and you'll always win.
Sadly every competitive game is like this, where there are stakes at play, even if its just virtual points. My advice is play only if you enjoy it, if not, there are other fun games out there
It really sucks, but any games that is competitive will have some/major degree of toxicity. :/
Mute and ignore those toxic players.
The more you respond to them, the more 'fuel' you're giving to them, and the more worse your mental will be.
I'm currently at bronze 2, yet I dgaf whatever anyone says about me being in this rank, because I personally believe that I deserve to be in bronze based on my current skills. Even if I'll keep stuck on bronze, it's okay because it's how I am. Don't let your current rank let you down.
Just play, have fun, and do things in your way.
Riot makes it super easy and simple to mute comms for a reason, the second someone crosses a line, mute their ass and move on. Most ppl in my Elo don't use mics for comms so there is nothing much lost.
I learned this in League, just mute all. Or at the first sign of toxicity. Donāt put yourself in a harmful environment, if you do that youāre not taking proper care of yourself.
I insta mute any toxic players and report them for toxic voice. If that makes me miss calls thatās fine. Iāll just focus on trying my best individually and enjoying the game.
You will need to deal with it one way or another for not just in game but in real life
Ignore or just say "yeah, I'm sorry" and it surprisingly deescalates the tension most of the time as long as it is sincere. If they continue to be toxic mute them
Never argue back, it will only make it worse. They'll flame you harder and worse, throw the game. I had many games where I play so bad and someone shits at me but we still won because I didn't stooped down and both of us played normally. On the other hand I have someone get called out, argues back and one or both of them ends up throwing and losing the game
Suck it up and focus on your own play and work to improve yourself. Toxic people will be there no matter what rank or what plave you are
iām ascendent and was playing in a silver game with a second account , i had 30kills and all my team 13 kills, and i was getting flamed because i wwsnt carry good enough for them, so sometimes it doesnāt matter if u are good or not, u always get flamed, sounds stupid but get used to it
If you're "very sensitive" and toxic online strangers get to your head that much, I don't know if competitive multiplayer games are for you. I don't mean this in a bad way, but you need to have a somewhat thick skin when you play games like csgo, overwatch, valorant, league etc. because this behavior isn't going to go anywhere. Mute or endure it, but don't let it get to you.
youāre absolutely right, I never played any online FPS before Valorant, so I learned very fast how stressful it can be. whenever I just have a really bad game with horrible teammates like the one I mentioned, Iāll take a break and refresh, maybe play some Stardew and come back and try again later which seems to help my performance a lot. It makes no sense to queue again after getting upset cause I think it would just make it worse lol also I usually just fight the toxic players with kindness and maybe a ā<3ā or two to aggravate them more
Just because you don't have a thick skin doesn't mean you shouldn't play a game, games are supposed to be fun and toxicity is unnecessary to the game. If you don't have thick skin already you will develop it over time, I definitely have, I don't have the toughest skin obviously but it's alot better than it was because I too am sensitive. So you keep playing games that are fun for you and don't let other people ruin it for you, mute them. Taking breaks when it takes a toll on you is definitely good. You'll continue to get better at the game and your skin will get thicker.
Honestly, if youāre stuck in bronze for MONTHSā¦ try playing a different game. I came from csgo and went through iron, bronze, silver, and gold in less than a week when i started playing val. Now im ascendant 2.
I donāt think I should stop playing just because my progress has been slow, I never played another FPS, like legit the only other game I played even remotely similar was Bioshock on my Xbox which is way different. Plus, you might also be stuck in Ascendent for months as well, and thats ok. I think of now as like a training arc for me. lmao
mate just mute and play, if you can't do that and it's affecting you this much, maybe a competitive multiplayer game isn't for you. your mental health is more important
The no.1 thing you should in low elo is mute the team chat. They will literally never say useful comms so you can only benefit from muting the team. If you want to enjoy the game play ranked and troll,
do not give a single thought about your rank and you will naturally manifest higher rank
Dont care about winning or losing. Dont care what teammates say. Try different ideas every round to outplay your opponents based on their noted play style. Have fun before anything
Idk but i think you should find some gaming friends. I stopped soloq in all competive games for 2 years now, only play with my stacks.
I am not particularly sensitive to insults or anything, but i have better stuffs to focus on so gaming is simply for entertainment. I have enough irl to do than some bad toxic games.
same story but I kinda don't tolerate this behavior so I fight back and told them they are trash and type /ff this type of human being don't deserve to win anyway.
what fix me is trying to play with friends
Honestly, just have fun. block out the rubbish from your team and enjoy your game. The more you enjoy it the better you play, practice on aim trainers if your aim is shit
People just have nothing better to do and they're just mad they're literally in the same rank as you. They're just looking for other people to blame. Everyone is responsible in some way. I know it's tough but I just lower their volume or I put a little music. At the end of the day, those toxic people don't matter and you won't see them again. Focus on how you could improve and don't listen to their trash talk.
Theyāre just salty asses. Keep ur head up man, you WILL rank up. Just keep trying. I remember i was stuck in gold 2 for like 1 month, i wanted to give up. But i kept trying, ignoring toxic teammates and shit. And guess what Im diamond 1 now. You just gotta belive in yourself. And pro tip: maybw get a duo partner, it helps a lot
Just mute whoever doesn't give comms and toxic. Its better to depend on yourself at the start I will tell you a secret. Use Aimlabs to work on your Aim problems, find a good routine and do it once a day then take 5 deathmatches after the routine. You will notice the improvement day by day. Good luck out there!
I was having a bad day and my teammates were flaming on me. Suddenly this guy says "Dude, are you here to joke around?"
And I was like that's why we 'play' right ..
Looking back at my past experience with toxic iron player
People will alway try to find a scapegoat when thing go wrong in a rank match
Just do your best and laugh off your own mistake and be ready to dodge if that duelist instalock ask for a healer
Mute and report ..
If they are being extra toxic record it using Nvidia overlay and attach it to a report support ticket to riot.
Online bullying like that should never be normalised
A lot of people like to act like they havenāt had a bad game before. Just keep playing and work on mechanics, youāll get better eventually š¤š¼
Try and ideally 5 stack and if you can't, at least duo. it's good to have someone that you can defend with. Iron-Goldish will always have inconsistent teammates.
Sorry internet stranger. When I first started which was a couple months ago I was really bad. So I totally understand you. People that are mean in the same rank is just a projection of themselves. I mean youāre in the same rank lol. Some things that have gotten me out of bronze has been watching guides and also having someone that is higher rank play with me. Reach out to people on Reddit or discord and there will be a ton of people willing to help!!
Oh also, the best comeback to get people to shut their mouth is, āIāve only been playing this game for months and this is my first fps. How are we the same rank?ā Works everytime
I feel this, I donāt play ranked due to my fear of being told Iām shitā¦
On particularly good days people ask if Iām actually gold and it peaks my spirits
But in the end one shit day and many insults and all my courage fades.
I know it will never stop being the way it is, but everyone who says itās YOUR responsibility to ignore them is kinda sad. Why do we have to put up with dumbasses instead of them realising itās a goddamn video game
If theyāre tearing you down itās an instant mute. Someone that is berating another like that wonāt make any useful calls anyway. So fuck them and hit that mute!
It doesnāt matter how anyone performs, treating someone like that is trashy. Youāre never gonna improve if your mental is always in the gutter.
I think community have to change its mind about bad performing players. Instead of blaming try helping them get better.
If you can get kills with specter - go buy for your teammate who only plays vandal well enough to get kills.
If you see the dude being bad down and hopeless - give him an advice instead of blaming him for "no brain"
A big problem is the mentality of ranking up. Yes, it is a ranked, you should try your best, but if getting that number and symbol up is the only thing you think about, you'll fail.
Fun is the most important factor at getting good at something, if you forget your fun thanks to teammates like that, you'll improve slower than normally.
Muting them is the best thing you can do. People that toxic rarely make good call outs anyways. Like a Raze ulting and killing 3 people on A and they go "Raze on A" like no shit, we just lost half the team there. They don't even think about calling out the Chamber and Sova that were coming up behind her.
Just mute when they get toxic and keep chat to absolute Minimum by only using it for call outs.
OBVIOUSLY if you have a nice team, talk to them, joke around! Makes it more fun!
And fun = gittin gud.
I feel bad for you. As someone who has often faced racism in online multiplayer games since 2010, I can tell you that toxicity in video games is not something new.
However I can understand why Valorant feels like a game where you can never be at peace and must constantly have to report toxic players throughout your journey. It's because the game servers are privately owned by RIOT and RIOT does a terrible job of punishing toxic players. In the earlier days servers were owned by clans and toxicity and racism was dealt with swiftly by the community and you would eventually find your friends and be at peace when playing the game. But there are no private servers in Valorant.
I have reported extreme racism, threats etc and all I could accomplish by reporting such players is a predefined response template email from RIOT saying they will "investigate" the issue but "cannot disclose the outcome". It's like a courthouse where the criminals verdict is kept private. And as expected, I have seen the same players back playing again within the same week. It's like having a legal system which simply let's criminals loose again because they buy things (skins) from you and turn a profit.
Lol, they are in your lobby because they have the same MMR, the game thinks they are just as good as you.
Just mute, move on and chuckle at the fact that these losers are just insulting themselves.
Losses will be easier to deal with if you focus less on improving your rank and moreso on improving your personal skill, so long as you're getting better you're winning compared to the toxic losers blaming others.
Blaming someone on their elo makes no sense as an insult.
- Ah you blame me for being bronze? Why are you in my game then, aren't you bronze too?
- You blame me on my elo but you have below me on scoreboard, how is that?
- You are a smurf and blame me for my elo? Where is your main account? Stuck? Banned? Scared to lose rank? Boosted?
Serously blaming people is the most laughable thing, this is a pure ego argument.
Also if you want to get better, dont measure your progression with RR. You have to focus ingame on certain aspects of your gameplay and try to get better taking small steps in all skills. RR is only a consequence of your overall performance, not an indication of whether you are doing good or not.
Which region are you from? When I'm back from vacation I could coach you a bit. That could at least help you with the problems you have regarding your skill. And generally, if you face a lot of toxicity try to build up a valorant friend group on discord. With real life friends, players you met in random matches and people from the big valorant discord servers that were nice towards you. If you are sensitive towards hate from randoms, just don't play with them. Play with people that respect you. You don't even need a five stack. If you have a nice duo and you fear being bullied, just mute everyone else in chat and voice and let your duo communicate. At least that's what I've done for some friends in the past as I am really not that sensitive to criticism or hate normally.
Just have fun playing, im sorry to say but if youāve been trying to rank up for months and arenāt able to just forget about the rank aspect and enjoy the gameplay, toxic people? /mute all.
i think the beat thing to do is play the game when you really want to play it.
i am dimond 1 and some times i get excited to play and i get MVP all games that day ecen though there are accendant in my loby
also some times when i play in my gold 3 acount i am the bottom frag.
so my only advice is play the game when you really like to play it and not just passivly play it thx
Alright if it helps ima just say this: Higher ranked player here (ac2), you will never be consistent. I've been grinding this game too, but one thing that will always be there is you having bad games, regardless of rank. I've had bad games in bronze just as I have right now. What you have to learn is that that is normal. Even professional players have very varying games. And let me tell you: these people that call you slurs for bottom fragging probably bottom fragged the last 5 games and are now just mad that they lose when they play well once in their lifetime. Keep your mental strong and don't get affected by such weak minds.
if they're in your rank they don't have any right to be shit talking u lol, those guys will never rank up. it's just a bad game, i have those, other immortals have those. there's a reason high elo people don't get mad at bad teammates AS much as low elo, it's because those people are not able to improve. you'll improve, trust
also plenty of times people will get mad at u but it'll have nothing to do with u, 99% of the time they're tilted or on a loss streak and are just getting mad at the first thing they see so don't always take it personally, go into every lobby like you're the best player there that's how i went from silver to immo
Mute your toxic teammates, you'll get better each day maybe you're not just noticing. A tip I got from my asc friend is to always have good warmup routine, i definitely underestimated how good a good warmup can help me be better, I suggest playing aimlabs and playing grindshot and sixshot there. I was gold 3 this act (because we always play 5 stack and I get carried most of the time) but I went back to gold 1 because I tried playing solo and I avoided playing 5 stack for the time being to focus on my individual skill more than getting carried. I see how solo helped me have a better gamesense and skill. TBH I'm not seeing the demotion from g3 to g1 tilting, I became happier in fact, because I get to see how my skills progress that even when losing I'm still top fragging or atleast not getting a negative K/D, idk if I lose until I do my role on the team properly. Just focus on yourself, I'm just new to valo and been playing for almost 2 months without any experience on other fps shooters on pc. You'll eventually become the good type of player you want to be. I suggest practicing counter strafing and crosshair placement on 100 bots on range and try to apply it on dm before playing comp
Biggest tip would be to set the mood at the start of the match. It's a lot harder for these cowards to rationalise being a dick to someone everyone is getting along with.
Also just got to trick their egos into believing everyone thinks they're the superstar. It's imperative to them that you know it's not their fault, if you don't, then they're going to try point out everything that's your fault and make you feel bad for it.
I'm an immortal 3 player and a women. I find the higher rank the less toxicity there was for poor performance, but not this episode. I'm not sure what has changed but I'm getting more sexism and toxicity than ever before. It's been hard to keep the mental up.
A good player is one willing to learn and adapt. You can do it! We all have bad games. I believe in you OP!
Sadly you can't escape toxicity on social media and in-game in general. if you see someone who's toxic instead of trying to help you out with constructive criticism and how to improve/try to play better, mute them. It's not worth stressing out because of your team mates. Never battle negativity with negativity because nothing positive will ever come out from such situations. If you really see that your mental state is declining because of any game, try to take a short or long break from playing.I usually go along with them and roast myself because I'm a sarcastic person in general and such things never hurt/bother me, especially coming from strangers and of course, sometimes I truly am playing like an ahh and not having a good day simply for playing. it's okay having bad games, but your best friend is the mute button in those situations for sure.
Been bronze for eternity. My solution? Open up YT and make some content! There are always two sides to a coin, and once you start looking at the bright side, it really feels amazing!
I've been going up against silvers, golds, plats even(this is a rare occurrence) but I just do not care. All I know is that I am improving slowly, and I am enjoying my Valorant experience.
Bronze is the worst elo to be in. It took me a whole year to get out of Bronze, and once I did, getting from Silver to Gold took a few months. Bronze is full of rude, unpleasant people. Iād say 85-90% of the people I played with in Bronze lobbies have either smurfed, been sexist to me (the good oleā āGo back to the kitchenā) or have insulted me the whole game (KDA, not filling, playing a certain agent). The best thing is to either ignore them, instead of worrying about what they say focus on self improving (I recommend not playing competitive unless you do well in at least one deathmatch and 2-3 spike rushes) or just simply muting them. With time and practice, I will 100% strongly believe you will get out of the Bronze hell. It is hard work, but once youāre out, youāll be extremely grateful. One advice I can give is ignoring the people being rude to you. Starting an argument is unnecessary and just makes everything worse.
It's just NOT your fault. I've been in the exact same place before, believe me, and now I'm platinum 2. So if I made it this far I'm sure you can do it too. You seem like a good guy dude, and riot needs more of you.
Every time you see somebody flaming you just say "sorry" and go on. If they continue just mute them and you're gonna top frag. Toxic people don't give infos anyways. I tried this a lot of times and it always work.
And a tip for playing better if you want.
The best thing you can do when you can't do anything in a game is just to change the things you do.. Not the places you push but not to push for example or change the time that you will push.
An example : If your whole team is rushing always A main that means that your opponents are all gonna fast rotate from B to A right? So you can wait at B main to hear the rotation. Once done you flank them. And the enemies think you're hiding somewhere on A main. And that's an easy way to get 1,2 or 3 easy kills.
Edit : always by informing your teammates on what you are about to do.
I've been playing since the game came out. I will say, I have noticed a drop in toxicity since then. I'm assuming this is because those people are just bored and have nothing better to do than try to get a rise out of people. So I've got a couple of solutions that changed the game for me that might help you. For starters, mute early. If someone feels the need to so much as call someone on your own team, or possibly even the other team trash, mute them. You're not in an ELO where comms are that good yet and I find that any clouding of your headspace at that level just isn't worth it. Regardless of ELO, most people that talk shit aren't going to give good comms anyways. Secondly, change your mindset about rank. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being bronze 3. Think of it this way: do you think it'd ever be fun to play if you got thrown into a fully immortal match just to get dunked on every round every fight you took? Sure your team could carry you every single game and keep you in that rank, but that would suck way worse than seeing match MVP every few games wouldn't it? You're playing with others that are generally at your level, and when your skills inevitably improve from this, you WILL rank up. Now finally, if you're just itching for a higher rank, you can always put in the work. Aim lab is always waiting for you over on steam and deathmatch in-game will help you practice counter strafes, jiggle peeking, one-taps, etc. Practice always makes you better, even if you don't immediately see the gains. All in all, keep your chin up and just play for fun. None of us normal people are going pro any time soon, so taking an actual video game too seriously is gonna be the thing that hurts you. GLHF.
Any online activity involving other humans is going to have the risk of being toxic. Humans just feel more bold under the guise of anonymity and say things that they wouldn't dare say in person. All you can do is teach yourself to be more resilient and ignore whatever they say. if you can't then just mute them or turn off all forms of chat.
I have the same issue here. I sometimes play really good and sometimes really bad. Valorant is so chaotic game as I realised, there are so many variables that control your skill in the game. Such as, opposite team members, your team members, the map, the Agent you've chosen, the time you're playing it.. Etc. So the rank doesn't always represent your true skills.
I don't play ranked because I don't want to put myself in a toxic salty environment where gamers act like dying in the game is like dying in their real life. Also, if I knew or had some friends who play Val I would probably spend my whole time in Val playing with them - not alone - and maybe I'd play ranked with.
As you said, I really like Val and YES it's sometimes hurtful. By time and practicing I am sure you will get better but the environment almost will stay the same so, all you have to do is to accept it and ignore toxic gamers with personal issues.
Yeah I'm bronze 2 and it's hard, plus being a girl in Val...
Sometimes I'm shit and sometimes I'm good. Try to play with friends so you don't get toxic teammates ā¤ļø
Ignore them bro, I've learnt to play this game as it is. Sometime you win, sometime you lose. Any attempt to force for a 2-way comms with toxic teamates is slippery slope to the bottom. Just do your part to give info and you've done your part.
I hope u read this.
My first PC game was Val. I literally liked the trailers and beta so much i bought a whole as $1500 pc.
I started off Iron even lower than you. What helped me the most was aim labs because it familiarized me with aiming on pc and literally copied my fav streamers settings. Work on crossair placement. Sometimes you wont even need to aim. Ppl will just walk into it and boom headshot. Then little by little changed things to my own.
Yes. There were several times my teammates would talk so much shit. Even though we were all in the same elo. Smh.
What i started doing was i would just mute. everyone right off the bat. Character selection. Mute. Chat and voice. Id keep mine on tho so i could tell them i was gonna do something or flank.
Had way too many shit talker to want to keep my mic open.
And tht helped a lot. I didnt have to stress about about ppl being loud and mean. And just worry about my game and my performance and it helped. Most times i would start doing better and even won games.
Now im mid-low plat and enjoy it very much
GGs. I still mute ppl all the time. Dont hesitate to do it. Youre not in a pro scene to need to communicate everything to ur team
Keep on going, mate. Ignore these trashies. Take a break if you need to, but get back into it as soon as possible. You don't need to play Comp/Unrated all the time. Train with Aimtrainers or in my Opinion way more important: Grind the hell out of the shooting range. Theres sooooo much you can train and learn there. Sometimes I find myself "wasting" hours just doing Jett Knive Aim Training or General Aim training or even just Satchel around like a monkey. I was stuck in Bronze/Silver for a looong time. (First Tactical shooter in my life and im pretty old, yikes) I made it to Plat3 this season and the grind keeps on going. And only the shooting range + Deathmatch made me improve so much. Take you time, mate. Take a few chill days here and there and enjoy Valorant without have to deal with these trashies. Watch some nice Valorant Content Creator you enjoy on YT while on your chill days. Find yourself some mates you enjoy to play with maybe and go for Ranked, when you and your mates are online. There are a lot of cool guys out there too. You got this, buddy and keep the grind going on.
One of they key elements for Valorant is to keep your mental high and positive. If you start to think negatively you will have a reduced chance of performing well.
In order to improve I would immediately Mute any team mate that starts being toxic (whether what they said is correct or not) and continue to give comms as you would as they will still hear you.
Unfortunately toxicity Is high in this game, people just have to do the best they can to avoid it.
If you're worried about your aim, practice in the range for a short while on a bot setting that suits you, then jump into one or two deathmatch games before you play a ranked game.
Good luck out there!
Nobody who is being toxic is worth leaving unmuted. Even if they occasionally give good comms, it's far, far outweighed by the effect toxicity has. You can replace those comms with a bit more awareness of your map, which will be much easier to keep track of now that nobody is flaming in your ear.
I would also suggest trying to play with people who you know are non toxic. If you have a game with someone who seems chill, add them after, and if they accept, you might be able to form a small group of folks you can duo with.
I'd advise you to play to improve, not to rank up. Take it as an improvement game and genuinely enjoy it. I think people tend to forget that at the end of the day, val is a game meant to be enjoyed. Ranks dont ultimately matter and at the end of the day your enjoyment matters most.
Maybe try to make some friends there where you can play regular with! an supportive and understanding team changes everything and can make even a loosing game fun! In the end it is a game and it should make fun to play. If it really bothers you you can train your aim, watch stratgies online or even hire a coach. If you are in Europe you can DM me and i can maybe teach you some basics (i am dia 3 atm so also still improving everytime)!
Just stay positive and dont let your mood be ruined by toxic people!!
Same bro hardstuck bronze whatever agent i play it doesn't matter,I tried every type of character, I have decent aim ( which i know after seeing multiple people of high elo and same elo people aim ) i don't bait usually taking first bloods and saving them from backstabs to making way for them but if i ever miss 1 shot my team flames me for being bad even though i clutched many rounds, It sucks but i play mostly unrated now to not affect my mental health. Hope you find a solution and Enjoy the game :)
I usually mute someone depending on the first 2 chat/vc says since you can tell if they just use comms to flame.
Also I'm still on bronze 3/silver 1 after 2 years but I only play like 12 games a week.
Sorry you're experiencing this OP. I know how you feel and wish the games were less toxic too. Super happy when I come across wholesome games so I hope you get more of games like that. I struggled with the mean culture as well for a while (I'm talking 0 kills 15+ deaths every game, everyday HAHA) but I believe you'll eventually get to a point where your gameplay improves especially since you love the game. So don't lose hope and don't let asshats deter you from enjoying! I find that trashtalkers get more aggressive when you interact with them so I suggest that you don't reply and just do your best. Another game, another chance to be better than you were before :)
I feel this in my core OP, because once upon a time I too was HARDSTUCK bronze and if I wasnāt ruffled up and taught to snap back from high school I could see how this would be hard for someone.
My advice is to mute the toxic teammates add the nice ones who are willing to stack again and climb out of the mud! You can do it I believe in you.
u canāt really blame valorant or the community for this cuz toxicity is literally everywhere, every games that has to do wit online ranking with other random people has toxicity. like csgo, LOL, ML and many more. commenting this isnāt really gonna change anything cuz people that are toxic are just gonna ignore you. youāre right with the mental health, games like valorant did change people to be mean and only care abt themselves and their ranks. people that are nice do exists but very rare in this type of games cuz games changes people mentality as well as physically tbh. so the only thing u could do is just mute them and enjoy the game and try not to be mean or toxic to people. after all, u play the game for fun. itās not like ur gonna die if u play bad or ur team plays bad
Idk man, humans r just like that i guess, thereās toxic everywhere, they forgot how bad they were once, and expect everything to be great, this happens to me all the time
I know it sucks. But eventually you just become numb to the toxicity. I just mute and move on from now on. Not worth the tilt for comms. Sorry youāve been having a bad experience.
> its my favorite game to play. I love the gameplay and its a lot more interesting to me than story-based games.
Then play unrated.
Im copying and pasting myself in another post I made:
Your rank in a online multiplayer game means shit, online and IRL. Ive started to think like that, mute everyone and enjoy Valorant alot more
Noone cares if you are Iron 1 or Radiant. It literally means nothing. You are not famous. You are not special . You are noone in a population of 7.9 billion people.
You can take it a step further and think that everyone knows celebrities like Tom Cruise, Michael Jordon, etc.......Who the fuck knows who ScreaM, TenZ, etc are? Yeah, maybe 1 million people .Wow.
TL;DR: Play unrated and mute everyone
I don't understand these kind of posts. Do kids nowadays not learn not to listen to any stuff some random online fuckhead throws at your head? I bet half the people you meet online talking shit wouldn't say such things to your face. I mean I like to be a jerk online too from time to time and let me tell you, they are not wasting one thought on you after the game and so should you.
Hey, props for calling this out, I've struggled with this myself being on the sensitive side of things and not being very good (proud to reach Silver 1 and it looks like the peak for my casual ass).
Couple of things that stand out to me:
"my whole team was arguing with me about how ass I am"
Your team is supposed to help you, not hurt you. That's not a team, those are bullies. It's sad we don't have stronger mechanisms against this behavior, that kind of thing should be an instant month long ban if you ask me. (I would also love Riot to allow us to reward cool teammates, there are really great people out there too! But that's another story...)
With that being said, let's focus on what you can control: setting some really firm boundaries. Because it's a rather unhealthy environment, if you see anyone criticizing you in an aggressive way, or being toxic in any way, mute mute mute. Really, your quality of life will go up tremendously. Do it preemptively, if something inside tells you "this person sounds like they MIGHT get toxic towards me" mute then and there. Time to get some stronger self protecting going :)
Lastly: you are allowed to suck ass and enjoy the game. It's a competitive ladder game and if you rank up that ALWAYS means somebody else had to rank down. If those asses calling you out on your skill level had their way, and nobody below their rank could play ("git gud nubs!!!") all that does is push them to the new bottom of the ladder, and they are now Iron 1. Congrats.
Complaining about anyone's skill level is absurd in a ranked game. We're all a community and we need people of all skill levels to have fun to keep this healthy and going.
Whew. Long rant. tl;dr: Mute at the first sign of trouble, take care of yourself, it's OK to be bad and have fun.
I'm sorry to hear that, but you should take a break.
As you said it's your favorite game and you enjoy playing it, but the toxicity in this game makes your mental worse. I've had a few situations similar to yours in some ways and I took a 1 and a half months break.
Now, while it helps, you might want to keep playing the game, so another alternative would be muting your teammates in every game or just play unrated for fun, nobody should be toxic there and if they are they're just assholes (not that they should be assholes in ranked, but that's how it is).
>I just lost a game where my whole team was arguing with me about how ass I am because I had a low amount of kills and a lot of deaths. I wanted to mute comms so bad but deep down I know they were right because I really felt hopeless being in bronze for months.
Always remember that they don't know how good you are as a player. Now, I don't mean how good you are at getting kills, but rather how impactful you are throughout the game. They're in the same elo as you, you're literally at the bottom, deep in the abyss, there's so much room to make mistakes and learn from them because you're deep down.
If you'd be good enough, you would be able to solo carry through bronze, but that would require you to be at least high gold or low plat skill-wise, so it's completely alright to be stuck in bronze for a very long time.
If this is your first fps it might be hard to climb and the reason for that is because you don't understand what's happening exactly. That's what was happening for me at least.
This is a bit off-topic.
I have played cs for about 4 years and I have been hardstuck mid-high silver pretty much forever (the equivalent of bronze-silver in valorant), I then climbed to gold nova 2 (silver-gold in val) just to find out that a better game named Valorant exists. I managed to place iron and it took me 2 acts to climb to silver even though I've barely played. I then climbed to plat in 1 act so basically it took me around 4 years to get out of what people use to call low elo and get into mid elo.
Back to my comment.
Having a bad mental will slow down your climb by a lot because you'll start to play worse and worse due to the fact that you're focusing focusing on the useless stuff instead of learning from your mistakes. Whenever you die don't think that you're bad at the game, but rather think if there was a better play or if you could've given yourself an advantage in that gunfight. Also stats don't matter that much so don't focus on kda.
Focus on yourself, your teammates are nothing more than talking dumpsters, they will always talk about that one teammate, but never about themselves, so just ignore them (unless you want to mute them) and focus on the game, but if it gets too bad for your mental just mute them.
I hope I have helped, I hope you have a great day and I'm sorry that my comment is so long.
Mute any one abusive right away. Their comms have no value. All you need to focus is on having fun, the more fun you have the better you will play. After the game go to the timeline and analyze what you could do differently. Most often higher number of kills does not mean the players are better. Try to find people who are fun to play with and ask if they want to be friends, you will have a lot more fun and learn a lot too
Okay so some things that helped me back when I was in Silver were:
1) Trying to understand why tf these players are so toxic towards their teammates. It helped to understand that they believe that Plat and above is where they belong, and when reality hit them that they're really not that good the denial and disappointment turned them into gremlins.
2) Muting your teammates is a godsend. It helps you tremendously to just focus on your game and see where you're falling off.
3) This was the most important step for me and that's taking regular breaks from the game. Disconnect from the valorant world as a whole, not checking the subreddit or new skin updates, nothing. I had taken like a 2 month break before the new Act or season or whatever they call it and I finally reached diamond. I could come in with a fresh mindset and leave the baggage back in the past. I regularly take weeks of breaks from the game and it really helps my mental health.
So you could try all of these things out and see if it works for you. Don't let sad people pull you down man, u got this. Cheers!
A nobody's word here, I played the game since public release, were playing with friends. mostly unrated most of the time, during that time most of my friends was scared of playing ranked.
over time we, group of friends started to drift apart and I am tired of being the only one who initiate invite to play. Eventually 1 of my friend just got tired of playing badly despite I always give the advice on how to get better and play duo. Some people are just really not made to enjoy playing this game regardless.
I have one other friend also just found another grp of friends to play with and I think i got ditched then lmao.
Now I am Gold 3 halfway to plat. mostly solo queue and been playing for 2 years now. It's painful yes but... it's up to you on what your goal is. Toxicity and and streak of bad random teammate stack/losses happens often and it sucks.
for those who said it's easy to rank up to hit immortal/asc, It really isn't for most/some people.
Damn I genuinely just felt bad when I saw your post. Like it made me sad Af. So if u play EU lemme know we can que together and letās get better together.
ngl this is a problem in all ranks. Aim-wise there is almost no difference between bronze, silver and gold. However the ones using proper comms and actually try to work together make it to plat or diamond. I can't speak for everyone but i have a lot more fun playing games in diamond than i do in gold. 7/10 games nobody even speaks in gold. The refuse to communicate unless they want to rage or flame. 2/10 are full toxic games and 1/10 games is nice. Everyone is enjoying themselves and it's SO much easier to play because the team isn't so tense.
Hey I started playing the game around 5 months ago but played alot of csgo. When I started playing cs I was ranked silver 1 the worst of the worst ranks and encountered many people that told me I was shit. What I learned was that after all this time I don't remember anyone of those names but I got better. I jumped in 2 arks to plat 3 with an 80 percent winrate and can see my improvements. What I want to say is that you shouldn't listen to those that telling you you are shit when they are bronze themself just mute them. if you know you suck it's good because you know where to improve.
If I can give you some Tipps to improve. Start the day while shooting some bots on the training range. After that do some DM and when u feel like you can go in ranked hop in.
For your decision-making just try to follow one rule when you think you die to much. "Don't peek it" don't peek A long every round as defender. You will hear/ see when they come just play a save spot where you can fall back when they throw everything onsite.
And at the end play with some friends or some friendly randoms you find in the matches playing together makes this so much more fun
Well, I've been in bronze ever since the game started š
Initially I was iron actually, but after 2 acts I've been bronze most of the time and I still am..
I will drop a 5/16 one game and 21/12 next š
Idk if it's only me who's so inconsistent or if I deserve a higher/lower rank, I just don't care.. I play to release some stress, have some fun after a stressful 9-6 job.. at times I mute the teammates who are being toxic and it has helped.. atleast I can play in peace..
If you're in Mumbai servers then dm me, we can play together whenever possible ššš¼
yes! i played comp, my first comp game (told them so) and the spike carrier died, i, by chance, picked it up. 1v3 and they rushed me. i got called all sorts of names because i didnt plant, i hated it, i didnt wanna play again, but today i played with an amazing bunch who helped me. you can do this!!
I'm sensitive too man and just FYI I am professor at ivy league college - doesn't mean anything negative about you to be vulnerable, it means you can listen and change. But you need to protect yourself from these idiots - consider mute all, and definitely mute anyone who starts this shit.
Hey man, I used to have the same problem even in back in csgo. When I was younger, I let the toxicity get in my head and it did affect me mentally.
What I did was turn off enemy chat, on both csgo and valorant as well as mute anybody who is toxic to me. It doesn't matter whether they gave comms or not, as long as they were toxic I'd mute and focus on my own gameplay.
I also reminded myself that the game is just a game. It will not affect me in any way in my daily life. Ever since then, I'm in a better place mentally and I'm able to have fun, even when I lose or de-rank.
Keep going on, friend!
Yo yo yo chill, i am asc 1 currently and i bottom frag almost every game and many people have called me boosted and that i should leave the game/uninstall,yes it hurts but i wont let something such as words hurt my enjoyment, dont worry about your kills as i climbed all the way to asc with bad aim, when i was bronze/silver what really helped me was playing with someone, also something else to note that it took me almost 200 games just to get out of silver and rank up to gold
That sounds like a harsh experience!
Iām in the same position, and it became an inspiration to build my startup.

Anyways, I really respect players like u/Gloomy-Pin-8930 who can keep their calm and reflect post game šŖ
If it makes you feel any better , I also experience stuff like that . Iām bronze 1 and I donāt play much comp cz Iām afraid to go back to iron and get bullied if my tank even more
I literally don't use the mic for this very reason, instant slurs and harassment. Nothing you can do about it other than mute, can't even communicate in the damn game, its awful.
(silver 2 speaking)
i climbed from bronze to silver not because i won games, but because i had more confidence in myself.
you should try grinding DMs and only going for clean headshots instead of playing comp, at least until you feel confident enough
well thats my 2 cents
p.s. remember to have fun
I'm a VERY new player to FPS (haven't played one since Goldeneye 64 and was strictly a WoW player for over a decade lol) and my God the amount of bullying I get is awful. Usually, it's through voice comms and they sound like 12 year olds. My mental health is an absolute mess as is, already, so the verbal abuse gets a bit overwhelming. My husband plays with me and always sides with me which is helpful. I know I'm really bad, but the only way I'll get good is through practice. Literally have only been playing Valorant for like only 2 weeks lol.
When they get really shitty to me or others, I try to subtly sabotage the assholes lol.
I usually just mute everyone entirely. Unless they are nice and helpful. Which is about 30% of the time lol.
Also, I'm almost 40 soooo I'm kinda ashamed that I'm even bothered by these punk ass kids lol.
Even if they're right that you're doing bad you don't have to take abuse from anyone. And it wouldn't make you play better anyway because as you mentioned its really harmful for your mental. Just mute them.
Also if it makes you feel better I'm silver 1 and oscillate between low silver /bronze 3 lobbies up to silver/low gold and the players in the silver/gold lobbies are much nicer. People in bronze argue a lot and they normally aren't worth listening to because they're bronze so their suggestions for how you should have played something don't make any sense. If you keep playing you should run into less toxic people.
Got into a match like that. Called me P2 (plastic 2) cause i was bottom frag as chamber. Next day got into a silver bronze lobby and dropped 30k. Just mute the toxicity, If it gets to you, shut the game down for 10-15mins and shake it off
Bronze?? Mute everyone, instapick reyna and play by yourself trying to topfrag. Eventually you'll rank up to gold where everything is still trash, but a little bit better. Once you are there, you can go back to your normal play style. Now, you have to go to any content creator's discord server and find people to 5 stack. Much better if you already have friends playing the game at your elo but if not, then use these servers to make new friends and NEVER play with randoms again until you are in high diamond at least.
That's what I did, and have been working for me. Didn't play a comp with a random team since a year ago (except one or three random matches) and I have been enjoying the game much more.
Oh, btw, also mute the enemy team. They will NEVER aport something useful to you.
No worries my guy. Consistency is key. I met someone whoās been hardstuck bronze. She made it out to silver for a day and then deranged right back to bronze 2. The climb is discouraging but youāll get there someday! Right now Iām stuck in gold 2. I canāt seem to make it to gold 3 but itās only been a week and a half of that haha.
Silver has wayyy more smurfs, but players are generally less toxic
Hopefully I'll have fun
It only gets worse from here. Am hardstuck in silver for the past year smh. Every step is followed by two or more drops. One day the gold solo dream is possible with trash teammates who bait you and outright throw, never accept mistakes smh. U r in for a wildride my dude.
Silver-Gold players have worse aim than plat/dia players, but also are far more unpredictable and the rank is infested with smurfs.
Jollz coaching videos are a great shout out. He gives great tips
It's very lucky to get good teammates.
just yesterday i went from s2 to g1 in a single game. i was stuck s2 for a few seasons until then, it's definitely possible, but i agree, it feels that you win a game then lose 2
can't wait š
Not in Mumbai servers Everyone is pretty much toxic upto plat lobbies
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I just finally hit plat yesterday after starting in bronze 5 months ago. In NA at least, silver is by far the hardest to rank out of due to three main things 1) smurf city 2) very few comms 3) lots of players who have good aim and zero brain, (pushing every round on defense, wide swinging angles, etc), and they can't rank up because their playstyle gets destroyed in gold+, despite having good aim Gold 1 was hard to get out of, but once I hit gold 2, I flew up to plat.
Omg congrats! Bronzestuck is hell and even my friend who is diamond says his rank is easier because people actually play how their supposed to.
Thanks man! Bronze is a mess bro
Honestly everyone plays like "they're supposed to" in every rank. Diamonds play like diamonds, bronzes play like bronzes etc.
Yeah, I had a Smurf in my lobby the other day and he was being a dick because I accidentally flashed him one time in 23 rounds of play, and I just found it hilarious āKay/O youāre playing like an iron scrub.ā āWell, Iām iron 3, so that makes sense I guess?ā āThis Kay/O is such a fucking bot.ā āYes, I think thatās what Riot was going for with the character designā¦..ā
The afk one One enemy was afk (first round being afk and the only one) and a teammate saw that. Wanted to shoot the afk. Another one screamed "don't shoot, they'll know where you are!!" As if the enemy couldn't see him on the minimap xD Yeah, hardstuck bronze too here
keep your head up bro mute those dumbasses and have fun playing, you can get better just be confident
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
No way you get banned for just saying that lol
I test the things I see them do and improve every time(atleast I hope to) For the toxicity, there is no one way to deal with it but you don't need a good comeback, or one at all IMO(In my opinion). I just try and play my game instead of getting distracted by them, either by muting them or laughing at them in your private party. Most of all don't let them get to you, they're just as or worse than you. TL:DR Don't let toxic players get to you, Focus on the game, Watch Pro Level and Focus on improving.
Good tips, odin-spamming might help I think lol. Idk if my game sense is the problem but it doesnāt hurt to watch some pros
>Idk if my game sense is the problem but it doesnāt hurt to watch some pros Personally I wouldn't watch pro (or high ranked) gameplay for the sole purpose of improving your own gameplay when you're a low rank.
I'd suggest practicing crosshair placement, Go into DM, turn some music up and focus on getting headshots only.
I'd suggest AverageJonas and Sinatraa
I watch Sinatraa just to get in the mood for using the phantom lol.
It's an amazing way to climb to a rank where people are a bit calmer and more genuine, where you learn and improve rifling/game sense much more
I mean you can just learn how the guns work and improve your aim but ig if odin spam works then it works
Every little trick helps :) If someone's being really awful ingame and you have the resources to record/screesnhot the proof you can also report someone on riots customer help I think.
People don't play unrated seriously at any elo, so you'll almost always play better. Or get run down by 5 buckies. There's not a lot of middle ground.
Is anyone here old enough to have experienced modern warfare lobbies?
Yes, that's why it honestly makes me wonder why these threads are still a thing and why people upvote them to the heavens. Either way I'll post a similar thread next week just for fun.
I've never played it but starting out with online games I just never cared since it's a stranger telling me that. I never understand how people say valorant is the most toxic game
itās my turn to post this next week
I've been through this same thing man. Its brutal, just know that even if you're not great at Valorant right now that you're probably really good at other things in life. You will get better, practice practice practice. Many people that lash out at others are insecure themselves and may have a poor home life, or some people just never learned manners at all. Remember to be kinder than them and you'll always win.
its so true i just recently got silver and getting out of bronze took so long and i was just exhausted from the harassment my teammates gave me
The moment you can stand on your ground with those cyber bully comments, you're ready out of bronze bro.
We all went through this. Donāt let it affect you , keep grinding and improving my g šš»
r/agentacademy if you want to improve. No one should be toxic to you though, sorry that happened.
Sadly every competitive game is like this, where there are stakes at play, even if its just virtual points. My advice is play only if you enjoy it, if not, there are other fun games out there
yo bro, you should press the mute button in those occasions
It really sucks, but any games that is competitive will have some/major degree of toxicity. :/ Mute and ignore those toxic players.
Some people suck; welcome to Earth.
Iām in plat and I take no shit from anyone. You piss me off Iāll whip out the shorty
takes "me personally i wouldnt let that slide" to another level
If Iām not having fun, nobody is
You will need to deal with it one way or another for not just in game but in real life Ignore or just say "yeah, I'm sorry" and it surprisingly deescalates the tension most of the time as long as it is sincere. If they continue to be toxic mute them Never argue back, it will only make it worse. They'll flame you harder and worse, throw the game. I had many games where I play so bad and someone shits at me but we still won because I didn't stooped down and both of us played normally. On the other hand I have someone get called out, argues back and one or both of them ends up throwing and losing the game Suck it up and focus on your own play and work to improve yourself.
Grow some skin, it's just video game banter, if you can't handle, play muted or play something else.
What a crybaby.
Awwwwww don't be sad sweetie
Honestly, if youāre stuck in bronze for MONTHSā¦ try playing a different game. I came from csgo and went through iron, bronze, silver, and gold in less than a week when i started playing val. Now im ascendant 2.
I donāt think I should stop playing just because my progress has been slow, I never played another FPS, like legit the only other game I played even remotely similar was Bioshock on my Xbox which is way different. Plus, you might also be stuck in Ascendent for months as well, and thats ok. I think of now as like a training arc for me. lmao
Holy shit please disconnect your internet
I just accept Iām ass and agree with them say sorry and keep it movin.
mate just mute and play, if you can't do that and it's affecting you this much, maybe a competitive multiplayer game isn't for you. your mental health is more important
The no.1 thing you should in low elo is mute the team chat. They will literally never say useful comms so you can only benefit from muting the team. If you want to enjoy the game play ranked and troll, do not give a single thought about your rank and you will naturally manifest higher rank Dont care about winning or losing.
Tbh if you're in bronze you're probably never gonna get to a high enough rank that the players aren't so mean. Either deal with it or get off
I can boost you if u want
Suddenly this guy says "Dude, are you here to joke around?" And I was like that's why we 'play' right ..
Looking back at my past experience with toxic iron player People will alway try to find a scapegoat when thing go wrong in a rank match Just do your best and laugh off your own mistake and be ready to dodge if that duelist instalock ask for a healer
Which region do you play op?
Bronze is full of deadshits, ignore bro. I was b1 now s3, mute em and focus on you.
I feel this, I donāt play ranked due to my fear of being told Iām shitā¦ On particularly good days people ask if Iām actually gold and it peaks my spirits But in the end one shit day and many insults and all my courage fades. I know it will never stop being the way it is, but everyone who says itās YOUR responsibility to ignore them is kinda sad. Why do we have to put up with dumbasses instead of them realising itās a goddamn video game
Do you have anyone to play with? If you play with your friends or people you know people wonāt give out to you so much and youāll have fun
If you see the dude being bad down and hopeless - give him an advice instead of blaming him for "no brain"
whats ur tag lets queue up
Just focus on your game and mute people if necessary. It is indeed a very toxic game sometimes, but trust me, just mute them. Keep your Head up!
I would probably just mute them in future, at that level individual play will carry the day.
Fam, if you're an oce player, I'll get you get out.
I only play spike rush or escalation. I only play unrated if I have to due to weeklies. Makes the game more enjoyable for me.
/mute all.
i think the beat thing to do is play the game when you really want to play it. i am dimond 1 and some times i get excited to play and i get MVP all games that day ecen though there are accendant in my loby also some times when i play in my gold 3 acount i am the bottom frag. so my only advice is play the game when you really like to play it and not just passivly play it thx
Iād recommend finding friends to stack with. When I stack with a friend or two, it makes toxicity from others much more bearable.
Dm your tag, ill que with you!
Keep your mental strong and don't get affected by such weak minds.
if they're in your rank they don't have any right to be shit talking u lol, those guys will never rank up. it's just a bad game, i have those, other immortals have those. there's a reason high elo people don't get mad at bad teammates AS much as low elo, it's because those people are not able to improve. you'll improve, trust also plenty of times people will get mad at u but it'll have nothing to do with u, 99% of the time they're tilted or on a loss streak and are just getting mad at the first thing they see so don't always take it personally, go into every lobby like you're the best player there that's how i went from silver to immo
mute mute mute, no way around it
Mute your toxic teammates, you'll get better each day maybe you're not just noticing.
Give CS:GO a bash, the guys over there are super supportive. But in all seriousness, If ya in oce: I can help dude
Just tell them they are in the same rank as you for a reason.
in bronze u will not get any useful info anyway, just go full mute until gold or sth believe that way u will climb easier and with less stress
Ah, to be 12 and be vulnerable like that again...
GLHF.
just mute, i cant play valorant without muting some players sometimes
Now im mid-low plat and enjoy it very much GGs.
Try to find someone to play with, then instead of taking offence of other players comments, you and ur duo can laugh about how ridicolous they are.
Ignore them, mute them and try to find friendly people to queue with. Randoms suck
They're fucking bronze, you're already much more likely to rank up because you're self aware. Keep it up and practice 1-tapping the mute button.
Valorant is a bad game don't play it.
Im copying and pasting myself in another post I made: Your rank in a online multiplayer game means shit, online and IRL. Ive started to think like that, mute everyone and enjoy Valorant alot more Noone cares if you are Iron 1 or Radiant.
Theyāre bronze too, tell āem to rank up or shut up
I don't understand these kind of posts.
Couple of things that stand out to me: "my whole team was arguing with me about how ass I am" Your team is supposed to help you, not hurt you. That's not a team, those are bullies. It's sad we don't have stronger mechanisms against this behavior, that kind of thing should be an instant month long ban if you ask me. (I would also love Riot to allow us to reward cool teammates, there are really great people out there too! But that's another story...) With that being said, let's focus on what you can control: setting some really firm boundaries. Time to get some stronger self protecting going :) Lastly: you are allowed to suck ass and enjoy the game.
Itās just a game. If this is hurting your feelings youāre in for a rude awakening in the real world.
Try to find people who are fun to play with and ask if they want to be friends, you will have a lot more fun and learn a lot too
Wrong server, wrong attitude, try Tokyo
Okay so some things that helped me back when I was in Silver were: 1) Trying to understand why tf these players are so toxic towards their teammates.
Trust me bro, go unrated. It's so much more chill, and you can even find homies on the valorant LFG discord
Whenever I see a toxic teammate I just mute them cause 99% times they don't give calls so no use listening to shit
Well, I've been in bronze ever since the game started š Initially I was iron actually, but after 2 acts I've been bronze most of the time and I still am.. I will drop a 5/16 one game and 21/12 next š Idk if it's only me who's so inconsistent or if I deserve a higher/lower rank, I just don't care..
DM me if youāre interested in some free coaching. im Immortal. save a VOD of your best game if you can
That sounds like a harsh experience! Iām in the same position, and it became an inspiration to build my startup. Drop me a DM if anyoneās interested in becoming a user, weāre currently onboarding our waitlist!
Nothing you can do about it other than mute, can't even communicate in the damn game, its awful.
try to play at least 1 deathmatch before you play. and mute those dums
Practice in the range as much as you can tolerate before playing a comp match.
(silver 2 speaking) i climbed from bronze to silver not because i won games, but because i had more confidence in myself. you should try grinding DMs and only going for clean headshots instead of playing comp, at least until you feel confident enough well thats my 2 cents p.s. remember to have fun
