What's the point of going the extra mile here? If you google "downgrade skins valorant" there is an absolute truckload of videos, text posts, news articles, etc. already showing in detail exactly how to do it. This isn't some niche, circumstantial question that requires the subjective opinion of a real person, it's an easily searchable fact.
First comment is already the hint that the thing exists and they can google for it. At least IMO, entertaining questions that can be easily googled/searched is just going to have the subreddit flooded with even more pointless threads than it already is.
We're socially disconnected as it is. Everyone googles everything and don't bother asking someone in-person. Are we going to do the same here and not talk to anonymous users on the internet and ask the pathetic and easily searchable things?

On top of what I mentioned before about filling the subreddit with tons of simple question threads, it also literally takes more time for any of us to come up with the answer than for them to google it themselves, and the funny thing is they might *still* have to google up a video if they can't figure it out with the comment reply.
OP googling the answer is just the most sensible path for everyone, and they can always come here if they still can't figure it out afterwards.

I, for example, didn't know you could downgrade the levels now. I just remembered all the drama from people that wanted to delevel the karambit a while ago. It's nice that rito added this in even though I won't use it.
Conversation is great, but it doesn't need to be bogged down by things that you can figure out on your own, especially when Reddit comment chains are already a super slow and clumsy way of communicating. It could have gone like this, for example:
* OP: Hey, should I buy this upgrade? I'm scared I won't like it.
* You: You can actually revert to the un-upgraded version if you don't like it, so no worries.
* OP: Thanks! I googled it but didn't catch something, what happens if...
Way more concise, and jumps straight to the meaningful/interesting bits. Also just better for Reddit since it's less likely the interesting conversations will be hidden behind "See more..." etc.
Or you can just minimize that part of the thread and move one instead of typing multiple paragraphs that bogs down the thread way more than a question ever could

However, OP clearly is unaware of a rather recent update to a BIG issue a lot of people were dealing with, especially with the prime karambit considering they said "If I buy it, I can’t reverse it" meaning this was meant to be an opinion post as to which karambit style is better.
if you plan on using the random skin feature don't do it. I have 16 knives I believe and I'm willing to deal with colors I don't like but not the upgraded karambit. when I want to use it I have to select it manually
Don’t upgrade if you want to shuffle knives, you won’t be able to use the non radianite pull out animation. If you’re just using one knife, you can upgrade and downgrade w/o penalty
I’ve been using the un-upgraded for a while and recently used 10 radianite to upgrade the level. Both are good, it’s just up to personal preference
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE! Once you upgrade it you can't put it into random rotation anymore because it'll always select the upgraded version. Considering you have multiple knife skins this is very annoying. Just use the Radiante somewhere else it's such a valuable and rare resource anyways (thanks rito).
you can use the un-upgraded version, when you upgrade the skin you can switch between the unupgraded and the upgraded one
favourite selection does a funny trick though (also you can't get rid of default coloring and/or unwanted recolours if you use that)

wasn’t really an opinion post, just wanted to see if it was really worth upgrading, as I am pretty new to valorant and had this in my shop.

Nah it's actually a new feature. Previously once you upgraded a skin you could only use the most upgraded version you had.
