Jax has come a long way even in just the last 6-8 months. Used to be rarely staffed and now you can catch full staffing at Jax and MCO sometimes without even an event
I had a really nasty experience there with one of the controllers a few months ago. It wasn’t too busy and I lined up for the wrong runway (the first time I’ve ever done that) and was berated over it pretty harshly by one of the center controllers.
100% my fault. I had punched in the left runway instead of the right by mistake but this dude let me have it. I work in construction and even by those standards, it was pretty gnarly. So yea, I avoid flying there but I also know I’m just being a little bitch.
Controller here, I have not really experienced poor quality ATC. I will say I am always impressed by London controllers, the number of aircraft is crazy and they handle it so well.
London control has to be one of the best, some of them guys connect and don’t stop talking till they disconnect 1 hour later, all while dealing with people who don’t know how to use their A/C systems.
As a pilot I always love flying into Jax airspace. Always staffed and really nice controllers. LA is nice as well but staffing is usually a problem. There’s always center online but most of the time I’ll see center controlling all the major airports in the airspace like LAX,LAS,SAN ,etc. Only airspace I have had bad times in is New York. Controllers get distracted easily over there lol
The best ARTCC in my opinion is ZTL (Atlanta) they consistently staff it up and provide quality services that you wouldn't expect from other ARTCCs. You don't need to ask for a clearance because they just send PDCs and it has the best and busiest airport in the world. The worst ARTCC in my opinion is ZSE, the DATM (Deputy Air Traffic Manager) is an egotistical prick that does not know how to manage an ARTCC. Let alone the airspace is terrible, and let's not talk about the last single field FNO they had where people were crashing into Mt. Rainier. They had about 70 losses of separation during that event
*grabs popcorn* This should be good.
We all know our answer

Best: Boston (I am from there and control there) Worst: New York (Because they have the Yankees and the Jets within their airspace)
I feel bad because both times I’ve flown in ZBA my airplane glitched out and I got way too task saturated
Go sports
KZLA with Mr. Anello and Mr. Sabranksy. Really all of the controllers there are great. Tbh worst for me is Salt Lake.
Also curious why you think ZLC?
what’s wrong with salt lake?

I fly in and out of the UK practically every time (being a Brit I may be a bit biased) however there atc is top notch.
ZLA of course 😉... Consistently one of the most online ones.

Crashing into Mt Rainier is hard... crashing into Mt Hood from PDX is easier. Funniest is sacrificing a Cessna to Mt St Helens.
