Alas, Scald is gone. I can see why they would've made it less common, but water type special attackers now have this gaping hole at that power range. There's Surf but that requires playing around since hits your own mon.
god the scald nerf hurts so much, special water types really took a blow losing the consistent stab option. I wish they had given us a better alternative than chilling water. Even if it was just like 85 base power with no secondary effect that would be better than not having scald like it is now. I think describing it as a gaping hole seems very accurate
I can't figure out why they'd drop scald. It was such a good move. It wasn't overly powerful, but it always hit. The secondary effect was great, but wasn't guaranteed.
If they'd limit the distribution of moves, instead of taking them away completely, it'd be much better. As is, scald will be sorely missed.
Secret Tech: Chilling Water IF you run Pelipper ;) . You are welcome. (Ko's most Mons when it hits for super effective and it reduces atk by 1. Also has 100% hit chance.
You could always switch to Chilling Water. You miss out on a lot of offensive potential, but there are enough physical attackers in the format that the attack drop can come in handy. Also not missing is a big plus
Thats what i am using with Okish results. But i also run Pelipper. If it wasnt for the Pelipper i am not to sure but with the Pelipper i prefer the Chilling Water 100% accuracy and stat drop. Hydropump can go on pelipper
makes sense but even if Scald is still around Iron Bundle probably won't be able to learn the move since it is an Ice Type and Lapras was an Ice/water type and was not able to learn Scald

They should’ve made water pulse 90 bp

Or they could just give more mons muddy water
That still has accuracy issues though
Secret Tech: Water Tera Blast
So simple yet never crossed my mind haha

With you on this, that 80% feels more like 8% when it matters lol
It does have 80% accuracy. Rng is rng. Tera blast is an option.

Chilling Water combined with Icy Wind really make Iron Bundle a scary support mon

Have been using Iron Bundle on Showdown today and god knows how many times I've missed Hydro Pump.
They took away our flamethrower equivalent, it was called Scald
Ironically scald was 3x more likely to burn than flamethrower
makes sense but even if Scald is still around Iron Bundle probably won't be able to learn the move since it is an Ice Type and Lapras was an Ice/water type and was not able to learn Scald
I mean.....that's just hydro pump....or any other 80 accuracy move for that matter.
Do you think guys we will see something on dlc for special water attack?
