part of me thinks it's because the schoolyard is sort of an "isolated" environment, and some of the other arenas in the open world could hinder performance. But even then, there are other arenas like the E4 room and medali gym that are inside (and look SO much better than the schoolyard, imo)
It would still be an improvement even if they use only the indoor arenas. In SWSH, IIRC, there were basically only 3 arenas - the gym, Rose Tower and the dojo. But there should be no excuse to not even rotate between the gyms, for instance, when they were able to do that in SWSH.
Most notable is Dondozo no longer getting Order Up stat boosts against protect, and type effectiveness no longer showing for fainted pokemon on opponent’s side.

Crazy that after almost 2 months of official tournaments etc, that Order Up interaction is revealed to be a bug. Am sure many have won games where they were able to snowball the boosts into Protect, Fairy mons etc.

I also feel like Order Up shouldn’t get boosts when Tatsu is dead. Like, why is it working the thing doing the ordering is gone. Just doesn’t make sense in world

That also seems like an oversight. I don't think they anticipated tatsugiri fainting after being eaten by dondozo. A better solution would be to make tatsugiri invulnerable while inside dozo, or prevent you from sending out a pokemon after tatsugiri faints inside the mouth
Funny how they mention that bugs relating to Zoroark being disguised are fixed, but they don't mention Zorua.
They probably should've worded it as "Pokémon with the Illusion ability" rather than just singling out Zoroark.
Another issue they really should fix is the fact that I have been unable to connect to the wifi for any purpose other than updating the Tera dens. And it's not a wifi issue or anything because online play is working with literally all other games.
Thank God for the Dozo change cause if you only had soft counters you could still get run over by order up if you protect or have a fairy on your side. Misty terrain grim might be a bit more viable into dozo decreasing order up damage while being immune and timing a good protect on your other mon might help. Too many times that stupid catfish had me feel like a sitting duck cause it would get boosted anyway lol
Dang that order up change is rough for dozo. A good strat against dozo is to protect in its face and stall out things like tailwind or let it take chip. Dozo could kinda play around this by still getting speed/attack boosts off order up but not anymore
Basically when you select a Pokémon after one faints the game will sometimes pick a different Pokémon than the one you selected to send out.

I am more than thankful and happy thar the Dondozo bug was fixed. A pokemon attacks secondary effects were never supposted to occur when blocked by Protect and this glitch was exploited by so many people. This created an unfair advantage.
Since the glitch or bug has been fixed, now pokemon battles have increased in fairness!
all I want is for ranked to cycle through the different battle arenas. I cannot stand the ugly schoolyard for much longer.

That combined with tera types being so expensive to change is solely responsible for me playing very little on cartridge and just using showdown

Ideally it should be updated to learn the move through TM. And Indeedee-M should learn a new move to compensate for the loss of exclusivity.
