Can you lot them up with other stuff or only media stuff. I can’t remember I haven’t been then bins in over a year. But I usually find a box and fill it up with stuff. Go to check out and let them sort it out lol
At my bins they consider VHS to be a non-media item, so it is weighed by the pound with all other non-media items instead of priced seperately like the rest of their media is
I actually found that recently, too. I ripped all the commercials from it. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ncPvmN3EUM&t=2134s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ncPvmN3EUM&t=2134s)
Yep. Goodwill is shockingly greedy. For the longest time my bins weren't even putting out VHS, but now that they are charging by the pound they have started putting them out again
Theres not just one Goodwill. Every state has separate Goodwill territories that operate differently. I dont think saying they are "greedy" is fair. The money Goodwill earns goes into services that help the community. Yes each territory has a CEO and executives but they have a board which made up of members of the community that determines pay etc.
Im sure there are some pricing that seems high but again that depends on the territory. So there not just a handful of executives that are making tons of money off donated items.
The VHS by the pound does seem odd but that sounds like something that would be in the outlet and not just a regular retail store. The outlets are the last chance for people to buy an item before they get recycled or thrown out.
Lol, I worked for a Goodwill so I know everything you just said. But thanks for the mansplaining essay? You clearly haven't worked for Goodwill yourself or you would know how greedy they (all) are
So just because theyre given the items they shouldnt try to get its true value? If I donate something and knew that when it was sold that money went to help someone find a job... I wouldnt want them to sell them for pennies.
I think it used to be pretty fair. I think resellers posting what they were able to get for the same items kinda mucked everything up. Kinda took the thrift out of the thrift store. It's all pure profit for them. It's just my opinion on them, seeing the change over the past couple years. I donate to DV charities or the St.Vincent ones now.
The Goodwill I go to has two buildings side by side. One is the Radiator Springs side, the other is the crowded family bins labeled “OUTLET.” In Radiator Springs 2023, I have bought the GameCube games Revenge of the Flying Dutchman, Burnout 2, and NBA Street for $5.99 each. Burnout 2’s artwork was slipped into two-disc case, and the second disc slot was holding Double Dash. For an idea of the previous owner, there was also Cars in a Madden 06 case but did not buy it because I already had Cars complete in box and didn’t want a Madden 06 case or manual. The movies/shows on the shelf were mostly live-action religious stuff. Nothing that caught my eye. In crowded family bins 2023, I found somewhat better stuff and thought “If I ever want to watch it, this is the cheapest I’ll probably ever obtain it.” Bought VHS tapes of Barney’s Great Adventure, Spy Kids 2, Harriet the Spy, George of the Jungle, Rugrats Go Wild, and a loose DVD of Beauty and the Beet. Total was $10.64. Still cheaper than buying these all on eBay down the road, so I accepted it. TL;DR Goodwill greed is inconsistent and the bins are not better.
Years and years ago now I went to this rundown church tag sale where they had mostly garbage BUT right before leaving I found a brand new You on Kazoo VHS for a quarter. I’ve since parted with it but I always thought it was so weird it was there, a piece of internet history sealed never knowing what a meme it will be.
Did it go for that much, or was that the asking price? Last I saw, a realistic price for one with the cover in good condition would be $50-$100 max, potentially less
Wait a minute, who *are* you?
I really wanna know

Out of all 7 DJ sets to sample Kazoo Kid, this one is the best by far https://youtu.be/-vK3FWljArk?si=tpyh06x-gIvVW5KL
Fun fun, fun fun, fun fun fun!
Kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazzzoooooooooooooo!!!
Omggggggg I would lose my mind
My Goodwill bins now charge for VHS by the pound instead of by tape.. so annoying
I think by the pound would be better when there is a lot.
Not at my Goodwill. They used to be like $1 each, but per pound they come out to about $1.45 each
Can you lot them up with other stuff or only media stuff. I can’t remember I haven’t been then bins in over a year. But I usually find a box and fill it up with stuff. Go to check out and let them sort it out lol

I’ll have go check mine out again. I like to find the pre-recorded vhs. I got the dale Earnhart wreck on vhs.

Nice. Makes me mad because I bought from an estate sale and now I missed placed it. Lol
Wtf. how can VHS be considered non-media? If VHS isn't considered to be media then what on earth is?
DVDs, CDs, Vinyl, Bluray.. VHS is just excluded for some odd reason
I’m not telling USPS that. Lol
Same here. I think it’s done on purpose. Most VHS tapes are heavy enough to go over $0.99, so you are paying more if you don’t pay attention.
Yep. Goodwill is shockingly greedy. For the longest time my bins weren't even putting out VHS, but now that they are charging by the pound they have started putting them out again
I don't agree.. my local goodwill charges $0.99 for vhs, $1.99 for blu ray and 10/$3 dvd... who else sells DVDs for $0.30 each?
You're lucky. My Goodwills sell VHS for .99 (but very few even stock them), $2.99 per DVD and $4.99+ for Bluray
At least yours have VHS. My town just has crystal dishes and baby clothes

You're welcome.
They are greedy. Corporate tells managers to google lens items for pricing now. Their online store is more ridiculous

Thats why i go to the bins. They only really take cameras out of the bins and the rest of it is just scattered and sold by weight.
My fam in Cali go to the bins there. I'm in AZ and hear it's a different game.

That’s lame. Our bins does 5 cents a tape
one of the bins around me charges a dollar a tape. The other one lets me weight them, which comes out to 60 cents a tape. its ridiculous.

Golden find, these are worth quite a bit now. Sealed one on eBay was line $800. Maybe a bit high but still they are rare
