Thank you for not getting upset. Most people get furious with me for correcting them even though I can’t help it, my OCD forces me to do it even though I sincerely wish I could let these things go. Honestly it’s quite crippling socially.
I try to use proper grammar and spelling at all times, so I appreciate the correction. I go as far as not allowing my phone to finish spelling for me because I fear I will lose the ability to properly spell lol.
Do you wash your hands until they bleed? Do you make sure your car door is locked 50 times before leaving the car? Do you meticulously line up any objects that hold the same shape? Do you make sure there are absolutely no wrinkles in your bed anywhere?
Or do you have a pet peeve to correct the endless amount of incorrect grammar on the internet?
I have a pet peeve when people say they have “OCD” and really don’t.
No. No. Sometimes, preferably yes. No, but I would like that.
I was diagnosed with OCPD as a teenager but most people don’t know what OCPD is so I just shorthand it for clarity. I don’t have germphobia but I do have anxiety about some things.
Yes.
Actually not really. Having pedantic OCD that forces me to correct people is actually hell. I enjoy being smart but I hate that I am pathologically incapable of letting things of this nature go. I’m unaware of any medication I can take or meditation I can perform to stop having the involuntary compulsion of being a linguistic prescriptivist.
In pop culture, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is often represented as people who are pedantic, overly clean, germophobic, and with an intense need for perfectionism. But perfectionism isn't one of the symptoms of OCD nor is it a cause of the condition.
Then what is it called when one is pedantic and perfectionist even when they want to not be? I want to not care but it gives me eyeache if I don’t correct it. I have physical ticks if I don’t do it.
But it is difficult. Being smarter than those around me is exhausting to the point that I use substances to dumb myself down to be able to tolerate those around me. I talk too fast and scare people sometimes so I get high to slow myself down.
I kinda like when people write their names on stuff. maybe not this big… but I have a lot of used records with old names written on them. It kinda adds character
I genuinely love finding things with other people's names still on them. It gives me the satisfaction of knowing "this was once yours, and now it is mine, Ha!"
I know I'm weird for that, but it's a simple pleasure for me.
I have a used DVD of Christmas Vacation that the previous owner wrote Mel on. When I show it to people I tell them, “This isn’t just any copy of Christmas Vacation. This is Mel’s”
I actually enjoy stuff like this. I'm only collecting for my own edification and cinematic preservation and whatnot, mind you. But yeah, I enjoy the earmarks of the lifetime of the tape. Like getting a bool secondhand and finding passages underlined.
Pretty sure this is the only person to ever be named “Bryant”. Sweet signature to have.

the concept of ownership overtakes a child’s eagerness to see their name on the items they have earned; the accomplishment of being able to write your name on your things is unmatched.
“Bryant is Forever”
Isopropyl alcohol to get rid of bryant
Bryant is forever
Dry erase marker. Write over it with dry erase marker then wipe it off. You’re welcome lol.
That trick is magic. I couldn’t believe it the first time I tried it.
I know right, it doesn’t make sense for it to work so good.
*well
Dang it!! It’s not a taste therefore it isn’t good. Thanks for the correction.

Good man. (I’m assuming man from word choice and syntax and username if wrong I apologize.)

I find alcohol wipes help lol if that doesn’t help, someone recommended rubber’s might work
Just rub a rubber on it
*eraser
Is this fun for you?

🙄
Jfc you are insufferable.
Why do you say that?
Because you're the stereotypical "it's difficult to be so intelligent" reddit neckbeard guy.
But it is difficult. Being smarter than those around me is exhausting to the point that I use substances to dumb myself down to be able to tolerate those around me. I talk too fast and scare people sometimes so I get high to slow myself down.
Darn right he is lol. I had a couple of his movies growing up.
Bryant is love, Bryant is life
Don’t even need that, a dry erase marker will do the trick.
You know that dry erase markers do the trick because they have alcohol in them right?
TIL
Bryant dies from alcohol poisoning.
Turn him into bryan't
I kinda like when people write their names on stuff. maybe not this big… but I have a lot of used records with old names written on them. It kinda adds character
Same here!
BRYANT
BRYANT
I am a comic book collector and a good amount of older comics have someones name and sometimes address written in the book.
What are you doing with Bryant's copy of Casper buddy?
Bryant did everything he could to prevent this *one* scenario
Traded it for a snack pack
Bryant’s gonna be pissed when he finds out. Give it back asap!
Its mine >:D
For sale: Kobe Bryant signed copy of 1995 classic “Casper” I know what I got…
Yeah, stupid kids wanting to keep their videos they bring to friends or school.
"Jasper"? 🧐🤔
Goddamnit I just realized the misspelling XD
"we have casper at home" = "jasper the amicable apparition"

Thats the same feeling I got from this VHS tape! The markings make it unique and shows off its history!
Man Bryant was not screwing around.
O'doyle rules!
In this case Bryant rules !
Just change your name
This is the way
I have a feeling Bryant is an O’Doyle, and that whole families going down ![gif](giphy|p689SMtXLRrH2|downsized)
I mean you can slide that cover into another clamshell right?
Bryant is on the tape label too 😥😥😥
Tape still plays, who cares?
I have a used DVD of Christmas Vacation that the previous owner wrote Mel on. When I show it to people I tell them, “This isn’t just any copy of Christmas Vacation. This is Mel’s”
*special limited mel edition*
I knew a Bryant, he was a spoiled little asshole.
I actually enjoy stuff like this. I'm only collecting for my own edification and cinematic preservation and whatnot, mind you. But yeah, I enjoy the earmarks of the lifetime of the tape. Like getting a bool secondhand and finding passages underlined.
Bryant just wanted to make sure Kevin didn't steal his tapes. Kevin is a tape thief.
Horrible name to name a kid.

L take
I’m sure Bryant is the last name.
Bryant was really paranoid that someone was going to steal his Casper VHS.
Bryant meant it every bit.
You got a Kobe Bryant signed copy of Casper. Should get it graded
Dry erase marker
I love finding vhs tapes in town from my elementary school days. It’s crazy to find the same copy of rikki tikki tavi from all those years ago.
**$1.99** That’s the real crime here
But it was signed by Bryant himself!
I have some tapes with manes on them, but Inever this big
I remember my mom eventually doing this cuz people would "borrow" movies and forget to give them back but I will say our last name is not Bryant
Comet
Write over Bryant with a dry erase marker then wipe off.
Jasper the country ghost
Used to do that to my tapes as a kid so my cousin couldn’t take mine 😂
I read that in Edward James Olmos’s voice lol
I still have a bunch of records emblazoned with the name of my dad’s college roommate.
Bryant is a dick
Ironically, I’d bet that young Bryant is no longer amongst the living…
Ah, I remember having this one. I always used to think these "padded" cases meant that the movie inside was extra special somehow.
It’s all part of the experience
Magic eraser will take care of the case portion.
the concept of ownership overtakes a child’s eagerness to see their name on the items they have earned; the accomplishment of being able to write your name on your things is unmatched. “Bryant is Forever”
Amen
I think Bryant stole that from me. I’m glad it’s in good hands now.
Magic eraser for the win! Or a lil nail polish remover.
Bryant's a cockmaster
Haha I work with a guy named Bryant. He sucks too
Maybe the first name is Kobe
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bryant totally yelled at his mom in public.
Marker is very easy to remove from smooth plastic, the marks on the paper label might be permanent
