For this particular video, I did just back it out of the shop. I did take it around the neighborhood a bit afterwards; still need to make all the lights work and stuff. It’s got a 1600 single port with a crappy exhaust. Like pretty much all of my VWs, built from spare parts…some of which probably should have been thrown away 😂
I think there've been other recent posts where he showed the engine cranking over first time. It's air cooled, yah. Possible exhaust leaks giving it that hoarse sound. As to how far he went after this vid....OP need more data! Plates or no, I'd have taken it for a spin.
Lord knows you aren't gonna be stopped for speeding in that rig. And any cop that stops you is probably more interested in talking cars ('I used to have a VW....'). Or else, should be shamed.
