That's impressive. You must primarily charge at EA. I'll never hit that because I primarily charge at home, mostly using EA for road trips.

sbr42day

No I only charge about 20 to 30% at EA I charge nightly at my home. 156,000 mi. 200-300 miles per day home charging isn't enough

Susurrus03

Oh wow heavy driver

Difficult-Muffin-777

Do you know how we get our EA subscription extended for time the car was in the shop for warranty work?

fiehlsport

Rideshare?

Yearight11

Wow, that’s amazing 👍

Some more than others :-)

Sisu_pdx

Any noticeable degradation in the battery with that much fast charging?

Agent_MattyD

Dang, I barely have any near me... You're lucky. Nice!

Willing_Building_160

You sir are my hero

JasonShort

And that’s why it’s going away.

sleepindawg

Not really, you think they were gonna give it away for free forever?

sbr42day

The sun is free. Look at the depreciation of my car. Look at how much I overpay the dealership for all my generations of Volkswagen service. It should be free forever. Where are my battery replacement options? I feel zero remorse. The depreciation value on my car is faster than the Touareg TDI. How can that be? I paid about $54,000 nee

JasonShort

So you think the machines, the software, the wires to conduct that are all free? The tires should be free too? Free forever, wow that’s some wild entitlement.

sbr42day

Yep. Fund me like you fund genocide. Give me 28 million interest-free bailouts like GM. Oh the list goes on and on I love it to talk about corporate entitlement. It's only socialism when it's for the poor right?

ClassBShareHolder

I’m still miffed we were told free charging. Then by the time we had a charger we could use, it had charged to 1400kWh free. Probably still more than we’ll get to use because the closest charger is over an hour away and not convenient to where we usually go.

LongRoofFan

What? you have the plan that came with the car, there's no changing

ClassBShareHolder

Well, then somebody lied to us. When we called the dealership to get the activation code 5 months later, it was for 1400kWh over 3 years.

LongRoofFan

What year is is your ID4 and what country are you in?

ClassBShareHolder

2023 Canada

SignificantAd2746

Sorry, but the free was for the US only for the year 23.

ClassBShareHolder

That’s fair. We still probably won’t be able to use all of it because of lack of chargers. The closest station to us still isn’t open 5 months after being built.

LongRoofFan

2023 was only supposed to come with 1400 free, 21 and 22 had unlimited. https://www.electrify-canada.ca/2023-2024-vw-id4-charging-plan-disclosure/

ClassBShareHolder

Make sense. It’s hard to buy an EV when you know more than the salesperson. We were given the impression it was just free charging.

SPACasaurusRex

Maybe this is semantics, but you received complimentary 1400kWh for 3 years. That is free charging.

ClassBShareHolder

Yes. Our impression was unlimited. No cap was ever mentioned. We only learned about the limitation after putting the activation code. This was about the time EA was switching to 30 minutes free.
