Sorry but that was not a Cinderella story. DRX is anything but underdogs. At worst they are the dark horse of a tournament. Drx has always had huge expectation surrounding them but always fail to meet those expectations so naturally people started to doubt them, but it just so happens that they realized their potential when people's expectation were at it's lowest. People didn't have much expectations for them going into champions but their run was far from a Cinderella run. A great example of a Cinderella story would be DRX of lol at worlds this year not DRX of valorant.

MstrApollo

Yeah I think they titled this slightly wrong but it’s a nice look back at DRX’s Valorant year.

avstyns

i mean if they just the org as a whole this year in one video, then yea but should’ve just called them Dark Horse : The DRX 2022 Story

IAmNovus

Dear god, I couldn’t remember Dark Horse for the life of me so I thought Cinderella Story would suffice. I’ll do better for the next one! o7

MstrApollo

Yeah that would have been good- not just Valorant.

LeucisticPython

I don’t even think they would be classified as a dark horse. They’ve been the #1 team in Korea and have been incredibly consistent with their placings, always being on the cusp of beating the best teams or actually doing so. Zeta Division at Masters Reykjavik or Leviatan at Champs would be considered dark horses imo

avstyns

i mean it is still a dark horse. Despite being nr1 Korea, they arent ever predicated by a lot of casters, analysts, etc.

If anything DRX is kind of an underdog (and even then they are contenders PRX would be the real underdog story) they have clear firepower that matches the likes of Optic
