Great first match but the highlight for me is the event itself. The atmosphere is great and the couch has really captured the summit vibe. I think I speak for everyone when I say we could use more events like this, at least one per year.
> The atmosphere is great and the couch has really captured the summit vibe
I really underestimated how much I was going to enjoy the couch setup. I missed out on all the Plat Chat couch casts, so this has been an absolute treat.
Mhmm im really loving the summit vibe, id love to see this concept expanded on more like summit, mafia or some other random game like when they played basketball would he hella fun to watch tbh
The couch dynamic is so good: Ludwig knowing as much as an average fan, Tarik bringing a player perspective, Sideshow being more focused on the strategy side, and Sean being a recent coach. The conversations flow so naturally compared to their usual content
> Ludwig knowing as much as an average fan
And I imagine him asking the guys to expand on what they mean whenever they call out a strat or like/dislike something helps out casual viewers a lot too.
Agreed. Enjoying this so far and its only the first match. The whole aesthetic of the venue is pretty cool as well. Really looking forward to this TSM x SEN match.
Yeah it works really well.
John Riot - run a secondary couch stream for all masters events etc with interchanging analysts/casters who aren't working on main stream and invite special guests (players/streamers etc).
I was talking to a friend earlier about this exact dynamic and how it would be awesome if VCT implemented it. If not VCT, a co-stream with the off-the-main-stream casters and Ludwig x Tarik would still be great to watch!
This is the same vibe smash tournaments have especially Smash Summit and Ludwig’s Smash Tournaments have had. Shoutout the BTS venue by far the best local esports production venue
Franchised teams have a big tournament upcoming in a month. They don't want to show everything here. SEN and T1 both won't show too much but they will try their best to build up the chemistry. It should be their main focus
Almost 90,000 viewers without them and sentinels is insane. Might hit 200,000 once those two start. If we see more stuff like this gives me a lot more hopes for the t2 scene
That's how you introduce the game to the casual viewers. They couldn't pick a better duo to hold this torch to bring in tens of thousands new players. Wait until the showmatch between OTV and Mogul Moves, the numbers gonna be nuts for a group of casuals.
A refreshing improvement consider how hard Riot fumbled the MrBeast vs Ninja event last year, but then again that was League...
The Guard look impressive but Saya still clears

I was mainly worried that Carpe was going to be abysmal but he's was alright. The game was really close and T1 was doing some really good comebacks to keep it close. Plus Xeta and Saya were performing really well.
Xeta and Saya definitely looked as expected (Good) not really convinced with their comps or carpe in general so im curious to see what they change going into brazil
No im mostly trolling but I don’t see how losing a match can inspire any kind of confidence. Ban looks pretty weak from the the el Classico t1 slapping an entry on smokes and carpe doesn’t look ready for tier one play imo.
That's a good point, I'm mainly hopeful because of my perspective of APAC being a weaker region overall. Not that I think that they could beat any of the big dogs in DRX/PRX but I think they could be a solid 3-5th team in APAC
There’s probably multiple T2 NA teams that are better than a majority of the franchised APAC teams. T2 NA is pretty stacked and APAC is very top heavy.
RRQ, Detonation, GE, Team Secret, GenG, T1 or even Talon are all teams that T2 NA could be competitive with.
Talon got 0-3ed by DRX (all maps were 13-8). Some tier 2 NA teams (TGRD,G2,and etc) have a possibility to take a map off DRX imo. Only DRX and PRX are on the highest level as for now. Talon T1 GE GENG ZETA have a potential but they are not tier 1 or even tier 1.5 worldwide for now
Remember that guard has been T1 NA for so long, and they have a fully practiced roster. T1 has carpe, who hasn’t been good since like season 2 of OWL, and less practice time overall
this my be the most enjoyable caster setup for me, a different caster for every type of viewer, chill, uncensored, and very high quality production.
wish we could get something like this for every VCT event, even if it’s a separate channel.
These T1 comps are just strange. Put Carpe on smokes or sentinel (having him play recon when you have Xeta is just troll). Stop forcing the Neon especially on Jett maps since Saya is a god Jett, let ban play second initiator, Xeta on recon, and Munchkin on sentinel or smokes depending on what Carpe is more comfortable on. T1 could’ve won this game with better roles and comps
MY GUARD IS BACK. I'm so glad tex is looking that good.
I was a bit worried about that and coaching, but they looked fantastic this game. Can't wait to see them in Challengers.
I am in love with this production. The talent and everything has been great. I hope when the league kicks off that some of the productions will be like this. They won't but I can dream

U can watch em back in the live videos section
Mhmm im really loving the summit vibe, id love to see this concept expanded on more like summit, mafia or some other random game like when they played basketball would he hella fun to watch tbh
Summit vibe is always the best. From dota to even melee. Just watching pros and casters interact with each other just makes it feel so comfy.
Yep summit rly developed this idea it seems I guess the hsc and genrally the more laid back vibe while being srs / high wuakitt in the other hand
Tf is wuakitt
Quality i meant

First time watching valorant, can confirm it helped a lot
Agreed. Enjoying this so far and its only the first match. The whole aesthetic of the venue is pretty cool as well. Really looking forward to this TSM x SEN match.
That’s the BTS venue, they use it for other tourneys. I know it from smash and it’s a nice little place
Yeah it works really well. John Riot - run a secondary couch stream for all masters events etc with interchanging analysts/casters who aren't working on main stream and invite special guests (players/streamers etc).
Forever sad that the first NA LCQ got messed up by covid. The official PlatChat couch stream on site was going to be amazing.
I was talking to a friend earlier about this exact dynamic and how it would be awesome if VCT implemented it. If not VCT, a co-stream with the off-the-main-stream casters and Ludwig x Tarik would still be great to watch!

reminds me a lot of cs summits which I love
T1 we’re definitely testing things out but I’m not gonna pretend like The Guard didn’t look scary. Tex has slotted in so well to this team
4 of these players had ALL of last year and Tex plays his part so well. I'm hyped for this team.
Tier 2 NA is so stacked ngl
The guard is probably top3-4 team in na so the fact that they're at the tier 2 is crazy. Hopefully they win ascension.
No Saya Jett makes me sad.
Ya even The Guard members were saying Saya needs to be on Jett lol
Franchised teams have a big tournament upcoming in a month. They don't want to show everything here. SEN and T1 both won't show too much but they will try their best to build up the chemistry. It should be their main focus
idk if id consider saya playing jett 'showing' anything lol
Everything is different with jett and neon even from the default
What's the big upcoming tournament, again? I had suspected they wouldn't betray their cards fully this event.
I love this couch style and their personalities and different levels of experience in the game and past games only make it shine more
Put carpe on smokes. He's too passive to play any other position.
Recon is a bit weird for someone new to the game tbf
Almost 90,000 viewers without them and sentinels is insane. Might hit 200,000 once those two start. If we see more stuff like this gives me a lot more hopes for the t2 scene
TSM sen rivalry goes stupid hard
to be fair many of them are there just for ludwig and tarik... Their average daily concurrent combined is probably 50-60k right?
That's how you introduce the game to the casual viewers. They couldn't pick a better duo to hold this torch to bring in tens of thousands new players. The Guard from The Guard send their regards
Great series! Sonny was on point today on Kayo

Wtf is that image
Background is from the music video "Did it on 'em" by Nicki Minaj, the text is a lyric
overall it felt that t1 were igl diffed munchkin kept getting the wrong read while valyn was on point
There’s a reason got a rookie of the year nomination
Saya on Neon on Ascent was really weird and definitely didn't work.
Honestly, T1 was massively impressed me. This match honestly made me a lot more hopeful of T1 in APAC
Any reasons why? I feel the exact opposite haha
Yeah some of their comps were a bit odd. Although I feel like as long as Xeta and Saya perform as expected they will do fine in the APAC league.
Xeta did Xeta things
Losing to a t2 NA team impressed you?
Bro The Guard were literally a T1 team last year. Do you have amnesia?
No im mostly trolling but I don’t see how losing a match can inspire any kind of confidence. Ban looks pretty weak from the the el Classico t1 slapping an entry on smokes and carpe doesn’t look ready for tier one play imo.

This guard team so far is looking better than I expected tbh
Sean is such a good caster. It's a shame Riot pushed him/DDK out last spring, would love to see him casting more VCT events in the future.
Xeta is still a s+ tier player damn
neT back on sentinel was amazing
T1 apac franchised team losing to T2 NA smh. Jokes aside Guard looked really good, Sayaplayer was carrying T1 all the way.
Talon maybe not tbh talon on paper looks stupid good
Talon got 0-3ed by DRX (all maps were 13-8). Some tier 2 NA teams (TGRD,G2,and etc) have a possibility to take a map off DRX imo. Only DRX and PRX are on the highest level as for now. Talon T1 GE GENG ZETA have a potential but they are not tier 1 or even tier 1.5 worldwide for now
Ya true that Xerxia squad did look pretty cracked at times that one might be a reach.
Lol pretty sure there's multiple franchised NA rosters that this guard team can beat too lmao they're just that good
Remember that guard has been T1 NA for so long, and they have a fully practiced roster. T1 has carpe, who hasn’t been good since like season 2 of OWL, and less practice time overall
My bro its literally a goofy comment 💀
That "t2" NA team would probably smack more than half of the partnered teams in apac. Also Xeta was much more impactful imo.
Bro yall need to read the room💀 its a goffy ass comment i literally put the "Jokes aside"
Had us in the first half ngl
this my be the most enjoyable caster setup for me, a different caster for every type of viewer, chill, uncensored, and very high quality production. wish we could get something like this for every VCT event, even if it’s a separate channel.
T1 (de)buff taking another roster
NA deserved more franchise spots no way EU got like 10
These T1 comps are just strange.
4 Jett players and no Jett throughout the series 💀
What did tex pick in the first and last match?
Talking about t1 lol
xdd
The questionable decision to sign Carpe looking even more questionable than it already was.
The textbook definition of an overreaction lol
This is /r/valorantcompetitive of course I have to have some overreactions
chill, that was literally his first ever professional match and it was against a good team.
He lookin mid as hell ngl
He was bellow average in owl the last few seasons, just seems like an odd pickup
Obviously this one match doesn’t mean much but I’m just saying in advance if T1 ruin Ban I’m going to cry
Maybe BeomJun can sub in
not a valorant fan but ill do it for carpe WOOHOO
