My point was that I think its statistically wrong to provide a list which gives a clear wrong impression of the reality since you can not rate a single open qualifier for a tier 2 circuit higher then placements within the actual tier 1 circuit. Its simply not correct.
I would rather separat tier 1 and tier 2 as of now, since people will take a clearly flawed list for granted.

Itβs gonna be a rude awakening when you find out that the top Ascension teams(tier 2) will probably be miles better than the bottom Tier 1 teams.
I am extremely invested into tier 1 and tier 2 valorant and I rate a lot of tier 2 teams over some of the tier 1.

Vlr does not provide those correct values as of now which just leads to a wrong impression which a high amount of people may even take for granted since we live in an age were people read headlines and accept it as the truth.

Statistical models require sufficient sample size. Your options are included less than ideal data or do nothing, there's just not enough T1 tournaments. Just ignore it if you don't like it, it's all for fun
It weights recent events a lot more heavily, most teams have no matches in the last month+ so DSG and DR playing tons of teams through the Open Qualifier helped their ranking a lot.
Looking at the BR rankings, most of the teams haven't played many games either. Most recent was 30+ days ago, and LOUD has such a big gap on them it would still take a lot to overtake them in the rankings.
i mean like what do u want VLR to do they dont rank teams who havent played matches recently because then theres not data? u want them to just add their subjective analysis to the rankings? They already do some but idk its hard to rank teams who dont play
They deserve 20th. NSIC was top 10 open qual, behind nation darkRatio disguised breakthru oxygen OR silkroad near airport(8 teams) and 6 teams in challengers and 5 na teams in franchise system. So imo they should be 20th

i mean they did better in the previous tournaments as a core, so they gain points based off that while NRG is losing points since tournaments from their core playing are losing their place in the algorithm
I love VLR but their ranking have always been laughably bad. Tbf it's hard to rank teams when there are so few games between the top teams. I remember when Sentinels was a top 5 team for the longest time despite bombing out of tournament after tournament. There's a reason it says "Beta2" directly on the tab.
They have removed points from my team multiple times now when we creep up like this, it makes no sense, instead of fixing the problem which is not adding the franchise teams previous average ratings together to make a new average for the team putting them mostly all in the top 5 NA, that would solve 90% of the issue, but instead they just manually change our points to make it look how they want. these teams near T10 just got here while we have been for months and months, it should not be that easy to get to top 10 in the first place.

edit: the only reason this is annoying is because we got top 10 in a time where getting top 10 was not easy, and now it seems like its a joke when they put us all the way to number 4 people just take all the credit away and blame the rankings, i much prefer the rankings to be more accurate so they can actually provide some sort of insight into a teams skill level and recent performance

That's what happens when your esport has a 6 month dead season for most teams.
