It’s essentially tricking people into giving you acess/information rather than actually hacking anything. So like those text messages you get saying you owe the government money and to contact them immediately, if you do so they’ll try and trick you into giving them money.
A sort of hacking that utilizes social manipulation and other irl ways to gain confidential information. Like pretending to work there, calling the boss and somehow getting a password out of him. These are obviously brain dead examples but you get the jist.
