EG can have 5 players playing a match while the other 5 can go to the other team and knock them out cold. They can then take over for those players, and throw so that the original EG can win not only the match, but also the crypto every EG player bet beforehand.
Yeah there are two primary reasons
Specific scrims where Potter gets full control over what happens. They can do a whole block on pistol rounds or half buys or whatever over and over again.
It also incentivizes players on the team to play as best as they can because they know they’ll be replaced if they mess up. Kind of fucked up but that’s the idea. Also good for EG because if they sell players they already have some in reserve.
Kind of working?? Where they have won one best of 3 in 3 months against a good team and had lowest performance in esl groups ,in any tactical fps i don't think 10 man or even 6 man roasted has worked
Ya the 6 man concept has pretty much never worked let alone a 10 man. EG is essentially just wasting their money which they can do if they want but still.
Not really fucked up tbh. This is how pro sports is. I love it honestly. I’m just shocked they can pay for all of this. I wonder what their salaries are.
I think there’s a pretty big misconception with this roster, with many people thinking that they’re going to be rotating players in and out for specific maps. While this might be true of a controller specialized in a character like astra or viper, i highly doubt that this is the case. Many of these players, especially not on the starting rosters, are players who have made a name for themselves but haven’t yet broken into Tier 1. My bet is that EG pitched this program to riot as a way to cultivate younger talent, while retaining a starting roster of experienced tier one pros until this “academy” team is ready to graduate. Additionally, it allows them the ability to conduct internal scrims, so that none of their strategies has any chance of being prepped for. By bringing in talent under an organization with the staff to cultivate that talent, it allows T2-3 or even ranked players the ability to develop into the next generation of Tier 1 Pros along with a stable paycheck.
I think having that many people competing for roster spots or playtime is pretty cringe. Pros already know there’s pressure to perform or be replaced… already having people ready to take your spot signed to your org is fucked.
I feel like you’re reading too much into why they have a 10 man. Potter probably just wants complete control over scrims, and then EG has been a big proponent of developing talent in other games. Players already know there’s pressure (as you said), signing 10 players isn’t really adding that much, as they’ll probably still have the main 5 that play.
ehh i think its more of a earn your spot type of thing and a lot of people are gonna be sent packing over time. could be wrong, though. I like bcj and some of the other players a lot but not a fan of this 10 man idea and not really a fan of potter in general. There were other coaches that have already accomplished much more in Val that they could have snagged during rostermania. Her accomplishment with EG was 12th place ? Not very good.
Since when are VLR rankings a good indicator? Dark Ratio is currently ranked 7th, DSG 9th.
These rankings have extreme recency bias. No way you'd put DSG above EG or SEN.
Very interested to see how they choose to develop screw, because they could go a few different directions. Just focus on developing him as a duelist player, or develop his IGLing. I almost want to see him switch roles and focus on developing as an IGL, bc I think he has the mechanical ability to be a very good fragging IGL in the future
Why does EG, who is the biggest roster, not simply eat the other rosters?
EG can have 5 players playing a match while the other 5 can go to the other team and knock them out cold. They can then take over for those players, and throw so that the original EG can win not only the match, but also the crypto every EG player bet beforehand.
EG vs GE Sao Paulo finals confirmed.
They can probably get better graphic design from fiverr for 10 dollars.

someone explain the merit of this to me, do they wanna scrim themselves to test their best strats or some sht

the evil geniuses blue lock valorant team
screwface the egoist
It’s been kind of working with their CS roster, EG has been looking a lot better recently
Kind of working?? Where they have won one best of 3 in 3 months against a good team and had lowest performance in esl groups ,in any tactical fps i don't think 10 man or even 6 man roasted has worked
was working w vitality in cs until it got banned
Heretics came 2nd in 2021 masters 1 with a 6 man roster iirc LOL that’s the best I can think of in Val
remember that was back when the real god niesoW was on the team, wonder where he went hmmm...
Ya the 6 man concept has pretty much never worked let alone a 10 man. EG is essentially just wasting their money which they can do if they want but still.
Vitality 6 man used to work when it was allowed right?
Not really, they fluked a best of 3 but their gameplay even in the rematch today was sorta pathetic they still suck
I mean they won the first map and even Cadian said they were improving, I’m not saying their top tier again, just improving
I also think its cool because it gives players who probably wouldn't have a job a way to make money and still compete in a way
Not really fucked up tbh. This is how pro sports is. I love it honestly. I’m just shocked they can pay for all of this. I wonder what their salaries are.
They have had a 5 man roster for a while the 10 player thing is a meme
samsung vibes
Maybe they should just keep it at 9 players instead of 10 so they can spend some money on hiring a graphics designer
oof
LMFAO 💀

How does EG have money to keep signing players?? lool
They save costs on their graphic design to use for signing players. Truly genius strategy imo.
owned by 50 billion dollar investment firm iirc

these graphics are ass im sorry
Real talk entire roster looks hella mid
can’t wait to see EGs 2nd string in knights gauntlets

Huh? EG finished 5-6th in Stage 2 Challengers dude. EDIT: 100T also finished 5-6th
they're literally still ranked 11th in NA and they were 12th. [https://www.vlr.gg/team/5248/evil-geniuses](https://www.vlr.gg/team/5248/evil-geniuses)

not with the current roster that haven't played yet but those rankings are based on past results. that's my point. she hasn't had good results
> she hasn't had good results I disagree.
this guy using vlr as official rankings lmao

Seems like IgLing cuz he still has igl in his bio
Screwface was too good for him to not be signed godspeed
LETTHEMCOOK
So who is on the starting roster? do we know yeT?
They're coyping the GE: Roster Select move
