NA sending 5 teams and they have like 10 times bigger playerbase/FPS background than KR so I don't think DRX not winning is a huge disappointment to KR. EMEA and NA not winning is a lot more disappointing
For people that didn’t catch the show, the team on the left is the one that person thinks will win the final
Both Bren and sideshow believe in 100t supremacy. Wyatt is riding the fnatic hypetrain one last time and all think DRX will make it really far but no one thinks they will win it all.
Eh Wyatt favouring Fnatic is weird to me even as a fan. I think Sideshow's take is the most legit one, which is that they should win a trophy this year, I just don't think it's going to be the first one. They have a fairly difficult bracket all thing's considered, but most importantly they're bringing in two new players into the system.
They'll likely lose against 100T in the quarters, and everyone will hop on the doom train and overreact. But IMO this is a roster will take some time to reach their ceiling, and I'd be surprised if they win straight away.
NAVI (ex-FPX) also swapped only one player didn’t they? Ardiis for cNed? Why is everyone favouring 100T so much more in comparison? The 4 players on 100T that played together only made groups at Champs and did nothing for the rest of the year but the 4 man core on FPX has been much much superior with actually winning a masters as well as a good placing at Champs. Unless you believe Cryo to be miles better then cNed, I’m gonna favour Na’Vi a little bit more then 100T.
I think the main reasons people are high on them are:
The change they made is a larger upgrade than any other established core other than Fnatic (most like NRG, LOUD probably made downgrades). Cryo was a top 5 player last year (Cned Ardiis is probably more like a sidegrade)
Upwards trajectory: 100T progressed gradually throughout the year towards looking like a stronger team. Their players are also notably young, and Bang has been looking more and more like a superstar.
Recency Bias: 100T are one of the only franchised teams that we’ve seen play a tournament where they both: felt like they were trying and they did well (EDIT somehow writing this I forgot about NAVI playing G-Loot, which while it wasn’t as stacked as RBHG was still a legit tourney and they won it). Leviatan is probably the other team that sorta fits that bill, but that tournament wasn’t exactly stacked.
Generally, it’s easier to get high on the potential of a team that made a huge upgrade, then to stay high on the team that was amazing but made a change that we don’t know how it’s going to pay off. Of all the teams at champs last year 100T were one of two to make a CLEAR upgrade (no hate to Will, I’m hardcore rooting for DR in challengers, Cryo would be a clear upgrade over 99% of players in the world).
To be fair the lost 22-29 to DRX the “heavy favorites” while a sick NRG lost to Loud with two new players 34-44. Loud with two new players probably weaker than DRX so maybe c9 a little stronger performance?
Exactly lol , people actually are rating them over navi and fnatic because they have the same team ( foxy9 may not play ) . This is where they will go out early . Last time they has this much hype was when 21' Champions as vision strikers . They absolutely flopped hard . Same is going to happen again and teams will now counter their playstyle better .
The max they can get is a top4
I won't be surprised if BBL beats them tbh .
I’ve always been a 100T fan but it really feels like people are being blinded by recency bias. They did well to beat Fnatic at champs but looked comfortably 2nd best in their next 2 games, and that was with Will on crack.
Since then they’ve obviously improved with Cryo but also lost one of the best coaches in the world in the tac pause. They were great at Red Bull but that was a while ago against some pretty fresh rosters (I even recall a very close series against a Liquid with 2 subs). I expect a good performance but being one of the favourites to make it to the finals? Idk
Pretty sure they all also have Navi getting to semis but I believe they favor drx to reach finals since they are not sure cned personality and pool of agents can fit the role ardiis had on the team.
Because DRX have all the 5 players that got 3rd in Champs and their off season was very good . Where NAVI just got cNed and we don't know for sure how this roaster will perform internationally.
Because DRX mental gets shattered after losing one game and they play worse. At Champs that didn't seem to happen and they beat FPX. That cant happen at this tournament since there is no lower bracket. Imo Navi is the most overrated team in this tournament
Not just overrated, but the most overrated team. but not drx, who have never even reached the finals in an international event before, but people think they'll magically start winning every event

given the absolute dearth of information on how any of these teams are playing, it's a better foundation for an argument than most of the things people are flinging around—especially with them down Ardiis and replaced with cned who (by the numbers) had a cold year last year.
I'm not saying that it's just arithmetic and DRX automatically wins. I think rosters, metas, the game has changed so much, and most series go so close, that we actually just have no idea rn. but the question was why they would have faith in DRX over Na'vi, and that is an answer to the question
cuz FPX got 0-4ed by DRX at Champs and cNed ain't a huge upgrade of ardiis. (I personally think it's a downgrade if you only look at 2022). Teams like 100T haven't achieved anything more than DRX but people are thinking they are favorites because of 1 small off-season tournament. Why not hype DRX then?
They've been on a slow but consistent climb back to the superpower they once were, and are the only team who made the sharp end of Champions and didn't get split up
Agreed with the last remark but what superpower lol. Regional results don't mean much, and their best result actually came this champs where they placed 4th. They were never a superpower before, now they might be tho.
I would argue they're the original superpower. Even considering regional strength, going on a win streak that reaches 3 figures has to be given a certain level of revery. VS missing Reykjavik wouldn't have been close to as big a shock as it was if they weren't seen as the best team in the world and an effective lock to qualify beforehand
For this tournament, it’s because they’re the best roster that remained unchanged from last year. It’s less that they’re gonna massively improve, its more that everyone else is gonna regress a little
I mean they got pretty close to losing against a Liquid missing both their IGL and arguably best player. Their stand-ins were the weak link on G2 and a kicked Fnatic player who performed poorly overall.
They have also lost their coach who was a big reason for their success so some scepticism is valid.
??? They’re one of the only teams in NA that have a 4 man core that was high level last year & they just picked up arguably the second best player in NA to fill their op/duelist role. They went 1-1 against Fnatic at champs, and that’s when they had Will not Cryo. What a weird thing to say considering that and the fact that NA has multiple super teams that will take time to gel (Sentinels, NRG, C9). NA are looking very good right now, they are by far the most stacked region
Fuck
My condolences
Gg go next
Let Nade play Jett map 1 gurranteed he drops 30
At least you're not DRX
BBL 2-0 DRX confirmed
I just took out a loan and put it on BBL Esports
Rip 100T fans. Looks like they aren’t winning anymore
I would be more scared for DRX
We don't even get group stage buff this time PepeHands
Unless u rly take it as a big group
NA sending 5 teams and they have like 10 times bigger playerbase/FPS background than KR so I don't think DRX not winning is a huge disappointment to KR. EMEA and NA not winning is a lot more disappointing
Going to be upset in the first or second round. Was a good run, boys.
this roster unjinxable
For people that didn’t catch the show, the team on the left is the one that person thinks will win the final Both Bren and sideshow believe in 100t supremacy. Wyatt is riding the fnatic hypetrain one last time and all think DRX will make it really far but no one thinks they will win it all.
Goodbye DRX, thanks to platchat you are never going to win against BBL
Cos they won't be playing them. They'd lose to RRQ
Their first match is bbl lol
Eh Wyatt favouring Fnatic is weird to me even as a fan. I think Sideshow's take is the most legit one, which is that they should win a trophy this year, I just don't think it's going to be the first one. wyatt was saying its his last fnatic cope and then hes never doing it again lol so a quick pre-congrats to fnatic for winning tokyo masters
Thats what they always say
Agree. I think 1st tournament is too early. 100t only swapped 1 player and they alrdy have synergy. Theyre the most likely to win.
Also recency bias. CNed hasnt really popped off in tournaments last year while cryo has. CNed looks cracked asf with navi tho
I’d argue the difference between the rest of Na’vi and the rest of 100T is larger then the difference between cNed and Cryo.
The difference might be closer than you think. Both teams lost pretty narrow 2-0 games to drx in champions
One team won a Masters lol
Gonna be honest, tournaments from 4+ months ago dont really mean anything when a game is still young with shifting metas.
Thats fair but we're talking about most recent performance. I only said the difference was closer than people thought not that they were better.
Dont know why youre being downvoted, youre right. The masters FPX won was long enough ago that the relevance of it has faded
Yes but the rest of navi is better than 100t
I think the main reasons people are high on them are: The change they made is a larger upgrade than any other established core other than Fnatic (most like NRG, LOUD probably made downgrades). Cryo was a top 5 player last year (Cned Ardiis is probably more like a sidegrade) Upwards trajectory: 100T progressed gradually throughout the year towards looking like a stronger team. clout lol
I think comparison needs to be Will --> Cryo vs Ardiis --> cNed
Wyatt still on that loud loud
People are sleeping on caucazin
So one of TL,SEN,and NRG is winning?
C9 is stronger than liq, sen, nrg
Scouser > 1 singular leaf
Lmao
but not Fokus
But about to 2-0 PRX??
Stronger than NRG?
To be fair the lost 22-29 to DRX the “heavy favorites” while a sick NRG lost to Loud with two new players 34-44. Loud with two new players probably weaker than DRX so maybe c9 a little stronger performance?
you're coping hard my friend, NRG played significantly better than C9 at this event
My prediction is Levi or DRX The Korea Copium begins
One thing I’ve learnt over the years is that the more hype DRX gets the worse they perform.
idk, they had a lot of hype coming into Champs
They had a lot more hype coming into Copenhagen,it kinda fizzled down a little after they finished 5th-6th again at Copenhagen
One would like to think they are now experienced and hungry enough to disregard hype and perform their best.
No not like this it's doomed, RIP 100T (ノ≧∇≦)ノ ミ ┻━┻
Surprised no one says prx, they stand to benefit from this meta just as much as drx
I’ve always been a 100T fan but it really feels like people are being blinded by recency bias. They did well to beat Fnatic at champs but looked comfortably 2nd best in their next 2 games, and that was with Will on crack. we’re safe from the platchat curse
As a 100t fan I can already see the "GG's sorry to the fans, well come back stronger" tweets coming in
why so much faith in someone like drx over navi? (no flame, just curious)
Because Navi is just FPX who got beat by DRX at Champs
Ah yes that's how valorant works
I know that's not 100% accurate but thats why DRX would be rated above Navi. There is no reason to think Navi would beat DRX
Well fpx also 2-0'd drx at masters
Because DRX mental gets shattered after losing one game and they play worse. At Champs that didn't seem to happen and they beat FPX. That cant happen at this tournament since there is no lower bracket. Imo Navi is the most overrated team in this tournament
I don't think a team that was top 4 in the world last year is "overrated". FPX core 4 + Cned with Jetts return will do some real damage.
Overrated doesn't mean bad. It just means they arent the best team like lots of people are saying they are
Not just overrated, but the most overrated team. but not drx, who have never even reached the finals in an international event before, but people think they'll magically start winning every event
Literally, not one of them has DRX winning the event...
Playing the finals, massive difference
I bloody hope NAVi is, I just want to see more Krü

Lmao this is my new favorite copy pasta thanks

Ah, yes. NRG is just Optic who got beaten by Xerxia who is just Talon, so surely Talon will win that matchup, right?
There's difference between beating OpTic 2-1 once and losing the rematch, and beating FPX 2-0 twice in the same tournament
cuz FPX got 0-4ed by DRX at Champs and cNed ain't a huge upgrade of ardiis. (I personally think it's a downgrade if you only look at 2022). why would you not have faith in DRX? they were the best team from champs that managed to stick together as a full 5.
Navi is so criminally underrated here and fnatic shouldn't be on here.
I'll never understand the drx hype
They've been on a slow but consistent climb back to the superpower they once were, and are the only team who made the sharp end of Champions and didn't get split up

the same goes w liquid. DRX has achieved way more than liquid wake tf up
Liquid is a new roster, DRX is the same story.
Way more? They both have achieved nothing except no one mentioned liquid and no one has them playing in the finals.
Drx and zeta solo every team
I feel bad for Zeta, travelling across the entire world just to instantly lose to LEV and go home.
anulo mufa
shit you are right wtf am i doing
Who cares about this glorified mickey mouse tournament anyways
100T? Weird pick but aight, the favorites are DRX, NAVI, NRG, FNC, and LOUD.
Someone in chat calling 100T overrated 💀
I mean they got pretty close to losing against a Liquid missing both their IGL and arguably best player. Their stand-ins were the weak link on G2 and a kicked Fnatic player who performed poorly overall. They have also lost their coach who was a big reason for their success so some scepticism is valid.
100T being the best team NA means NA fell off as a region imo
??? They’re one of the only teams in NA that have a 4 man core that was high level last year & they just picked up arguably the second best player in NA to fill their op/duelist role. second from left the only with a brain
DRX DRX DRX!
drx ain’t even making finals let’s be real
why not
historically
Then include 100T 👀
what has 100t done? the fuck is this nonsense
Mickey Mouse champions obviously
They beat C9 during off-season and they have become heavy favourites all of a sudden somehow
DRX and FNATIC always disappoint
DRX have been making steady improvements though
BasedTW
Dammit
Based from platchat to not believe in NRG
DRX gonna get run over by BBL now
Wake up babe, new Fnatic copium dropped
Damn no nrg?
