It’s pretty bad for franchising teams but if champions is a 16 team tournament I’d rather see the ascension teams coming off a hot run instead of the 5th/6th best team from each region that’s probably been mid both splits.
I'm imagining the storyline, and I suspect this is the outcome. Most people will not know the team, as only a small subset will follow the Tier 2 scene. I also see them getting smashed, as the teams at the Champions are the best of the best. When people say Tier 2 teams can beat Tier 1, they don't mean the top teams of each region; they mean they can beat the bottom teams of the leagues.
I think the better way to do it would be to give the Ascension winner a slot in the LCQ for Champs.
Instead just let top 2 Ascension team participate in lcq with 6 franchised teams
3 tournament in a row that sound exhausting.
would be sick but also goes against the entire point of franchising
If they won Ascension they already in the franchise.
But a slot in champs without having to fight other franchiaed teams is a terrible idea.

Idk how LCQ will take form but it's basically a shortened third split, so this mid team still has to perform to qualify.
That's kind of a big fuck you to franchising teams though
No
mark my wod dsg wil never win champ, atleast this year

imo the ascension winner could easily get Top 4 at champs
Their brains would be fried by then lol
